what we know is it is more transmissible, 70% more transmissible, spread more easily from person to person. fortunately it is not found to be more lethal but if you have many more patients who are hospitalized even if they don't pass away from this you will put a strain on the hospital system and stretch the resources and put a strain on the doctors and nurses. it could be an issue in that sense. the vaccine is appearing to be effective against the virus and it is not found to be more lethal right now. was we need to do is continue wearing your mass, physical distancing and when it is your turn get your vaccine. todd: should we expect new strains like this to pop up between now and the time we get hurt immunity? >> good question, yes. viruses naturally mutate. that is their nature. we will see more mutations occur but the vaccines are still effective. it will take multiple multiple

mutations over time for us to have to have a new vaccine or make adjustments to the current vaccine which we can easily do with mrna technology. it is not new, we need to monitor it closely. jillian: 20 countries confirm the new covid-19 strain. these numbers are fascinating. let's pull them up on screen. talking about. numbers. there are 720 positive tests as of december 19th. compared to this time last year there were 31,350 reported. those numbers are a big difference. we were talking the commercial break. people are washing hands, wearing masks viruses are still transmitting because we are seeing the numbers of covid-19 cases. what is going on? is phenomenal. i think it is minimal to low. the entire nation was a

so i think both senator loeffler and perdue saying they will support him and support the president adhering himself to the president and to the voters here in georgia is probably the safest play. this whole fight has put a lot of republicans in a rock and hard place none as much as the two senators running for re-election right now. jillian: joey about 2.3 million people have cast their vote in georgia. who does that favor? when you talk about voting early liver in november's election that favored the democrats. republicans were hoping that, you know, in person voters were goingoing to turn out on electin day. what is your sense of what is happening in georgia as far as early voting and then what will happen next week? >> you know, it's really difficult for me. i have to be completely honest. i didn't think joe biden could win georgia. i know there is a lot of allegations of election fraud and certainly some things that don't make a lot of sense. i also know stacey abrams signed up and registered and got to vote hundreds of new voter in georgia. i don't think there is any

effort comparable on the g.o.p. side. so perhaps that's just the way things are. i don't think more georgians support democrat policies but perhaps more democrats showed up to vote. run off where tamp tamp inens te to show up against him. i don't think people were excited to vote for joe biden. i'm not happy with any of these four candidates to be honest with you. it feels i said the other at a georgians want to choose between it if chick fillet and saxbys perhaps we are getting mcdonald's and ruth chris. buck head of atlanta vs. downtown atlanta. it doesn't feel like the rest of this beautiful unique state from the appalachian to the coast is really being represented at all. obviously i wanted doug collins to get this opportunity. he is not there. i'm not sure that we have candidates this cycle that are exciting for georgiaens. jillian: to be fair, republicans need this. if they lose out on these two

seats then the democrats control a whole heck of a lot. >> well, that's fair but it just may not be relates. i don't know how many people are sitting here excited to vote for the two g.o.p. candidates and likewise, you know, i think jon ossoff is about exciting as stale bread. i don't know how he ever wins an election to be honest with you. voter turnout is going to be high because the entire country is looking at georgia. but i can tell you most georgians are excited to get this over with and get all this what we consider foreperson interference out of our state. we are tired of the chatter money and people and ready to be georgia again. are. todd: brutally honest perspective. there is a elle are aing cry that georgia is really the last line of defense against this democrat socialism, this radical socialist agenda. as somebody who lost his legs fighting for democracy. quite frankly fighting for our capitalist way of life. what message do you have for your fell will he georgians? >> well, i appreciate that

distinction. if this country chose a socialist path we would do it through a democratic manner and be forced to figure that out. i don't think that's what most americans want. i fought for freedom of this country freedom to choose and self-determination. capitalism favors that by and large tremendously. capitalism is there is a ladder top rung and bottom rung. hard work atlantic and opportunity decide where you are. that's as american as apple pie. that's what we fought for and i think what this country still want. look at all the small business owners that might have been liberal or progressive and starting to put those ideas aside and say wait, just a minute how could the government shut my business down and take food off the table. i think it's opened a lot of eyes. i don't think i don't know if it's pushed back against the most democratic wing of the party. president trump has been on to something and g.o.p. picks that man tell up. i hope georgia is a representation of that. jillian: strong words there joey jones, will happy new year.
