>> tucker: not only the most vicious political group ever but definitely the creepiest, w we can report they are done an they can stop accepting donations. they are history now. sean hannity takes over next >> if you probably want to stay if you want to hang out, -- welcome to hannity. tonight we are tracking multiple . the developing stories. we will bring you the new details surrounding the lincoln project scandal. this story keeps getting worse and worse by the day. a smoking gun email has just revealed showing james comey new hillary clinton's dirty russian disinformation dossier was unverified, yet he signed three fisa applications, now we are certain he signed up on knowing it is not verifiable. john durham, where are you?
10:01 pm
also tonight, new york governor cuomo now facing widespread condemnation from both sides of the aisle, but will he be held responsible for his covid nursing home death cover-up? we have a full report straight ahead and also later, very latest run down on the biden administration's radical far left agenda including now coming for your second amendment as we warned you. donald trump jr. will be joining us tonight, dan bongino will be here, but first, this weekend in what could be the least shocking development we told you all last week was predetermined the outcome, the former president donald trump was officially acquitted. take a look. >> the senate having tried donald john trump up one article of impeachment exhibited against him by the house of representatives, two-thirds of the senators present not having found him guilty of the charge contained therein is therefore ordered and adjudged that
10:02 pm
donald j. trump is hereby acquitted for the charge in said article. >> sean: let's make one thing clear, other republicans have turned their backs on the former president are way out of touch with the base of their own party. record 75 million americans turned out for donald trump in november and they support him to this very day. take a look right there, see that video, see what's on your screen? a few hours ago spontaneously thousands of people in palm beach lined up in support of the former president as his motorcade traveled through florida. i have a question mitch mcconnell, john thune, how come you never had this kind of enthusiasm at any of your events? take a look. >> usa! usa! usa! usa! usa!
10:03 pm
usa! usa! usa! usa! usa! usa! >> sean: voters in this country are smart, not stupid. we can see the snap impeachment was nothing but political theater, no due process, no evidence, no defense, none of it and now finding out it was all preplanned ahead of time and another needless smear that accomplished nothing. it's been five years of this. they've also had it with republicans and democratic swamp creatures, and this is the question the republicans are now going to have to ask themselves tonight. where was john thune and mitch mcconnell fighting against the biggest abuse of power and corruption scandal in our history with operation crossfire hurricane? they were missing in action.
10:04 pm
where is the sanctimonious mitch mcconnell, john thune demanding that kamala harris, chuck schumer, nancy pelosi, maxine waters, when is he going to give a speech on the senate floor and hold those democrats accountable for their incitement of insurrection and they are insurrection like language? the time is now coming for new leadership in the u.s. senate. will be dealing with that. we will have a lot more in the days to come. there is important work that does need to be done. it's urgent. this was all put on hold because of this political latest show trial in this case first and foremost, what happened on the 6th of january can never happen again. our capital was attacked elected lawmakers in both parties will put in harm's way. that can't ever happen again. all those that broke the law must be held responsible and we need a full investigation into what went wrong. the security was breached within minutes, the capitol police were
10:05 pm
overwhelmed prior to the breach the capital police chief requested the national guard and their assistance six separate times, every plea of his was rejected. the president was very vocal about offering his security assistance leading up to january 6th and even ordered 10,000 national guard troops to be on standby and be ready, but they were not called on until it was too late. why did this happen? they knew a massive crowd of hundreds of thousands of people, they knew days before they were descending on washington, they knew the night before they were there, they knew this was an important day in the halls of congress, they knew the vice president and all our elected officials would be inside the capitol building. they knew that violent individuals we now know were plotting and planning and scheming. they were warned the fbi knew about the plots, the planning
10:06 pm
the scheming, as did other law enforcement agencies. even congresswoman alexandria ocasio-cortez claimed she was warned of the attack ahead of time. the person ultimately responsible for security in the house would be nancy pelosi. the sergeant of arms answers to her but instead of getting to the bottom of this massive security failure, no, the speaker just rushed through yet another snap impeachment, no due process, no presumption of innocence, no defense, having a no facts and no investigation and recently, she didn't even want to answer questions about this massive post-9/11 security failure she called a waste of time. take a look. >> as far as the impeachment trial is concerned senator graham said that if the democrats call any witness that they will be prepared to call in the fbi and "tell us about people who planned this attack and what happened with the security footprint at the capitol. what's your response to that? >> your question is a waste of
10:07 pm
time. >> sean: protecting our institutions and protecting elected officials from both sides of the aisle is not a waste of time and now that the impeachment charade is over having never investigated a thing, pelosi is now finally ordering a full-scale investigation. i'm sure it will focus only on donald trump. the reason for the delay is obvious, nancy pelosi knew any serious investigation would clear president trump and there is a mountain of evidence that all of this was preplanned and the multiple serious warnings were missed or ignored, it can't happen. clearly january 6th, those remarks could not have incited insurrection if the attack was organized well before january 6th, which we now know from court documents, the fbi and so many others. so the political schiff show charade is out of the way
10:08 pm
pelosi can finally get on with the business of protecting every elected official and our house the people's house. make no mistake, this is swamp sewer politics at its worst. even republicans like mitch mcconnell and others meanwhile this failed snap impeachment also sets a dangerous new precedent. donald trump can be impeached for political speech where he urged supporters to fight like. there's a ten minute montage during the trial, david schoen will show us, aired out for all of us to see in many of you will now peacefully so your voices will be heard senator lindsey graham explained, now pandora's box has been wide open. let's see if republicans will hold democrats to the new standard. take a look. >> we've opened pandora's box to future presidents and if you use this model, i don't know how kamala harris doesn't get
