this saturday, september 12th 2020, i'm jon scott thanks for joining us this evening. see you again. pete: we begin this sunday morning with a fox news alert. breaking right now, two sheriffs deputies fighting for their lives after being ambushed and shot at a train station. mary rafferty live at the los angeles bureau with the chilling survival lance video. reporter: good morning. the los angeles police department releasing a disturbing video. the man walking up to the ruser, opening fire at close range before running off. the deputies were shot several times remaining in critical condition after having surgery late last night. both deputies were sworn in 14 months ago, in the same class.
3:01 am
one of them a 31-year-old mother. the other a 24-year-old man. the sheriff calling the ambush a cowardly act. >> the two deputies were doing their job, minding their own business, watching out for safety of people on the train. somebody just walked up to start shooting on them, it's, it's it pisses me off. reporter: protesters were blocking entrance to the emergency room chanting quote, we hope they die. one protester was arrested. one sheriff office tweeting to the crowds, do not block emergency exits and entrances to the hospital. people's lives are at stake when ambulances can't get through. he said anti-police rhetoric is putting his lives at risk. >> actions. words have consequences. our job does not get any easier because people don't like law

enforcement. reporter: president trump tweeting overnight about the brazen attack, animals that must be hit hard. a massive manhunt is underway right now for the gunman. the fbi are offering help or asking for help in finding the suspect. pete, jed, will. will: thank you very, marianne. the l.a. county sheriffs point to something important here, that is, post and jed, the language that has been used the last several months, language like people are being hunted down in the streets, language like there is open season on black people by police this country has contributed to the a climate of lies that can ultimately lead to violence this is more than irresponsible, this is more than inaccurate, and lies told and retold. the truth must be spoken loudly. the truth must be stood up for. america's character nor the statistics when it comes to law enforcement do not back up these lies and the lies led to a
3:03 am
climate which can lead to a tragedy, jed. jedediah: it is chilling when you watch the video. no wonder police officers are leaving the force. they say how do i do my job? the deputies are sitting in their car. they're not interacting with anyone. there is no fight, no argument. they are completely ambush. if this is the new pad earn that is behavior become acceptable in these cities, where people feel e powered, criminals believe empowered to behave this way in law enforcement, there will be less and less police officers on the street, less and less police chiefs. people put on the uniforms every day they go out to fight to protect us. they have their own families. at some point somebody's wife, husband, child, will say don't do this. it is too risky. if you cannot just sit in your car and not be ambushed what can you do?
3:04 am
forget about closeness with criminals. this is madness. pete: this led to dehumanization. this is brazen, a target, an assassination. when i've been in the riots and seen them, you go look at the graffiti, you see an an acronym, acabab. all cops are bad or all cops are bastards. if you infest the view every cop is a bad guy because they work for a systematically racist system, you open the view, not only do you shoot two police officers on in their car on the street, get a group of protesters at the hospital blocking the emergency room, chanting from the the l.a. county sheriff's department, we hope they die. this is not a mere disagreement. this is a assault on law enforcement. to your point, will, shows how far we've come in the irresponsibility and direct attack on that profession.
3:05 am
we're praying for and thinking about these two officers clinging to their lives in los angeles. if we get updates this morning, we will definitely bring them to you. another major story we're following, massive wildfires continue to burn on the west coast. president trump toe visit california tomorrow, to assess the damage to meet with first-responders for a briefing. will: 31 people have died in the wildfires in california, oregon and washington. heavy smoke filling the air. oregon seeing its worst air quality in 35 years. people arresting four people four alleged arson connected to the wildfires. jedediah: authorities say michael baclaw was seen lighting a fire behind a house in oregon. another man accused of setting a fire in a washington highway. a report says he is regular attendee of defund police rallies in seattle that last detail unfolding pretty amazing. it is really incredible to see.
3:06 am
just keep in mind, these people that are suffering with these wildfires, they have been through a pandemic. this is on top of all of that. i think the trump administration has done a really good job of assisting with these fires. federal assistance with helicopters, federal employees, anything they can do in terms of funding to assist. you have to think about what these people are going through who have been through shutdowns. they have been through lockdowns. some own businesses that have been destroyed. now they're suffering at the hands of this. this is pretty sad. will: i always want to be responsible what it is we do not know yet. these arsonists we do not know exactly their ties to extremist organizations or what their motivations might be, what is clear we know many fires in the west were set intentionally. what does it reveal pete?
3:07 am
mow gavin newsom blamed fires on climate change. there is no the tragedy to pin political events on your opponent. what this reveals without any information about the motives, these were intentional fires. gavin newsom attributed it to his political position. pete: almost immediately to your point, will. who do you blame for that? you can blame everyone. he should blame himself for the gas guzzler he drives. there is no accountability. whatever lunatic motivation goes into contributing to the arson of these fires, again as we mentioned that local fill at one of the members was at least a regular attendee to seattle's defund the police rallies and riots. as we get more information we pray for the people on the west coast who are under siege from this on a daily basis.
3:08 am
we sometimes, i wonder, if these were on the east coast would they get wall-to-wall coverage all day long? because it is out there it doesn't get the attention it should. as we get updates on that story as well we'll continue to bring it to you. we mentioned the president was out west in nevada yesterday slamming his opponent yep biden. he was in minden, nevada. he was in reno because they wouldn't let him have 50 people. he went to minden. population 3,000. based on the pictures are or video, they doubled or tripled their population overnight. he held a barn burner of a rally. here is a portion of what the president said on the campaign trail in nevada about his opponent late last night. president trump: joe biden is a weak person. he does whatever his left-wing puppet masters demand. joe biden spent the last 47 years selling out america, offshoring your jobs, throwing

