joe biden. number one, right off the bat, he said and continued to pound this issue that joe biden is corrupt. as the stories pile up, it's becoming harder and harder for folks to ignore this even if the media will try to hide the ball. number 2, trump kept emphasizing that biden was a failure in his time in the senate and during his eight years as vice president. in the end, president trump said that's why i'm here, i won because of your failures. we are going to bring you full reaction to the debate from trump 2020 senior strategist mercedes schlapp and steve cortes in a moment. with a lingering hunter biden issues that the debate moderator try to minimize with mollie hemingway and sara carter? something you will not see, raymond arroyo and i are here in this incredibly important battleground state of ohio to

ukraine, you do. i don't make money from russia, you made three and a half million dollars. 180 million dollar people out there that have great private health care, far more than what we are talking about with obamacare. joe biden is going to terminate all of those policies. >> not one single person with insurance would lose their insurance under my plan -- the idea that the stock market is booming, only measured where it's happening, the people don't live off the stock market. >> 401(k)s are through the roof, stocks are through the roof and he doesn't come from scranton that she lived there for a short period of time. they did it, we change the policy. they did it, they'd built the cages. who built the cages, joe? >> let's talk about what we are talking about.

what happened? kids were ripped from their arms and separated and now they cannot find over 500 sets of those parents. >> one question, who built the cages? i would love you to ask you that? >> we made a mistake, it took too long to get it right. >> eight years he was vice president, he did nothing except build cages to keep children in. why didn't he do it four years ago? why didn't you do that four years ago, even less than that. you were there just a short time ago and you guys did nothing. i ran because of you, i ran because of barack obama. >> you know who i am, you know who he is. >> don't give me this stuff about how you're this innocent

baby, they call you a corrupt politician. >> laura: joining me now with reaction from the trump campaign, two sr. advisors mercedes schlapp and steve cortes. mercedes, when joe biden says he never took money from a foreign source, does not rule out the possibility that joe biden's family took money from a foreign source and ultimately it made its way through to the vice president himself? >> the more that we are learning about these hunter biden emails, the fact that we saw today that tony bobulinski went out and spoke about his phones that he had come at the emails that he had come of the fact that the big guy was joe biden raises so many questions of the fact that hunter biden sold access to the biden administration to our

enemies. to these companies in china and ukraine. let me tell you, when president trump pressed joe biden and a set of the american people deserve to know, we are owed an explanation, that means that joe biden had better give an x donation to the american people which he hasn't done and i think he's really in a very difficult position as more and more information comes out. we know these investigations will likely happen and put pressure on joe biden on these final days. >> laura: steve, at one point tonight when they were discussing the hunter biden emails, joe biden reverted back to russia as you heard in that montage we just played. it was back to russian disinformation and the president said are you saying this laptop is russian disinformation? that was i think a devastating blow to biden's great ability.

>> absolutely. the democrats unfortunately and joe biden especially, they are like a band that can only play one song and that song is the russia hoax and they returned to it unfortunately again. it's really shameful of joe biden and his campaign to accuse this a naval officer better and, this patriot whistle-blower who has come forward, bobulinski to accuse him of being a russian agent, it's a preposterous and to further assert that this laptop was somehow created by the russians, it's laughable, it's not an excuse that will hold water and president trump prosecuted the case tonight. he did the job the corporate media won't do, the main street press and hopefully in the days to come, he will continue to get pressed by honest people. he has to deliver answers on this. he is purposefully compromised, the most dangerous existential threat in the world, the chinese communist party.

>> laura: the question here is a simple one, joe biden said he never spoke to his son about his business dealings with these international entities, with ukraine and china, never spoke to them. mr. bobulinski came out tonight and he said wait a second, i was there and yes he did speak to them. someone is lying, he said this guy is a longtime democratic voter and supporter, former partner of his son or the vice president is lying. does the american people ever get an answer they are? >> they deserve an answer and that's why it was important for president trump to point this out. let's remember cnn, msnbc, they won't cover the story, they didn't even cover the press conference. they feel there isn't enough evidence which is simply outrageous. we know this great patriot came out and spoke today -- as a patriot i need to come out and tell the truth.

