well on fox business come all night long. the only place you can get market reaction or futures market reaction. remember four years ago how the markets responded to the incredible victory of donald trump then? and it was off to the races. we are back at it tonight, here comes "the five." musical medical >> dana: hello, everyone, i am dana perino along with dagen mcdowell, juan williams, jesse watters and greg gutfeld. it's 5:00 in new jersey and new york city and this is "the five." ♪ we are coming to you live from liberty state park prior one of the most highly anticipated presidential races in american history. the time for talking and campaigning is over for the candidates and it's now up to the american people to decide. the first batch of polls just close in two hours from now and then we are off to the races. so far over 100 million

americans have cast ballots and we are expecting record total turnout. as for president trump and biden joe biden, both candidates are competent and making final pitches. >> president trump: winning is easy, losing is never easy. not for me, it's not. when you see rallies, the likes of which in the history of this country or the history of the world that no one has ever seen before, looking at different locations, we are seeing lines of people and they are wearing a lot of red material. >> we will have more people vote this year than any other time in american history. he's got a lot of things backwards, one of which is that he thinks he can decide who gets to vote. the people get to decide who gets to be president.

>> dana: so here we are at this beautiful location, thank you fox for bringing us all here and thank you colleagues, it's been a great election year. jesse, let's start with you. here we are at 5:00, some of the polls close in two hours. >> jesse: the trump campaign is cautiously optimistic, they are confident and they like the numbers they are seeing so far. the base is turning out in key rural and red districts throughout the country and we have seen low turnout and some of the democrat strongholds. fulton county, georgia, and the philadelphia area, and the university precincts and ohio so that's good news so far. the campaigns that they had a good first half of the day but it's not over yet. people need to remain in lines. the race is not over. the lines are long and some of these republican strongholds. it's raining in some places and it's snowing in maine, so they believe that if people stay online and continue to turn out

the way they have modeled their votes to turn out they believe they will win the night. but like i said, it's not over yet and they feel like they are in a very strong position. >> dana: all right. what do you hear from the biden campaign if anything? >> they are well-positioned to coming into tonight, it comes down to five states, pennsylvania, north carolina, georgia, florida and arizona. if vice president biden can win just one of the five, it's pretty much night over, game done, for donald trump. because biden leads or is tied in all of the states. biden, if he holds what was the democrats blue wall of michigan, wisconsin, pennsylvania, the clinton states, to go with that, it's hard for him to lose. on the other side president trump would have to run the table. even if he were to win pennsylvania he would then have to go and win ohio, arizona,

florida and texas and a lot of those are on the line. so right now as we sit here the odds favor joe biden but i am still anxious. i feel bitten by what happened last time. you know, it's a little bit like playing and you say, there's only one bullet in this gun. >> dana: i've never played that game. >> greg: you only play it once. [laughs] joe was the only person on the planet where a bullhorn makes it harder to hear him. i could not understand anything. i want to say how grateful i am that we are spending this historic moment in american history in new jersey. okay. so if you haven't voted yet, or am i looking come over here? if you haven't voted yet, here is the best to vote. i haven't voted in i think 20 years. >> dana: your kidding.

>> greg: i consider not voting a vote. i voted today for one reason and for one very small man, robert rice. when he said that he demanded a commission to identify and then call out and punish those who supported trump, i thought to myself, i can't be on any side or standoff to the side while there is this sort of intimidation going on. so i thought that's what robert rice and that's how the left feel, i'm going to vote for trump and i'm going to say, come and get me. please come and get me, i voted for trump. because i never felt that way. i've never heard that in my life where there's a group of people who are organizing mobs to punish people because they supported somebody they don't like. so this economist keebler elf got me out of bed and went to the church in my town and i voted. i actually think him for that

because you have to be noble in victory and defeat. when someone says they are going to do that when they win, that gets you off your bottom. >> dana: i hear that. degen? >> dagen: i voted today, too. in it out, 4 minutes. >> greg: i was like that in college. [laughs] should i have said that? >> dana: i could feel that coming. [laughs] >> dagen: but that's why trump was campaigning so vigorously up until the very end because he needed to send the message. you need to get out there and vote, it's perfectly safe. i think the estimates were 42% of republican voters would vote on election day. and he had to push back against the professional panic paddlers from cnn and msnbc.

