holder in my best-selling book "unknown valor: pearl harbor to iwo jima." that is the story for september 1st, 2020. we will be back tomorrow night for a special celebration, victory over japan day, tomorrow. have a good night. ♪ ♪ >> tucker: good evening, and welcome to "tucker carlson tonight." if you watch the show over the past few months, we know we have fixated, sometimes to the exclusion of other important things, on the riots and disorder that have paralyzed many american cities. we haven't done this for partisan reasons, honestly, it is a presidential year, but the threat we are facing is deeper and more significant than any single election. political violence is the greatest threat we face. it is more dangerous than any virus or any foreign adversary. you could literally -- we've told you who is responsible for the violence, we didn't need to tell you, it is obvious, no matter what the

professional liars are claiming on television. the main suspect for example in the most recent political assassination in portland a blm local tattooed on his neck. he is not hiding what team he is on, none of them are, and every modest person watching understands exactly what is going on in our streets. what to few understand is why it is happening. why would kids raised raised in the fairest country in the world support a violent revolutionary group like blm, whose program consist mainly of destroying things? why would educated adults, the very people who should be defending our system, we need to defend our system, to be working so hard to tear it down? historians will inevitably study these questions, they are going to want to know what happened here. they will conclude that ideology played a major role in all of this. for a generation, americans had been taught to accept the underlying premises that made blm possible. human beings can be reduced to their race. skin color equals privilege.

equality under the law must be abandoned. these are lies. but suddenly, they are everywhere. americans have learned them in school, learn them on the job, heard them even in church. without these ideas, we wouldn't have riots right now, we wouldn't put up with them for a second. so where has this poison coming from? ultimately, it comes from the academic left, which controls this countries intellectual life, such as it is. the product they are selling has been disseminated widely by the media, by corporate hr departments, even by the federal government, which you pay for, all of us do. the problem is larger than most people understand -- larger, in fact, than we understood until we read the reporting of a man called chris lupo, who i spent months investigating critical race theory indoctrination, the mandatory maoist struggle sessions now underway in your office and your kids school. highly paid diversity trainers systematically attack the unifying ideals of this country, they fit americans against each

other based on the color of their skin. it is a grotesque project. it is wrong. it is openly racist. over time, it leads to violence and permanent division. we are seeing it now. it is terrifying. but virtually no one challenges it. we should challenge it for the sake of our country. tonight, we have asked chris to walk us through some of what is happening here. you should know the details. he is a research fellow at discovery institute as well as a contributor and editor at city journal, and he joins us now. chris, thank you so much for coming on, appreciate it. >> yeah, thanks so much. tucker, this is something i have been investigating last six months, and it is asked will be astonishing how critical race theory has pervaded every institution in the federal government. and what i have discovered is critical race theory has become, in essence, the default ideology of the federal bureaucracy and is now being weaponized against the american people. i would like to share three investigations i have unleashed that show the kind of depth of this critical race theory, cult

indoctrination, and the danger and destruction it can wreak. first, the treasury department. i broke the story on the treasury department, which held a seminar earlier this year from a man named howard roth, a diversity trainer who has built the federal government more than $5 million over the past 15 years. conducting seminars on critical race theory. and he told a treasury employee essentially in america was a fundamentally a white supremacist country. and "virtually all white people uphold the system of racism and white superiority. and was essentially denouncing the country and asking white employees at the treasury department and affiliated organizations to accept their white privilege, except their white racial superiority, and except, essentially, all of the baggage that comes with this reducible essence of whiteness. second, this is not, by any means, limited to the treasury department. critical race theory is actually now infiltrated our criminal

justice system, just this week i released a story that the fbi is now holding weekly seminars on intersectionality, which is a hard left academic theory that reduces people to a network of racial, gender, sexual orientation identities, that intersect in complex ways and determine whether you are an oppressor or oppressed. obviously, with the white, straight male, such as the eye director christopher wray, being at the top of this pyramid of evil. critical race theory is now infiltrating into our scientific establishment. a few weeks ago, i released a story that critical race theorists at the national laboratory which creates our nuclear weapons, arsenal, sent their white male executors on a three day reeducation camp to deconstruct their white male culture and actually force them to write letters of apology to women and people of color. whistle-blowers within the laboratories have now spoken

