we've got to vote. we have to vote these people into objec oblivian. got to get rid of them, so bad for our country. first of all, i'm feeling great. i don't know about you. how is everyone feeling? i'm honored to welcome -- we call this a peaceful protest. in support of the incredible men and women in law enforcement and the people who work so well with us. i have to tell you, our black community, our hispanic community, thank you very much. thank you. but before going any further, i want to thank all of you for your prayers. i know you've been praying. and i was in that hospital, i was watching down over so many people and i went out to say hello to those people and i took a little heat for it but i'd do it again. let me tell you. i'd do it again. and on behalf of myself and the
11:01 am
first lady, this has been really an incredible outpouring. we're starting very, very big with our rallies and everything because we cannot allow our country to become a socialist nation. we cannot let that happen. [ cheering and applause ] >> and that's what would happen. or worse. by the way, or worse. i want you to know our nation's going to defeat this terrible china virus as we call it. and we're producing powerful therapies and drugs and we're healing the sick and we're going to recover and the vaccine is coming out very, very quickly, in record time, as you know. it's coming out very, very soon. we have great, great companies doing it and they'll be distributing it and we will through our military very, very rapidly. through the power of the american spirit, i think more than anything else, science, medicine will eradicate the
11:02 am
china virus once and for all. we'll get rid of it all over the world. see big flare-ups in europe, flare-up in canada. you saw that today. a lot of flare-ups. it is going to disappear. it is disappearing and the vaccines are going to help and the therapeutics are going to help a lot. i want to thank everyone this afternoon. what beautiful colors. where did you get that color, candace? where did that come from? what a beautiful color. i want to get one of them. i want to put one of them on instead of a white shirt. i want to thank you, though. seriously. every day more black and latino americans are leaving behind left wing politicians and their failed ideology. that's what they are. they failed for many years and many, many decades. democrats have run nearly every inner city in america and i mean for 100 years and their policies have delivered nothing but
11:03 am
calamity, poverty, and trouble. sleepy joe biden's betrayed black and latino americans. if you think he can run this country, you're wrong. for half a century, shipping your jobs to china, that's what they've been doing. we're bringing the jobs back. we've been bringing them back. we've been charging china a lot of money too with the tariffs, a lot of money, billions and billions of dollars. opening your borders to mass illegal immigration. the wall is now 380 miles long. it will soon be finished. trapping us in endless foreign wars, these ridiculous foreign wars that last for 19 years. our people are coming back home. you know that. and selling you out to the rich globalist wall street donors, they have the wall street donors, they want the wall street donors. some day somebody's going to have to write a little story about that. black and latino americans are rejecting the radical socialist
11:04 am
left and they're embracing our pro-jobs, pro-worker, pro-police. we want law and order. we have to have law and order and pro-american agenda. i want to thank the blexit foundation for organizing this event. thank you very much. thank you. and especially your two founders, two friends of mine, great people, candace owens and former tucson police officer, brandon tatum. thank you both. [ cheering and applause ] >> great job. what a great job. two really brilliant, smart young people. great and thank you very much for being here. we really appreciate it. so you've just marched to the white house because you understand to protect the lives of black americans and all americans, you have to have your police support you. you have to have that. if the left gains pow you wear, -- yo power, they'll launch a
11:05 am
nationwide crusade against law enforcement. they're doing that at a level nobody's ever seen before. the other day in the debate, biden couldn't even use the words law enforcement. i said, say law enforcement. he was bailed out by the anchor. then i said very simply, i said name one law enforcement group that's supporting you. he couldn't do it. he was bailed out by the anchor. second time. he got bailed out by that anchor a lot. taking their funds away, their firearms, their fundamental authorities, taking everything away including your freedom. joe biden even said when you call 911, a therapist should answer the call. that doesn't work. that doesn't work. but this is the people telling him what, because he doesn't say. he's told what to say. you saw what they introduced today. they've gone through a period of years, no fracking, no fracking, no fracking. all of a sudden he gets the nomination, he says there's going to be fracking. pennsylvania, oklahoma, texas,
11:06 am
north dakota, all of you, there will be -- if it happens, all of those jobs are gone. your energy jobs are gone if they get in. just remember i said it. okay? just remember. i don't think so either. there's been -- i have to say, there's been more enthusiasm, we have had more enthusiasm right now, right now, this year, than we had four years ago by a factor of three times. and we had a lot. and they had none. they have no enthusiasm. >> four more years! four more years! four more years! four more years! four more years! four more years! >> they have no enthusiasm. in fact, the gap is so incredible, in a poll that just came out, i think it said 56% of the people prefer their position now in the midst of a pandemic than they did four years ago. think of what that means.
