missile. general pa psaki the white house communication director you could certainly see techni cratic eye rolling at times. leon pa netted particular he was loyal in every way standing by him even probably when he disagreed to some extent he oftentimes felt that that loyalty was not being rewarded, will. so, is this a relationship that's maybe being overbehind? one point that stands out to me is jen psaki's quote. paints the difference between the trump and obama and joe biden administration. they are cut from the same cloth. off the cuff and feeling their way through it. i want to read past that jen psaki quote where it said the tecnacrats roll their eye. elderly uncle at thanksgiving launch into extended monologues that everyone had heard before.

the question is who is biden today some 10 years later? is he still that retail politician? >> we all know about the biden gaffes. we have seen them play out right before our eyes. no one knows that better than president obama. he knows what it is like to work with joe biden. i think he was very hesitant to put his stamp of approval on that. sitting back and waiting and saying hold on a second. whether they are friends or not, he has his own legacy to uphold. people trust his judgement and that left wing base. they look at him and say this is a guy who we have restreempleted we felt he was successful and trust his judgment. him to put his stamp of approval on a guy something is not right here in terms of potentially his health or potentially just his ability to articulate policy well. will will you got rivalry going on between president obama and joe biden. what is donald trump, president trump doing? well, he is checking out the

swing states. let's see where he is monday he is in minnesota and wisconsin. tuesday he is in arizona. thursday, he is in pennsylvania and this is an opportunity for president trump to say this is what i'm about. it's a very difficult time as we talked about. we are in the midst of a pandemic. the economy has been hit hard. a lot of businesses have been struggling. have you crime erupting in many cities across the country. this is an opportunity for president trump to do what he does best to be right there on the ground and say this is why you should reelect me. pete: one more unsourced quote from that article. obama apparently said don't estimate joe's ability to bleep things up. we will see where that friendship is. what we're testing right now is you have got a virtual convention, guys. a virtual convention for joe biden it. used to be an absolute domination of media coverage. when the convention is happening. everything is wall-to-wall, it's your chance to interview introduce yourself to the american people. will that be the case with the virtual convention and the president is making the case i'm going to crisscross swing states at the same time and see if i can compete for the very same

coverage and it will be very interesting to see whether this becomes a split screen moment or whether joe biden really gets that one week with a virtual convention to try to dominate the narrative. we shall see. but there is also new polling out from the fox news channel about the presidential race. again, remember, big grain of salt, these polls were not accurate in 2016. and they are national polls so what do they matter when you need t to win the swing states. >> here is the latest from the fox news channel. joe biden 49%. donald trump 42. more or less unchanged from last month. and, again, these polls were not correct in 2016. but, will, there was a portion of this and some commentary on it that is raising eyebrows about maybe that midden voter. will: it is. it's coming from the left from hbo's bill maher. the same thing you just will powells and polsters skepticism. is there more built up support for donald trump than the polls

currently show. here is what bill maher had to say about that on his show. >> biden is ahead but he is not to my view comfortably ahead. not for my comfort. hillary was ahead by more at some point. and i just got to ask what is your party doing against this walking disaster that you can't close the gap better than that. >> this would seem to support that position. another fox news poll that asks who do you think your neighbors are supporting for president? now, look at this. many suggested, in fact, 39% suggested their neighbors are going to vote for president trump. while they would vote for biden their neighbors would vote for president trump. meaning pete and jed, there is a lot of pent up support for president trump out there. recall. jedediah: people are afraid to say they support president trump and the criticism. that happened last time around. that's why the results were so

surprising to many. it's absolutely going to be this case that this time around you are going to have people that show up for these polls and voted for president trump and they weren't expected. to say they keep quiet because they don't want the criticism. let me keep my mouth shut and i will go in and vote for who i want and i won't have to answer for anyone they want criticize me. remains to be seen how many of those people are. i think more than people realize this time around. pete: think how revealing that is i may or may not share my view. my neighbors voting for president trump or unshare the fears of leftists we shall see. jedediah: we shall see. we will head to another big story we are covering right now. president trump is blasting democrats for holding up another round of coronavirus relief as both sides remain split on the integrity of mail-in ballots. mark meredith joins us live as the president says he is ready to send out stimulus checks. mark, what's the latest. >> jed, good morning to you. congress has left town so president trump is threatening to take action himself to