for weeks, day after day, covid, covid. danger, danger. >> dana: not only that but, from militias that would show up at the pole. >> dagen: like tweeting stories like gun ownership has sorted this year, what are you saying? the media was cropping up joe biden in two ways because he was clearly leading on covid and what he thinks about it, not his handling of it. but also i think they were trying to discourage people from going to the polls today. they were trying to send a message to republican voters, undecideds or anybody, don't go to the poll, it's too dangerous. but you have to get the voters out today. >> dana: we will have some up-to-the-minute news analysis and updates throughout the hour. and bill hemmer has the top things to look out for. >> tell i always wanted to push

the buttons. you know the amazing thing about right now? all opinions matter. because we really don't know much. here's the weather scenario, it's america's favorite part of the game. here's what the trump team feels pretty good about tonight. they feel pretty good about florida, they feel good about georgia, they feel good about north carolina and that would bump them up to 185. also we are hearing a lot of polling suggesting that ohio looks good and so does texas. earlier in the week over saturday this good pole came in for the president out of "the des moines register" with him showing up seven. so if you do that then come and look what you have done here in the southeast? would be at 247. so what do we do? we watch tonight and we wait. we wait for states like pennsylvania that might take some time and maybe michigan which might take some time as well. arizona will turn results at about 10:00 eastern time. maricopa county is looking good, that area in phoenix, you would

be at 258 but not the 270 mark. does nevada break the president's way? maybe. for the sake of the argument, let's come back here to the upper midwest. the president wins michigan, that would do it. when michigan by 10,600 votes from four years ago. if it's not michigan, doesn't hold wisconsin? that was razor-thin which would not yet be enough to get you two to 70. so then what else could you do? what happens later in the week? do you make a call on pennsylvania tonight? remember where we were in 2016, it was 2:30 a.m. and we made the call on pennsylvania. that would be enough. with regards to joe biden, is what peter doocy was reporting about four hours ago. they said they could lose florida, pennsylvania, ohio and texas. so let's say that's the case. how does joe biden when the

white house if you make the argument that those four states have been conceded? you would have to come down here into georgia and pick that off. maybe that happens tonight but these upper midwest, we keep coming back to it. minnesota hasn't gone for a republican since 1972. it is not right for the taking in 2,020? it might be. perhaps. but if not it remains blue. wisconsin was razor close four years ago. if you were to get michigan under the scenario, you are at 248. the southeastern corner becomes very important. what about north carolina, doesn't break blue in 2020? if it does, it would be at 263. but i'm looking in the northeast. new hampshire is something that could probably get you closer to 270. then it's in nevada and if you can hold it that would be good enough news for joe biden to win the white house this year. under that scenario that we

running mate's on the kamala harris was in michigan earlier. just one thing we want to point out to our viewers, we have some breaking election results, which are starting to come in from our fox news alert voter analysis election survey. you can see that on the side of your screen, a breakdown of all the data from the 50 states to help explain who has voted and why they voted in the way they did and it shows us what issues are the most important to voters. we will update that information all night. so they not, it is, i guess, not traditional to have the entire ticket out there in swing states campaigning on election day. what does that tell you? >> dana: while the democrats -- we talked about bed wetters. right? i mean i can't imagine being somebody on the biden campaign that has to take the phone calls from everybody, the columnist in the county chairman calling and saying, is everything okay, i'm

hearing it's not okay and the stars are not aligned, but i think they are smart not to take it for granted. incumbents usually win. it's a real copolitics approval is at 46% and that is the same number that he got in the popular vote in 2016. can he improve upon that? it might be a different mix of voters. if you didn't vote in 2016 are you more likely to vote in 2018? the biden people are hoping that if you didn't vote then, you vote now for them. i have to send a compliment to jen o'malley dillon who is the biden campaign manager and she seeks no publicity at all. kind of like bill stepian of the trump campaign. they sit behind the scenes and they are worker bees. she is very cautious. she's told the democrats don't take anything for granted. >> jesse: we were told by the media, this was a ten-point race and obviously that's not the actual case.