catherine watson, why not biden showing he want outwork trump and there is pandemic and shouldn't be out shaking hands but he has a creative team and should figure out a way to campaign safely. this is huge contrast. president trump on the ground interacting with people. the rallies are very exciting. getting that base livened up. joe biden chosen strategy saying as a result of the pandemic, he will keep a low profile, the bottom line they have to do that. they have to do it because every time of joe biden is front and center it is a problem. he makes a lot of mistakes. it looks like he is reading from a teleprompter. they know this is his weak area. they have no choice to say, use whatever reason they can, cite whatever flaws they can this is why this is happening but they are not going to be put him front and anter is at rallies. if the pandemic was not a concern they would find a way to remove him from center stage.

big ones and go with the biggest one, brett the one featuring a 40 something- year-old quarterback in my estimation in all due respect of present company the greatest of all-time, tom brady and the tampa bay buccaneers against the new orleans sanes and drew brees, what do you see going down there >> well, you know, the disadvantage be tom brady and his team, because they haven't had a lot of time to gain some chemistry and the same they have been together for quite a while and kind of know the row teen but i'm going to go with tampa and i sort of look at them like my first year in minnesota. the pieces are really falling into place, now it's a matter of chemistry and gaining that chemistry fast and i think that tom brady can do it better than anyone in the business so i'm going to pick the bucks. pete: brett your first year in minnesota almost ended with a super bowl. do you think that's something tampa bay is capable of this

year? >> very very likely that they could contend for the super bowl they had really good players and good defense, if they can protect tom, it's close to how he was protected in new england and with this weapon, they can score. will: brett i'm not sure how much time we have with you i know we want to get to another topic that you're passionate about but one more pick and that is the nfc's representative in the super bowl last year the san francisco 49ers and on the other side a young up and coming team the cardinals are starting to kind of look like they could be something in the future but what happens today? >> well i think the 49ers win, i think they are a more solid sound team but you're right the cardinals are very good and up and coming young, exciting team, but unfortunately, they face one of their division opponents in the 49ers who happens to be as good in all three phases as any in the league. pete: no doubt pretentious we got to get your take you're working with a company investing

in a product called prev-pro, to help with concussions share what you know. >> well so we're just now get ourselves going online, this is a non-fda approved cream for the neck that you would rub on the neck on the carotid artery and it provides seven hours of anti-inflammatory protection to the brain, which is incredible, because i can't say or no one can say that it'll prevent you from getting a concussion but it may take a severe concussion and make it mild be reduced down to no concussion and the inflammation of the brain is the main symptom to concussions, and causes the most damage so i'm excited about this , and we're up and