11:07 am
56. and it's a gallup poll and it's the highest poll ever recorded. 56%. now, tell me about that. we really had it going and then the plague came in from china but we're getting rid of that and we're rebuilding and it's going to be better than it was before. but the homes and churches and businesses of black and hispanic americans have been looted. you know that. they've been vandalized and burned by left wing fanatics. total bad people. they know what they're doing. yet biden likes to call them peaceful protesters, you see people -- you see anchors from a couple of the very bad, very corrupt networks, and behind them the cities are burning and they're saying these are peaceful protests and you look and everything's on fire. and i want to thank our law enforcement. and i want to thank everybody in the community and the community drives who are working with law
11:08 am
enforcement. i want to thank them. i think we probably have the support of every law enforcement group in this country, practically. i don't know of any that i don't. there must be one. they'll find one tonight. they'll say no, he misrepresented. but we have a level of support the likes of which nobody's i don't know ever seen before. i don't think so. and you're going to see that. and you see how many crooked ballots are being found and turned back in and fraudulent. just what i said. then they'll say he doesn't believe in freedom. i totally believe in freedom. that's called freedom, what we're doing is freedom. tremendous problems with the ballots. 50,000 in ohio. 25,000 -- you have to see it. i mean, every day there's a story about ballots. some thrown out, they happen to have the name trump, military ballots were thrown out with the name trump on them. okay? but i think we're going to swamp them by so much. hopefully it's not going to matter and we have law
11:09 am
enforcement watching. we have law enforcement watching all those ballots. they're being found for a reason. left wing politicians like kamala harris who really did not do very well the other night. by the way, did our vice president do a good job, candace? [ cheering and applause ] >> that was easy for him. he did a great job. because we're the side of right. we really are. we're on the side of right. and by the way, we are, and it's true, and i say it and i say it all the time now, more and more, we are draining the swamp like nobody in history has ever drained the swamp. nobody in history has ever drained. we're here today to deliver a united message to police officers all across our great land and america and every american, every race and color, we love you. every race, color, creed, we support you. we honor you. it's a dangerous profession.
11:10 am
they've been doing an incredible job. i just want to thank them on behalf of everybody here today. that's why we're safe. in contrast, the democrats, socialist program and platform and it really is more than socialist, isn't it, it's not just socialist. it's beyond socialism. communist. yeah. that's about right. but i recently announced my plan to deliver more opportunities, security, fairness and prosperity to the black community, to the hispanic community. and you know what it is? i don't have to go over it. it's the platinum plan. it's going to bring back new jobs like at a level that you've never seen before and we've done a lot. we've done a lot. but increased capital, it's going to increase money coming into the black community, to the hispanic community, where it's been very much shut out. in advance, very much home
11:11 am
ownership and wealth building and it's already taken place, it's taken place at a level -- had we not been hit by the pandemic, you would have seen numbers like you've never seen before. but those numbers are already rebuilding again. we're going to build up a peaceful and safer neighborhood program like you haven't seen, with the highest standards of policing. we'll create a healthcare system that delivers better care at a lower cost. obamacare is a disaster. we want to terminate it. we want to get great healthcare and that's what we're doing. great healthcare and we'll always take care of pre-existing conditions. always. and i think we're at a point where we're getting and right now if you look at what we've done in healthcare, people don't talk about it, we've done an incredible job. less expensive healthcare at a much, much -- much better healthcare at a much less expensive price. you can't do better than that. and it's happening and it's happening fast. another thing is school choice, you have to have school choice.
