tv The Ingraham Angle FOX News August 5, 2020 11:00pm-12:00am PDT
11:00 pm
my good friend david limbaugh will be interviewing me. you also get to as clinicians, by the way tomorrow 10:30 eastern, hugh hewitt will be moderating a life signing hosted by the nixon library. all details 6:30 eastern tomorrow, let not your heart be troubled. laura? >> laura: hannity, i have a question. the only thing you could n possibly reach new heights as number one, can you do better than that? you are such a slouch and slacker, multiple events, three hour radio show, tv, signing, this, that. are you crocheting anything these days? >> sean: i have really figured out... you are my other sister. you treat me the way they do. they constantly put me in my place my place. >> laura: hannity, i call them in the morning and i say, i got to go, my sensei is here. sensei? i can't even get you on the
11:01 pm
phone! you are booked up. can't get you on the phone. hannity, i'm so proud of you. congratulations. >> sean: bow in. thank you. take it away. >> laura: i'm laura ingraham and this is this is "the ingraham angle" from washington tonight. what a show we have for you. dinesh d'souza here on the michigan governor declaring racism a public health, crisis, what this means for you. congressman sally kelly loeffler under attack for her refusal to support the blm movement.. the u the atlanta dream owner about why she continues to not back down. and biden, the focus of tonight's angle but we tore off the lid off of liberal lies about president trump's handling of the coronavirus.
11:02 pm
the fallout could've been far worse had he not shut down travel early and reopening the economy when he did. hospital systems in a few states were stretched but not overwhelmed. given the democrats' constant wailing of what trump supposedly got wrong, we decided tonight to sketch out what the situation would've looked like had joe biden andoo the democrats bn in chargee instead. first, biden would not have bands travel from band china from biden was still worrying about hurting china's feelings. >> overtly dismissive or spreading misinformation is only going to hurt us and further advantage the spread of the disease. but neither should we panic or fall back on xenophobia, labeling covid-19 a "foreign virus" does not displace
11:03 pm
accountability for the misjudgments that have been taken thus far by the trump administration. >> laura: worried about xenophobia, not the virus! not only would biden not have banned from china but would've awarded the it's clear under biden, there would be no tariffs and thus the chinese concessions. >> some would say trump's stance is a good one to counter china's influence. would you keep the tariffs? >> no. who says that trump's idea is aa good one? >> laura: he wouldn't get rid of the tariffs, day one. a biden presidency is a dream scenario for the ccp. given that the w.h.o. has been how has been dealing with them, he suggests how that would help? you know biden wouldn't have
11:04 pm
banned from travel from europe either, europe's feelings and a travel ban than what was more important than americans. have been, can't offend the french. >> as we've seen it will not stop it. and travelers based on favoritism and politics rather than risk will be counterproductive. >> laura: you can't make this up. and under biden, illegals, they keep pouring in. forget ramped up border enforcement under biden at all. even european countries locked up their borders for three months but joe would never consider a crackdownwn on illegl border crossing even during a pandemic that he'd open the i.c.e. facilities, release all detainees, and maybe ask questions later. after all, what would jorge ramos say?
