donors to sign with the democrats on the issue like this. like thomas closets, a retired army brigadier general who told "fortune" magazine he's really d about the enemy within. saying we are probably talking about thousands across the department of defense. many of them will have already run their mouths, put things on social media. now, people like him will claim that it's fine for defense personnel to have strong political views that are conservative, but in practice we already know how this is going to play out. look at how fast of the national guard moved against its own rank after the capitol riots. apparently vetting more than 25,000 national guardsmen removing one dozen or so from inaugural duty, on dubious grounds by the way. posting on facebook i do know standing for the national anthem and football games and the next thing you know you could be labeled a white nationalist. text a friend about how you

only if you take the fifth amendment and refuse to answer the truthful answer can you draw a negative inference. but he hasn't been subpoenaed and he hasn't believed that the senate has jurisdiction over a former president and he's right about that. he believes they have no jurisdiction over a constitutionally protected speech and he's right about that. he's right not to testify, you can't draw any negative inference. this is political theater and the reason i'm not a lawyer in this cases i'm neither an actor or a politician. it is just showboating. they wrote the letter in order to get the president to say no, which they knew he would do, and then to be able to say see, he wouldn't testify so he must be hiding something. he did the right thing by not testifying, he wants to defend themselves on solely jurisdiction grounds. they said only a sitting
