will allow votes 9 days. >> jillian, first of all, the turnout patterns actually historical norms and they are a little better for republicans a point or two here or there so far. this thing about the nine days extra. there has been litigation filed by democrats in tight states all over the country to change the election rules set by state legislatures. for the most part they are attacks on ballot security measures for absentee mail-in ballots. the same has been the case in north carolina. part of it has been stopped in litigation that i have a part of. they have tried to eliminate the witness requirement. that's been ordered reinstated by a federal judge. but will the eliminating or delaying the final deadline for receipt of mailed in ballots

until nine days after the election coupled with the possibility of dumping ballots into contactless drop boxes outside of election places is terrible. as one of the dissenting judges in the fourth circuit of appeals there are endless lawsuits attempting to change these rules. and apparently it's because people expect to lose and maybe they want to give an opportunity to see things change in the days after the election. but it's not the way we should run elections. jillian: real quick 20 seconds to go. do you think this nine day thing stays in way or are there chances of change at all? >> the lawyers will be filing a request to the united states supreme court today for a stay, an injunction to reverse that result. we are still hopeful and we are going to be village length and keep working. president trump is going to need to win by a lot to avoid these controversies at the end. jillian: unbelievable. dan bishop, thank you for joining us. we appreciate your time.