11:05 pm
>> trump campaigned on build that wall. are you willing to tear the wall down? >> there will not be another foot of wall constructed in my administration. >> laura: of course, the border fence on the walls, they are meant to force foreigners to formal points of entry where we at least can do some minimal screening for illnesses. but biden will always choose open borders ahead of the health, safety, and economic well-being of americans. number three, biden would keep you locked down at least until 2021. while he's letting millions of illegalli americans flood the markets and bringing in more cases of covid, he'll make sure you're still locked on in your home and her kids were out of school. his allies and politics in the press messaging biden's plan? they spilled the beans. >> if you are not going to stay at home and you are not going to wear masks in public, we have to
11:06 pm
enforce and we will. >> this could have been a very different summer if we had a better locked down, and lockdo lockdown. >> any concern you've gone too far in any way with the stay-at-home restrictions? >> no. >> laura: and biden hinted at this himself just last week. >> from the beginning in my view, the president has given us a false choice. he said that we have to get back to work. and also deal with covid. you can't get this country going again unless you get covid under control. >> laura: you know what that means. number four, biden's lockdowns would obliterate the recovery for the cost of taking the country back to the lockdown would be staggering. e >> this idea of more lockdown, people just throw this out willy-nilly, forgetting the enormous human cost as well as
11:07 pm
the enormousl t economic costs. the country can't take that and there's no reason for that. >> laura: biden's lockdowns would also lead to more health crises. even with a limited temporary lockdown things were bad and imagine if it continued for most of the year. last month, "the washington post" reported that suspected overdoses nationally jumped 18% in march, 29% in april, and 42% in may. lockdowns around the world are leading to a resurgence of things like tuberculosis, hiv, and malaria. "the new york times" reporting that a three month lockdown across parts of the world and a gradual return of ten months can result in an additional 3.6 million cases of tb, 1.4 million deaths. worst-case scenario, deaths from malaria could double to 770,000 per year. number six, biden would use the pandemic to ram through far left policies. and of course, the old saying,
11:08 pm
never let a crisis go to waste, would be biden's pandemic mottot >> i truly think that if we do this right, we have an incredible opportunity to not just dig out of this crisis but to fundamentally transform the country. >> laura: wouldn't be a country left. we all know what that means. ramming through every socialist wish lists idea. empty out the prisons, single se payer health care, government child care, universal basict income, and reparations. talking about transferring our country, of course he gets a free pass from the media. no antioxidants no antagonistic interviewswith y profiles of from his vice president how she's a first, and how she is a global superstar. this laundry list of horribles should make all americans think about votingou for change, think
11:09 pm
twice about it in november. given the violins in the streets and the leftward turn of the democrats, we know what biden will bring. not the hope and change obama promised 12 years ago, it'll be far more radical. there is far more at stake. but they hope their lives and their misdirectionn will make yu forget about the unparalleled prosperity that we enjoyed before the pandemic hit, and what we are on the hour way of o seeing again under president trump. would you rather go back to that normal or experience the new normal that democrats are giving us a glimpse of in california and in new york?k and on the streets of chicago and baltimore? in joe's new society, you will's be poorer, less safe, less free, and your kids will be less educated. at that point, a virus will be the least of our problems. and that's the angle.
11:10 pm
joiningg me now is alex berens, former "new york times"fo reporter, author of "unreported truths of covid-19 and lockdown," part of which came out yesterday. and he'll tell him i the president says the science demands us to go back into lockdown. since he's literally written the book on this, what are they missing? >> what they are missing..., first of all what they are missing is for 15 years, the w.h.o., the cdc, experts on this thought a lockdown would be a terrible idea. they also thought that border closings and travel restrictions like that would be a bad idea. the people looked at this the hardest for the longest for a long time all said the same thing which is, you know, wash your hands, sneeze into your elbow, and there is only so much you can do about this and trying to do too much is likely to cause pain as it is to do anyof
11:11 pm
