us. i as gut tells him from past experience, he could be. these clowns spent four years trying everything under the sun including the sun to oust him, which means fraud is on the table. he is hitler after all. some of the stuff that trump mentioned has been debunked, but his curiosity as to why leads aren't followed is based on the obvious fact that they had an overzealous scornful establishment would do anything to beat them and that if you have the courage to defend him. so we have to do it all himself. so that's what you hear from the call if you listen to it and that's with the media hid from you. they chose select words to shape a lie that makes him even less trustworthy than before. that's even possible. he when i have been in the news business a long time going back 40, 50 years.

i love this story because it follows this well-worn dirt track that we've seen now for about four years. they pull out a tiny piece of x, the outrage to explode, then they have to go back and see what he said and then realize he didn't threaten anybody. he doesn't sound like a mob boss, he sounds like you when you're complaining about a delayed flight. >> bret: here's the deal. i agree that some of those comments were clearly taken out of context, but i listen to the whole called, and i think that there are points there that the president does not sound great and there a lot of our republicans sitting there saying they don't think this call help their cause. number one, you made a statement there that a number of the facts that he talks about in that call have been debunked. not a number of them, we had the secretary of state's office this afternoon when it came to georgia going point by point

refuting each one of those things. so there is a battle within the republican party, and how it plays out really is the most important thing for tuesday because there's a lot of republicans here i think that are just angry, and the question is are they going to show up in the senate runoff? >> greg: here's the deal. it was truly as bad as what brett said, why did they have to lie about it and say he was threatening people? my theory is they didn't actually listen to the entire audio. >> dana: when it first was released, you had that three and a half minute clip of the audio, and then about an hour later is when the hour-long one came out. i also listen to the entire thing. first of all, i do think we need a new barometer of scandal because at this point, watergate is meaningless. i laughed when i saw carl bernstein say this one, this one is definitely worse than watergate but he has said it before and he means it, this one a for sure. i think it was senator marsha blackburn who said this was not helpful but i think when it

comes to the voting tomorrow, if republicans are laser focused on these votes for tomorrow, i still think republicans pull it out in both races may be by a whisker. i don't think this will necessarily will hurt them but the other thing the media didn't provide in the context is at this point, there is nothing that the secretary of state of georgia can do about any of th this. they had to count, then the recount, and then another recount. the electors have been selected, the electoral college has voted, there is nothing legally that the secretary of state can do. so it's an hour long phone call, it's kind of uncomfortable to listen to when i'm sure if you're on the other end of it, feeling like the president is putting pressure on you. it's also a legal call. i'm not surprised that they taped it, but at this point, january 4th of 2021 and nothing surprises me. >> greg: i think the media's going to mr. trump in these

worse than watergate stories. the media and the establishment hadn't showed their hand, they need to brazenly destroy trump, then he wouldn't have an argument but the fact that look at you've been doing for four years, for some going to question it and i don't understand why you guys are doing a better job of questioning yourself. seems like a logical argument. >> juan: i think fox news and everyone has done a good job of looking at these claims and found them to be meritless. >> greg: only half of them. >> juan: i ask everybody out there in the audience to do themselves a favor, go listen to it themselves. i think they can draw their own conclusion and i think what they'll hear is that a president of the united states is threatening an election official asking him to find 11,000. he says -- let me finish. i will. can i finish, greg?

he said your failure to come up with this evidence, that may be criminal that you're not looking at it more deeply and you hear him say that's not true, mr. president. you can hear his own lawyer say mr. president, on many occasions, that's not true, mr. president. so what you get is a piece of evidence going after the foundations of our democracy for people to choose their leaders and i think it's pretty terrible and what you get is the president, this is on tape in his own words. it's not like you say it's the media, is the establishment, it's the democrats. this is president trump in an authoritarian mode that is quite threatening and upsetting. that's why you are hearing so many republicans say this is a threat to who we are. dick cheney -- go he is golfing.

or hunting. sometimes it's friends. so jesse, last call to you. i listen to the phone call, what is going on with everyone? >> jesse: it's another perfect phone call. what can i tell you? in another way, it is very similar to the ukraine call in the sense that the president was zeroing in on democrat corruption and they just decided to accuse him of the very crime that they committed. so the whole basis of the call was in georgia law, if you can find the number of invalid votes that's over the margin of victory around 11,000, you redo the election. so trump at a team of forensic accountants went through all of the publicly available information, the postal service addresses, the voter registrations, and they found at least 25,000 invalid votes.