stimulate the economy. the president on friday had a chance to tweet out that he would send out additional stimulus checks. believe it or not, this is one area where we have actually season congress and the white house agree that checks should go out. but, of course, it's up to congress, not the white house, to try to find the money to make that happen. still, the president made it clear he wants those payments made eventually. >> i have directed the secretary of the treasury to get ready and send direct payments, 3400 for a family of four to all americans. democrats are holding this up. they want $1 trillion to go to their friends doing a bad job running certain cities and states that are doing very badly. >> stimulus checks aside the big fight this weekend is over funding for the u.s. postal service. the president says he would be willing to support additional funds for the usps like democrats have been asking for if they agree to other demands. meantime the post office is warning at least 46 states it

you have a cooperator that is going to plead guilty and you keep that indictment under seal so why now? why let the public know that an individual has pled guilty i think that durham know that he has the ability to bring the bring those indictments. i think it's a strong message to folks out there that are being investigated. help themselves out now is the time to do it. by the prosecutor. will: my understanding is he changed an email that essentially converted carter page from someone who was informing the cia of the united states on russia to

investigating him as to whether or not he was a spy for russia. what exactly is he pleading guilty to doing. >> yeah, it gets, you know, complicated when we try to digest every lit bit of information that's coming out but, in essence, he altered a document in order to secure a warrant. it's apparent that he did because the information that he was, you know, presenting and, keep in mind, when you are presenting it to this particular court it has to be vetted information. it has to be information that multi-pill levels levels of the fbi and department of justice have reviewed looked at verified that it's accurate. what did he was misrepresent to the court, in order to bring the court's suspension down or their analysis to make it easier for them and to more likely grant this warrant and, what's the significance of it?

parents in the community had petitioned our district and asked them about reopening and returning to in person education. so, it was driven by the community here and our district responded. will: imagine that listening to your constituents, responding and trusting them with their own risk assessment and decisions. that being said, coach, what will be the standard going forward? what kind of infection rate. what kind of spread? how will the school know if it has gotten out of hand in terms of spread of the coronavirus? >> well, we have the benchmark standard set by the maricopa county, the cdc, those types of things. the district has done all of those things and tried to go above and beyond as far as mitigation factors of social distancing, sanitation stations, mask requirements, staggering lunches, opening up open areas of the school to try to separate kids. auditoriums. those types of things. they are trying to do everything they can within the restrictions that we have from the health

experts so that that we can provide such a safe environment for the kids to come back. will: give me a sense if you could, coach. what percentage have opted into online learning and how many teachers have opted out of coming back to school? >> so, i don't specifically have the numbers of kids that are going to be coming back. so i teach, you know, strength conditioning, weights for the football team. and as far as i know now, the student body of queen creek is about 2100 students out of our school. and when the district has been doing survey and things before the decision was ever made, the numbers were coming back about 80% of the student body or the parents in our community were demanding or something for return-to-school. will: and the teachers? >> yeah, it was pretty similar. i don't have those specific numbers. will: we will have to look for that number of student, what percentage of students and teachers look to come back as schools welcome students back. coach, really appreciate your

i don't want that. i have a family here. this is going to be a very key issue for this coming election. pete: important to note this union in new york city has not made an endorsement like this before. they said we don't recall endorsing anyone in the past. for the nypd union to come out and support the president is a very big deal. and if you remember 2016, i mean, president trump made a big part of his candidacy about sovereignty, about protecting our borders. the lawlessness that was happening there an issue that really wasn't amplified nationally before. now joe biden, if you look at the ads he has put out recently he is trying to make the election about covid-19 and the covid response. president trump is saying hey, that's something we are addressing. but, law and order. lawlessness versus the support of the police, you, you know, you and your national need to make your own calculation about what's best for you. will: pete, if i may just really quickly a lot of the things that we debate in politics end up sounding theoretical it. could affect my life sometime in the distant future. law and order effects people's lives immediately and on the ground.

