great ratings as always. thanks, laura. >> laura: i'm laura ingraham, this is th "the ingraham angle" from d.c. why is the afton american museum of history separating people by race?te a can't-miss debate. we brought you a report of over counting of the positive covid tests in florida. raymondai arroyo will bring you wet cnn's biden versus trump coverage, and why burger king is targeting cow flatulence. first, what they aren't telling you. that's the focus of tonight'sre angle. last night, we expose the lies and fearmongering used to justify closing schools across america. we showed the best signs out there why all schools, all schools, should reopen to their

students, preferably five days a week. the response, i have to say, was huge and it was bipartisan. children must be taught in person. nevertheless, louisville, kentucky, just announced that all fallen classes will be onli. same with san francisco schools. forget that extensive new german study that kids can't readily spread the virus or kids across europe had not seen any major spread, though schools have been open. can't let the facts get in the way of spreading panic. as far as the media's hyperventilation of rising hospital numbers, remember, this is chiefly tied to what's happening in four states, florida, california, texas, arizona where numbers did increase after a perfect storm of reopening the, protests, riots, and travel from south of the border. by the way, even in arizona, the rolling number of confirmed cases is already lower compared to one week ago.
11:03 pm
that's good news. we hope it continues. but now we talk about the issue of masks mandates. >> we've seen what can happen when people come together with face coverings. >> we want people to be more protected for those who work in shops. those can be done by the use of thface coverings. >> you could literally kill someone because you didn't want to wear a mask.to >> i'm convinced the benefit of wearing a mask clearly is there. >> laura: i want to make clear, i'm not telling anyone not to wear a mask. that is not what we are here for. instead i want to move beyond hyperbole and focus on what the latest science actually tells us. we've heard for months thatus wearing face coverings, event homemade ones, cloth ones, is a selfless thing to do and even a patriotic duty which i have to say sounds pretty cool and it sounds like a unifying thing.
11:04 pm
the emotional argument is really wonderful. what about the actual data? considering the following from the varying medical journals and organizations that were led to believe aree infallible. a2015 study recruited health care workers from hospitals from hanoi, vietnam, and and measured flu and flu-like virus transmission. well, the result may surprise you. the rates of all infection outcomes were highest in the cloth arms, penetration of cloth mask of particles were almost 97%, and medical masks? 44%. this is a randomized, controlled trial of more than 160000 health care workers and had this stunning conclusion. the results cautioned against the use of cloth masks. this is an important finding to inform occupational health and
11:05 pm
safety. moisture retention, reuse of cloth masks, and poor filtration may result in increased risks of infection. hmm. okay. what about the world health organization? i'm sure they recommend masks. just go to the w.h.o. website where they say there is limited evidence wearing a medical mask by helping individuals and households in particular those who share a house with a sick person or among attendees of mass gatherings may be beneficial as a measure of preventing transmission. at present, there is no direct evidence on the effectiveness of universal masking of healthy people in the community to prevent infection with respiratory viruses, including i covid-19. hmm. there is the gold standard
11:06 pm
itself, the cdc. back in january, it recommended against masks and dr. fauci repeated that guidance in march. >> there is no reason to be walking around with a mask. when you are in the middle of an outbreak of a wearing a mask might make people feel a little bit better, and it might even blockk a droplet. but it's not providing the perfect protection that people think that it is. >> laura: fauci recently explained his mask flip, he's now now in favor of them, the comments were made in view of saving masks for health care workers. facebook now flagged the interview with fauci as false information. but he sure seemed convincing. but that is not all. in april study published in "nature" seems consistent with the old fauci as well. it measured and compared viral shedding and the coughing of 111
11:07 pm
participants, some wearing masks, some not. the results? among samples collected without a face mask, we found the majority of participants with influenza virus and coronavirus infection did not shed detectable virus in viral load in both tended to be low. wait, what? the majority of confirmed coronavirus infections without a face mask didn't shed detectable virus or droplets or aerosol? for those who actually did, that minority? there was very little virus present? it gets better. the major limitation of our study was a large proportion of participants with undetectable viral shedding and exhaled brats for each of the viruses studied. we could increase the sampling
11:08 pm
duration beyond 30 minutes to increase the viral shedding being captured but apparently people didn't want to do that. again, let me explain this. over the space of 30 minutes, they were unable to capture any viral shedding in a large proportion of participants with confirmed known infection. again, what? indeed, they go on to explain that forced coughing might've helped. forced coughing? so the issue as is explained by the study is that noncoughing or sneezing people i our are by and large not shutting virus. if they are coughing, that's a different story of course but someone actively sick, well, they are actively sick. but especially now, many coronavirus infections are not symptomatic for cough, and among those actively sick but not coughing, they had great the
11:09 pm
faculty in the study of finding virus expelled under lab conditions. and lab conditions have extremely sensitive equipment. again, these are people who are actively sick and hadre a fever. so much for the theory of aids in the a symptomatic shedding of virus through nose. do you see or smell or hear a problem here? there is conflicting information, scientific findings, unmask use. and masks on kids? hard to see how any of that should be the new normal, given new levels of infectivity and infectiousness of children. i'm not discouraging anyone from wearing a mask.ri but the world is full of experts who got big issues wrong, isn't it?