people registering at po boxes and vacant lots, felons voting, dead people voting, people had moved from out-of-state and still voted, votes that were tabulated when there was no monitors which is again georgia state law. so all he's saying is i'm not asking you to find 11,000 votes, a.k.a. cheat. i'm saying formally recognize that they were over 11,000 illegally cast votes and that should trigger a redo. he's asking the georgia republicans, secretary of state to compare notes. i'll show you what we found, you show us what you found. but they're not comparing notes. the republican georgia secretary of state is basically saying we investigated ourselves and we determined that we are clean. you want to see our investigative reports? no, sorry, i'm not going to show those to you. the republican secretary of state who is hiding evidence

records secretly a presidential phone call and then leaks it "the washington post," a paper that's trying to destroy the republican party, that's the story. so if you're a republican being praised by the mainstream media, you've done damage to the republican party. "the washington post" took this call and instead of investigating this claim that trump was making, instead of asking the secretary of state to prove that these claims were false instead of saying their false, they decided to falsely fabricate a headline to make trump look sinister while the entirety of the hour-long call is him seeking the truth. and that's the truth. >> greg: there you go. we've got to move on. president trump heading to georgia for a big rally tonight on the eve of two critical senate runoffs. cell phone repair.

that what they have in their control is going very well. the voter contacts out there. let me give you an example. in the trump campaign, had 3,000 field staffers spread out across the country for that campaign for the general election. since november 3rd, the republicans have had 1,000 field staffers just in georgia since november 3rd. they are making all of those voter contacts. i made the point before that 24,500 republican voters voted in the primary in 2020. they did not vote in the general election. the republicans knew exactly who they needed to target. so far, we've had 3.1 million people turn out the vote in this runoff, compared to the general election at 4 million. i feel like the republican's closing argument stronger than the democrats which really hasn't changed that much so the on the ground out working the democrats i think the republicans will win both of

these seats, but only by a whisker. >> jesse: a whisker. we know how slim a whisker can be. do you agree with dana perino or do you think the democrats sweep those two seats? >> juan: i don't know what to say. to my mind, the track record is if you are in georgia and talking politics, you're talking red state politics, jesse, so i would guess the odds favor republicans. obviously, joe biden won in november, so you're going to say look at that. to my mind, that was an upset that joe biden was able to win in georgia and it was an upset to many people and so now as you go into this race, the question is what happens without donald trump on the ballot while a lot of people who are loyal to trump say it doesn't help it over the weekend, trump is out there tweeting that this campaign, this election is invalid and illegal, a quote

from donald trump's twitter feed, so when he goes there, i don't know what he's going to do to say to people i don't really care about this election, it's illegal and invalid the go-ahead and vote. seems like he really doesn't care about this election or what happens to republicans once he's gone. >> jesse: what's your sense of what tonight's rally with the president is going to be like? >> bret: i think for republicans, it has to be about getting out the vote especially in georgia where he's going, that's where they need to see the numbers. it's tough to get a gauge, dana is right, traditionally in a nonpresidential election, republicans would roll. it's a different scenario now. i just went to a john assad rally come about 100 people in a parking lot. it's a different campaigning scenario, everybody is massed so you can't get a gauge from that. but democrats do feel some momentum in part because they sense the g.o.p. is splintering

over this issue of the election and we will see you if that's case or not. >> jesse: how high are these stakes? >> greg: they are so high am getting a secondary high from them. here's what donald trump should say. tonight. the democrats win these seats, this is far worse than watergate. here's what the left already controls. they control the media, they control academia, they control entertainment, so they have the whole culture happy meal in their hands. you hand them over all the government levers, there are no breaks in this car anymore, you get both of those candidates in, they control everything including the so-called centrists who are so pliable he makes silly putty look like cement, so you need to have at least one republican to win or else this country is only going to survive with divided government. you can't let them take over.

