joining us live michael burgess. thank you for being here. that is the question. is the president going to step in and use executive action? >> reporter: you are going to see something happen. at jobs numbers release for the month of july, that will happen soon and that's will be an indicator as to whether the economy has continued to recover or has faltered. that may provide something. the president had some things at his disposal he can do and should do. what is wrong is the fact that democrats have in their position in two months, nothing has changed in the past two months. trying to accomplish their political goals or this right now, needs to be applied.

>> americans who desperately need help when seeing this back and forth and no one budging at all. >> realistically congress should have done more but you put an unacceptable product two months ago and we are not talking any further, that is not a negotiation. people understand that. todd: a lot of the focus, should schools reopen. we are getting close. a lot of states including georgia have started school or what their normal school year would be. a number of states open until august. should students and teachers return to the classroom? >> bottom line is they need to find a way for in person learning that will take place this year.

it is possible. the amount of testing that is now available is significantly more than was present in the month of april and may when schools were closed. there is the ability to do a great deal more testing, the fact that testing of low-risk populations, so numbers of people tested can be vastly expanded. all of that needs to be taken into consideration but bottom line is we need to find a way, too much is being lost, you'll me go to first grade once. you cannot lose their chance across the board. >> talk about testing. there are still areas of this country seeing days if not weeks for test results to come back as

we are talking schools that are supposed to be starting in a few weeks for kids. i don't see how we are going to make progress in that short appear go of time at this point. do you? >> the testing capability is there. it needs to be applied a little differently and that is why -- a low-risk population where you put a number of samples together to get the results and once the group is cleared, you don't need all the additional tests being done right now. it is important that people who are in a tough clinical situation to get the clinical information they need in the time they do this but there are other ways of testing, testing can be done more broadly, testing at university labs and research labs that can be done and simply applied as a population measure. this population does not have the prevalence of disease within person learning in the school district at this time. that can be done with today's

gun sales are 122% since last july. that is a shocking number. do you see voters who don't like the president, who didn't vote for him in 2016 voting for him now because for them gun rights are issue number one, and trump no pun intended everything else? >> absolutely, when you talk to people in the community they are afraid the rights will come to their neighborhoods. they fuel saying need to take care of themselves and that is why we are having guns there and if you look at the numbers in cities in philadelphia where i am from crime is up 50%. there is nobody in order. it is propagated by the democratic party. a lot of people will go out and vote for donald trump in november. everything the democrats are trying to do is backfiring. >> these numbers are fascinating

young americans for liberty had a event scheduled mobilize 2020 supposed to be august sixth, seventh, and eighth and the city of dallas waited until 72 hours before our event. we had the staging, the banners, equipment at the loading dock when they decided to pull the plug. pretty frustrating for us because they had plenty of time, gave us full approval on doing the event but waiting until the last minute just reeks of political bias and it is frustrating with protests currently going on 40 days straight in the city of dallas and they let the protests happen but yet 1400 students who want to comply and peacefully assemble for an educational event get shutdown. it is hypocrisy and double standard and it frustrating from our perspective. jillian: the statement from the

city of dallas, large indoor gatherings have been canceled to comply with governor abbott's general order, 29 issued july 2nd. please note most outdoor demonstrations are not granted permits, first amendment activities are protected. did you talk about trying to do this to avoid something like this happening? >> if you give a bureaucrat an inch they will take a mile of your freedom as we worked with them every step of the way, they through different requirements, you have to wear masks, we said okay, you have to do boxed lunches, we said okay, travel mates had to be roommates, we said okay, about three different social distancing guidelines that is in every step of the way we said okay but they waited until the last minute to pull the plug. i asked the health secretary philip wong in dallas why in the world, how do you justify letting protests happen when we are coming together for a

mayor bill de blasio coming out swinging in response to governor cuomo begging rich new yorkers to return to the big apple. jillian: carley shimkus here with reaction to the empire state fighting. carley: that is right new york city mayor bill de blasio was wrong to ask wealthy new yorkers to come on back to the big apple. the mayor is also threatening to raise taxes on rich people if the federal government failed to provide assistance. now, governor cuomo is fighting that tax hike saying it would only cause more people to leave and all of this is leading to some social media reaction. yeah, wealthy families are leaving. working families are struggling and you, mayor de blasio, are too busy painting and repainting the street. see the problem? another commenter chiming in saying these two literally remind me of a bad "saturday night live" skit.
