11:00 pm
unfortunately, that is all the time we have left. sean will be right here on monday, "the ingraham angle" upp now. >> s laura: i'm laura ingraham and this is the "the ingraham angle." the political fray in a radical partisan way. what is it that former president obama really wants? dinesh d'souza has the answer and how biden is choosing teachers union over kids? and in a predictable turn, hollywood lionizes a trump foe. "friday follies" explains. but first agents are suffering. that is the focus of tonight's "angle." this is another busy "newsweek" and three major events occurs demonstrates how radical and how dangerous the democrats have become. now i know it soundsds hyperbolc
11:01 pm
but bear with me. the evidence is mounting that joe biden's party from elders to organizers haser adopted a buy-n means necessary approach to winning in november. and the consequences for america will be devastating in both the short and long term. first, if you thought that we could find bipartisan agreement that rioting should never be tolerated, think again. f in fact, there seems to be an implicit consensus among democrats today that efforts should not be made to stop federal buildingsar from arson. or even to stop a tax on law enforcement at all. at the disgraceful inquisition of ag bill barr this week, democrat members of congress gave cover to actual criminals and treated barr like he was the problem. >> shame on you, mr. barr, shame on you. >> i think it is a very c important anomaly. >> for protesters. >> no, for rioters.
11:02 pm
>> that's my question, for protesters. mr. barr, excuse me, this is my time, sir, sir. >> i don't think what was happening immediately around the the courthouse was a peaceful protest.en >> that is not my question, mr. barr. you are claiming my time, you are claiming my time. >> laura: every american who votes in november should understand that the democrat party will allow total mayhem to go unchecked and life's work destroyed if perpetrators are anti-trump. if you have the right motive, they will leave you alone. now, we learned in new york alone at the height of its protest, about $1 million in damage was done just to the police cars that were destroyed. and the damage to businesses was likely in the tens of millions. the cities a total now with skyrocketing crime including murder rates going way up. cuomo andd
11:03 pm
and de blasio a duo of disaster. but they don't care. it's all about them asking moreu power for them, more control for them and hurting the president's chances for reelection. now, another indication that the democrats have gone totally nuts though is their famed hyperventilation yesterday about trump's tweet about mail-in voting at this question of delaying the election. now they all know he doesn't have the power to do that nor was he even saying that he would try to do that. for good reason, the president believes that mail-in voting would be a nightmare that would end up delaying election results for weeks, even months. and that is what the democrats themselves have repeatedly said to. >> we are working to prepare you and the public to not get the results immediately closing out election night. it may well take several more days.
11:04 pm
>> laura: the democrats are madly pushing in mail-in voting for one reason. they think it would help them beat trump. they know, and they don't even care it can lead to fraud and corruption. there are already plenty of examples of that including most recently new jersey.y. but democrats are fine with millions up and trackable and sometimesex untraceable mail-in ballots floating around undermining the electoral system, causing confusion, instability, and even violent unrest for days or weeksmid aftr election day. to them made it just ends up in being another insurance policy to help biden. c thirdly, it is obvious the democrats, including biden, want america to shut down again with newer and even more draconian controls over your movement. >> you can't get this country going again unless you get covid under control. >> we do not expect to open if the virus is spreading
11:05 pm
unchecked. >> and congress understands why. and to contain the virus. >> when they shut down or locked down with shelter in place, however you want to describe it, they really did it to the tune of about 95 plus percent. >> that's what we should have down, shut it all down and stay inside and wait for the mailbox money.y. well our terrible gdp numbers released for the second quarter are due entirely to unemployment, and of course, that is caused by the shutdown. consumer confidence is in the toilet. kids will be stuck at home looking at screens and much of america this fall hurting themd and their families. but the democrats just consider it all necessary political collateral damage on the way that they hope to beating donald trump. oh, by the way, the eurozone released its numbers today and they are in a full-blown recession, the worst on record. france's economy shrank by nearly 14% in the second quarter.