11:12 am
charter schools, school of choice. so i make this statement every once in a while and people think it's a little bit on the bold side but we've achieved a historic reduction of violent crime, we signed a landmark criminal justice reform bill that nobody thought was possible to think about. i did that. i did that. i got that done. and i worked with a lot of people but we got it done. the obama administration couldn't get it done. biden couldn't even think about it. he doesn't even know what it is. we have prison reform. we achieved the lowest black and hispanic unemployment rate in the history of our country. the black youth unemployment rate reached the lowest ever again in the history of our country. last year, black and hispanic american poverty reached the lowest ever in the history of our country. it's all building back up so
11:13 am
quickly. and if you look at what we've done with criminal justice reform, if you look at what we've done with historically black colleges and universities, where we funded them. they couldn't get funded. nobody was funding them for years and years and decades, nobody was funding them. and if you look at what we've done with senator tim scott of south carolina, opportunity zones and the jobs created, and i've said it very strongly and perhaps, i don't know, criminal justice reform, people say maybe that's the best of all but the fact is, they're all great. every one of them is great. and i say the fact is that i've done more for the black community than any president since abraham lincoln. i say it. nobody can dispute it. nobody can dispute it. it's true. nobody can dispute it. so we are now beginning the fastest economic recovery in history. we created a record 11.4 million jobs just in the last four months. that's the fastest ever. the u.s. has seen the smallest
11:14 am
economic contraction of any major nation anywhere in the world. so we've seen the smallest, going down. if you look at it, that's an incredible statement. our opponents will crush the comeback with unscientific lockdowns. they want to lock everything down. here we go again. they want to lock it down. no. we're not going to let it happen. we're not going to let it happen. so important you get out and vote. you've got to get out and vote. so we got a great poll in florida, got a great poll in north carolina, got a great poll in arizona. got a great poll in nevada, actually, just got a great poll in nevada. i think we're doing really well. i mean, this is in addition to states that we're going to win. georgia is looking fantastic, texas is looking fantastic. think about texas, they have no oil. they don't want oil. they don't want gun. they don't want religion. i don't think you're going to win texas very well. now, we've got a great poll in
11:15 am
texas. we're getting great polls all over the place and they understand it. it's driving them crazy. you know why, though? and candace, it is, it's because of the spirit. there's a spirit the likes of which this country hasn't seen in a very, very long time. so i just want to thank you all for being on the white house lawn. this beautiful, great lawn. [ cheering and applause ] >> and i'm very proud of this country. i'm very, very proud. i want to thank all of the doctors and labs and scientists and all of the people that are working so hard because we're way ahead of everybody. but i just want to thank most particularly you, because you people come out and you come out and you cheer and you love your country and you get it. you're way, way ahead of many, many people in this country. but the country is getting it. the country is seeing something now. >> we love you! >> thank you. i love you too zo. >>too.>> we love you!
11:16 am
>> thank you. the people of our country, the whole world is watching, are seeing things now that they haven't seen in this country for decades. they're seeing a spirit and resilience like they haven't seen. i just want to thank you and get out and vote. got to make this bigger than even four years ago. it's more important. this is the most important election we've ever had. this is more important than even four years ago. i used to say the most important and it was true at the time. this is the single most important election in the history of our country. get out and vote. and i love you. thank you. thank you very much. [ cheering and applause ] >> thank you. thank you. [ cheering and applause ] alicia arthel: , well in under 20 minutes, that's really short for president trump but there he was, seeming to look strong,
11:17 am
standing up on the balcony of the white house for a campaign event at about 500 supporters cheered him on as you heard the applause at the end of the president's remarks. it has been nine days since his covid-19 diagnosis was revealed. the president there, he did mention at the beginning, and i think eric is going to get in with our guest next, that i believe the president said that he went out to say hello to some of the people, although he thinks he's going to get in trouble for that. but anyway, they'll get into that. the president was pandering to the black and latino americans, garnering -- wishing to garner their support this election. and he also made sure to say that he is pro-jobs, pro-workers, pro-law and order. again, 500 people in attendance, we're told by reporters on the ground. they were wearing masks but they were definitely kind of sandwiched in together. so there you have it, eric.