out, but laboratory executives have dispatched counterintelligence schemes to quickly erase their communication of silence and shut them down. and this is really the bottom line. there are some great people in d.c., such as senator josh hawley in missouri, that are starting to push back, but conservatives need to wake up, that this is an existential threat in the united states, and that bureaucracy, even under the trump administration, is now being weaponized against core traditional american values. and i would like to make it explicit, the president and the white house, it is within their authority and power to immediately issue an executive order abolishing critical race theory training from the federal government, and i call on the president to immediately issue this executive order and stamp out this destructive, divisive, pseudoscientific ideology at its roots, and i think it is something he has denounced, this kind of black lives matter, neo-marxist rhetoric in places like portland and seattle, but it is time to take action and destroy it within its own

administration. >> tucker: the consequences of what you described are profound. i think we are seeing some of them now on our streets. i want to get to the second example, because it may be the most troubling of all, the department of justice. so, the underlying idea behind our entire justice system is that all of us are treated equally under the laws of the united states. your race, your gender, you sleep with are irrelevant in the eyes of the law. how could the fbi, which is armed and empowered to uphold those laws, the disseminating allies like this, which are exactly contrary to their mission? i mean, how corrosive is that? how scary is that? >> it's extreme the corrosive, and what we are seeing is the institutions of the federal government, the actual bureaucracies and agencies in this kind of permanent administrative state, has really abandoned the core american principles of equality under the law, of judging individuals as

individuals on their merits, and they are now adapting this radical left ideology of judging people from their group identity, and it's absolutely terrifying at the fbi, which has almost a plenary of physical authority in the united states, would be adapting this ideology, and i think it is a moment that all americans should be deeply worried about their country. >> tucker: they should be. this has nothing to do with the selection, it has to do it our future as a nation. very quickly, there are reports that this is going on in the united states military. is that true? >> yeah, i've had some leaks from inside the u.s. military and the air force on the navy, i'm still working on these stories to source them, to confirm them, but what i can say is this, they are essentially starting in 2011 with the obama executive order, mandating diversity and inclusion initiatives throughout the federal government, they have created the office of diversity and inclusion, ostensibly

supporting greater diversity, but in practice, according to sources throughout the federal government, serve as almost internal intelligence services to perpetuate this ideology and to root out conservative ideas and ultimately purge conservative employees. >> tucker: a diverse country can't handle this for long. we need to be unified by our equality under the law, or we won't be unified. by the way, if there are people watching this have experienced it, i hope you will reach out to us as whistle-blowers, within the military or federal agencies, reach out to chris rufo or us. chris rufo, thank you so much for your report tonight. appreciate it. so, we have more bad news for you. the president apparently is still stealing mailboxes across the country. democrats are convinced that is happening. they are close to cracking the case. by the way, they are also completely sure there is no risk whatsoever of nationwide male in balloting. they say that is a conspiracy theory. but now, the democratic party operative anonymously has made a confession, and our own

rick leventhal has details on that reviewing story. rick? >> tucker, as you said, democrats have dismissed concerns about mail-in ballot fraud as overblown, but a reporter says the truth is chilling, abuse is easy as and spread. a democratic operative says he haclaims to have been fixing mail-in balloting for decades. he called himself a master at fixing ballots, telling the post, some methods are really simple, like sending a team into a neighborhood after ballots are mailed out and then knock on the doors and convince people to hand them over. the operative claims a shocking number of people actually do that, and then they can just throughout the ballots cast for the other side. he says postal workers are sometimes in on the scam, tossing loads of ballots from areas known as her provident strongholds commit another method allegedly targets nursing homes. >> this has been called granny harvesting come in the past, and they don't even have to steam it

open because the nurses on the payroll, the nurses go and stack a ballot, hello, we are going to do the ballot together, and -- and then, you know, it's both fraud and elder abuse, frankly. >> he and his operatives did their dirty work in new jersey, new york, and pennsylvania, which is a key swing state in the upcoming election, tucker. >> tucker: what a story. rick leventhal, thank you for that. >> sure. >> tucker: the elected democrats who painted blm on the streets of washington, d.c., may soon knock down the washington monument. it's one of those stories you think can't be real, but it is real. we have the documents to prove it. plus, the brother of the governor of new york turns out to be very different in private than he is on television. we've got the tape to illustrate that, coming up. ♪

for americans. so, rioters in baltimore, san francisco, many other places, did just that. [cheers and applause] [cheers and applause] >> tucker: that was fun, so they kept going. if you can't work, wreck stuff. in june, mobs attempted to tear down the andrew jackson statue on the steps of the white house. >> tucker: after that happened, the president, you may remember this, issued an executive order designed to punish vandalism of public monuments, said to be cracking down on it. but in washington, lawmakers are thinking hard about how to continue to destroy things, so a

