moved to initiate the impeachment proceedings. what does this say to you? >> that we are a very divided chamber, both chambers, the senate and house between republicans and democrats but also within our own conference. you will see a dozen or so republicans will vote to impeach later today. todd: this is what nancy pelosi had to say. >> the president of the united states incited a deadly insurrection against america targeting the heart of our democracy. removing the president is an unprecedented moment because of the danger he poses. todd: there are so many questions surrounding this impeachment. how do you see this playing out in the house and the senate? you hear that talk about mitch mcconnell. how do you think this plays out? >> i was one of the most vocal members of congress last week

the call on the president when the silence transpired. i've taken members of my own party to task on this issue because rhetoric does have real consequences. the house does have every right to impeach the president but we debate on the floor of the house an hour or two, isn't right or legal way to do that because every american deserves due process. the same reasons i voted certify the electoral college because my guiding principle being the constitution will be the same guiding principle, very important that we don't just take the zipoh light of the constitution and tear everything up. jillian: number one, get your take on big tech and censorship going on a removal of the president's platforms, number 2, there's a lot happening on these platforms. someone on social media

threatened to harm you. what is your take on this? >> someone threatened to shoot me in the days leading up to this a vote. one of the reasons i got a concealed carry permit. after november 3rd the online rhetoric started to ratchet up. i do believe our words have real consequences. it is of grave concern. with regard to twitter and banning the president and others for that language, the chinese government or the ayatollah for the supreme leader of iran who are calling for genocide to their own people chanting death to america, attacks on american citizens, they are a private company with a right to have rules and standards but they should apply equally particularly -- todd: i believe the congresswoman may have her shot frozen there. she was giving such a great answer, so insightful and becoming one of those go to

52 homicides up 35 in 2019. how does the city respond? they cut police funding by 18% in the seattle city budget. do you fear this year will be worse? >> we are looking at the report card for the defund the police movement and is a gigantic half. right now those numbers are lower than the fbi has, double the amount of homicides as last year. we approach the 2020 numbers, we hid them during the height of the unrest, the majority are young black men, that is the tragic part, they say they are advocating for black lives in the majority of them were killed are young black men including two black teenagers killed in the autonomous zone. todd: how do proponents of the funding police, cutting police budgets justify themselves with what you just said?

jillian: joe biden will unveil his plan for the coronavirus plans this week which medical contributor doctor marty mc harry says the biden team is feeling the pressure and joins me live. thanks for being here. we will pull up the vaccinations. here are the numbers, the numbers don't lie. 27 million doses distributed, little more than 9 million doses received in the biden administration has a goal of 100 million in the first 100 days. is it obtainable? >> there's a lot of discussion in the biden transition team as to the goalsetting number should be. biden has been asked how he will speed up the distribution and rollout and he said he would use the defense production act and what he's learning right now is it is not a production problem. it is a distribution problem.

to january 6th. there's been no proceedings in the house, when the president has been able to bring his lawyers into the house of representatives, stating his case for why this impeachment proceeding should go forward. there have been no hearings, no ability for him to defend himself. we would never allow anybody in the united states to be convicted without a trial without an opportunity to defend themselves. five republicans to go along and agree with this is wrong for the party, wrong for the nation. todd: will republicans set aside their split and come together on policy in the weeks and months to come? >> i hope we can. you have to step back with something like this. impeachment is a serious proceeding. democrats have turned into a political proceeding but this is a serious one for the nation and we have to be careful not to

just use it because emotions are high in the capital. one thing i would like to add. and members of congress, myself and members of the senate we are all jury members right now. what happened in the capital last week was a tragedy but we were all subject to that. we need to take a step back and have cooler heads if this is the way the house of representatives and the senate might go. we would never be allowed to sit on a jury because we were actually being victimized in the process. that is why this entire proceeding is wrong, the president has not had an opportunity to defend himself and that is wrong as well. jillian: i'm not going to argue that point. the public would ask if not you, then who? you are our elected officials to get the work done. >> it is a broader point, the president leaves office in eight days, 7 days now. the president agrees with peaceful transition of power. he has conceded the election. what is best is we move on as a