11:18 am
very short remarks considering the president normally goes on long but, you know, the crowd was very receptive and we are going toes it over to you now to see how your panel saw this. eric: yeah, arthel. republican brad blakeman joins us, a former deputy assistant to president george w bush. democrat matt bennett, former clinton deputy assistant. brad, most importantly, he looked fine. he sounded good. he seemed in good spirits, good humor and he didn't cough. does that image of looking like his normal self go a long way in this campaign. >> you bet it does. it also shows that the president is leading by example. he's not asking you or i to do something he himself has not done and that is get on with life, lead. there is no more pressure than a human being can have than donald trump has had and continues to have. he's in his 70s and look how he's come through this illness, thank god, with very minimal
11:19 am
symptoms. of course, he has the best doctors in the world but the medicines he's taken are the same, they're available for any american who is suffering through this illness. it shows that the survivability of this illness should not prevent us from libbing our lives. -- living our lives. our lives are full of risk. we mitigate risk any time we can but not to the point of shoulding ourselves down. either personally or as a nation. we have to go on with life. we can't stop hurricanes, tornado as we've seen, earthquakes, but we can manage risk. but to think we're going to shutdown our country, shut down our lives, the president is right, the cure is worse than the disease if we allow ourselves not to be able to live life. eric: matt, we don't know the result of any -- the latest test. he could still be infected. they say severe cases go on for 20 days. your reaction to a coronavirus
11:20 am
president giving the speech. >> i mean, it is just breath-takingly reckless. i couldn't disagree more with brad. this is not what the leader of this country should be demonstrating to the public. we have lost 210,000 americans, covid has killed more than most of the other major causes of death combined, this disease causes. he has been incredibly irresponsible. he exposed his own secret service to an unbelievable risk by driving around in a -- >> that's kno nonsense. eric: let him finish, brad. brad, let matt finish. >> a sealed up car with two secret service agents who were wearing gowns and face shields and masks because he was in the throes of serious covid at that moment. that is incredibly irresponsible. and it goes to show exactly how he has led us into this mess. he has done nothing to lead. at the beginning, he denied it
11:21 am
was a problem, he said it would magically disappear, the numbers would go down to zero. then he talked about injecting ourselves with bleach. he has been unbelievably i responsible from the beginning and it continues today. eric: brad, you quickly wanted to say something. >> what he said is totally nonsense. he didn't put anybody else at risk. what he did was he showed that this disease is something we shouldn't be cowering from. we should face it and we should mitigate it, of course. do everything we can. he doesn't mention the fact that the president saved millions of lives, by shutting down. >> that is nonsense. eric: matt, what about that? >> this is something that -- >> other countries have come out of this crisis. they did the responsible thing. they took the steps they needed to do and you now they're opening their countries and things are better. we don't have it completely under control anywhere because we don't have a vaccine yet and
11:22 am
hopefully some day soon we will but he has done almost everything wrong. he has sent all the wrong signals. today he brought a group of 500 people together standing shoulder to shoulder while he still has covid and 34 people connected to the white house do as well including his wife. it just continues this pattern that he's been on since the beginning. eric: let's have a clip of when he came out, he said he feels fine and then he seemed to hit some of the campaign themes that he has less than a month left. here's what he said. >> first of all, i'm feeling great. i don't know about you. you how is everyone feeling? good? i'm honored to welcome -- we call this a peaceful protest. to the white house in support of the incredible men and women of law enforcement and all of the people that work so well with us and i have to tell you, our black community, our hispanic community, thank you very much.
