6:06 am
from democrats and a heavy rush to rush things through, so this remains a really important election and i think president trump speaking on monday and what he will or won't say is going to impact how many people actually choose to show up on election day which republicans are relying on pretty heavily. with that being said there is another big story we've been following and that is covid-19 and the vaccine that has started to come out people are now getting inoculated in several states but there are some reports that are concerning some , and this is from the la times an estimated 50% of frontline workers in riverside county, california, opted against the vaccine. so you're seeing a lot of health care workers you're seeing a lot of people in various independence that are going to come out and we don't know the why of this and pete, you mentioned earlier, we don't know if these people already had covid-19, if they have antibod ies, we don't have answers answers to those questions but regardless you'll see people who have a different view about medicine that say well i'll give it six months and regardless of what industry they're in they are going to make that choice for themselves at least for now there's no mandate in place and
6:07 am
regardless there are many in the medical community that find that alarming because remember if you're a frontline worker dealing with a lot of patients in one day the ability to transmit that to someone o from someone to another person can be hi. dr. mark siegel weighed in on all of that earlier. listen to what he had to say. >> 20-40% of healthcare workers in la county are placed where they got tents lined up because the hospitals are so overwhelmed why would healthcare, woulders not be taking the vaccine over 200,000 healthcare workers have actually gotten sick from covid-19 and we need to send a message to the american public. this vaccine is safe. it works. you take it next, when more and more comes out. i just think there's a lot of vaccine hesitancy in the country one of the roles we can play as healthcare workers in a brand new vaccine is showing other people that it's safe. pete: i don't know what the answer to this is, as to the why. i think a portion i was with two nurses just a couple days ago with my son, one of which was waiting to get the vaccine and the other which had covid about