good. fast-forward to march, all of a sudden we all panic and the media leads that panic. other outlets lead that panic. and suddenly in a matter of days, we throw out 15 years of advice. that's what was so stunning in writing this book, what we are seeing is how strong the advice really was and how consistent it really was. we throw out all this advice and we are now five months later and it's fascinating. sweden which didn't mark down at eaall appears to be done with is pandemic. we'll see. but it looks like they are through it. in the sun belt states the last few weeks there have been a spike in positive tests, some spikes and hospitalizations, but the debts are i much lower than they were in the northeast in march and april, which locks down really hard really fast. if you look at a country level or a state level, where is the support for lockdowns? that's what people warned us about.ha that's what's so fascinating about this. we were told what would happen. >> laura: i warned about it, i
11:12 pm
know you warned about it, we knew what was going to happen and fortunately most of it did happen. phil, this is what the architect eof obamacare has to say about reopening school. >> you cannot consider opening in most states in the country now. a lot of contact sports are out, that's not a good idea. you have to not use the cafeteria were crowding can take place. reduce the crowds, reduce the congestion, reduce time that kids spend with other kids and teachers. >> laura: he should lose his medical license for saying that, phil. kids should spend less time with other kids in a disease that has an infinitesimally small rate of infection and mortality among kids?? >> the cdc says the risk of a school age child dying from covid is about one and 1 million, 5-10 times less the risk of dying from flu. the pediatric infection rates
11:13 pm
are also low. when they do get infected, it's very unlikely to cause any kind of serious illness. the head of the cdc use, it has very limited pathogenicity for anyone under the age of 45 unless they have other serious pre-existing conditions. this is not a situation in which children are in any danger but children are being scapegoated, punished, denied social interaction we've unfortunately seen a very steep rise in pediatric suicide and drug overdose that the cdc says dwarfs the number of pediatric covid deaths so that's a reckless thing to say, damagingm thing to say and something t importantly that results in the death of children as we see school systems across the country extend their closures out into the fall. >> laura: this is medical malpractice, journalistic c malefactomalpractice, and some s political malpractice. i want you to listen to what dr. powell she has to say about americans who disagree with some of what he has advised. >> there is a degree of
11:14 pm
antiscience feeling in this country.at it's almost related to authority and the mistrust and authority that spills over and they are pushing back on authority, pushing back on government do it it's the same as pushing back on science. we need to be more transparent. >> laura: alex, did the experts give us any reason to distrust what they have said about this virus, given everything you have documented and everything you have seen? it's an insult to the american public to say we are antiscience when we question what they have tried to cram down without a vote. >> it's much worse than that, laura. you can find without trying very hard quotes from the cdc, the w.h.o., the institute of medicine, brand, the very best scientific authorities. not just in the u.s., the swedish,nd german, dutch medical national authorities all talking about the risk in schools, or
11:15 pm
the lack thereof, all talking inabout what we should or shouldn't do in a pandemic. just because i'm quoting you in a way we don't like or courting your agency in the way you don't atlike because it reminds you of stuff you said before march that you wish you could make go away does not mean i'm antiscience. it means i'm doing my job as a journalist. that's something else that we have forgotten. all these reporters who are ephappy to get in the face of te president -- i understand that is their right, that is their duty. theyot will not ask tough questions of dr. fauci or anyone else who has claims of scientific authority and that's a complete failure. >> laura: i think i've asked some of the toughest questions of dr. fauci from the beginning. phil, despite being smacked down by governor hogan of maryland, montgomery county through its unelected health official dr. travis gale is still claiming they have the authority to order parochial and other nonpublic schools closed for in school teaching, saying they
11:16 pm
continue to base their public health positions on the data on the signs. your reaction to this on a nonpublic school ruling, phil? >> montgomery county maryland is averaging five peopleer presentg out of emergency rooms per day with covid like symptoms. the prison positive in this testing is 2.3%, half the level that deborah birx, the most anti-school of all the experts says it's safe to open schools. we all know what this is about,o this is about the public-school union which both the closure even though the health departmentt would've been fine with them open not wanting people to disenroll and go to the public and private schools and catholic schools that are open because they will lose money as a confluence of that. this is grotesque politics, an example of liberal politicians insisting on the equal sharing of misery by imposing on the private school children to match
11:17 pm
