he advocates for policies that it end up disadvantaging the black community like we are seeing today. he has been a politician for 48 years. literally longer than you and i have been alive. is he doing the same old react. he gets away with it every time. but, even right now he is paying a lot of lip service to equity. you hear him saying that a lot right now. here's the thing. you let me know when he actually delivers the policy that helps strengthen black businesses. promotes the black family. until then it's all lip service. jillian: to counter that, i guess i would question and i would say, he is not a stranger to politics, right? i mean, people know what president biden is about. so why did that make people vote for him then in the black community? >> well, look, i mean, if you look even back historically, joe biden, he does have inroads there. i mean, throughout his career, he has a lot of politicians that have helped boost him and drag him across the finish line.

that's been the story of joe biden's career. people dragging him across the finish line. so here he is now. he is our president. and, look, it's action time. and so i think it's time for the community to apply pressure to make sure that he actually delivers on what he says but i baited breath. todd: you have to give a lot of credit to jim clyburn he rescued him completely in the beginning of 2020. with that, sir, you have a new op-ed out black history vs. cancel culture. you have to tell the whole story and here is why. what is the whole story, jeremy? >> well, here's the thing. there has always been a very diverse ideological diversity in the black community for a long time. this is a history. this is black history. and cancel culture wants to completely supplant all of thatt voices and views that have been there throughout history. if you look at even in the back

early 1900s peculiarer t. washington and booker d. deboise. dr. king and malcolm x it h. different views. there has always been different approaches thousand advance the black community and achieve equality. now we get black history we get all that papered #-z over. or painted as one monolith or president biden you ain't black unless you vote democrat. actually, history teaches us quite the contrary. jillian: in your piece, you say cancel culture warriors were keenly exclude legends and give a couple examples i will give one like clarence thomas it. why do you think that happens? >> they happen to think to be conservatives and if you promote someone who is a conservative who is black, who is prominent, it goes against their agenda. they don't want to hear from voices like justice supreme court justice clarence thomas or former secretary of state condoleezza rice sitting senator
