you're watching "fox & friends first" on this monday morning. i'm todd piro. carley: i'm carley shimkus. a fox news alert, today the coronavirus vaccine will arrive at hospitals nationwide. todd: ashley strohmier is live at saint barnabas hospital in the bronx. >> reporter: the vaccinations could begin here this morning at saint barnabas in the bronx, this as they are expected to get the first batch of doses here pretty soon. the first pfizer, biontech vaccine left several locations in michigan sunday. people could be seen cheering on the trucks leaving, some people holding trump signs too. the first batches arrived at lax overnight. the airport shared a photo of that on twitter. one challenge to distribution is pfizer's vaccines need to be stored at extremely low temperatures. the company says gps enabled sensors will help track the shipments and ensure they stay cold. listen. >> we've also got a portable cold storage capability as these

vaccines are being sent out to other locations around the country. we'll be able to get some of those small ultra low temperature vaccine freezers out as well. >> reporter: the first round of shipments will be staggered arriving at 145 distribution centers today, 425 sites will goaget it tuesday and the reason maining 66 on wednesday. the moderna vaccine could be approved this week. hhs secretary alex azar said the u.s. is on track to give 100 million doses by march. >> we could have every nursing home patient vaccinated in the united states by christmas. it's really remarkable. 100 million shots in arms by the end of february is very much in scope. >> reporter: frontline workers and nursing home residents are expected to be the first to get vaccinated. government employees are at the front of the line. the nfc confirming overnight that senior officials across all three branches will get them in accordance with, quote,

government protocols established in executive policy. president trump however is pushing back, he tweeted people working in the white house should receive the vaccine somewhat later in the program unless specifically necessary. he then added he looks forward to taking the vaccine, quote, at the appropriate time. carley and todd, back to you. todd: ashley strohmier live for us outside saint barnabas in the bronx. carley: dr. jeanette nesheiwat joined us last hour, sharing her take on this historic day for america. >> i became emotionally yesterday when i saw the fed ex jet taking off, i knew it was a sign of hope. it truly is the beginning of the end of this pandemic or at least gives us an ability to control the pandemic because the vaccine alone is not going to end this pandemic. we need everyone to take their part and help us mitigate the spread of this virus. it's going to take some time to immuneize the entire nation. so it was almost i would say tears of joy yesterday.

carley: dr. nesheiwat went on to say that the vaccine couldn't have come at a better time as the country struggles through a surge in new covid cases. todd: in a "fox & friends" exclusive interview, president trump telling our very own brian kilmeade he will not back down in his election legal fight. >> we're going to continue to go forward. we have numerous local cases. some of the states have got rigged and robbed from us. we won every one of them. we won pennsylvania, we won michigan, we won georgia by a lot. we have a governor, republican governor that's worse than a democrat, he's terrible. he's hurting kelly and david very ba badly, the senators that are terrific people. carley: the president also slamming the judges in his case, saying none of them have had the courage to sign with them. todd: lisa booth says the president's fight is being downplayed by the left. >> we're at a difficult juncture because the left largely controls the narrative.

watch. he has said that he will protect the working class, when he knows he really wants to abort the working class and i believe that the strategy for defunding the police and all of that will stop police brutality, let's defund the police. no, you need sensitivity training, of course, deescalation methods but not defunding. so i believe that his abortion agenda and defunding of the police is not good for america an it's not good for african-americans. how can you help your own parishoners, your own community and you say you help them by advising them to abort their futures, abort their babies. todd: here's a campaign statement. he says reverend warnock believes a patient's room is too small for a patient, doctor and the u.s. government. will this letter hurt warnock's ability to get enough of the black vote to win georgia?

>> we want the african-american community to wake up. as a christian evangelist of course i would never advise anyone to abort their baby or to support choice and if the hospital room is too big for the government, it is certainly big enough for god and thou shall not kill. carley: you mentioned defund the police. joe biden said he is wor worried about that message. take a listen to leaked audio he had with a phone call with civil rights leaders. take a listen to what he had to say. >> i don't think we should make that a big issue going in before january 5th. give me advice, whether we should do that before january 5th. because that's how they beat the living hell out of us across the country, saying that we're talking about defunding the police. how much do we push between now and january 5th, we need those two seats, about police reform.

carley: so he says that he doesn't necessarily want to defund the police but he is calling for police reform. what's your reaction? >> joe biden, raphael warnock, john ossoff, know that they have an you agenda to reduce the population of african-americans. and so i think that it's outrageous for them to pretend that they do not and to make all of these nice platitudes. so they do want to defund the police. they said it before. they support that movement. not the movement, the organization, black lives matter, and a lot of them are funded by planned parenthood. abort your babies, that's going to solve your problems of. defund the police. and so when they come in your communities and burn down your businesses and those types of things, that's what the black lives matter organization and antifa do. they do support that type of agenda and they are being funded by others who support their

carley: a winter storm dropped heavy snow in parts of oklahoma, causing dangerous conditions on the road. the storm is moving towards the northeast, expected to hit the region later this week. todd: meteorologist janice dean tracking all of this. my wife goes to me, good news, todd, you're going to get your new snowblower. i looked at her with disdane. >> there's two storms. the first one will move in today. for the new york city area, mainly a rain event. it's too warm to get those really big snow totals. into wednesday and thursday, that's our second storm. that's the one we're going to have to watch that could bring plowable snow to the i-95 corridor. let's track it here.