was being imposed on public school children. it is being challenged in court and i think the order is illegal. >> laura: gentlemen, thank you so much. great to see you both tonight as always. some of the left's most pernicious lies dealing with covid has to do with what may be a potential prophylactic treatment, off label use of hydroxychloroquine. we were the first show to discuss this and we haven't dropped it for they gleefully hyped negative studies, many of them flawed.'v we've discussed the ad nauseam him on the show, but they bury any good news. will they be able to ignore the latest research using data collected from more than 2.6 billion people around the world, a new study finding that the risk of deaths from covid is 79% lower in countries where hcq was widespread and used early on versus those were it was limited. joining me now is dr. romine oskoui, original member of the
11:18 pm
medical cabinet. dr. oskoui, is this data legitimate? >> iat think it is legitimate ad they provide over 150 references to support their findings. the dock element data is really damning, countries that don't spend 30% of their gdp on health care have done incredibly well with covid. it's reallyit devastating to d dr. fauci, dr. hong, r.dr. redfield and their performance. i think they need to be held to account. >> laura: we've heard dr. redfield -- i can't remember who said the other day that we have to move on from this. we have to move on from hydroxychloroquine. what? what are you talking about? they are threatening the medical license of that doctor in texas, the woman who went viral, trying to completely be malicious towards her? she said, i'm trying to save lives, that's all i'm trying to
11:19 pm
do. not being political, just trying to save lives. they are threatening people now. >> physicians have fiduciary responsibility to act in the best interest of their patients. hydroxychloroquine as we know is very safe, it's been around for 65 years. my ownno article in the british medical journal looked at the cardiac safety in covid patients specifically. clearly show that this was safe as well. i think the real question, laura, given how much money we've spent this way, we have to ask ourselves whether corporate and institutional research has really twisted my perverted how we have handled this crisis and lead us to have a very poor response, frankly. >> laura: president trump seems to understand this. understand how big pharma is against efforts to lower drug prices to that executive order and have the most favored nation status. he gets it. but someone around president trump doesn't get it and it's clearly at the fda.
11:20 pm
clearly it's at the nih. a lot of a bucks floating around there. dr. jonathan reiner made the point about health and heart with hcq on cnn today. let's watch. >> this drug can hurt people. if used without careful ekg monitoring, this drug can cause fatal arrhythmia. the reason this drug has been safe in clinical trials it was studied carefully int clinical trials in most patients were monitored. much different than being out of the community. >> laura: you are a cardiologist. he is not. your response? >> dr. reiner is a cardiologist -- >> laura: oh oh, he is? >> but jonathan has not read the literature. he is not up to speed in this area of medicine and the fact is that this drug is been used for decades without any cardiac monitoring and it has been used safely and closely monitored patients in france, united states throughout the world with tremendous results. if this pill was so dangerous,
11:21 pm
why do we see countries that clearly don't have the ability to monitor these patients so carefully having such tremendously positive outcomes? look for yourself, they list all the references. >> laura: turkey is one of them. dr. oskoui, thank you and i love being corrected by you. thanks so much. first, michigan's witless witmer devastated her state with lockdowns and signed a directive recognizing racism as a public health crisis? why which you do this and what's at stake? dinesh d'souza explains it all. hike!
quote
11:25 pm
simon pagenaud takes the lead at the indy 500! coming to the green flag, racing at daytona. they're off... in the kentucky derby. rory mcllroy is a two time champion at east lake. he scores! stanley cup champions! touchdown! only mahomes. the big events are back and xfinity is your home for the return of live sports.
11:26 pm
>> today i also signed an executive director declaring racism as a public health crisis in michigan. this pandemic has confirmed and highlighted the danger of reflects long-standing, deep, societal, and economic disparities. >> laura: stay with me here. the real public health crisis according to witless whitmer is not covid, its racism. she also mandated that state employees go through "implicit bias training" and created a black leadership advisory
11:27 pm
council to eradicate racial inequality in her state. joining me now is the next desousa, author of "the united states of socialism," writer and director of a film that will be out in any moment, "be a five card." dineshe, this feels all about governor whitmer and the democrats consolidating power, but what are they really doing here? >> they are unleashing this allegation is balloons that have become h completely untethered from their original source. i think this is where the new george floyd videos are very illuminating. not only because they show that george was resisting arrest from start to finish, but more importantly, it's not even clear that this was about race at all. it's very eye-opening to watch and realize that race may not have even entered the equation. what the left has done is build a gigantic narrative on top of george floyd, one that is obsessed with race.