i just point you to the tragic story of cannon this isn't just a new york or chicago story. it's an american story and will affect the ballot box. pete: very much. so you talked about the distant future how about the not so distant past. you remember i just mentioned 2016. what happened there from the former obama administration as far as surveillance of the trump campaign. there has been a lot in the three and a half years that has unfolded. durham is still ongoing with his investigation. we were told there would be a break in the case yesterday. and there was. it turns out former fbi lawyer kevin clinesmith. he was in part of the fisa application. effectively changed the wording to make it -- there he is right there. there is young kevin. he changed directly what was written in the text about carter page to instead of admitting that carter page was a cia asset which he was he changed it to say no, he was not a cia asset. instead, therefore, implicated as the potentially helping the russians which opened up the

american culture. real news to get to as well. if you were pay ag tension over the last several years, you would have been forgiven if you thought that president obama and vice president joe biden were bffs. that they had been tight and tied at the hip. but a new report by politico suggests that's not necessarily the nature of the relationship. in this report by politico, there are several fascinating quotes from those side the obama administration. like this one from ben rhodes obama's former national security advisor. he said that in the war room, vice president was somewhat of an unguided missile. and the former white house communications director jen psaki said you could see the technocratic eyes rolling at times when biden spoke. and finally obama's secretary of defense leon panetta said he was loyal, i think, to obama in every way in terms of defending and standing by him even progressive when he disagreed. to some extent he often felt

and maybe obama is creating a little bit of distance or they recognize that distance has always been there, jed. jedediah: yeah, i think that president obama knows joe biden's weaknesses probably better than anyone. he probably had to cover up for them a lot. often sometimes you know joe biden would make those gaffes and at the time many people would laugh it off. but the problem is when you are the top guy in charge, that stuff becomes not so funny anymore. i think president obama at this point is a little bit concerned about being tied to joe biden because he doesn't really know what direction this whole campaign is going in. and i think that's legitimate. i don't know how much truth there is to these reports. sometimes i think this is like the politics version of like tmz where we get all excited for this gossip. but i do think it was odd the way that enforcement was delayed and that joe biden, for so long, was pushing that friendship almost like making it like see, see, we are really friends, see, see we really do get along. any time somebody does that in politics in media and life trying to cover up something

very sterile. meanwhile, president trump is going to be in swing states hand-to-hand, meeting people, talking to crowds. retail politics. it's essentially a zig to the democratic party's zag, pete. pete: that's a great point. the democratic wisdom has been particular party salute domination of the media narrative. one rule that president trump, candidate trump has followed is that there is no rules. that he will do it his own way. in this case he is saying i'm going to compete with your virtual convention from delaware. and i'm going to go straight to the people and try to create that split screen moment so that the conversation isn't just all about the fawning coverage of democrats. although the media will off and on. especially if you are watching only other networks. you know that's coming. but there was a big piece of news that came out this week with historic consequences as far as a piece deal reached by israel and the united arab emirates ushered along by president trump and the white

house. remember, just to step back for a moment, the state of israel when it was created was attacked by all of its neighbors, every single neighbor it had. it took years for jordan and egypt decades ago to sign peace deals with israel. israel is still at odds with most of the arab nations. well, to have signed a peace deal with the united arab emirates which recognizes israel's right to exist yes, in 2020, is a massive break through. they have been working together behind the scenes and the trump administration worked to make this relationship public. well guess who is trying to take credit for this piece deal, historic peace deal, yes, it's former vice president joe biden. here's a portion of what joe joe biden's camp is trying to say. they said the coming together of israel and arab states builds on the efforts of multiple administrations toy foster a broad arab israeli opening. including the efforts of the obama-biden administration to build on the arab peace initiative. while president trump reacted to that attempt for joe biden to

big issue. one that will be driving the news cycle for, unfortunately, months to come. what is the status? what is your expectation or your opinion on mail-in ballots in process that can be trusted? >> let's just take a recent case. new york had a primary race june 25th. we just got the results about a week ago. and of the ballots, 25% of them were disqualified. that's 145th of what would happen in a national election. here in indiana we can vote early. it's so convenient. you are doing it with the security of something that's been working. and, yes, if you do not want to go in person, have you got the ability with an absentee ballot. that does not mean that you do mail-in voting in total. i think it would be a catastrophe. we have had issues in new york that d.c., florida, many places. even the post office is putting

