understand that. it makes no sense because he went and he fully offered that financial assistance. if you look at those images some of these places look like war zones. it's absolutely terrifying, and just imagine for yourself for a second what would have happened in kenosha had the national guard not arrived? no one wants to think about that but you really need to think about it because the choices being made right now, sometimes, are very poor, by local leadership, and it's a very important time to stress the importance of leadership on both the local and national level right now. another topic though that we've been talking about quite a bit this morning is history, and that has become controversial now. our country's history is in the spotlight. we now have a d.c. committee that is offering recommendations to remove, relocate, or contextualize monuments, statue s, take a look at some on this list which of the monuments we're talking about columbus fountain, benjamin franklin statue, andrew jackson statue, jefferson memorial, george mason memorial, the washington monument and the george washington statue on that.
5:11 am
it seems as though everything is essentially on the table here, and this started, remember, as a conversation about confederate monuments and a lot of people were on the same page on that but what i said at the time is that this is going to trickle out and soon, it's going to be our entire country's history and just look at that wording. remove, relocate, or contextualize those are three very different things. maybe some be on the page of saying let's contextualize it, great but now, it will be step- by-step, i promise you contextualize first, and then relocate, and then a call for removal to the point where our country's history will at some point be completely dis integrated. well, mark meadows called this proposal a waste of time on fox & friends earlier. listen to what he had to say. this is the least serious thing that you've ever seen come out of washington d.c. and also, it's the least considered recommendation that you'll ever see. we're going to talk about removing things let's get serious about what americans