11:28 pm
racism in sports, racism in education, racism and health care. as somehow the virus itself is racist.. of course we have health care problems. obesity, probably the biggest disparity in health care right now is caused by going to black lives matter's riots and rallies because i that is surely one eay way to get the virus so if you want to reduce racial disparities in health care, stop going to the riots. >> laura: it's so bad now that you have these hollywood celebrities issuing these tearful on camera apologies for having weddings that, i guess, all facilities that used to beg plantations. they are apologizing for that, apologizing for playing a role where their race doesn't quite match the original character in a biopic, like nina simone. this is wild. >> these are not genuine
11:29 pm
confessions because people who really think they haved privilege, undeserved privilege, you notice they never actually give up that privilege. a student for example on a campus that says my physician here at yale is clearly the result of white privilege. if i say to him on campus, why don't you go to the registrar's office tomorrow, withdraw from yale, and turn over your position to an eligible minority, they go, no, i wouldn't dream of doing that, i want to stay here and fight racism. in other words, the bottom line of it is this is a form of pointless virtue signaling that is actually an assertion of power over other students in this bogus claim of moral superiority. >> laura: i think i'm at the next, a lot of it is racist because you are boiling down skin color which i thought we were trying to get awaye from ad treat each other as human bein human beings, that includes george floyd should be treated
11:30 pm
as a unique human being, something of a different skin color -- everybody should be treated equally which i know is may be a dream, not going to happen ever perfectly, but that's supposed to be the ideal. but that's not really what they want. >> the reason they don't want it is becausena the original formua toto move america in a socialist direction was class warfare, the revolt of the working class. that has never happened. the left has realize there are actually sores of racial grievance in this country and by using racial division to substitute for class division, they are hoping ultimately to achieve goals that couldn't be achieved in any other way. in other words, to move us more towards government control over our economy. >> laura: dinesh, great to see you tonight. thanks so much. shutdown fatigue is turning intd shutdown fury and combined with backfiring the blm protest, some of the things dinesh is talking
11:31 pm
about, it might drive new voters away from biden. a crop of swing state surveysf that biden's strategy of embracing these radicals may be faulting. according to zogby polls, trump is closing the gap with biden in florida and ohio. a monmouth university poll has trump with a three-point lead in iowa. joining me now, trump 2020 holster, also had a h harris hil paul tonight, a national poll showing a seven-point lead for biden is now down to three points. interesting. that was two weeks ago where biden was up seven points. what's at the heart of these apparent shifts? >> we know we are winning. in the campaign, we ran like underdogs but we know we are winning. the president's message is strong. ever since his mount rushmore speech, growing jobs, he shows
11:32 pm
he knows how he can take care of a nation and keep a strong and keep us safe. and now, i've been on your show for months talking about the fake media polls that t would he too many adults are too many voters that would dilute the number of republicans. now you are getting likely reports. you have the rasmussen reports who have us down by three, but we was down by three nationally four years ago and that's how we won. we t won the key battleground states. also if we win the states that zogby has shown that he's got a tie in florida, got us in pennsylvania, and all those battlegrounds, monmouth in iowa, this is way earlier than 2016 when we were trailing hillary clinton at this point. so the president is running strong, running like an underdog, people are responding, and biden won't commit to the debates. i mean, still in the basement. they are hoping that people remain sick and shut down.