11:23 am
eric: matt, just there he hit some of the main themes. the economy, dealing with the african-american community, the latino community. certainly areas of the voting public that the campaign is trying to reach over the next three weeks. your reaction to that? >> well, i mean, look, republicans generally have struggled to say the least to win votes in the african-american community. the democrats generally win north of 90% of the vote of black americans and that's probably going to happen again. it is true, though, that the latino community is a little more up for grabs and the biden campaign has made a concerted effort to gain ground there. i'm not surprised the trump campaign is doing the same thing. that is one of the few kind of swing blocks that remain. eric: brad, last word, your reaction to seeing the president up and out? >> look, more power to him. in america, we do not hide. we don't close our system down,
11:24 am
our society. we rise to any occasion and we beat it and we're going to beat this. but we're not going to do it shutting down our country and the biggest failures that have happened in our country with regard to managing covid have been in democratically controlled areas who have made bad decisions for their own populations. so more power to president trump. keep it up, sir. and the american people know what they see and they know what they like and they like living. they like living their lives. eric: and they'l it will be tht rally since his diagnosis, monday in florida. matt and brad, thank you for your analysis. arthel: meanwhile, former vice president joe biden is campaigning in eerie, pennsylvania to the day. as the senate gears up for a confirmation hearing on president trump's supreme court pick, judge amy coney barrett, mr. biden continues dodging the question on whether he supports adding more justices to the nation's highest court.
11:25 am
hillary vaughn is live in erie. hillary, the former vice president saying he doesn't want to answer that question because he doesn't want his answer to become the headline. doeis that still his reasoning today? >> reporter: well, arrest they'll, it was less than -- arthel, it was less than 24 hours ago when he was asked reedilrepeatedly on the ground o nevada what his position is on adding seats to the supreme court. he has not been shy about that issue. a year ago when he was campaigning in iowa he told a local news outlet this on that issue. no, i'm not prepared to go on and try to pack the court because we'll live to rue that day. fast forward to today, biden wants to keep voters in the dark until election day. biden had the following exchange with a reporter in nevada yesterday. the reporter told biden this. this is the number one issue that i've been asked about from viewers in the past couple of
11:26 am
days. biden responds you've been asked by the viewers who are probably republicans who don't want meeting to talk about what we're doing in the court right now. the reporter says sir, don't voters deserve to know. >> biden says no they don't, i'm not going to play his game, he would love me to talk about it. referring to trump. senator kamala harris was reluctant to make her position clear during her debate against vice president mike pence. she vocalized her opinion on this issue in the past when she campaigned in new hampshire last year. >> i will say that i am interested in having that conversation and i'm open to the swfertion abouconversation aboue number of people on the united states supreme court. >> reporter: and biden has avoided talking about this issue because he wants to talk about two topics that he thinks are winning issues in november. the economy and coronavirus and that is why he's headed to erie, pennsylvania to talk to union leaders and local business
11:27 am
leaders about the economy in his remarks today and we are also learning while biden is making his way here that he did test negative for coronavirus and that's significant because he criticized the president holding the rally that he just did moments ago at the white house without announcing that he had tested negative. arthel: thank you, hillary. from politics to the pandemic, as the coronavirus showing no signs of going away any time soon, after the u.s. reported more than 57,000 new cases on friday. that is the most reported single day infections in nearly two months. it's sparking fears of a second wave. charles watson is live in atlanta. hi, charles. >> reporter: hi, arthel. friday's case count is the highest total reported in the u.s. in nearly two months. that marks three days in a row this week that the u.s. reported 50,000 or more new cases, according to johns hop o hopkins

the washington post. we have been covering the president's speech. james, i mean, frankly pretty remarkable, suffering from coronavirus, coming out, looking good, sounding good. he didn't cough once. i asked brad blakeman earlier about that, just the image, you know, a week ago you hear that the president of the united states is medivaced to walter reed medical center and according to reports he thought he could be, quote, dire, according to a new york magazine report. now he gives the speech cough-free. your reaction. >> he was raring to go. he wants to get back on the campaign trail. he wants to project toughness. the biden campaign told us in the last few minutes that joe biden has tested negative for coronavirus. we don't know when the president's last test was. we don't know from the doctors whether or not he's still contagious. but he wants to get out there. he has just over three weeks to turn the tide in this race and