it will be a very close election. jen o'malley dillon has dana was saying was on a call today and she said, here's how the biden campaign can win if we don't win florida or pennsylvania. and a lot of people looked at that and said, whoa. i thought those two states were solid blue? >> juan: this is the thing. i understand how you are positioning this because you want to be pro-trump. spate one oh do you understand what i'm doing? >> juan: she's just saying there's so many options for joe biden. the key here is that biden expanded the map. i said this to someone earlier, i was on the radio show. in my lifetime, one has georgia been in place for democrats? >> jesse: one has minnesota and wisconsin been in place for republicans? >> juan: in 2016, trump won some of those. i think biden has expanded to

not only georgia but we are talking about texas, arizona, iowa. i mean that's pretty amazing. >> jesse: i believe president trump will win texas, florida, iowa, arizona and north carolina. >> juan: and if you're a good boy i'm going to bring you a big present on christmas. the president today said that losing is tough. he looked like he was ready to lose. the second thing i would say is, when the president says they are counting votes of late, after november 3rd, that means the system is rigged. they are cheating. that's not true. that's not evidence of corruption or ineptitude, that's just the way the state counts. pennsylvania has likely given the historic rate of mail-in votes, they will come in later. speed when i saw the president today. they said his voice was a little horse but he did five events and got back to the white house,

dagan, at 3:30 in the morning last night. >> dagen: i've felt like i'd looked like that every day because he was working his blank off. joe biden only has to follow one mantra, don't be hillary clinton. he has to be out there actively campaigning up until the very end. he also has to work against a quartet of portables that popped up potentially to unnerve voters in recent weeks. fears of talk down because uncle joe ain't bringing your job back with empathy. censorship from the liberality and superrich in silicon valley. the biden loop see or promise, whatever you want to call it, of the started to kill off the oil and gas industry. and the final one in my mind, all this plywood going up in all these major cities. the business is boarding up, they were looted by riders, a few months ago and joe biden would not step up and condemn

it, only turned on mayhem when it didn't pull well for him. so those four things are not good for the biting campaign. >> jesse: and market is up big if, you are ten times richer. i heard you got some plywood. >> greg: i was at the market and i got some apples and oranges and pears. i'm in a pretty good mood. i think it would be pretty good if it wasn't an election. the trump supporter's tended to be pretty happy and the biden supporters and biden voters seem really anxious. is that because of the election or is that just who they are? there's an interesting thing where, for republicans and conservatives, politics isn't a lifestyle. if they lose this election including trump, if he loses, they just get on with their lives. but it's not like that with the democrats. this is a big deal because they politicize every single part of her life. academics, education of all

kinds, entertainment and sports. everywhere you go it's politics and it drives republicans crazy because that's only one part of their life. i will finish with an analogy. for the left, life is like a skyscraper. the bottom floor is politics and if you pull that out it all goes down. for republicans and conservatives, in general life is like a shopping mall. if that once her closes, politics gets boarded up and all the other stores remain open. the other stores could be family, religion, friends, wine, sports and hobbies. we are all not dependent or touched by politics and everything. and i think that's why you see -- you get to see a good mood no matter what. people will be sad if trump loses but it's not this internal my life is over sadness that you will see on the streets if biden loses. >> jesse: and if you are unhappy, read greg's book. it's a self-help book for people

declare victory and told's official. but you know i'm wondering, do you think he can resist the urge if, in fact, it takes days to count all the ballots? >> jesse: no, because he will know if you have a margin of victory in a state like pennsylvania which is bigger than the amount of uncounted late ballots that came in the mail, you will declare victory. and i think it's kind of shady for the biden campaign to align with the media because i think the media will be on a hair trigger to declare blue states for joe and they will be dragging their feet with red states for trump even though there will be overwhelming evidence that he won some of the states. i think the country deserves a claim victory and i hope in my heart of hearts it does not come down to litigation in pennsylvania. hopefully trump can get over 270 with the win in wisconsin so we don't even have to worry about pennsylvania. you can already see democrats aligning up a celebrity campaign

that saying, let's just wait this out, this could take days. let's be patient. those are the kind of things that you would expect to hear from someone who is up ten points. i can see they are already preparing the groundwork for long delays and lawsuits to try to extend voting and change rules. it will be decided in the courts if that's the game they want to play. >> juan: so what happens on the other side when these early states to go for biden, do you think he should come out and declare victory? >> greg: i think he will wait for the media to do it for him. i think that's a game plan. i think he will use them to say, it's clear. because there's something going on with the dems, they are worried. the internal polling or is telling them something, that they would be continually bringing this up. they shouldn't be worried about that. and we are not even talking about what happens if kanye declares victory.