self-defense. over to you, will. will: thanks, jed. while some cities are looking to slash funding for their police departments, others are backing the blue. from north carolina to hawaii city council officials are pushing for refund the police next year. in some cases bruceing their budgets by millions of dollars. next guest says this will give officers the resources they desperately need. joining us thought is the president of the fort worth police officers association manny ramirez. thank you for being with us here today. i want to start out with a few facts if we could. let's focus on austin, texas. austin has become, i think, emblematic. fascinating cities suffering from the highest rise in crime rates ones looking to cut their blements. austin has cut almost a third from its budget. $150 million on a budget of 464 million. being cut from austin's police department. no coincidence, manny? austin tops the list of top 15 cities of the largest change in

homicides year over year. look at that year over year homicide rates. help me understands, this many. >> will, you know, absolutely what's going on right now that's weak, indecisive leadership. folks that don't want to bear the burden of running a police department. what they're doing is hurting the nation. they are hurting public safety in these cities. we know austin is not unique. austin is just a microcosm and direct result of portland. of seattle, of these areas where that ideology has been able to creep in and they think that it's okay to defund their police and make their communities less safe. and we know that's exactly the opposite of what these cities that are dealing with rising crime should do. and it's absolutely heart breaking because the officers that are throughout working the street, they want nothing more than to be able to keep their citizens safe. and these week politicians are making it impossible. >> one of those politicians austin city manager talked about the cuts in the police budget in austin. here is what he had to say this. budget takes us forward as a city.

i have also been clear we will have to come back and make adjustments not only because of the covid-19 pandemic but because of our desire to truly reimagine public safety. i'm not sure anymore what that means. reimagine public safety. >> yeah. and i don't think they know what it means either. but, overwhelmingly, we know that americans want to be safe. we know that americans want to feel secure. and we are blessed in fort worth texas that we have got citizens that just recently voted to refund our police department by a billion dollars over the next 10 years while authorize ago new sales tax. so we know that americans out there. american voters really do support public safety. they just don't have an outlet or a mouthpiece. what happens is at the lowest level of government. these elected officials are getting in place and they don't have the moral courage to stand up to the mob. will: seems to me if you want a reformed police department you might need to refund that police department. many, thank you for your time today. manny ramirez. >> thank you. will: study ahead, president trump says new york is in play.

trump says new york is in play with the spike in crime and high taxes. here to react assembly member and congressional candidate nicole. welcome to the show. when i saw this i said wait a second. new york, yes, is going through a crime spike but it is decidedly blue. could new york be in play? >> i certainly think so and parts of this state that trump will win overwhelmingly including my congressional district. this is a district he won by 10% currently held by a democrat in congress. we are going to take it back this year. we are excited about all of that and bringing fresh vision to this city and state because people are extremely upset with the rise in crime. the rise in taxes. they are really disgusted by the fact that our congressman marched with defund the police crowd in front of our local free sinct and this is happening all over the state. in fact, the people that complained the most are the ones that voted against the president in 2016. i think they are going to be reconsidering this november.

jedediah: so what are the key issues that president trump should be speaking about? i you mentioned the crime. i know that people have fled manhattan, have fled many of the bureaus as a result of feeling that bill de blasio, for example, does not -- is not supporting local law enforcement what should president trump be talking about in terms of targeting congressional seats for republicans? >> president trump and i are certainly on the same page when it comes to restoring law and order back to the streets of our city. you know, when you look at bill de blasio or max rose and their support for closing rikers island releasing prisoners, bail and defunding police. that is certainly something my don't support. certainly yesterday the new york city pba endorsed him. also, the economy, you know, our restaurants are struggling. they are saying one out of three restaurants in our city are not going to reopen because of the policies put in place right now by our mayor and governor that are keeping them shut down

despite us meeting the metrics to reopen. we have a major issue here economically and only president trump can fix this nationally, i believe. but certainly having him putting pressure on our mayor and governor when it comes to reopening our city. that's a huge issue as well. of course, the overall cost of living which we know the tax and spend mentality of democrats that is under one party rule here at the city and state level is a real major problem here and we have to stop voting in those elected officials who continue to hurt the working class and the middle class. jedediah: yeah, i mean, nicole, at this point someone in leadership is going to have to incentivize people to stay in new york and make them feel that it is a safe place that it's a safe place for their businesses, that their businesses can and will succeed and law enforcement someone needs to call the police that the police will be supported and will be able to come to their aid. so, remains to be seen how these election results will go. we will be watching closely. thanks so much for being here as always.