committee created by d.c. mayor muriel bowser, overseeing the dramatic decline of the city, released a report tuesday, asking the federal government to "remove, relocate, or contextualize monuments." what monuments? the jefferson memorial, the washington monument, gone. that will make the city better. schools named after heroes like ben franklin and alexander graham bell and also need to be modified, according to them, that will make life better. but will it? robert woodson is the founder of the woodson center and a frequent guest on this show. mr. woodson, glad to have you tonight. if we took down the washington monument tomorrow, if we bulldozed the jefferson memorial, whose lives would get better? >> well, that is the biggest question. you know, someone once said, tucker, when truth-based facts are discounted, the lies become normal, and that is what we are seeing here. of all of the challenges facing, particularly black residents of washington, d.c., why is this

may or spending and energy and money talking about tearing down statues? they are flirting with a very dangerous impulse when they start doing this, tucker, because you think about, in the french revolution, what they tried to do is rewrite history, and what you are seeing around the country are guillotines being established because in the french revolution, what they did, of course, is wipe out the people in church and also the aristocracy, and tried to even change the calendar, and as a consequence, it really -- it took us into a dark period, and what the mayor doesn't understand, america is a country of redemption. none of us should be defined by the worst of what we wear, but it is very dangerous for them to be flirting with the russian revolution, the same thing happened there, they

wanted to rewrite history. of the black on black violence at an all-time high, here is where we ought to be concentratg our energy and efforts. we are reaching a level of depravity when rioters in portland are locking people in buildings and trying to burn it down, and also, people are cheering when a trump supporter is shot to death -- i've never seen that level of depravity before -- >> tucker: no. >> in this country. >> tucker: i haven't, either. one theme that connects all of these events is destruction. i think there are a lot of problems in this country that we should try and solve, but i don't see any of these people trying to solve it. they are not building anything, not creating anything. they are tearing down what previous generations built. where's the person is going to stand up and say if you are upset about inequality, let's improve the schools, not just wreck the good schools, make the bad schools good. why does nobody say that?

>> well, that is the point, tucker, but they also failed to answer this question: if the problems facing, for instance, the inner-city blacks, can they be solved by addressing institutional racism, and if so, what is the strategy for ending institutional racism, and what is the relationship of that remedy to the problems facing inner-city blacks? we have a mother of an 8-year-old who was killed by a young black man, and the black lives matter representatives came to her and told her she must really quiet down and not raise this issue, because it takes black lives matter off message, it deflects attention away from their message, and their messages blacks being killed by the police, even though only 14 blacks were -- unarmed blacks were killed by police in the course of one year, and for every one of those blacks killed, 270 blacks were

>> tucker: in security footage obtained by fox news, time stamped monday, 3:08 p.m. pacific time, an 80-year-old part-time nap a resident can be seen in a san francisco hair salon, wet hair, not wearing a mask, but she was almost alone, due to coronavirus regulations, salons in san francisco are closed to services. nancy pelosi went inside, and she can do that because she is the speaker of the house, third in line to the presidency. you cannot because you don't have as much power as nancy pelosi. the owner of the salon was furious about this, and she told fox news that pelosi's trip was disturbing and a slap in the face to people not allowed to work because of nancy pelosi. meanwhile, our media was angry, too, not a nancy pelosi, but at you for finding out it happened. over at "politico," one person

was incensed by this, and she tweeted, and we are quoting, "have to ask, upon seeing this, is it legal in california, a two-party system consent state,o videotape someone in a private home or business without their consent?" it was the owner's fault, the security camera's fault definitely not nancy pelosi's set fault. iif you follow nancy pelosi carefully, you are not surprised by that because nothing matters more to nancy pelosi than cold hard science, she hadn't been born into a powerful political family, she might have been isaac newton, that's what you can trust her when she says the president is stealing our mailboxes and it is not safe to vote in person. nancy pelosi knows what she is talking about, that has guided her career for decades now, if you watch msnbc last night, you watch her point out -- this is true -- that only bad people don't wear masks or stay socially distant. >> what further evidence does

anyone need that this president doesn't care less about the spread of this virus then to see what he did, vandalizing, by the way, the white house by bringing all those people there, no masks, no distancing, and the rest? he slapped science right in the face, and what a bad example that was. >> tucker: donald trump slapped science right in the face, and that is not easy, by the way, because science is a worthy opponent. stings like a b. but by that standard -- and that is the standard now -- nancy pelosi didn't simply slapped science in the face yesterday. know, by not wearing a mask and sneaking into a hair salon others are banned from entering, nancy pelosi did something worse, nancy pelosi drowned science and a 12-pound designer ice cream help, she -- she ripped science apart like a state of the union address, and she did it all on camera.