10:09 pm
impeached if the republicans take over the house because she actually bailed out rioters and they went back to the streets and broke somebody's head open. so we've opened pandora's box and i'm sad for the country. >> sean: so are they now going to use the same standard that was used against donald trump on inciting insurrection? there's a long and growing list of democrats who should now qualify for impeachment and impeachment trial, you can start with kamala harris chuck schumer, joe biden, and work your way through the list but of course swamp creatures the media mob will likely never hold democrats to the same standard they held donald trump two. pretty much the history of the last five years. last week, too busy breathlessly cheering on house impeachment managers and it was all nauseating and nobody in this country is better off because of it. meanwhile, the media had no shortage of complaints about the president's legal team and they
10:10 pm
delivered an epic beat down with an excellent defense that was put together in about eight days. over the weekend, one of the president's attorneys dealing with the cbs anchor voiced his frustration with the mob during an interview on that network. take a look. >> the media has to start telling the right story in this country. the media is trying to divide this country. you are bloodthirsty for ratings and as such, you're asking questions now that are already set up with a fact pattern. that's the problem, the media has to start living by the truth. and not try to create a narrative. >> michael vanderveen, thank you for joining us. i do appreciate. okay. i see you taking off your microphone now. >> sean: he did. imagine having almost every news outlet in the country rooting against you, every tv show
10:11 pm
every article, every headline, every pundit every second, every minute, every hour of every day. that's what this country has lived through, donald trump at his family have lived through the last five years and that is what the president's lawyers faced over the last few weeks and this is what president trump again faced for five years. journalism in this country is dead and buried. we are in the middle of an information crisis in this country and the media is not coming back to life anytime soon. joining us now with reaction, to members of the president's legal team, michael vanderveen and bruce castor are with us. thank you both for being with us. first, let me talk with you about that exchange because you were right, 100% right because the issue was based on they might have altered evidence in some way. rules of evidence in the courtroom were applied to this case, would pat lahey have presided, would any of the
10:12 pm
evidence the house managers brought forward, the edited sliced and diced tapes, would any of it had been admissible in a court of law? >> no, it wouldn't have. what we did down in washington was nothing like a trial we normally go through in there was no due process of any kind, no fair exchange of any information of any kind, and there was suspect treatment of the evidence that as being presented. > sean: bruce scanner, i learned since the first day what the circumstances were and i was critical of you on this show and my radio show and it turns out i was wrong, you didn't even expect to speak, certain things have happened that led up to you feeling the need to kind of calm the waters after the house managers had said and done things that you thought were over-the-top, so i was wrong and had i known the context, i
10:13 pm
wouldn't have made those remarks, so i apologize for that. tell us what was going on. >> actually, we'd prefer that mike do that because he is more articulate about it than i am. i'm still pretty frosted about what happened, and if i may, when the trial started, the first two hours at the house impeachment managers put on their case, they had a lot of hollywood produced type audio and video, and then injected personal loss tragedy and emotion into it. when we left the chamber after the presentation on the break, you could really feel the heat in the room. it was hard to breathe, there was a lot of emotion in the room and bruce called audible on the brakes saying the two hours of jurisdiction was pretty dry and i'm going to go in and the jurisdiction guy caught it back to an hour and a half, going to go in for 30 and cool the
10:14 pm
temperature down in the room. the tempo may not have been on 100%, the rhythm wasn't there because it was unexpected he accomplished what they needed to do, cool the temperature down and put the defense forward. the media slammed them all for days after that not having any understanding of what they need to do. trial and adjust. >> sean: you had eight days to prepare for one of the biggest cases you'd ever do in your career, both very successful. bruce cantor, i understand your home was vandalized, also michael vanderveen, your home was vandalized, the word traitor was spray-painted in red on your driveway. what happened to you? bruce castor, sorry. >> there were plenty of internet
10:15 pm
trolls and the blog sphere and the twitter universe really rattled on my wife and of course the emails on the constant electronic intrusions. the local police and county detectives where i live and in fact the state attorney general's office all sent people to look after our house while i was away and my wife was in it alone and of course my wife is a pretty tough lady and able to look after herself but what happened to michael is outrageous and there is no greater patriot in this country than michael vanderveen and to be called a traitor is downright outrageous. >> sean: it has to be unsettling that the word traitor literally spray-painted in red on your driveway. welcome to the world of being a conservative talk show host. >> i would imagine. i'll tell you, i'm not a
10:16 pm
conservative talk show host, i'm a trial lawyer, and we were hired to put on a defense. in eight days, we did a fantastic job, we focused on the tasks in front of us, knock them out and really put together a solid defense. our defense was rooted in the constitution. we looked at this as defending the constitution, the first amendment, due process and the fifth amendment, the sixth amendment was all in play here and we had strong constitutional defenses, they couldn't rise to meet them, and we won the case. >> our opponents were just flat-out dishonest with the creation of evidence, but what happened at the beginning of the case was based on dishonesty. we had an order from the united states senate saying the first two hours of argument around the issue of jurisdiction. we had prepared a scholarly piece on jurisdiction.
