rioters did. while the big banks are pouring money into the biden campaign, they are know doing that because they want to see all of you get higher wages. no way! they see biden as their ticket to the days of outscouring. sending jobs overseas. they want globalization because those were the good old days. but not to you. the primary reason trump ran for office was to fight for american workers especially in the factory towns across middle america, and he delivered. he forced canada and mexico to revise nafta to make it harder to siphon american jobs. he saved the american steel industry. and stood up against china against the objections of every lobbyist in d.c.

he enforced immigration laws and rolled back obama regulations and fought the deep state to limit our involvement in unnecessary wars in the middle east and appointed supreme court justices. in the face of unprecedented pressure he resisted locking down the entire country during covid because he wanted to make sure average americans would not suffer needless economic harm. every one of those measures, hated by the washington swamp, but every one of them brought practical benefits to american families. for the trump administration middle america is never fly over country. no one at the white house is making fun ever americans for

clinging to their guns and religion. no one believes that the american experiment was a racist failure or we should apologize to the rest of the world. absolutely not. as someone who lived in washington since the 1980s, i can assure you that the focus of trump, the american worker, is very rare. we really do have an establishment in washington. but it's not trump's establishment. it's an establishment full of elitists and they look down on you in the middle of the country. their policies are tailored for the world, not for the midwest. >> our proud reputation around the world diminished. >> we were respected around the world rallying allies for climate change. >> joe understands that none of the issues of this world can be resolved without bringing nations together.

women for trump. also with me is cynthia author of a choose victory. are you jumping ship to biden after hearing all of that emotion and the personal narratives and the cliches? >> no, i am from san francisco but grew up in north carolina. the division in america at the dnc bears no relation of where they want our country to be. it was celebrities and a bleak picture of america. soccer moms are looking at what the democrats have to offer. getting rid of bail and the police and getting rid of border control. i don't think most american will

go for that. i don't think they can identify with kamala harris and how she got to power. they made a lot of mistakes. they could have brought women from the heartland who spoke from the heart. they blew that opportunity with the politics of division. >> laura: msnbc tried to pick up on the theme that was running through the democratic national convention all week saying it was a moment to be proud because girls of color can now have something to look up to. i assume they looked up to barack obama. this is how they portrayed it. watch. >> there have been so many powerful moments through this convention. many of them created by women. >> i don't think we can overstate how significant a moment it is for girls and women and people of color from the united states and around the world. >> were there any white men who spoke tonight? >> no. >> i don't think i have ever

seen that. it was mostly women of color. >> laura: chris cuomo is going i better shut up here. what about the symbolism? that's being god loves symbolism. however, i raised the young women in my life and mentor thousands of young women around the world through my organization. i love young women and girls. i love to see them walk in the power of their identity. i love to see them think. the problem is that a symbol of something doesn't mean anything. who i am looking at? what am i looking at? what do they stand for? anybody in that party, it offends me the way god and color is thrown around. it's a lie. nothing about god aligns in my mind with the values that party stands for.

it's so hypocritical. >> laura: yes. let may hop in here, cynthia. you come from the sikh tradition. there is a connection among all the great faiths in the world. you would think they would not go out of their way to remove under god from caucus meeting pledges. they didn't do it for the main show because they want to appeal to middle america. in the pre-show meeting we monitored, it was all one nation, indivisible. it was so obvious referring to what cynthia said. god was not present. it was secular and gender bending. >> you're absolutley right. people around the world, people of faith will tell you -- they are a person who believes in god

of the low bar that was set? >> we are definitely concerned that the media was gushing over him last night and all day today, that he was able to read the teleprompter and they set the bar so low for him. how could he not do well? the reality is, the week started off great for the president in that cnn of all people had a poll where we were tied in the battleground states. rasmussen had a poll where we were within 4 nationally. the battleground states were all close. the media will pull to say this the biggest value contrast going

into our convention that celebrates america while they were running down america. >> laura: a list of potential biden picks. susan rice and elizabeth warren. pete buttigieg as u.n. ambassador. karen bass. and garcetti after he ruins california. does this have any effect in voter sentiment how moderate the biden campaign will be? >> they are not moderate. kamala harris is a san francisco liberal. 15% of the voters don't expect biden to serve out the term.

