3:04 am
has done over the last four years. listen to this. >> this is every single thing we fought for the last four years, president trump standing in the fire himself. that is what is up for grabs this time. trump has made it possible for this country to have the most inclusive economy in my lifetime. he made it possible that we have the more conservative judiciary of all time. frankly we owe it to our past four years and the future that we win the socialist nightmare comes wednesday morning if we lose. the great opportunity society continues throughout 2021 if we win. it is that black and white. jedediah: yeah i think he is correct in that. this will be a lot of undoing, there will be a lot of doing of their own when it comes to policy, whether talking about climate. whether talking about health care, whatever those big ticket issues may be that democrats are
3:05 am
expecting leadership in the house and potentially in the senate to carry through. i do think it is really interesting though also that this race is so close. i mean warnock and ossoff are not moderates by any stretch of the imagination. their agendas are pretty radical in terms of policy. so the fact that it is close at all i think it is indicative after shift in georgia. if they do in fact win, i think that will say a lot not only the state of georgia but potentially where many pieces of the country stand on a lot of these big ticket issues. pete: will i look forward to joining you absent the cold when i get there tomorrow an tomorrow night. he was texting before the show. it is freezing there. this is a split screen week. this is important set of races in georgia. a day after a growing number of republicans not just in the house but in the senate will object to the certification results on the presidential

election that is the next day, january 6th. noon today, washington, d.c., house democrats will convene to elect a new speaker. by house rules they can't do anything else before a speaker is elected. it is an interesting moment because nancy pelosi is clinging to a razor thin majority. if you look at numbers we'll break down in a moment it is not clear which way that race is going to go. first, here is michael hardway former house democrat talking about nancy pelosi's prospects. i think this will be her toughest test yet. she had tests before. progressives and moderates. it will be tough for anyone to get anything done but if anyone can do it it is nancy pelosi. both parties can nominate someone to be speaker. nancy pelosi on the republican side with all 211 votes line him
