governor kemp's call to bring in the national guard? >> when you look at the circumstances this has been going on for several weeks. the police chief resigned although there is an acting police chief but mother's day speeches don't get it. these are criminals, their arms, their weapon ice was we have to take it to them and let them know we are not going to tolerate this. let how many lives have been lost as a result of this. enough is enough and we are not -- atlanta is not the place to have that type of activity. when you have a vacuum in local leadership you have to ask for resources. governor brian kemp won't allow the city to be burned and that is what donald trump has been saying. of these local levels if you look at seattle, minneapolis, they needed the national guard, they needed the president's help

there is a bigger issue and that is reciprocity. china doesn't allow us apps but you allowed chinese apps in our country. we need to balance this off so if they are not going to allow hours they should not allow there's. rob: it is differently a possibility. what is the chinese government could learn from apps like tick-tock am mostly kids using it from what i know and what information are they able to extract from people using it? >> they are able to extract user data and china takes everything it possibly can because sometimes they find clues that are important and especially what devices they are using so it is important we do this. china take this information it surveilled and surreptitiously takes from us and feeds into its artificial intelligence systems and the more data ai has the better it is. for china there are a number of considerations we normally don't

prevent a school from reopening. those are very encouraging things. it is safe to reopen schools. carley: 39 states have plans to reopen so it seems there is a big push to get kids back in the classroom come august and september. people who are concerned about kids going back to class say it may not affect the children but they could get the virus and spread it to grandparents or older people or put teachers at risk. what do you say to those concerns? >> i can understand why people would be concerned about that. the media makes it seem there would be problems. 22 european countries have gone back to school, they have not seen a significant increase in the spread of coronavirus from children to parents, adults or staff so what we know about the virus shows we don't have to worry about spread going from children to adults. adults spread it to children but

children don't spread it to adults. carley: we know in france they tried to reopen schools and some had to close down because of the spread. you are right that a lot of doctors do feel the push to go back to school, the need to go back to school is more important than the drawback of possibly spreading this virus. the first lady really highlighted the mental health element of this. >> the thing is it is safe to go back to school. there may be an outbreak where some students wind up having to before and teens. we work through those issues but the thing is more children are harmed by not being in school and being in school, the american academy for pediatrics urges policy created to put
