we were all hoping to hear, the twitter message referring to tigers is, quote, he is currently a, responsive and recovering in his hospital room. thank you to the wonderful doctors and hospital staff at harvard ucla medical center, the los angeles county sheriff's department and the fire department and thinks to all of those. when you look at the video from the scene of the accident, it could clearly have been so much worse. woods is lucky to be alive according to the la sheriff's deputy who was first on missing, woods was extricated from the vehicle having suffered serious leg injuries and the chief medical officer at harvard ucla gave some details on those injuries saying, quote, fractures affecting both the upper and lower portions of the to be a and fibula bones were stabilized by inserting a rod into the to be a. additional injuries to the bones of the foot and ankle were

stabilized with a combination of screws and pins. those injuries sound devastating for an athlete like woods. it is an open question whether he will be able to play golf at a very high level ever again. questions too this morning about what led to the accident. speed may have been a factor on a winding down hill road. the sheriff said there was no sign of drink or drugs involved. >> no evidence of impairment subject to the investigation. we are looking at signs of the influence of narcotics, medication, alcohol, all the different things that would give you an idea but none present. >> reporter: the message on tiger's twitter accounts meantime added, quote, we thank everyone for the overwhelming

why isn't that public pressure leading state democrats to call for an immediate investigation? >> that is a great question. we've been asking ourselves that for several weeks now. it has been at a fever pitch, democrats are talking a big game at home in front of local news but when they get to albany they sit on their hands and nothing is getting done. to end this emergency power he has been given during the pandemic, let alone start an investigation. the call for officials to testify under oath which we have been calling for for months. jillian: what will it take for the truth to come out for families who lost their loved ones to finally get the answers

they deserve? everybody thought the smoking gun happened a couple weeks ago on that zoom call and it appears that wasn't enough to bring out the full truth. what is going to take? >> there was a smoking gun, a cover-up came out couple weeks ago from the secretary to the governor, the highest ranking in the state beneath the governor. what is going to take? great question. it boggles the mind they can sit and talk on that side of the aisle how something needs to be done, to determine what happened and why, make sure it doesn't happen again. the fact they have not even moved to end's emergency pandemic forward that we move forward in the senate 17 times

would call to terminate emergency powers. we moved to bring that bill to the floor of the senate. every democrat in the senate voted against it. todd: you mention the federal response. mary garland vowing the doj nursing home probe will enjoy the conflict of interest you alluded to with the mother-in-law of melissa derosa, one of his chiefs of staff, do you think that ultimately happens or do you think garland has to bow to that democratic machine? >> from what i saw of the testimony and reports i read, mary garland says he would be open to receiving evidence on it. what more does he need to be open to receiving evidence?

these guys are at the peak of physical performance. will he be able to make it in the games today. >> we found out tiger and's team without getting into all the medical terms, the bones below his knee pulverized, multiple breaks, not getting too graphic, the bone goes outside the skin. the leg below the knee is crushed and smashed in multiple places, a metal rod in it, pins and screws in it. it will be a long recovery. he will probably need additional surgery but if anybody can come back from this it is tiger. with sports and athlete some of them have a mentality, all he had it, and just friendly games, they always wanted to win and
