but everybody should pay a fair share. i'm not going to lay it up because of shoot me. >> jason: they'll shoot me? is the best choice of words? at one point, biden took a few questions from local residents. apparently, they were scripted on paper. that is, until this happened. watch. >> i was told to go off the paper but i can't. you need the truth and the truth of the matter is we are heavily angry. not angry as to where people say oh, they're protesting, there's a difference. between a protest and a rider. a very big difference. >> jason: keep in mind, and biden's last press conference, the journalist who asked questions were all preselected by biden campaign staffers.
10:02 pm
what are they trying to hide? meanwhile, president trump will do regularly takes unscripted questions was back on the campaign trail again tonight in pennsylvania. have a look. >> i think i've answered more questions from the maniacs than any president in history. i watched biden yesterday and he hasn't answered questions and one, two months or something. yesterday, he took a couple and they were set up like i'd never seen. they're doing anything they can to get the sleeping giants of the white house and i just don't think the public is going to fall for it. i don't the public will vote for it and on his best day was 25 or 30 years ago he was weak. he was weak as a senator, he was not in on this being one of the smart ones and now it's not exactly prime time. i can tell you. >> jason: the polls are tightening in the president is gaining momentum. how much longer can democrats try to hide joe biden?

i'm joe biden. of joining us now is former white house chief of staff reince priebus, rnc chan ronna mcdaniel, and charlie hurt, fox news contributor. thank you for joining us tonig tonight. starting with you, kenosha, wisconsin, is your hometown and you traveled with the president there. tell me about the trip. >> well, thanks, jason, i appreciate being on the show. the business in kenosha because he's part of the federal response to restore order in kenosha and joe biden has nothing in kenosha other than running for president. i lived in kenosha my entire life. my parents still live in kenosha. i can tell you without any exaggeration from illinois to kenosha, wisconsin, about a 25 minute drive, i have never, in my life, seen the outpouring of support. not just tacit support, but wild, off the chart support for
10:04 pm
this president and it was about 99%-one. this is a 65% democrat town and all they want to do is say thank you for saving our town. people need to realize that kenosha was burning down. people were putting their kids, no exaggeration, in their basements while dad was sitting in the kitchen with their hunting rifles not knowing who was going to come to the front door. things have changed in the field. this issue of law and order is real. if you look at what the president was talking -- the democrats are talking about defunding the police, kneeling for the national anthem. suspending seasons of the nba and not playing sports, not putting kids in school, this election is coming down to freedom and how we want to live as americans in kenosha is the example of it all.
10:05 pm
>> jason: i got to tell you, i believe wholeheartedly that authenticity ends up winning the day. donald trump has it and has it in a big, big way. it joe biden is kind of fully scripted and not quite sure when he is going to say. authenticity really is the key, one of the key differences in going to the race, is in it? >> absolutely, and the president connecting with the people the hard working day working americans that did not have a voice in washington and then didn't have lobbyists or special interest in the president said i'm going to go to washington to fight for you. he went to kenosha because he knew what was happening and there's no photo ops, no phony photo op that's going to cover up the fact that joe biden is running on policies that will make our country less safe. he's for revoking cash bail. he saying if you come in the building and do this in kenosha, wisconsin, you can get out of jail the next day and get out of jail free card on the role of
10:06 pm
the criminals. he selected a running mate who said that ice is like the kkk. he selected a running mate who applauded the l.a. police department for cutting $150 million from their police funds. everything that joe biden is running on is making our country less safe in the president is saying not only am i going to make america safe i'm going to get it working again i'm going to make sure that we keep america america. >> jason: charlie, what strikes me about this is donald trump will go to kenosha and he gets mocked for it and then suddenly joe biden goes in the same people don't say a peep about it. but joe biden has been flipping and flopping on a whole lot of issues and i don't think if you can catch up on the law and order issue. >> no, i think that's a real problem for them because you know it's one thing to go after your opponent but if you're after your opponent on something like law and order where the
10:07 pm
difference between two candidates is so obvious and in fact, with president trump, there's a problem with president trump it's that there's too much authenticity there. the unscripted stuff that we love so much. it's also what kind of gets you into trouble a lot. but a time like this, in this country, i think voters are thirsting for that sort of thing. and of course in a situation where you have people literally terrified for their lives, terrified for their children, for their families having to sit in their kitchen with a hunting rifle to protect their families. in that kind of environment, you don't see that much kind of support necessarily picking up in the polls because in that kind of environment, a stranger calls you up on your phone to ask you political questions. if people tend to either not to answer or answer however they need to answer to get them off the phone. so, i think that's another thing we should be paying close attention to between now and the

10:10 pm
hollywood elites think that people are living pay to paycheck and afford to sit home month after month. we have to get the kids back to school, balance getting our country again, and president trump in pennsylvania particularly talked about the fact that joe biden wants to eliminate 10 million energy jobs and get rid of fracking. which means not only are we going to pay more for gas and were going to pay more to heat our house it will be dependent on the middle east again. this resonates with hardworking americans but in my state of michigan, the state of wisconsin and these are states that put donald trump over the top in 2016 and were seeing the same numbers come back in the states right now in 2020. the energy is off the charts everywhere. >> jason: charlie, asking you really quick here, the bread-and-butter issues, law enforcement, energy, jobs. i mean, there is such a clear definitive difference between the two candidates.
10:11 pm
>> there really is. at the end of the day it's all about the economy. how people feel about their economic future and you do not have an economic future if you are afraid for your life and afraid for your children's life. if you don't have an economic future if you are shut down because of the coronavirus. so, the economy, those two things underpinning at or what donald trump will win the election on. >> jason: wow a come i you all three of you for joining us on the wonderful thursday night. thank you. want to clarify something in the show earlier. he remains in the hospital, not killed by police, we apologize for the error. if absolute chaos going on in democratic run cities. a major update out of washington, d.c., and governor cuomo, isn't going to like this news.