to attack, something to stick, and they seem to have only this attempt to tie a decidedly moderate ticket to the radical left. pete: they're not even hiding it , jed, they're just coming out trying to run cover for a campaign whose top of the ticket has said it'll be the most progressive ever, who then brings in kamala harris who was in 2019 deemed the most progressive meaning leftist member of the u.s. senate even moreso than ofly socialist bernie sanders, and yet she signed on to as we pointed out the green new deal medicare for all, open borders, effective ly defunding the police why are they running cover for her like that? jedediah: don't forget the gun buyback too throw that in there. yeah, it makes no sense, because she ran for president and she was out there talking about all these issues. i think what they're referencing is her record on criminal justice in california when she was the attorney general because many progressives feel that she wasn't progressive enough.

they took issue with her on that particular issue and because that issue is front and center right now, they are using that issue to say well, she's moderate, when in fact she's not moderate. many people have been talking about how she's a cam eel john and just does whatever some thinks will get her elected says whatever she thinks will get her elected and you saw when she ran in california, you're seeing it again now but if you look at her policy platforms, these are hard left platforms. there isn't a lot there, to distinguish her from what progressives deem the hard left of the warren, the aoc the bernie sanders, not a lot of difference there, will. will: you know, jed that's my biggest concern. is she principled, a far left audiolog, her voting record might suggest yes, but what i'm more concerned about is the biden/harris campaign hollow meaning is it ready and willing to be filled with the politics of the moment and the poll techs of the moment on the left require far left radicalism, and former president obama's speechwriter says kamala harris might be just the candidate then

eye is on the prize which is joe biden's job. pete: it's true. jedediah: that's such an important point too and important distinction is that whether you like elizabeth warren and aoc and bernie sanders or not, they are telling you exactly what they believe. there is an authenticity there in terms of what they say and what they believe. i don't feel that way about kamala harris and i wonder if voters are going to say well hold on a second. looking at her record compared to what she's saying right now those things don't jive. is she just a person of the moment who says what she thinks she needs to say, interesting whether or not she will actually bring out voters but now we're heading to another big story that we're covering because president trump is blasting democrats for holding up another round of coronavirus relief as both sides remain split on the integrity of mail- in ballots. mark meredith joins us live as the president says he's ready to send out stimulus checks. mark? >> jed good morning to you. well congress is still deadlocked on an overall stimulus package president trump is encouraging lawmakers and really his own staff to start

mailing out those additional stimulus checks fast. you'll remember at the start of the pandemic, congress approving those one-time direct payments depending on how much money you brought in the year prior. well now the president says it's time to do it again. president trump: i've directed the secretary of the treasury to get ready and send direct payments, 3,400 for a family of four to all americans. democrats are holding this up. they want $1 trillion to go to their friends doing a bad job running certain cities and states that are doing very badly >> reporter: but the president cannot send these checks out on his own. he needs congress to approve the cash and lawmakers aren't even due back in d.c. until next month unless there is a deal. meantime this weekend the biggest battle in washington really over the postal service. democrats demanding the president agree to spend billions more on usps to assist with several things including keeping up with the election. the post office is warning at

least 46 states because of the expected surge in mail-in voting that some ballots may not reach their destination before election day is over. congress has been demanding answers from the newly-installed postmaster general about this , and about his operations going into the election. the postmaster general had a chance to send a letter back to congress yesterday saying any sort of political drama about their operations will not make their jobs any easier as they get ready for what will likely be a historic november election. jed, pete and will, back to you guys. will: thanks a lot. 46 out of 50 states suggesting that mail-in balloting integrity cannot be ensured. this is going to be a massive story for months. i know its been caught in a political crossfire, who does and does not benefit, which party may ben it from from mail- in balloting but the truth of the matter is right now it is right for potential fraud. it's something we talked to senator mike brown about a little bit earlier on fox & friends. >> yes, if you do not want to go in-person, you've got the ability with an absentee