that's why we need to further investigate and see what's going on and where joe biden has been involved. if joe biden is that big guy as hunter biden referred to in those emails. i think this is disastrous for the joe biden campaign and it shows once again that the obsession with donald trump and the russian hoax and a trying to take him down failed miserably and that's joe biden, the career politician, who has made so much money off of these dealings with hunter biden and the truth will come out. >> laura: we are going to get to more of this later on in the show because there's an enormous amount of information that broke today, so we have to put some of that off until later in the show with mollie hemingway and the sara carter. this is an important point that didn't get fact-checked in real time except the president tried to do it but the moderator did not -- joe biden tried to rewrite history on the travel ban with china, watch. >> when i closed, he said this

is a terrible thing, xenophobic, i think he called me racist even. because i was closing it to china. now he says i should have closed it earlier. it doesn't work. speak i didn't see either of those things. >> you certainly did. >> i talked about xenophobia in a different context, it wasn't about closing the border to chinese coming to the united states. >> laura: let's go back to the tweet that joe sent on february 1st. he wrote whoever writes the tweet we are in the midst of the crisis with the coronavirus, we need to lead the way with science, not donald trump's record of hysteria, xenophobia, and fearmongering. are we to believe that tweet which references coronavirus was not calling trump travel ban xenophobic? biden really thinks the american people are complete. >> he does and he thinks videotape doesn't exist, he did the same thing with fracking when he was telling us he wants

to do away with the energy industry of this energy superpower country of ours. to get back to this point on china and xenophobia, he clearly did criticize the president for the president's and early decision that certainly saved lives and it's to connect to this story to the china corruption story, it really makes you wonder, laura, if some of his public policy failures regarding china because he has been coddling and appeasing them for decades, are they motivated because of his private situation? 's private complicity in the fact that he has compromised and paid effectively the chinese communist party. that might perhaps explain why he was so quick to leap to their defense and to say this is xenophobic in late february and in early january. >> laura: that's why we can't have any politicians families on tape with foreign entities, this is so important to states like ohio, pennsylvania, obviously in texas and elsewhere, the energy

policy in our country. trump was able to knock biden totally off-kilter on this, watch. >> i would transition from the oil industry, yes. >> that's a big statement. >> that is a big statement. >> why would you do that? >> because the oil industry pollutes significantly. >> that's a big statement, basically what he's saying is he's going to destroy the oil industry, will you remember that texas, will you remember that, pennsylvania? >> laura: that was a barn door flung wide open and joe biden walked right through it. >> president trump was a leader in determining that america would become an energy independent nation, and then you have joe biden saying he's going to abolish the oil industry

which provides thousands of jobs for hardworking americans. this shows joe biden's true colors. it's about pushing the green new deal, pushing an agenda that destroys our economy and that is not acceptable. it's why we know president trump, someone who has run successful businesses knows what it takes to build a strong economy, he's done at once, he's doing it again and we have joe biden that has no clue -- the career politician that has no idea how to run a company, what it means to help employees and create jobs. he outsource jobs and doesn't understanding what's happening here in the economy. >> laura: somehow donald trump still manages to run as an outsider up against joe biden. thank you so much, joining me now is house minority leader kevin mccarthy. i want to start with this moment, the debate moderator, i

>> you've got to talk them into it, joe. >> laura: didn't the democrats have the both the house and the senate for the first two years of the obama presidency? >> not just the house and the senate, they had 60 votes in the senate. it's not just eight years, they had 47 years, why couldn't they do it? i thought president trump was exceptional. think of three major things he did tonight, he explained to the american public why he ran. people like it joe biden -- president trump has done all of this and just four years. the other question that was raised, ending the energy of america, think of all the jobs. more importantly, it makes us more dependent on countries that don't like america, and makes our energy costs higher and the real question that comes it's going to continue to go every single day, what we are learning, these secrets are so shameful. you know the people who know whether joe biden took the money? the people in his business and

>> he has a lot of business interests, he's over there talking to the ukrainian -- >> the head of intelligence services for the united states government is now saying the laptop is not a bit of disinformation from russia but they are authenticating it. the fact is the media isn't fully covering it, we will cover more of this in our next segment and a little bit -- big question. who won this debate, were you surprised by anything you saw? you said you were surprised. >> i was surprised that trump was able to follow the rules seemingly in the very beginning of it, he got a little loose at the end but at the beginning, he composed himself, i was very surprised. >> you like this ability we saw tonight. >> i really did. >> go ahead, real quick. >> i would say trump did a better job in this debate but he was forced to do a better job in this debate. who won was mike i would say it had to be biden.

