it's literally our patriotic duty as americans. for me it's wearing a mask, keeping social distancing, limiting the size of any group we are in until we have a vaccine, that's the most effective tool took about the virus. starting on day one of our presidency, we will take steps to change the course of this disease. more testing will find people with cases and get them away from one another, slowing the number of infections. more protective gear for businesses and schools to do the same. reducing the number of cases. we all have a role to play in beating this crisis. the federal government has vast powers to combat the virus. i commit to you, i use all of those powers to lead a national

coordinated response. but the federal government can't do this alone. each of us has responsibility in our own lives to do what we can do to slow the virus. every decision we make matters. every decision we make can save lives. none of these steps are asking people to take our political statements. the good news is there has been significant record-breaking progress recently. in several of these vaccines, they look extraordinarily effective. that's on track and they need to put in place a distribution plan to get the entire country immunized as soon as possible. which we will do.

that will take time. i'm hoping news of the vaccine will serve as an incentive to every american to take these simple steps to get control of the virus. there is real hope. tangible hope. so hang on. don't let yourself to the fatigue which i understand it is real fatigue. i know we can and will beat this virus. life will turn return to normal, i promise you. this will happen, it will not last forever. so yes. it's been really hard here, particularly hard but i still believe we have much to be thankful for. there's so much to hope for. much to build on. much to dream of.

scheduled for friday, another hearing scheduled for december 3rd in nevada in which the judge agreed to present allow evidence that there was massive fraud and illegal voting there. >> anything that allows him to go forward and present evidence helps them. in fact in pennsylvania, they actually decided to drop that after having them in their original complaint. as we have said again and again, they need pennsylvania plus two other states. so even if they make an little progress, it was certified yesterday that that was the end again. >> john: republican lawmakers

going over evidence of potential fraud, is this just an exercise or could this go somewhere? >> i don't see it. rather than allowing the public to do it, i think they would have to undo all of the election law that has been done in pennsylvania, which gives the vote to the public and obviously that's a nonstarter. it's something of an exhibition but it's not even an adversary hearing, it's only the republican members of the legislature and it doesn't have any legal effects. in the meantime, yesterday what does have legal effect is that the electors were certified. >> john: it really quickly, what do you think the impact would be on the country if the republican legislature sat republican electors instead of democratic electors in a state that joe biden won?

are making about jobless claims, you are reminded about how long it might take us to get there and the pain we might have to go through to go through. we tabulate them every week and they have been high throughout this pandemic historically but they have been coming down. in fact one last week the number came in at 770,000, that's a first time we've seen two weeks in a row when they've gone up since back in july. we know ways to go, the rise begins to shut down, and it looked like an amazing economic recovery in quarter three. if the shutdowns continue to expand, what could that potentially due to the recovery? >> while it's directly related to the states in terms of which

>> john: officials in california are investigating how prisoners across the state ended up with more than $140 million in pandemic relief money. >> it's basic theft, john. and less risky than holding up a 7-eleven. thousands essentially stealing it, a thousand dollars per week. 20,000 paid to inmates alone including 133 on death row. in many cases family and friends did file under inmates names and someone stole their identity. an unemployment debit card was sent to their outside address. in one case they sent benefits to 16 inmates at one address and in another state paid one person

plaintiff the sole effect is a congressman who brought it, who one, but his election hasn't been certified. it is a case that's important, and ironically it should have been brought pre-election. >> john: maddock, you and i were both there in year 2,000 when the gore campaign and the bush campaign were battling it out. how do you compare what we see now with what we saw back in 2,000? >> i was working for al gore at the time and it was a heck of a fight, the election was decided by 557 votes. all the votes in florida have been counted and the fight was over the recount. but what happened was both sid sides, bush and gore fought hard but with dignity.

in the end of the supreme court ruled, even though our team thought it was a mistake in the ruling was wrong, al gore bowed out graciously and with one of the patriotic speeches in american history. it was incredible. by contrast what we've got is this insane attack on the american democratic system. trump loss this race in a landslide. that's 450,000 votes and it's not a close election and it's a pathetic display. >> john: is this about the president trying to win the election or about the president trying to convince his supporters that he didn't "lose" and he would have a won if it wasn't for all this "pride and illegality? >> i honestly don't know what the president's aim is in this regard. president-elect biden, the

transition is underway which is good and constructive and i'm glad to see that starting to take place with all that illiterate speed. and i do think some of these questions like in pennsylvania, whether or not the state legislature has the authority under the constitution's and those that have should have been brought in advance and sold his claims could be resolved to come potentially have effective the comic affected the outcome. >> john: new york governor andrew cuomo said something interesting just recently. he had some sympathy for the way president trump has been treated by the media come think the media has taken on a "nastier tone." >> the way they question president trump at some of these press conferences is just, i have never heard that tone with

he was all about a servants heart from a boy scout all the way to the marines right out of high school and firefighting, and eventually went to arson for the last five years and he just loved it. he had a real passion for it. >> john: what was it that drove his passion for service to his country and service to his community? >> he was a natural hero, i think. he always just wanted to do the right thing. lots of integrity, and you know, he said you need to do the right thing no matter what. he's always had that honest, good heart. >> john: my understanding is that he helped design the home that you are living in and frank's organization has relieved you have any encumbrance that you had in terms of the mortgage, they paid off the mortgage for you. what does it mean that you and

your two children, sydney and grayson, will be able to stay in the home that your husband helped design and build? >> it definitely means the world to us. that's one of my first thoughts when everything happened, was old, my gosh. do we have to uproot ourselves and what are we going to do, it's a very big piece of mind let tunnel to towers gave us and we are so grateful. they are amazing. >> john: i remember when my father died when i was five years old, that was my mother's biggest worry, do i have to sell the house or stay in the house or where are we going to live? frank, you talked about the need and how this just scratches the surface. the last time you are on we got 500,000 in donations for tunnel to towers, how great is the need? you got about 30 seconds left. >> here's the thing. we have literally over a thousand people waiting for this