11:33 pm
>> laura: hold on from a biden is not going o to his own convention. that was announced today. so not going to wisconsin. i still say he doesn't debates be five. i know they say he's going to de it. he can't get through a minute or two without some major verbal blunder. we all screwed upp occasionallyp seems like this is a constant for him. yet they raked trump over the coals every time he does an interview that might not be his best. i don't think the ax , axios interview is something i would've done. they are focusing on the racial grievance game, getting tired of it, they are sick of thesean shutdowns. i think that's driving the whole narrative right now. close and out. >> they want the country to be strong and safe and there's only one candidate that can make country strong and safe. going to prove it again that we need jobs, we need people
11:34 pm
healthy, strong, safe. tomorrow the president will be in ohio talking about precisely how he's bringing manufacturing jobs back from china number right? that's something that joe biden -- he wants the most favored nation status. >> laura: we've got to roll, but biden said he would get rid of the tariffs on china.o will have you back soon. thanks very much for the update. and even as murders spike by double digits, only one l.a. county supervisor voted against taking hundreds of millions of dollars away from the l.a.p.d. she is here and she'll tell us why she voted that way. plus despite new tactics by the players, wnba owner and senator kelly loeffler refuses to bow down blm. she's here exclusively tell us why.
11:35 pm

11:39 pm
11:40 pm
told us that the lockdowns would reduce crime? in the wake of these mass protests and riots, we know murder is on the rise in major cities. the rates are way up, 14% in l.a. just in this time last year. despite this troubling trend, the l.a. board of supervisors voted on a proposal to gut its tsiminal justice system. for more on the story, let's go live to l.a. where kt tvs vilma isstanding by. bill? >> good evening. this proposal is big talk about here in l.a. it's called reimagining los angeles county and essentially in a nutshell what it would do is it would potentially strip away about $400 million away from local law enforcement. the sheriff, the d.a., the court system and instead redistribute that money to local social programs in underserved communities. this is going to go out on the ballot for voters this november and the l.a. county sheriff says there is no sugar coating that
11:41 pm
is, feels blatant attempt to defund local sheriff departments. he said it's going to have a catastrophic effect on public safety. he says if it does pass, it's immediately going to cut $173 million from his department on top of 145 million that the l.a. county board of supervisors already cut from his budget. he said if this happens he's going to have to lay off more than a thousand deputies, close up to five patrol stations, greatly reduce patrols to unincorporated areas and even closed down some jails. he said this would end up hurting the minority and low income communities that l.a. county things they are protecting with this proposal. take a listen to what he had to say to me in an interview. >> this motion is basically laying the groundwork line. they are going to fund all of their a ideas, the pet projects, through the sheriff departments.
11:42 pm
>> and only one l.a. county supervisor voted against this prayer that was supervisor kathryn barger. she expressed concern about budgetss issues and potential ms layoffs with county staff if this gets approved in the fall, it'll permanently change l.a. county charter, reallocate to those social programs, and law enforcement will not be able to access that money at all. >> laura: thanks so much. we are going to have that loan l.a. county supervisor on now who voted against taking money from law enforcement, kathryn barger. kathryn, thank you for being with us tonight. murders in l.a. are of more than 14% since last year. so why would any of your colleagues regardless of politics be in favor of defunding the police at this time? >> i think there is a movement across the nationn to take money
11:43 pm
away from law enforcement and place it in programs, especially in the inner i cities, what i've said all along is it shouldn't be either or. we need to invest in services outside of law enforcement because quite frankly law enforcement is taking the place of work that may be social workers and others should be doing, but we don't have enough of it. i think my frustration is that to defund law enforcement and call it reimagining is a bunch of baloney. i think what frustrates me is the voters are going to look at the title and believe this is something positive, not recognizing what it's doing is taking money away from public safety. it's not just the seraph, it's the d.a., the prosecutors, it's going to impact the county in ways that if it passes will impact generations to come. >> laura: kathryn, what i found interesting is this new gallup poll that found that 81% of black americans want police to spend the same amount of time or more in their area.
11:44 pm
this whole thing is about black lives, then why are we voting, the l.a. county supervisors and more democrats doing thiss question if you will not have more police spending more time in these troubled areas if you are cutting $400 million. that's just not going to happen. >> it's not going to happen. i think the reality is is that i it's going before the voters because many politicians are afraid of being blamed. out here we have 109 to transfer prisoners down to local jurisdictions. they got a backlash, a lot of people upset transferring to communities and crime went up. they -- i hope people read the fine print when they are voting for propositions in the state. we seem to be governing through propositions now and through the ballot, i think voters don't recognize the applications they
11:45 pm
have on their community. >> laura: it's going to be staggering and i love california. still a member of the california bar. maybe i should come out and argue some of the cases out here. great to see you tonight. and for refusing to ban the need to blm, senator and team owner kelly loeffler is once again under attack from the wnba. to explain why she still will not back down next. hike!
