lawrence jones. it's great. stick around. >> you left me extra time. thanks so much. >> bret: that's how much i like you. >> good evening. welcome to fox news prime time. i'm lawrence jones. there's two different stories playing out on the immigration front. one is in the american southwest and one is in washington. the first you're hearing a lot ant. the second you're not. and what happened today tells you everything you need to know about where joe biden and his elite silicon valley friends are taking our country. of course, you heard about the crush of migrants on the southern boarder. biden called them here. not only have they arrived, tens of thousands of more are coming. you've seen the pictures. they're heart breaking. thousands of women and children way late in mexico, praying for permission to enter america and
4:01 pm
asking for asylum. little do they know their kids may soon end up in containers. now, the white house is not worried about this. president biden shows no remorse. if you ask him to comment on it -- >> did you receive a briefing about the border today? >> yes, i did. >> what did you learn? >> a lot. >> is there a crisis at the border, sir? >> the men and women of the department of homeland security are working around the clock, seven days a week to ensure that we do not have a crisis at the border. >> but that is just the first immigration disaster they didn't want you to see. the second is much harder to spot. it's unfolding right now quietly in the halls of congress and the energy efficient skyscrapers of silicon valley. when they see these pictures as agonizing as they may be, they
4:02 pm
spot opportunity. they do. the heads of america's largest companies led by big tech sent a letter to congress demanding immediate action on immigration reform. what kind of action? good question. they're not asking for food, shelter or medical supplies for migrants. they're not asking for faster processing of asylum claims. they're not even asking to release the kids from containers. no. they're asking congress to provide an immediate pathway to citizenship not just for the migrants but for the dreamers. the people that already live here illegally. maybe some of them work for big tech. the bottom line is, this has nothing to do with the people waiting in line. president trump went down this same road in his early days of his presidency and they denied them. they called him a racist. these same corporations are now
4:03 pm
testing joe biden. though it may read that way, it was a threat. just read the small print for yourself. "if congress fails to act, our economy could lose $350 billion from the gdp and the federal government could lose $90 billion in tax revenue. delay or inaction will cause significant negative economic and social impact." okay. so if we don't give them what they want, what they want, doesn't tank the economy. this isn't about compassion. it's about the bottom line. it always is. whether it's cheap labor and fulfillment warehouses or highly skilled programmers from south asia, that is who they are fighting for. this is not about you. the hard working american taxpayers. it's always about them. you? you're too stupid to work at google. go build solar panels while we
4:04 pm
find your replacement overseas. while you're at it, complain about it on facebook so they have a reason to kick you off. it is the exact opposite of america first. this is literally america last in the middle of a economic crisis. so is joe biden on board with this? president biden? chuck schumer? mitch mcconnell? what side are you on? joining me now to react, steve hilton, the host of "the next revolution." what's going on here, brother? >> you just laid it out so well, lawrence. you just put your finger on it. i mean, when they talk about negative economic impact, they're talking about negative economic impact for themselves. what this is about as you just explained is a big change in our politics. those of us on the right that think of ourselves as conservatives, republican, whatever label, forever we thought of pro business party. we need to really think about
4:05 pm
that a different way. yes, we're pro enterprise. we're pro free market. we are not and should not be pro big business because big business has turned against regular american workers. big business is now completely taken the side of the democrats. not just on this particular issue of immigration but right across the board on issues like climate change, especially when you look at the woke leftist ideology silencing free speech that is being pushed forward by corporate america. so we have to understand the big business is the enemy now. they'll take your money, but they won't give you any respect. we should stand up for small business, for entrepreneurs, for free markets. realize that big business is definitely allied with the democrats and we have to fight them. >> steve, they're so crafty. they paint this from the aspect of identity politics.