11:10 pm
before americans are forced to accept new restrictions on their freedom, or even be shamed or beaten up for not complying for these mandates, shouldn't state legislators hold hearings and discuss the findings i just brought you tonight? they should pass actual laws about masks, social distancing, all of it that can withstand judicial scrutiny. we must insist on all of this. the man to see all of the science behind the locked down, social distancing, and the mas masks. otherwise don't be surprised if you lose your precovid way of life for the rest of your life. and that's the angle. joining me now is my medicine cabinet, dr. scott jensen, physician, and minnesota state senator, and ramin oskoui. dr. oskoui, that same study showed very little viral shedding in covid cough. it did go on to say that our
11:11 pm
results show that surgical mask could reduce transmission from sentiment individuals. it's confusing if you don't read the whole science and study, so what does this actually mean? are mass mandates really slowing the spread? >> the short answer is no. there is no evidence that isolation of the virus is really a major transmitter. i think it's really clear and we've known this since february with the crown princess, its oral spread, much like the norovirus. you also mention the cdc guidance from may 20th of this year that quotes other randomized controlled studies, some which he referenced that simply show that masks for influenza simply are not effective. does yourno chain-link fence stp
11:12 pm
a mosquito? it doesn't. that's the fundamental problem and there is good randomized controlled data that suggest that masks outside of a strict medical setting simply don't slow transmission for viruses like corona. >> laura: dr. jensen, i want to get to you, he seems really convincing and empathetic, understood why people wanted to wear masks. but as this went on, the mask becomes a symbol of unity or patriotism, which is nice. i like all that. maybe it has some minor effect. what is the truth here? >> honestly i think dr. fauci is conflicted. he used to be quoting data from decades of learning in medical schools. if you mention a study from 2015, that was a study done when we didn't have scientists and doctors with agendas. right now we are getting a lot
11:13 pm
of garbage and people are absolutely identifying their position before they release the study, before they do the study. i think dr. fauci use to follow the science and now he's pandering. laura: dr. oskoui. you said the cdc's own guidance from may says that although mechanistic studies support the potential effect of hand hygiene or face masks, evidence from 14 randomized controlled trials of these measures did not support a substantial effect of transmission of laboratory confirmed influenza. so this is this is influenza and i believe i also read that the size of the droplets of the coronavirus can be even smaller than the influenza droplets. is that correct? >> that's correct, that's correct. i think we need to fall back on proven science, not fear. and we need to help people understand, people are becoming maniacal about masks, and it's leading to short term, long-term
11:14 pm
effects like school closings. >> laura: if it's patriotic and unifying, that's fine. but is it scientific? that's the only thing we are asking tonight. it's not only masks we are missing the science. here is where a teacher in orange county, california, told cnn today. >> to put it out there, just in the two week period between juns among zero to 17 years of age have risen 65%. that's concerning an alarming to teachers who want to go back to school, to be with their students. but we fear for their safety. >> laura: in reality, that 65% increase is only .1% when measured in the 1.89 million kids in california for it why do you think the perpetual drumbeat of fear and panic is really the hallmark of all reporting, almost all
11:15 pm
reporting of this covid? what's going on here? this is frankly disturbing, beyond disturbing at this point. >> i think a fair amount of people in public health have fractured the trust of the public. this idea of a teacher is saying that it's gone up 55%, quite frankly i think dr. atlas out of stanford came out and said that if you are under the age of 70, your case fatality rate is .04 which is less than half of a lot of flu epidemics. quite honestly, we are not getting facts anymore, we are just getting opinions. we need to focus on sustainable messages. if you keep your hands away from your eyes, nose, mouth, don't go out if you are sick, but a lot of this stuff is whack a mole versus actual science. science has been sacrificed at the altar of panic. >> laura: panic and politics. a concern that they want to keep his panic going into the fall
11:16 pm
election season. dr. raoult, people are afraid to go vote, they have to go vote by mail, et cetera, et cetera. i want to get news on these vaccine trials. ultimate success is predicated on producing antibodies. butth they didn't dr. fauci and others say that the antibody response may disappear after aon few months? do these things seem contradictory, dr. oskoui? >>co they do. one doesn't really know whether these antibodies, how long they last and whether they are effectivee but none of these vaccine makers t are looking at any t-cell immunity immunity. the t cell is very important in this vital response and in our response to this virus and i don't see any metric how any of these vaccine makers are measuring this pair that's the asked. how long does immunity lasts and what are we showing in terms of t cell training when the vaccine is given?

reconciliation, the museum embraced the radical left language of racial retribution to cast america as irredeemably racist and an evil country and you, the american taxpayer, our funding it. isn't that neat? the museum has a website dedicated to explaining the concept of whiteness and why it's the root cause of racism and oppression in america today. according to the website, "thete normalization of white racial identity throughout america's history has created a culture were nonwhite persons are seen as inferior or abnormal."r when they say whiteness, they don't just say skin color, but also people who value things like "individualism, stable nuclear family, scientific method, rational linear thinking, hard work, christianity, and being polite." ofst course, these are all valus that most americans, especially african-americans, see as necessary for success and happiness. why in the heck is the african-american history museum
