james madison university in virginia is sending a search warrant to students tonight comply with the code of conduct for face immediate suspension. some parents aren't thrilled with how they are enforcing the guidelines. we are investigating. >> students have been anonymously reported through a surveillance app. it's all about enforcing conduc codes. parents say they don't like the campus court of justice. >> there is nobody helping thes kids navigate this pandemic. >> in some cases they are immediately suspended based on what's allegedly observed. they can bring somebody for the repeal. they said students can appeal suspensions with an attorney present. but what happened to kevin smith's son he said he was essentially on his own.

schools have to go to but two simply have the possibility of the loss of life because somebody acted in a way that di not match protocols. the school has to look at this rim macro perspective. they need to ensure the health and safety of all the employees every student on the campus and they can't do so if people are allowed to skirt the rules and skirt protocols. it's one of the reasons we've been on lock down longer than other developed nations. >> we've heard from james madison a bit more if they said after the students charged with allegedly related, violations between march of last year in march of this year only 15 had been suspended and none had bee expelled. it sounds like they are trying to do their best with applying this fairly. 's are pretty low numbers in light of the overall level of allegations.

you would not want to be one of those 15 that miss out on an entire year of tuition you just paid. i have to say this and courts that have come down on the students sides. the treads upon a students for off-campus party there's one ne york case where the judge said the school did not give proper notice and was trying to punish students for conduct that occurred over the summer. they can't decide what conduct is permitted and what isn't.
