discuss social media's role in allegedly promoting extremism and misinformation. facebook ceo mark zuckerberg and jack dorsey and google ceo are expected to talk about the importance of section 230 of the communications decency act as republicans and democrats alike called for reform with some demanding it be repealed altogether. section 230 is a rule that shield social media companies from being held liable for content on their platforms or allowing them to moderate that content. they will ask congress to consider giving social media platforms liability protection for certain types of unlawful content. it is the first time executives will be forced to answer questions from lawmakers on their decision to formally suspend donald trump from facebook and twitter after the capital ride in january but twitter and facebook executives maintain the former president is banned from the social media platform for good, he will be

youtube. of that information is good enough for members of congress but the american people can't hear it. >> we want to know in the way of censorship what their policies are and how they are being implemented and how they are implemented among different platforms. we need consistency and transparency. jillian: what is going on at the border and whether or not coordination on social media might have anything to do with that. a question that i might have. >> an excellent point. i can assure you the question will be asked. we are interested in how these different groups are using these platforms and what they are doing that is going to impact what is obviously as former speaker gingrich called it, a disaster.

it has passed being a crisis. it is a disaster. we know these platforms are being used by different groups and they are being used at the border and that will be a big question and there will be a lot of focus on that. jillian: there was a big debate yesterday on capitol hill on the for the people act which would dramatically change election law. let's listen to the two leaders of the senate duke it out. >> shame shame shame. why are you so afraid of democracy. >> the shame around here is turning the ftc into a partisan prosecutor to harass and intimidate the other side. jillian: someone should be ashamed of themselves. taking away rights from the states would dramatically

increase mail-in voting. your branch of government past it and it is headed to the senate. >> i didn't pass it. it was passed in a partisan fashion but this is not for the people. this is for the politicians. it will take taxpayers money and give it to politicians to be used in political campaigns. our constitution is clear it is up to the state legislatures to run the election processes in a different states. the federal government needs to stay out of it. this is the worst piece of legislation i have ever seen. it will lead to mass chaos and it will ruin our election system. there is no question about it. the state of georgia right now is still in session addressing it and they should be because it is the responsibility of the state legislatures. perfectly clear in our constitution. jillian: thanks for joining us. appreciate it.

are fully immunized. what do you make of these guidelines? >> from my experience the outbreaks i have seen have to do with social gatherings during the holidays. there is a concern with the easter holidays, we want to be careful but the key, we have a mixture of households. if you are a grandparent and fully vaccinated, you want to see a daughter in children that is okay if they are unvaccinated as long as it is just them and at low risk, low risk and no other mixing of households. it is still recommended, if you are going outdoors, in public, around other people, got to where your mask even if you are vaccinated because the vaccines are not 100% effective, we only

have 14% of americans who are vaccinated and johnson & johnson, 72% effective, a 30% chance of still picking up and spreading it to others may be at higher risk of covid complications at not had a chance, and that is important to take precautions, be safe, smart, protect yourself until we get more americans vaccinated, on our way to doing that. jillian: i didn't know what to make of this. researchers are studying, masks that cover your nose and not your mouth it restaurant so you can at least stay a little bit protected. >> it can enter your eyes, nose and mouth but you have to take off your mask when you are eating, it is okay to where it,

mourning the loss to their community. earlier in the day crowd paid tribute specifically to officer eric talley, police and firefighters lined the road as they watched the procession taking the body to the funeral home. we are hearing from the family of ricky knowles, the store manager, 25 years old, there is a hole in their family that will never be filled. >> she would come to the house and joke around and laugh. she would start laughing so hard she would snort. >> she would dance to the music. we called it her guerrilla dance. anything to make you smile. >> reporter: the suspect, 21-year-old, alyssa will be in court later this morning, will get a chance to hear the pending charges police have filed and hear his rights. alyssa currently faces ten charges of first-degree murder

on this door immigration policy that the president has put forward. one of the problems is that if an illegal alien is running away from law enforcement, there's no way that we have federal laws in place to retain them once they are actually caught. all this individual has to do is claim that they are an american citizen and if we can't immediately tell that they aren't an american citizen then they are released right back out into the community. we had a situation like that where we had three people cross over from the canadian border. these things just aren't happening on the southern border. crossover on the canadian border high-speed chase 50, 60 miles, once caught one of them claimed to be an american citizen so they were released back out into the community and later discovered they were a felon with an incredible record said this legislation would give the federal authorities the ability to charge them with a federal crime for fleeing law enforcement and be able to retain them and take a little

taking on the problems that president biden has created on the southern border. and for cbp and homeland security to be considering these things and they -- these plans have been on the board. they are just not implementing them right now. and for them to be considering these without having a discussion with the lone congressman from the state of montana is very troubling, i will tell you. we cannot have this kind of thing happening. it just goes to show how bad the situation is at the southern border. they are not able to acome indicate even processing these people. there are so many of them coming through. we cannot just lay it on the balance of the states to resolve this problem. jillian: yeah, that's so true. when you think about illegal immigration on the southern border. the last place that you really think of is montana. so it really shows how big of an issue this is right now with illegal immigrants getting flown to other states. you are hoping to do something about it and so is the governor. jillian: congressman, thank you. carley: thank you so much for