is never discussed business with hunter. that is false. i have firsthand knowledge about this because i directly dealt with the biden family including joe biden. hunter often referred to his father as the big guy or "my chairman." i have no wish to bury anyone come of the few contributions i have made have been the democrats. to protect my family name and my business reputation, i need to ensure the true facts are out there. >> laura: that was hunter biden's former business partner navy vet tony bobulinski speaking out about the lies being peddled by the media and the biden campaign. bobulinski handed over troves of corroborating evidence emails, that details how middle-class joe stood to profit handsomely off a shady deal with the chinese oil tycoon -- not one

network outside of fox covered his comments live. a drawing to me now is mollie hemingway senior editor at "the federalist," both are fox news contributor's. this came up tonight but you can tell it was a topic that kristin welker preferred to get passed quickly. >> she didn't seem to want to talk about it, it's important to talk about i thought tony bobulinski did a good job of explaining why he's talking about it. joe biden says he never discusses bid business and has personal firsthand knowledge it's not true. he has not just emails but texts and company documents that show how hunter biden and james biden who is joe biden's brother how they viewed joe biden being

involved in their family business. one of the things, there is another business associate who tells tony bobulinski at one point, you're not supposed to say that joe is involved in less you're in a face-to-face meeting, you say that for the face-to-face meeting. they are discussing openly how to talk about joe's involvement. this is interesting, you have a person on the record, this may be better and on the record, on video saying he has personal firsthand knowledge -- some of the texts describe a meeting he had with joe biden as part of this business deal that they were trying to get through. also that there was a 10% stake going to joe biden, that deal didn't go through but clearly joe biden was involved according to this and there is definitely news interest in covering it. >> laura: this documentary evidence to cover it up and conceal its name, if that's not a smoking gun evidence of an

attempted cover up, i don't know what is, this is a 2017 text from former hunter biden partner to mr. bobulinski -- don't mention joe being involved it's only when you're face-to-face. i know you know that but they are paranoid -- who is they? >> they are the family, the family is paranoid. the bidens are paranoid obviously because they are double dealing with foreign governments. the chinese are using hunter biden as leverage. he's leverage for the ukrainians, he's leverage for the chinese and here you have the vice president of the united states who is in office at the time that many of these things are going down. in charge of ukrainian geopolitical machinations with the obama administration over there, very open about it. it was very public, they want to

be very careful. i want to bring something up really quick because it's not only tony bobulinski who was concerned and he had his names in these emails -- let's go back to 2016. you have george kent at the state department saying the same thing -- concerned in emails to people who work with him saying i'm really uncomfortable with hundred bidens actions in ukraine, i'm uncomfortable with him being on the burisma board. you have other people saying the same thing, this is not just one man alone -- there are many people, many more people who are going to come forward and say the same. >> laura: terrific point, we forget so much has happened with the bidens. this is another 2017 text -- "man, you are right, let's get the company set up. then tell h and a family to get joe involved."

what company are they trying to set up for joe to come in? without joe, what is the company presumably? it's nothing. >> that is what is interesting about these texts which have been handed over too many reporters emma they show everyone is openly acknowledging that the reason why hunter and james are involved is because of the biden family name. hunter talks specifically about how the value he brings is being so close to his father, this is of interest. so many high-level foreign corporations were hoping to get access through joe biden and his brother and his son -- the whole reason this came out was a senate report recently showing a chinese company did make a deal for hunter biden through different means -- we do know there is a lot of money here.

a lot of global money and we had four years where every meeting between everybody with a last name trump and everyone associated with trump was of high interest to the media, no matter how much it had to do with anything. here you have actual dealings with high-level chinese companies, they are close to the chinese communist party and the biden family and you are not having the news media cover it even 11 billionth as much as they did any trump family meeting. >> can i add to that really quickly? >> laura: i lost my audio which is why it was pointed to myself and i can't hear but i can lip read and now i can hear myself in my own earpiece -- this is life to become of this is what happens. ladies, thank you so much and this is behind the scenes, crazy times of this election in 2020. we appreciated, thank thank you so much. in moments, raymond and his swing states focus group returned to answer some of your

out you couldn't. >> i could and actually have been on obamacare for five years and it was great. i am not a mean person, i'm more of an awesome person and it's better for america that we all have coverage. >> the law dis- incentivize getting health care in the first place, people are more willing to pay the penalty than they are to get health insurance in the first place under the law. >> laura: when you look to pay her health care premium every month, whether it's subsidized by a business or not -- did you know or did yours go up over the last four or five years? >> it's stayed pretty steady, i haven't noticed any specific change. >> mine has tripled. >> small business went way up, we are thrilled this year we are only at a 2.8% increase, the least amount we've had in the last ten years. >> laura: biden and trump couldn't have been more different in their approach to china, take a listen.