wear masks. chicago mayor lori lightfoot went to help get her hair done, in between her ignoring the rioting, looting, chaos in her city, but taking time out of her day -- if you remember that, recently. she has to get her hair done because she is on television needs to look good. whether or not anyone can tell the difference, that's up to the viewer and the citizenry, but another one, gretchen whitmer in michigan. what we are seeing -- look, all of these progressive leaders and these progressive districts, their districts, lest we forget, are crumbling, hemorrhaging businesses and residents, they were becoming -- like in san francisco, where the streets were running with human feces, crime was up, homelessness, drug addiction, all of these problems predated the double whammy of unprecedented nightmares we are now suffering through, the virus

and the marxist riots. and how did they behave then? the same they are behaving now peer of all of these progressive leaders and these districts continue to behave like aloof, 17th century monarchs, just blindlblithely presiding over tr troubling fiefdoms, their authorities are not local i never have been, they don't care what is happening to their constituents. their ambitions are national and global and about their own personal goals and their party consolidated power in this country. >> tucker: i think you are exactly right, hate to say that. and meanwhile, while they are calling for gun control, they are all armed. we should disarm them, i'm serious. i'm serious, there is no reason any politician who calls for taking your guns away ought to force you to pay for bodyguards. period. in my opinion. chadwick moore -- >> exactly, we are stuck in

progressive cities where we can't arm ourselves and the police -- >> tucker: i've noticed. great to see you tonight. >> you too, thank you. >> tucker: there is growing evidence the coronavirus lockdown have been ineffective -- by definition, they have been -- and they have been lethal, getting a clear picture of how much damage our elected officials have done, not all intentionally, but still. according to a new study by revolverdotnews, according to a study they commissioned, the coronavirus lockdown's have been the coronavirus itself in this country. how did they reach that conclusion? revolver first tallied up the number of deaths caused directly by coronavirus, those numbers are public, then the number of lockdown related, stress related fatalities, heart attacks, suicide, drug o.d., and unlike media organizations, they also took into account of the ages of everyone who died. your age actually really matters, when trying to get to the truth of what is happening

across the country. revolver found the lockdown's have caused roughly 18.7 million combined life years in this country alone. the coronavirus lockdowns, meanwhile, best they could guess, saved fewer than 1 million life years. essentially, they are sacrificing the nation's young people. i wonder why young people are so upset? the media's job, of course, isn't to tell you any of this, it is to keep these facts from you, to spread fear, lying if necessary, and to keep the country lockdown until joe biden wins in november. that is why they decided to report a member of the white house coronavirus task force is going rogue. according to cnn and other media organizations, he wants americans to get infected with coronavirus to build up immunity, or maybe because he is evil or something. >> he is trying to get the administration to go for a herd immunity strategy. i hope this isn't the best the administration can do, i really hope it doesn't happen.

>> "washington post" reporting that that strategy is being pushed by a guy named scott atlas. this strategy has been tried before, in sweden most notably, and it was a disaster. >> scott atlas, one of trump's top medical advisors, is report of the urging the white house to embrace a herd immunity approa approach. >> tucker: no one hasn't benefited more from the lockdown then the richest man in the world, jeff bezos. so, jeff bezos is going after someone who is questioning the lockdowns. is this true? we thought we would ask directly. dr. scott atlas is on the coronavirus white house task force, and he joins us tonight. straightforward question, are you trying to infect more americans with the coronavirus? >> thanks for having me, talker. the news is out of control, i think because everybody knew -- maybe i didn't know, i'm not one of these washington insiders, but there is news, opinion, and

overt lies, and that was one of those overt lies. the ultimate straw man, to put a falsehood out there, and have everybody attack -- there is no advising going on from me about wide open and pursuing a herd immunity strategy. i've never said that to the president or the task force. no one has ever said that to the president, i never have heard the president say that, and that is not a strategy here in any way, shape, or form. it is just an overt live, but this is washington, so i am learning quite a bit. nothing about the coronavirus, but i'm learning quite a bit about human nature. >> tucker: yeah, and certainly the way campaigns are conducted. did someone from "the washington post" call you and ask you directly, is this true, and if so, what did you say? >> yeah, well, i've never spoken to anybody from "the washington post." i did issue a statement through the white house communications person, which they did put in