governors had the power here. surprisingly more than the president. the governors decided whether or not to lock down. the governors and school authorities have power over school reopenings. unless donald trump declared martial law there were limits to what he could do. in terms of joe biden's desire to lock down the country again, there have been hints in that direction and a lot of democratic establishment called for that, it's not clear that lockdowns would do any good. lockdowns devastate the economy. states that locked do you know whether or not they were hit hard by the pandemic have tomorrow unemployment rates. and texas, even though they had a spike, have done much better

economically. i have no idea what joe biden thinks he would do. it's a case of an am -- i am from the government and i am here to help. >> laura: he said one thing: a national mask mandate. all of these people advising, they were all heralding europe's lockdown for longer strategy, which seems to have back fired given all the new cases in euro europe. >> yes, taking off in spain. >> laura: and 26,000 new cases in europe. the school issue is huge for our viewers on "the ingraham angle." and democrats pulled a trick. they pretended they are the ones who really, really want to reopen schools. >> you don't know if your child's school is going to reopen this fall. >> parents are stuck.

no idea when schools can safely reopen and fewer child care options. >> we will make sure our schools have the resources they need to be open, safe and effective. >> laura: we were screaming laughing. thoughts? >> well, this has been an almost purely partisan issue for months now with republicans led by president trump and the science and the facts saying children should be in school and the democrats led by the teacher's union making demands why they can't be and they need to defund charter schools and the police. for democrats, to turn around and say it's the republican's fault. i wish we could have in you school is a brazen act of deception. they have clearly been the major

impediment to children being in school. every time a fake study comes out like the latest one from mass general with children up to 22, they pushed the headlines everywhere about silent spreaders and hype every crazy anti-school argument and then turn around and say it's bret's fault the schools are closed. >> laura: it's so infuriating to parents. they have seen through the headlines on a lot of this stuff. alex, another thing i noticed happening, you wrote about this in your book, any hint of good news or the virus might be trailing off in texas and arizona, any bit of that is discounted by the media. the cdc came out and said we could have 10 to 20% of the country already infected.

cnn brought out their medical experts to shoot that down. >> not clear how he is getting that number. it's not clear what that means. antibodies might fade so you could get infected a second time. so i am not clear it's a reason to be happy. >> laura: we could never reach herd immunity anywhere in the country? >> when cases were up in texas, arizona and florida, that's all you heard. you heard how a few isolated hospitals were having problems with icu's. that was reported over and over again. 5 hospitals in houston and on the texas border. now that the sun-belt managed its spike, in arizona, icu,

beyond that, no one in the party here including the governor asked him to withdraw from the race. they put out a small retractions that he wished he had not done that. they were minor apologieapologi. he is from saint paul. >> laura: i was in minneapolis last week and spoke to business owners whose lives were completely destroyed in these riots. these are not political people. they are just hard working americans and their stores were literally burned to the ground. do you want fewer police or more? >> more for security. there is no back up plan for the police. they want to defund the police. okay, do you have other plans to put into our community?

one p.m. a got robbed in daylight. all they do is take a report. i have report after report and it will become a booklet. >> laura: he and many others are not getting the help from authorities. what is your response given the situation if minneapolis today? >> well, a year ago our chief of police asked the mayor and city council for an increase ever of 400 officers. they got nothing. the mayor said we didn't have the numbers. it was failed leadership. if they deployed the guard sooner, a lot of these businesses and buildings could have been protected. they did over $500 million worth of damage it businesses. there are 1500 businesses many of which will not come back. not only did we not get the 400

officers, we are down 100. there are rapid retirements. we were below 900 and we will be below 700. >> laura: violent crime is on the rise in democrat controlled cities across the country including minneapolis. the figures are astounding. homicide are up 96% over last year. the city is cutting the police budget and reducing the number of officers. what is your message tonight to all of the people watching? they have heard a lot of talk about how joe biden is a great guy, a great grandfather. let's stipulate to all of that. the position of the democrat party in general toward police officers what should people be thinking tonight? >> the party has declared war on police in all of the major cities.

minneapolis has it bad but thank god we are not portland or seattle. all of these major cities who have had democrats in charge for decades, they are imploding and their answer is they want less police. >> laura: after being in minneapolis, i got in my car and i just cried. i could not believe this was happening in america. we always know there will be injustice and crime. overwhelming some not great like in humanity. some are criminals. but minneapolis? that happened in minneapolis? it took my breath away. if it drove me to tears, i can't imagine what it's doing to the city. a lot of good people in minneapolis. hard working people. >> that's right. that's right.

i drove down there after the riots quelled. i worked that street for years as a patrol officer. it was devastating to see. a lot of those businesses were strong police support. they are gone and not coming back. minneapolis was a vibrant city. it will be a long road to recovery and they are headed into the opposite direction. defunding the police is not the way. >> laura: the governor didn't rescind his endorsement of that man who came to your home, your personal residence and was threatening you with teenage neighbors on the porch there. what has happened to minnesota? bob, great to see you tonight. stay in touch. we will be tracking this story as it goes on. >> thanks. >> laura: one democrat senator had a hard time figuring out how