won by one vote. she had five democrats vote for other people. there was nobody else running against her. kevin mccarthy was a house minority leader didn't lose a single vote, he got all of the votes, and what we saw was basically what mccarthy talked about their am i was that the republican caucus is stronger after the election. they didn't lose a single incumbent, they have more seats now, just four votes away from altering legislation on the floor, so nancy pelosi has to tiptoe through the tulips when it comes to legislation dealing with the left and the center of her party. >> juan: what does it say that the democrats don't seem to be in such disarray have every member of the squad voted for nancy pelosi? >> greg: that's a great point. americans have witnessed the ultimate depravity in politics. here's a person who freely admits she denied aid to

millions for political gain, the outcome was more suffering for two months in a deal that was cut in half and yet she still won. that's pretty amazing that she thinks they still voted for her. was it trump who said he could shoot someone on fifth avenue and get away with it. we just learned that pelosi can let millions effort to preserve her power and get away with it. this is another loss of political innocence for people and it makes you want to just remove yourself from the entire process and actually decide this isn't my government, i think for four years after hearing not my president, i think it rubs off on me because when i look at this, i think to myself this is not my government, but i have come up with a new product, the pelosi shield, a glass partition that allows you to do what other people can't do but only works if your nancy pelosi and if you buy two shields, you get a free pint of gelato.

>> juan: we like ice cream, that's what the favorite is. dana, we talk about parties and civil war, parties in disarray, but it seems to me the party that can decide who won the election at the moment is the g.o.p. >> dana: i think kevin mccarthy has a lot to be proud of. not a single republican incumbent lost and if you look at the freshman class, it is a new generation of republicans that have come to congress, younger, much more diverse, won hard fought races because of the slim margin in the way that midterm elections usually go for a president that you were looking at kevin mccarthy possibly being the next speaker. what i thought was quite egregious is to see how many democrats that have been exposed to covid and have not tested negative return to the chamber in order to vote for her because it was that close.

and empty times square to ring in the new year. i know you're a big fan, let's start with you. thoughts on that? >> greg: he is such an awful human being that i can't even think of anything bad to say about cuomo. in it sucked all of that over to him. how does one explain his behavior? he is dancing while there was a mad man on a fold on a rampage through new york city beating people with a wooden pole, injured ten people, he was mentally ill. so who is in charge of the mentally ill? his dance partner is. she got something like 800 million to oversee that mentally ill. it's only gotten worse in new york city. people are leaving because the streets are unsafe. so i think she's getting away with something by being married to him on the other thing too is when we see people suffering, he sees opportunity. he's always look that up evil as a road to progressive ideals like where you see pain, he sees

disruption so none of this stuff is bothering him which is why he can just keep on dancing while everybody's weeping. >> bret: the covid vaccine, the story line has been where's the federal plan, but in governor cuomo's case, he is blaming hospitals and what about that story? >> dana: so where does the buck stopped? they liked us talk about state sovereignty and we should, the states are the ones that are responsible for carrying out disaster aid for example when fema gives grants that goes to the governor, the governor then makes the decisions on where that aid is going to go. i think that this is a great example of not just in new york but also in d.c. today were 64% of the available appointments were on the field for vaccine distribution today. i believe that the free market needs to get a handle on this, the private sector needs to get involved. you think for one second that any of these companies were in charge of this that this

would've happened? i know. some sort of public-private partnership needs to happen so people can get vaccinated as quickly as possible, get people back to work and school and enjoying life again. >> bret: clearly, there is an issue, wanda. >> juan: to me, it's not about local officials. to me, it's about the lack of federal leadership of here's a strategy and here's how we want it done and if you're a local official, you're really saying we don't have the money to put in place a plan so you see the governor of new york pointing to the hospitals, the hospitals are saying we are at capacity, we have so many issues to deal with, why are you picking on us? but it's just like trump didn't want testing and said it made him look bad, hurt his election chances, and we never got a real regime for how it should be best done in this country. we still suffer from that. >> bret: jesse, last word. >> jesse: bill de blasio has no shame and he has no rhythm

and instead of writing a book about covid, maybe cuomo should have been writing a vaccine distribution plan. is the federal government's job to get people to shots, and it's the governor's job to get the shots in people's arms. all of the counties in the state of new new york and has still not signed off on them. the governor froze. the governor choked, and now is choking off all of these vaccines to get them out to these counties. right now, there should be a vaccination spot in every single zip code in this state. they should have brought up the guard, they should have brought up the medical reserve, they should have had volunteers out here. they keep saying this is war, so act like it's war. there should be done 24/7, not just monday through friday, nine to five. down in the sunshine state, you can drive up, roll your window