4:06 pm
we did some research of our own. what are they doing with black employees, diversity? check this out. this is the stats here. in 2012, african americans made up 1.5% of all employees at google. since then, google has hired 1,800 black employees. what they don't tell you is this. it was the 1,800 out of 67,000 employees. where is the diversity there? >> it's so typical of so much that goes on in corporate america. it's all about virtual signalling. it's about doing the easy and cheap things like taking out an ad and putting blm all over it and saying we're for socialisty and diversity and we support black lives matter. in reality, they don't care. in the end, they don't care about people at all. that's the truth about these big corporations. they say that they do. but actually, they act against the public interests and certainly against the interests
4:07 pm
of workers, american workers, particularly right now as you said at a time when we have massively higher unemployment as a result of all of the lockdowns. the last thing you want to be doing is actually doing what big business wants, which is importing even more cheap labor to compete with american workers. surely everyone can agree right now is most of all the time to put american workers first. big business, they don't think about it as being -- they don't think about america being their home. it's the whole world for them. they're global. they down care about the country where they're based. >> well-put, steve. thank you. >> great to see you. >> also here tonight, republican senator of louisiana, john kennedy. senator, are you guys going to buckle to big tech? >> well, i read the letter, lawrence. i understand that the companies

want to reform america's immigration laws or they say they do. so do i. the american people deserve an immigration policy that looks like somebody designed the thing on purpose. the problem is that judging him by his deeds, not by his words, that's not what president biden wants. president biden wants to basically erase the difference between legal and illegal immigration. judging him by his deeds, not by his words. president biden thinks that getting people at the border, all people, vetting people at the boarder is racist. it's not. it's prudent. every country that i'm aware of does that. i will give you an example. look at president biden's $2 trillion coronavirus bill. he gives money to people in his
4:09 pm
bill that are in our country illegally. well, that is obviously an incentive to people to come here illegally and a disincentive to people to follow the rules. if i could say a word about the coronavirus bill, lawrence. president biden because we're going to be taking it up tomorrow. president biden said in putting together the bill, we want to meet you, us, the republicans halfway. if that's the case, he's a damn poor judge of distance. he's rejected everything we proposed. this bill is dreadful. the only way i know how to improve it is with a shredder. it's not even a coronavirus bill. calling this a coronavirus bill is like calling harvey weinstein a feminist. it's chocked full of spending porn. billions of dollars to states
4:10 pm
and local governments that have seen the revenues go up. billions to pension programs. billions of dollars to schools with no requirement that they open. it's an orgy of porn. and using a so-called coronavirus bill as an excuse to fund pork is like looting after a natural disaster. >> it's a bad idea. so senator, i have to ask you this. you've had the opportunity to meet zuckerberg. the ceo of facebook. does he care about the kids in this country being developed to go into this field? black kids, brown kids, kids across this country that need the qualification to get to that point to work in silicon valley? why not invest there? congress, the state legislators and all, they give the companies
4:11 pm
the tax breaks. it's not enough to say you invest in this country and in our youth. >> well, there's an old expression, lawrence -- you make a very good point, by the way, as usual -- what you do is what you believe. everything else is conversation. i said this beautiful, john part zard, a french philosopher said to be is to act. all we are is the sum of our actions. everything else is conversation. if you judge these large tech companies by their actions and the number of people of color that are employed there, the number of females, then they fail the test. i mean, they -- the gentleman on before me, it's easy to go when you're making billions of dollars a minute to go put an ad in the paper to say we believe
4:12 pm
in diversity. but you have to walk the walk. not just talk the talk. that's one of the biggest problems that i see. >> it's all virtual signalling. they post the black squares on instagram. they give all the speeches, they donate to all the groups. when it's time to actually take action -- the only thing that will save our minorities in this country, economic, jobs, good paying jobs and they refuse -- and immigrants. legal immigrants in this country. we celebrate that. apparently they don't. thank you, senator. >> thank you, lawrence. >> coming up, california governor gavin newsome finally comes up with a plan to reopen schools. the teachers union won't buy into it. why are that saying that these reopenings are racist? we'll get into that.