11:06 pm
spain fared even worse. there gdp contracted 19%. that is double what we lost. the democrats consider all of this a success story? and finally today, this took the cake, senate democrats left town rather than agree to a short-term extension of t unemployment benefits proposed by republicans. and even cnn couldn't spin the democrats behavior. >> while there were offers from the white house to temporarily to spend this extra $600 a week benefit that so many people are dependingg on, the democrats didn't agree to that. the fear is that if you let this go as a stand-alone bill, you lose leverage in future negotiations. >> laura: leverage? did you hear that? i leverage! these are real people real lives at stake.. so instead of acting in the nation's best interest,
11:07 pm
democrats are willing once again to see needless pain inflicted on american citizens. because you sees humans different to them is useless. if it gets them closer to socialistic utopia of massive increase with people depend on the government and a massive increase in state control over every aspect of our lives. every step of the way we see democrats choose chaos over common sense. they are okay with trashing the country's economy. tax payer property and history. they are finally emigrating cabinet members as part of a show for the camera. and they are okay with hurting children with false panic about school reopening. and finally, they will let you twist in the wind instead of working with republicans. this entire year has been a post-impeachment revenge quest for democrats. r and they only hate trump, remember because they hate the america that elected him. they need that america to get so demoralized that they stop

11:09 pm
so that study is a flawed study and anyone who examines it carefully is it is not a randomized placebo-controlled trial.t i don't have any course in the game one way or the other. i just look at the data. >> laura: dr. smith, he just looked at the data. was the study flawed and what about what dr. fauci said? >> we know it is not a randomized study. and it was a randomized controlled but they did control the exposure and still hydroxychloroquine head benefits. but the bigger problem is dr. fauci has taken aim at the study for not being randomized controlled study where he's endorsed other studies that also were the more observations thate of course, was fraud. in all these other studies, he named them, they have to have to be inbs controlled studies and there aren't that many
11:10 pm
randomized. so it's disturbing. and there are controlled studies, even the first neurological study was controlled and ran to my so good controls and actually less then the drug receiving patients. the drug receiving patients with the virus quicker. the placebo studies in india, again not randomized, but the more controls, decided not to take hydroxychloroquine. these studies are controlled and on top of it, if i remember correctly, dr. fauci was my mentor and i appreciate what he did for me. they published their big findings back in the early '70s in an uncontrolled study with -- which works and i credit that with them. so you got to look at at the same way. >> laura: so it turns out, let me jump in here, it turnss out dr. askoui, dr. fauci doesn't believe that these randomized
11:11 pm
controlled studies are always necessary, but for some reason, they are necessary in the middle of a pandemic where we have hundreds of thousands of people dying in a situationie where people want answers and realisticc hope. no one is saying it's a panacea or anything like that. but what do you make of that testimony today, specifically on that. any other thoughts? >> well, unfortunately i what i think steve has ultimately pointed out, lying by omission is still lying. it is very important to understand that study did correct steroid use but it also pointed out what we seem to see in covid which is a steroid paradox where if you have a disease a mild disease, steroids don't help you where is if you have a more severe disease, greater than 20, steroids specifically may be immensely helpful.
11:12 pm
and what i'm hearing is someone who is frankly very manipulative and dishonest as a scientist. >> laura: so the cdc completed an investigation on covid transmission, they observed it at sleep away camp with kids and counselors with the study but the cdc concluded that the body of evidence demonstrating that children of all ages are so acceptable to sars-cov-2, infection to early reports might play an important role in transmission. dr. askoui, what does that tell you, should we run fromle schoos and keep our kids locked in the house? >> no, i think it means we should believe our lying eyes. kids simply don't get that sick. we are not seeing wards, icus, pediatric hospitals full of kids on ventilators. when children get covid, probably more reliably test positive for rna fragments of
11:13 pm
covid and they simply don't get that sick. this is the idea that kids in-person schools and they need to go five days a week. and we need to show them the road just like they are doing in sweden and other european countries. >> laura: here is another point, dr. smith, nancy pelosi is often saying, look, we need to listen to the scientist. not scientists actually treating patients, but scientists, but behind the scenes, we found out something different. she reportedly said to steven mnuchin and white house staff mark meadows that dr. birx is the worst, wow, what horrible hands you are in, pelosi said. so i guess if you don't preen for the camera and pose for "people" magazine, pelosi trashes you? what about that?
11:14 pm
>> the whole thing is unbelievable, again, dr. fauci is right that we have to look at data. that is correct and we have to lookok at data fairly. and that has not been done. and to demonize people basically from their interpretation of the data is unbelievably wrong. i just can't get over the response to a drug that is so safefe and does work. >> laura: gentlemen, you have been two voices that are present and both for science and for the people suffering and for the country as a whole and we realla appreciate it. thank you so much. and ahead despite the removal of some federal agents, portland writers are more tactics so what is their goal? the city council is taking a first step towards dismantling the entire police department. sara carter, lara logan, oh, boy, they will react to that next. ♪ artment. sara carter, laura