[laughs] >> juan: but you heard him say a minute ago if we don't have a winner tonight, he doesn't like it. but i think we have tens of thousands of military ballots that come from overseas that would be counted tonight, you have all those mailing votes given the pandemic, what is he talking about? >> dagen: he's talking about, who wants to be a loser. nobody steps back and says i really want to lose it. it's trump is being trump and you know who else is being trump? biden is being trump. his plan to assert control. >> greg: autocrats. [laughs] >> dagen: and i want to hear everyone in the media saying what a tyrant, what a dictator,

joe biden has taken over before the election is official. and then you hear his campaign manager talking about under that scenario will he be declared the winner tonight? he won't if he gets 270 electoral votes. oh, really? i would like to see a little bit of a media push back on this. >> juan: what about the media? the networks are in a tricky position tonight to make a call. i remember as bill hemmer was saying it wasn't until 2:00 a.m. that they called it in 16 so what do you think, should they be extraordinarily cautious or to the point rather they just look like they had their hand slapped and they are not doing their job? >> dana: a lot of people are comparing this election to 2016 but some people counting votes are remembering 2,000. remember florida's calls, gore concedes, a couple hours and he takes it back. i think people have been very

cautious ever since then, they don't use the exit polls anymore and it's not good in this story to be first, it's good to be accurate. so it will take as long as it takes and we will get there eventually. also just noting as we look at this voter analysis, this issue on health care, abortion, gun rights and climate change is very interesting to see. in a way, using a different electorate from four years ago if those things turn out to be the case. the other thing i would like to point out, the democrats raised so much money and they swapped republicans when it comes to campaign finance. you don't hear any of the democrats saying we really need finance campaign finance reform, they are going to end up spending like $100 million in kentucky for and in the graph to lose to mitch mcconnell by 12%. and maybe also in south carolina. you think of how much money is being spent, i think they will

park, you can actually get along with anybody if you have a pet. you can find a way to talk about it. i do think animals are great and they really do bring people together. >> greg: i have some rules at the dog park but it was at 3:00 a.m. that was in the fox analysis. >> dagen: and my calling on this earth is cleaning that up. because i clean up the poop of other dogs if the their owners t pick it up. >> dagen: and in new york city, i hope it's dog poop. that being said, i've been nervous. i don't know why my fingernails look like i'd dug a grave in the dirt. and i love animals. i cuddle with strangers animals in the street which makes me a superfreak. >> greg: juan, would animals

be be worse or better off if they have politics in their lives? >> juan: i was thinking about, before you did that, there is so much anxiety but i kind of think if you voted today, i think you did what you needed to do. i think if you organized and he went out -- especially if you are a poll worker today, you did all that you could do. and if you are someone who actually got involved doorknocking and the rest, you did more than your fair share and i think you have to look to the next time around. no need for anxiety. >> greg: i agree, and it feels good because you are part of the democratic process and the republic. jessie, i'm sure you took history classes and understand those words. >> jesse: yes. the liberal psyche is designed to crave power so when liberals are out of power it's not only a political crisis but a personal crisis and they need to do everything by any means

necessary to regain power and that's why they are so anxious. republicans, we don't have wild mood swings depending on who is in the white house. we drink, we go to work, not necessarily in that order, but that's what we do. >> dagen: those people have left. you can see he's down to 20 states with 125. i think that's a measure of how things have shifted. we don't know how things turn out but we now know where things start on this night and i think it's a big difference from going back to the tremendous upset that he achieved in 2016. >> dagen: hillary clinton supporters crying outside of the javits center. >> jesse: i would say he's starting with 120 electoral votes, at the top trump campaign remains cautiously optimistic. they like the numbers they are seen so far and if republicans stay in line and continue to vote, they feel confident that they are going to have a good night. right now florida is looking pretty good, they are up about 100,000 votes in florida. here is on at the margins in maricopa county look good and the rural areas in arizona look good. nevada in clark county, they are not seeing democrat turn out like they thought they were going to see and north carolina

so many stories in there, european immigrants in the late 19th and early 20th set century processed in the new world at nearby ellis island. as you can see here the terminal it's directly across the hudson river from the grand skyline of new york city. now of course not every immigrant went to new york. at take a look at these train lines. they are the starting point for immigrants who went to find new homes and new lives all across the usa. the area was transformed into a park on flag day. 1976 was a bicentennial gift to the usa from the stat state of new jersey and recently there was a new addition. as you can see here that was the 9/11 memorial and it looks directly across from what used to be the world trade center buildings. and finally here is what our site looks like from the outside and dana and i are going to jump in a boat after the show and paddle our way back to manhattan for special coverage. >> dana: are you going to wear