he's going to these critical swing states. he believes that he is his best messenger for his case. aidaides inside the white housee reporting. some close to him urged him to cautious. white house chief of staff mark meadows and jared kushner were supportive of him giving the balcony speech, they thought it would project a message that he's back to normal. the president clearly enjoyed this kind of rally-style format. he clearly liked hearing the crowd of 500 people chanting we love you and four more years and his spirit seemed to rise a little bit as he talked, even though as you noted. it was maybe the shortest trump political speech we've ever seen. eric: critics say it's irresponsible, sends the wrong message, could still be contagious. doctors say you could shed the virus up to 20 days. you've got a cluster in the
11:36 am
white house, it's a coronavirus zone. our own white house and the president seems to at least by giving this public speech without a mask is flaunting that. what is your sense of that view of the critics? >> well, i think that this is a risk. and the polls show that the majority of americans don't think that the president has taken the virus seriously enough. he obviously wants to project that he has the virus under control, that we're making progress, the message that he's had for months now but we are hearing that cases are rising, not just here in washington, d.c. but in the sun belt and in the northeast and so i think there is a risk politically that the swing voters who maybe voted for the president in 2016, maybe they're happy to see him out there, we're all happy that the president looks healthier certainly than he was but i think there is some risk that they will perceive this as a president still not taking this

eric: new details are emerging about the shocking plot to allegedly kidnap michigan governor gretchen whitmer and try to overthrow the state's government. 13 men have been arrested in this case. they face charges that could send them to prison for life if they are convicted. christina coleman is live for us with the very latest on this case that it's a domestic terrorism case and the charges have been filed. christina, what's the latest? >> reporter: hi, eric. 13 people are facing charges for this, six of the seven suspects

are charged by the state of michigan and they have now been arraigned under domestic terrorism and weapons charges. they were arrested under michigan's anti-terrorism act along with a seventh man who is awaiting extra digs from south carolina. officials allege the men plotted to storm the michigan capitol building to kidnap elected officials including governor whitmer and trigger a civil war. foxnews.com reporting that michigan's attorney general office confirmed that twin brothers charged in the kidnapping plot were photographed on april 30th, standing in a gallery in the state capitol with long guns during one of the large protests against whitmer's coronavirus lockdown orders. a state senator tweeted this photo. she said that men who were directly above letter with rifles and that some of her colleagues were wearing their own bulletproof vests that day. all of this has prompted renewed calls by michigan democrats to have a gun ban in the state

kometotis. i've been involved in two cases where the president did that. that's not likely to happen. we have excellent law enforcement here. this should be done by the law enforcement community and not by the military. the last thing i want to see is the military deployed in the united states for something like that. let's do it through the criminal justice system. that's smart, more effective and it's frankly more measured. arthel: does it seem out of place or odd to you, danny, that a michigan sheriff was seen at a rairally with two of the men charged in this alleged plot to kidnap and kill governor gretchen whitmer. he is sheriff darleaf. he was seen in grand rapids the past may against governor behighwhitmer's stay at home or. is this odd? >> it is odd to me. the sheriff should have a relationship with militia groups. as an fbi director, i did, i met

before we go. the two brothers charged in the plot to kill governor whitmer were photographed with long guns, wearing tactical gear at the michigan capitol building in april. then they showed up to protest the governor's stay at home orders, they were intended to stop the spread of the coronavirus, as you know was the governor's intent. the president did tweet as christina coleman just reported that i do not tolerate any extreme violence. is there anything more the president can do to call these guys off? >> well, let the fbi go. which he did here. let's investigate them. if they're committing crimes or plan to commit crimes, go after them, hammer and tong. we have the first amendment and that's really important but the first amendment does not guarantee you immunity from criminal prosecution in you're conspiring to murder people. so that's where we should be going with this, and i think we are. arthel: i appreciate your comments today. thank you so much. >> thank you, ma'am.
