happen you have extreme emotions on both sides. we need to slow down, talk about making the profession safer for us in the community but at some point we need to have a conversation about the suspect in these cases because when there's use of force the finger-pointing started police officers but let's talk about the other side, how people need to comply with police officers to have better outcomes. i don't care how much you make changes, to stop the violence on the other side towards police officers which is through the roof this year is shootings of police officers are up 32%, we are never going to get to a place where we can have an honest conversation what law enforcement is going to look like in this country. >> operation legend is credited with decreasing chicago's murder rate to the lowest and then anytime since april. why does operation legend seem to work so well?

>> what a novel concept here. we actually decide to throw the book at gun toting dirtbags who are shooting people in the street and we see a reduction in shootings of over half. almost as if law and order actually works. i want to thank the attorney general, the president for deploying operation legend in chicago, being able to make a huge difference in crime. it really shows when you are willing to back the hard-working men and women of law enforcement, district attorneys are interested in reducing crime in their neighborhood and taking felons off the street, throwing the book at them we can make a difference. shannon: an example of going back to broken window policeing, punishing people who commit crimes, getting them off the streets, making them an example so furthermore violent crimes happen, we appreciate it.