10:17 pm
the house managers ignore the instructions from the senate and went down this emotional tirade about a dead child in another child in all of these things that had put us in an awful position and we were unable to use our prepared response, the only thing that was available where my notes for the opening where i was to give the following day which i hadn't typed up yet that i had to utilize out of place in order to bring the temperature down. i didn't want us to be so far behind by the time we got to our case that we couldn't catch up and as you saw after they put on 14 hours of nonsense, we completely eviscerated and destroy their case. >> sean: if the democrats applied the same standards for themselves, then they would all be impeached, all the people that you showed in the videos that you ran, eight days of preparation, won the case congratulations to both of you and thank you.
10:18 pm
>> it's interesting, but our position was, and it's right that what we show the democrats saying, we didn't show they were using the same words as mr. trump to say it's to balance his words. all of these words are protected. robust speech between our politicians is protected in this country because we need them to speak robustly. their dialogue, their discussion is about how they're going to govern our lives, our society individual and collective citizens. their speech is protected but what we are saying to everybody as you need to cool the speech down, need to come together and have clearer dialogue about the problems that face this country the real problems, the pandemic the economy, social, racial, and economic equality, education infrastructure. there's so much for these folks in washington to focus on, to
10:19 pm
come in the middle and meet and focus on it, but it's broken down. it's broken in washington and these two sides are having difficulty getting over their ideology and focusing on what this country needs. >> we wanted to show the absolute hypocrisy on the other side and until that's shown, the sides can never get back together. >> sean: michael vanderveen bruce castor, thank you so much for being with us. congratulations, thank you. here with more reaction is donald trump jr. i thought the tapes they put together were a devastating -- it was an evisceration even, and if you did apply the same standards that they applied to your father, don, jr., all of them would be impeached and all of them would be put on trial. but i don't expect republican leadership to hold democrats accountable to that standard.
10:20 pm
>> republican leadership will do nothing because that's what they do best, nothing. the reality is this, if this was in a kangaroo court, you'd have the republicans clamoring to go after the supposed prosecution for literally manufacturing evidence. imagine any prosecutor in america was caught manufacturing evidence against a witness, that would be a jailable offense. they would be disbarred, thrown out of their positions impeached. that's what should happen here. when there is manufacturing fake blue checkmarks, all of these things for effect because they know they have a media that will cover and run with everything they say regardless of how ridiculous it is, they are used to being able to get away with it and more importantly, used to republicans who don't have the guts to actually ever push back. they sit there and take it when it happens to a republican, when it happens to a democrat, the democrats feel outraged, they go full crazy and they get whatever they want each and every time on that's why this is donald trump's party.
10:21 pm
he has taught republicans and conservatives they don't need to be steamrolled, that they can push back, they don't just have to roll over and die because the other side would like them too. that's the difference between donald trump and republican leadership for the last few decades which has done nothing but concede ground to the radical left. >> sean: your dad was out playing golf today and he did release a statement, he's been quiet. obviously, he's been canceled on twitter run run these other social platforms, but also obviously by design because he would be able to speak if he wants and i think for the time being, it's a pretty smart thing to do. did you see thousands of people out of nowhere, nobody organized it that i could see and certainly nobody associated with your father that i know of, do you? >> no. this is totally organic and again, it just shows you that the american people are with donald trump. those millions of people -- i saw it all day.