11:48 pm
simon pagenaud takes the lead at the indy 500! coming to the green flag, racing at daytona. they're off... in the kentucky derby. rory mcllroy is a two time champion at east lake. he scores! stanley cup champions! touchdown! only mahomes. the big events are back and xfinity is your home for the return of live sports.
11:50 pm
>> laura: last month we got a big reaction. we told you about how the wnba players tried to counsel delma canceled team owner and senator kelly loeffler coming out against the radical agenda omof their blm movement or they are not trying to chase her out of the nba, they are going after senate seat. players openly endorsing one of herngof challengers, the referea raphael laura knox which loefflercolognes and a ch, senator so joins me now appear what's your response to all this? i thought it was about winning games. now it's about winning senate seats? >> thanks for having me on.
11:51 pm
it really proves my point. this isn't about playing basketball. it's about playing politics. it truly is about politics. look, and has a right that you and want to for. but because i stood up for our american flag, suggest we replace that with the divisive idea of this political organization, black lives matter -- not the statement, we all agree with the statement, but this political organization that wants to defund the police, promotes anti-semitism and violence and doesn't believe in the nuclear family? we are talking moms and dads, how can the league support that, let stand for the flag, the players have walked out during the national anthem. i had to draw the line and i had to speakdr out. >> here is who reportedly orchestrated this new campaign against you. "the new york times" is reporting that one of your own players, elizabeth williams, the idea to publicly endorse came

from sue bird. both executives in the players union, top abrams joined at the board of advocates last summer, so now stacey abrams? she has nothing else to do? she is involved? this is just so petty. i don't see who brings more people into watching the wnba. i think this turns people off. people want people to be treated equally and well and want people to have full, wonderful lives. but this is just mind-numbingly absurd atsu this point. >> you are right because stacy abrams has endorsed my opponent so it's blatantly clear that this is all about politics and not about the unity that sports can provide. i grew up playing sports. i think we all know the power that sports have to bring people

together from all walks of life. to support people from different backgrounds, the tolerance that you can get by being part of sports, that's been totally eradicated in this moment because i have a conservative voice, they want me out, they want to cancel me, basically saying sports are not big enough for conservatives. i will always stand up for a conservative voice and for all americans who don't feel like they have a voice right now. >> laura: elizabeth williams, is just mentioned on one knee very players why they wore a t-shirt, this is what she said. >> we wanted to come in come out currently running for u.s. senate right now. supports everything to all the players in the wnba support. we want to make a statement and be really vocal about that.ut >> laura: all the players in the wnba? not one player, everybody has to have the same orthodoxy? everything is uniform? no dissent ever apparently.

>> we've gone from a league of being one of tolerance and unity and diversity to being intolerant. i think that is a cautionary tale. this is the direction, emblematic of what's happening across the country. this isn't about me. i'm standing up because i have a platform for americans who feel like they can have a voice. i am speaking out. i'm worried about the student, the business owner, the employee that feels like they are silenced because of this so i will not stop speaking out. >> laura: may be intimidation of playerser who disagree with this but who are afraid to commit maybe there are not that many, but i bet there are a few. senator, thanks so much. up next to him what's the one phrase that biden can't live without? i reveal it next. ..

i am very willing to let the american public does my physical and -- as well as my mental fitness. >> are you sure about that? that is all-time we have tonight. shannon bream, take it from here, come on, shannon. i am going to do that every night now. shannon: i will receive it. we start with breaking news from los angeles, democratic mayor eric garcetti announcing homeowners, holding parties could have their water and power turned off. all nightclubs and bars have been closed.