ballot. that does not mean that you do mail-in voting in total. i think it be a catastrophe because even the post office has put a warning out to states that they don't think they can do the job, so i think president trump is right on that, and we as americans, no one wants to have voters suppressed from doing what is our right to do. on the other hand, you want results that are to be tabulated quickly and accurately, mail-in ballots comprehensively, that's not going to work. jedediah: yeah and this is a huge challenge we're in because you have to protect the integrity of people's right to have their votes registered but we've never seen anything like this before. a pandemic you'll have more people that are going to want to be filling out these mail-in ballots than ever before, less people in-person at the polls so this is incredibly challenging and obviously you want to protect the integrity of the election at large and make sure the people who should be voting are voting and the people who shouldn't be voting are not voting, so that's going to

continue to be a story we'll follow. another story that has caught our eye that is truly unbelievable when you hear about it is california's wealth tax. check this out this could become the first of its kind in the united states under a new proposal in which residents who leave the state, you heard that right. they believe the state but they still have to pay taxes for up to 10 years. check out california assembly woman who proposed the plan talking about it on cavuto. >> we have a phased-in approach whereguy if you move in year one 90% of the tax bill applies, year two, 80% of the tax and so on for 10 years until it phases out. neil: after they move and they've left you're still taxing they're no longer california residents you can't legally do that. for 10 years the wealth was accumulated during their time in california. jedediah: this is insane. leave the state and they still want your money.

shine these lights to provide inspiration for everybody. >> no absolutely, pete. i mean i know frank and i know tunnel to towers the story of them stepping up when other people won't it's a song that's been played quite a bit. it's an amazing organization and i don't have an opinion on the two lights as much as reading the names. you know, when things like this happen, it takes an act of courage to stand up and say you know, some things in life are worth your effort and even risk and when those towers came down an entire generation assumed the risk not just physically of going to war but to show an entire country that was scared and frustrated that we'll get through it, and when we mark another year of surviving those towers coming down, surviving someone or something, some enemy trying to tear us down i think this year is as important as any. things like wearing a mask and staying six feet apart and washing our hands and protecting those most vulnerable, if any of that is true it can be implement ed and this is a worthy cause to do it so with the

many of them have been led to believe that these symbolic acts , kneeling during the national anthem, wearing t-shirts, they think they're having real impact, and pushing the country forward. i don't think they fully understand the civil rights movement of the 1950s and 60s. i don't think they understand a strategy that leads to growth and improvement. what they're doing. jedediah: jason, everything has gotten so political. many of us crave a time when you used to just be able to turn on a baseball game or a football game and have it just be about the sport. is that time ever going to return? >> it might. but i think it'll be a while, you know, it may be five, 10 years before sports ever gets back to that. i think there's going to have to

store novels of old west outlaws as we went around the country, i tried to get my kids into some of those same stories. we went frog eating. i did not grow up frog eating, but frog gigging is catching a big, live, bull frog and i'm talking like this big. you see , there they are and then you spotlight them and they will kind of freeze in the spotlight and then you creep up behind with a big gigging pole and it's a clamp and you get as close as you can and they will usually leap right when you go and you catch it and you bring in the frog. >> look at at that dude! by the way, we did catch and release it was all very humane, no animals were harmed just a lot of big smiles for children! when i was 25, i moved to montana, to write a book, i was essentially adopted into this montana family, which were ranchers and hunting outfitters

for generations. on this road trip we got to go back and visit that family, introduce them to my boys, hang out on the ranch, ride horses, shoe horses, and generally experience the great people of montana. america is awesome. it is gorgeous. it is all-inspiring. every single state had some surprising geographic beauty and history that was worth seeing and learning about, but more special than anything that i saw in america's natural beauty, honestly, is our people. they are innovative, resilient, they are independent and obstine nt, but they're considerate, patriotic, and they're friendly. americans are even more beautiful than america is. you know the last several months have been tough on americans.
