studied it yet but the truth is kids under 12 haven't been getting very sick from covid-19 and as we rollout these vaccines we will test the more in younger people. right now over the age of 12, over 65, yes. jillian: adding to that is a comment on instagram that asks will be safe for children and adults with disabilities for preexisting conditions? >> preexisting conditions is who we want to get the vaccine. when people ask about disabilities they are worried, that somehow there is a virus in these vaccines, there isn't. it is just a protein completely safe for those with disabilities. that is the group we want to protect. jillian: you touched on this instagram person, once you receive the vaccine, how long is immunity? will we receive it in cvs, walgreens, etc. or will it require a doctor's visit?

>> the pfizer vaccine has to be kept 80 degrees below 0, it will not be found in pharmacies, you have to find it in major medical centers or temporary clinics set up in hospitals. the answer is no but the moderna vaccine can be kept warm, round freezer temperature, we will see that at cvs, walgreens, taking the two together it will be of everywhere. in terms of how long immunity last we don't know yet but a recent study showed promising that this immunity may last longer than we thought. i wouldn't be surprised if it lasts more than a year. jillian: an email from jerry, if the vaccine was only studied for the last eight month how do we know what the long-term side effects would be? this is a vital question at this time where people are wondering it is coming along at such rapid speed which on the one hand is fantastic but on the other hand people want to ensure if they

take it is safe. >> another great question. throughout history when we study vaccines we look most extensively at the early side effects the first several months. these vaccines are very safe except for some headaches. we are not seeing any severe side effects. that bodes well, we are going to be following them over a long time just to make sure. we are not seeing the short-term side effects, the longer the vaccines are around the longer we will be aware of that. one more bit of reassurance. the vaccine itself the active ingredient, the messenger rna is out of your body in a couple days. the immune response is promoted but you get it out of your body so it is not hanging around. and a good thing. chances are very high if you have no short-term side effects he will not have longer-term either. jillian: how long does it
