steve, what is the impact on the race for the white house? >> every poll does show that other than the public safety issue, it is all about defeating the virus and getting this economy back open and getting people back on the job. mike, it's been four months and we created 10 million jobs. those four months for the were the highest number of jobs created each one of those in american history. it shows there is a lot of momentum in the economy. we're not out of the woods yet by any means. we gained 10 million, but we lost 10 million when the pandemic hit. a lot of work to be done, but it showing that trump's policies in terms of getting the economy back up and running certainly doing well. by the way, wage has also rose at a nice pace as well, mike. we have more jobs in and denies weight gain for american workers. >> the focus group wisconsin swing voters fill overlooked by biden racial resentment, feelings of being overlooked by

i talked to a lot of real working people, and i asked them do they feel like they're being left behind. >> had you respond, steve? >> first of all, i take that personally because i helped donald trump put that economic program together that we put together in 2016 and 2017. the results were just off the charts. we saw the lowest on employment rate in 50 years. we saw huge gains for blacks and minorities and hispanics. we saw a really nice wage gains. everything was going incredibly well and then of course we got hit with this pandemic and as i said, that caused huge economic damage. the kind of hypocrisy up not just joe biden, but a lot of democrats, they were the ones who are most in favor of locking down the economy. you know this, mike, as recently as ten days ago joe biden said i might lock down the economy again.

he had also crossed state lines, so they were outside of portland, it's not unusual to have federal and state cooperation like you saw in this effort. it's what we have frankly been asking for on the ground with portland and governor brown for a long time. when it happens, peace breaks out, and they are letting this violence linger. what you're seeing is that violence begets violence. you look at kenosha, you used immediate responsible force to quell violence, and peace is what breaks out. >> at the u.s. marshals service as the task force attempted to peacefully arrest him in this case, do authorities lose much because they can't question him about nt fat and its activities. >> our goal in any situation is to abductor, detained, really the individual peacefully. this is the goal, you have a criminal, alleged criminal here,

obviously as strong suspect and the goal is to detain him peacefully. the first object in going after a situation like this for you know somebody is dangerous as to protect your officers. they did what they had to do under the circumstances frankly. i don't see any fault in that, but to your question, of course we would have rather he was detained peacefully, that no shots were fired, that no violence had taken place. that's always are preference. it isn't just so we can have those conversations with individuals. though that's important. we mentioned rochester, new york. a lot of people outdoor dining tonight. turning to the streets, is it your assessment that the worst is behind us in places like portland, kenosha, and some of the other hotspots.

>> voting for the november election underway tonight, north carolina is the first state to begin sending out ballots. mark meredith has that story from raleigh. >> in this raleigh warehouse with masks on and social distancing enforced, workers are mailing out absentee ballots for the november election. >> we have over 70 folks working in here today to get the ballots ready and get them out the door.
