in part we believe indiscriminate fire rockets targeted and iraqi military base, the al-assad airbase hosting coalition that includes us troops, it happened at 7:20 local time, 11:20 last night eastern time and they now say iraqi forces are responding and investigating. according to earlier reports the rockets used were grad type rockets, truck launched, widely used in the middle east. these reports say the rockets used were iranian made, 122 millimeter. you might recall the al-assad base was the same one that was hit by iranian rockets in january of 2020. we now know that that attack left some 150 americans injured with the brain concussions. this is a much smaller attack,

pope francis is arriving for a tour on friday. carley: a group of california student-athletes suing governor gavin newsom for the right to play sports. they are being treated unfairly because college and professional indoor sports are allowed in the state. joining me now, heiskell basketball player brandon, his father, brad, jason elton and his dad jim and their attorney ken elliott, good morning to you all. you are the attorney in the group, talk about your lawsuits, why are you suing the governor? >> the lawsuits against the governor, there are a number of them throughout the state. we are alleging kids are being treated in unequal fashion, college and professional sports a been allowed since the

pride when i compete in these tournaments. carley: let's talk to jim, the changes in your son, because he can't play. how has this impacted your family. >> in a big way. it was jason's first year wrestling. so much pride out of the game. he looks forward to going to school every day, going to practice and being with a group of friends with close bonds with them. it was taken away from us. he has been depressed. his concentration in school has gone down, been a lot tougher. homework and everything has take

twice as long because it is hard to concentrate because he is cooped up in his house. is only child. is only outlet to be with friends was to be at school. it has impacted us in a hard way. carley: you brought up a good point that we should protect the most vulnerable student-athletes, healthiest kids, why not let them play? what is next? we are talking victories coming down the pipeline. when can we hear about this? >> there is a hearing on a permanent order in san diego county this coming friday. there are negotiations going on with the governor and we are hoping to have guidelines that will be useful through the state or sooner than that, negotiations are ongoing. >> governor newsom asked about the lawsuit, the state issued updated youth sports guidance

todd: what do you think the response should be? >> we should always project strength, and never in a proactive way attack a sovereign nation but what we are seeing is perpetual creep on our national security and the biden administration has been entertaining the iran deal which is a signal that we are going to present a week front they will make -- to allow russia and china. this is an incredible time in our nation's history as we are fighting on the home front to secure our borders with surges of caravans coming and we have serious challenges and we need

serious people. i'm not convinced biden is the man for the job. todd: biden calling it a challenge, not a crisis. look at the projected numbers of unaccompanied minors. the numbers are telling, 117,000 projected up from 33,000, in light of what it takes to care for one child and i'm having enough trouble keeping tabs on one. how is this not a crisis? >> that is exactly it. under this administration, things change rapidly. we ask who built the cages and he never could answer that during the campaign. now these aren't cages, they are holding facilities in classrooms but they are the same structures.