current temperatures, it's a little too warm to get that snow in place as this first system blows through. but this system is actually going to allow the cold air from canada to sink southward and make it appropriate for snowfall on wednesday and thursday for our next storm system. so there's the satellite, radar imagery, there's the first storm coming through today. it could bring some snow to parts of the interior northeast. but the coastal areas will remain a rain event. the second storm system, that's what we're talking about. and look at the forecast temperatures. the temperatures are going to go down even further and that's what's going to set the table for perhaps our next big storm system, a big whopper, we think. but you know what? it's too soon and the two reliable forecast models that we have are not agreeing with each other. so the bottom line is the first storm system not a big deal. the second one, that's the

today is the day that the electoral college meets in the united states. now, what that means is that the slates of electors that were selected in each individual state, basically by the popular vote in each state, will meet today in their respective states. so for example, the slate of electors in florida that were voted on that support president trump were elected by the popular vote of florida, they will meet in florida and cast their ballots presumably in that case, in favor of donald trump. in the other states that joe biden apparently won, they will cast their electoral college votes for joe biden. those votes will be sent to washington, to congress, to accept or reject on the date of january 6th of 2021. so where we are right now is that all the states have basically certified their votes

for donald trump or joe biden and they picked their electors who are meeting today to ultimately decide elector by elector, do they vote for joe biden or donald trump. todd: that january 6th date could be a day of fireworks because we obviously have the georgia senate runoff on the fifth and -- on the sixth. focusing on the electors for a second, do you anticipate any faceless electors, those who are told by a state how to vote but they vote another way? >> what a faithless elector is, early in 2020, a group of people, a slate of trump supporters and biden supporters for each state were selected. they pledged they would support either trump or biden, depending which side of the political aisle they were on. what a faithless elector is when given a chance to vote today, they wind up voting for someone other than who they pledged to support. now, because right now as it

stands if nothing changes, joe biden has over 300 electoral votes afte as of this moment, hg a handful of faithless electors vote for o someone who they said they wouldn't, won't change the outcome. it's possible to have a faithsless elector. whether it's legally allowed is a debateable point. because the election is so far apart, it's not the sort of thing that will turn a lot of heads or matter. todd: we will see. all eyes on today, all eyes on january 6th. it will be interesting. thanks so much. >> thank you. carley: still ahead, house intel republicans are demanding answers of eric swalwell's relationship with a suspected chinese spy. congressman rick crawford sits on the intel committee and says swalwell cannot be trusted. he joins us, coming up.

carley: welcome back. calls are growing for an investigation into democratic congressman eric swalwell and his ties to suspected chinese spy, christine fang. todd:.todd: we are joined withe of the questions for his colleague. congressman, thanks for being here. what do you want to know. >> thanks for having me. todd: what do you want to know, congressman? >> this goes back to 2014 and earlier, i believe eric swalwell was seated on the intelligence committee in '14. so i think would have been appropriate to disclose this then and probably a better decision could have been made about whether or not he should have been placed on the intelligence committee in the first place. at the very least, i think this is certainly grounds to be removed from the intelligence committee but it may be even grounds to consider his removal from the house because of the nature of this relationship and the nature of the chinese communist party. carley: a lot has been made about eric swalwell but let's talk about china for a second

and the fact that they are using spies to target young male politicians in our country. is there anything going to be done on a congressional level to prevent that from happening in the future? >> well, there certainly should be. of course, this is a topic of conversation in the intelligence committee but more broadly this is something that is being addressed by a china task force which leader mccarthy stood up, got no help or interest from the democrats by the way so leader mccarthy went forward with it and the china task force has been a pretty important part of the last couple of years with regard to congressional pushback against the chinese communist party and the tactics they use, not only on the intelligence side for spying but also some of the intellectual property theft, some of the other issues that accompany the chinese communist party and their presence here in the united states. todd: meantime, congressman, as you know, the first shipment of pfizer, biontech coronavirus vaccine leaving the michigan

facility. here's the projected time line of vaccine distribution. this month, healthcare personnel, long-term care facility, residents, potentially the white house staff. january through march, essential workers, non-healthcare and beyond march, high risk adults. are you confident that we meet that timeline without major glitches? >> well, i am. i think the operation warp speed has been a phenomenal success and who would have thought that we would have achieved this in the same calendar year. so that's pretty phenomenal. whether or not we see the distribution take place as it's projected, i think we have to assume that everything is in place and certainly there will be adequate oversight to make sure everything gets out. the states are integral. the states are the ones that administer the programs and they are the ones that will essentially triage if you will where these vacation nation as -- vaccinations go first and who gets it first. there's federal guidelines but