the article after it was published, and despite me saying exactly what i just said, i have never done that kind of advising, it is not part of a strategy, no one is advising the president on that, and that is not the president strategy, they put that in the article after it was published and then they went on to attack it as if it were still fact. i guess the denial has nothing to do with anything. >> tucker: huh. enter goes about saying, they didn't have any actual evidence of it because you didn't say it. >> it is a complete lie, so i don't know if somebody actually said that, but i can't control what anyone else says. i can only control what i say. >> tucker: it's just remarkable. i like you. the rest of us are learning an awful lot. thanks for coming out tonight. >> okay, thanks. >> tucker: well, we told you a couple of nights in a row about a tape of the brother of the governor of new york, who has a

tv show, talking to michael cohen, america's sleaziest lawyer. a revealing tape, we are going to play it for you, right after the break. ♪

♪ >> tucker: you remember michael cohen, a lawyer in new york, the president's lawyer. a couple years ago, he was indicted for tax evasion among other things and went to prison. and the topic of michael cohen comes up, the one thing everyone who knows michael michael cohenn agree on, the one thing, is he is a sleaze ball. not a minor sleaze ball, but an epic sleaze ball, hollywood level fleas fall. if they ever make "sleaze ball: the movie," michael cohen will play the lead and be in every sequel, too, he was born for that role. what's interesting to note among michael cohen's close personal friends is an anchor on the cable news network, not just any cnn anchor come up with the cnn anchor given the most overheated possible moral lectures, and the god himself, the blessed mother if necessary, if he schooled you for not living up to his high ethical standards. that man's name is christopher charles cuomo, son of one governor, brother of another, a yale graduate, weight lifter,

deeply good person. also, we now learn, a buddy of michael cohen ones. we know this because we have an audio tape of a conversation between the technical men, apparently many tapes like this, but tonight we will play just a portion of one. before you listen to this, try to remember what chris cuomo sounds like when you listen to him on television, you've seen him, admit it. and then that memory, the moral chris cuomo, to the guy you here in this recording. here you go. >> you know, i'm always careful when i talk to media. >> right. >> you know how many [bleep] phone calls i've gotten from people at abc who say reporters are calling and lying about things they heard about me to try to get stories about me when i was at abc? guys calling and saying "i hear he was the charlie rose of ebc, used to invite women to the hotel." dry looked like the [bleep] kind of guy who has to do that?

i have a good source that said he forced one woman to have sex, i just want to know if you heard anything like that. there is no woman. women who do work they're saying, yeah, you know, and he was naming me with other guys, we've all done this to each other once in the elevator and he put his hand on my shoulder and made me very uncomfortable. i mean, what the [bleep]? is a problem, and i've always told you, the media is not your friend. >> no. >> tucker: wall. if there a lot to unpack here, but chris cuomo is agitated, mad, really mad, and what makes him maddest of all? the suggestion he has to act like some old guy, charlie rose, to get the ladies, sandbagging women's and hotel room with an open bathrobe. "do i look like the kind of like us to do that?" the response, "sure, why not." but chris cuomo disagrees. he doesn't need cheesy tricks

like that. chris cuomo is on television. chris cuomo could bench press your subaru come open back bathrobes are for losers. you know who is a loser? all those women who keep accusing chris cuomo of sexual harassment. they claim he bothered them in elevators. now, if women made those claims against you, chris cuomo might very well denounce you on his tv show, because we are firing and banishment from decent society. these are women making the charges, after all. you must believe women. women's voices must be heard. me too and all of that. that is not what chris cuomo tells his friend, michael comey. you get the sense neither one of these guys is a big feminist. they can let their hair down and be themselves, so he spares him the me to lecture. nothing flattering. he says, and we are quoting here, "i mean, what the f." in other words, these girls, they are crazy, all of them want

a piece of chris cuomo. maybe some of them want to get bench press to come if you know what i mean? they are making up these crazy lies, you know, like women do, hormones, probably. michael cohen is not convinced by this explanation. even michael cohen takes women more seriously than that. well, it is a problem, d7 begins to say, but chris cuomo cuts him off. when you're talking to chris cuomo, you don't get to talk much. we never learn who are all of these women who claim they have been sexually harassed by chris cuomo? what are their names? had they received financial settlements from cnn or abc? when we asked those questions yesterday to cnn, we sent them the tape you just heard, someone at the p.i p.r. department, ande weird kid who hosts the show, they did not respond. was their reaction the same as chris cuomo's? i mean, what the f? we can only guess they think women are crazy, chris cuomo hasn't called us either, you ca. we work in the media, and if there is one thing that chris cuomo hates, it's the media.
