by a sitting u.s. president. for more than an hour joe biden stood in front of the world and struggled to get words out. at times he seemed lost and confused and frequently became agitated despite cheat sheets in front of him. ari fleischer said it was bewildering to see biden read answers from a script. he had a large piece of paper with reporters with pictures preranked. peter doocy did not make that list. taking tough questions for fox news is a big no-no for a guy who can barely complete a co herrent thought. today is here how jen psaki circled back to the issue. >> we noticed any time the president has an event where he is given a list of reporters to call on, fox is the only member

white house press corp, they line up in agreement with the democratic policy agenda. when it comes to spending increases, the press corp is for it and against tax cuts. when it comes to what donald trump did on the border the press thought it was wrong. what joe biden is doing they think is right. they will tell you they are neutral and don't have opinions. they have opinions. when a president is a republican or donald trump before the press, the press is fast to interrupt and challenge and ask the follow-ups. did anybody follow-up with joe biden when he said he said it was racist. was barack obama a racist when he filibustered? they are just content to roll along.

mexico. we have seen cartel members human traffickers yelling and taunting the border patrol because they know under the current policy of the biden administration they can flood over. they get $5,000 a person to smuggle them into this country and the biden administration releases them. >> dan: according to susan collins the mexican cartels are controling who comes across the border and drug smuggling are in control. over-crowded border stations are packed with men, women and children. sarah carter is live in texas. >> hi, i am here in roma, texas.

behind me there is a makeshift processing center because so many people have been flooding through this small border town. i want to show you something. within less than 5 minutes i picked up all of these arm bands. they are given to the migrants crossing illegally by the drug cartels. they say you got here. these are issued by human trafficking organizations and they tag them like cattle and they charge them various prices. according to the texas department of public safety and the border patrol, i spent sometime with the tdepartment of public safety through governor abbott is filling in the gasps for the border patrol on land,

they walk up and turn themselves into border patrol behind me. last night i spent time with 19 senators that showed up here to see what was going on. senator ted cruz and lindsey graham and ron johnson and others who were here because they then is a crisis. they know this is a problem. even last night with senator ted cruz i ran into a group of migrants in the darkness. they came out to me. they were scared and frightened. i told them i am not law enforcement and i am a journalist and they were willing to talk to me. take a quick look at what we did last night. you see what is happening here. what goes through your mind? >> it's heart breaking. it's a crisis that is unfolding and it's getting worse and worse every day. >> the most insanely dangerous and dumbest thing i have ever

i want to talk about the media. before this segment and other shows that i did today, when you look at the push back and even cnn fact checked joe biden when said he was wrong about unaccompanied minors and said that the minors and immigrant families were being turned around at a higher rate. it's 41%. overall 70% are being turned away. it's not democrat or republican. they have to work together. one problem is asylum. you have to be in the united states to apply for asylum. that could be changed not by the president of the united states. it has to be done by the congressional body. politicizing this is beneficial for the republicans. but at the end of the day it doesn't solve the immigration

problem which needs a multi-facetted legislative approach. asylum is just one of the many issues. there is a backlog. why are these people leaving? and more. with regard to the drug cartel, if you go online and do all of the research and you look at the numbers for 17 years we have dealt with drug cartels and crossing is highest in january, february and march even at the checkpoints. >> dan: i get that. facts and data matter. you believe in numbers, right? i have the numbers right here. in the last season, 66,000 the peak during the season of the trump administration. we now have had 100,000 under biden. it's not even close. we have not had a number like that in the last 10 years.

if facts and data matter by what metric is this not an exploding crisis? >> i understand the arguments that some make. there are more variables that go into this. it intimates that the united states has to solve the economic crisis of every other country. not every other country openss its borders to let everyone in. we choose to be more deliberate about the people coming in. republicans and democrats have kicked the can down the road. the problem is the way the press is covering. i remember back in 2017 there

not what the chinese have said but done. when the virus showed up, they pushed aside the chinese cdc and world health organization people and the chinese military took over control of it. number 2 they shut down but you. -- wuhan. they encouraged international travel in and out of wuhan. when a country tried to shut the borders with china like president trump did, they called him a racist. it makes the chinese look guilty. to add to it, they never let international scientists if. they are just now letting scientists in but not american scientists. >> dan: one of the things going on at this chinese research facility were gain of function experiments.

they try to make a virus more lethal. kind of an interesting component to this story, no? >> well, certainly. it was of the just gain of function experiments, it was on coronaviruses and they stored more than 1500 strains. they didn't adhere to safety protocols and the first known case of coronavirus according to beijing occurred just a few miles from the wuhan institute of virology. the first known case had nothing to do with the sea food market. you put all of this together about china sending the top biological expert to it head the lab there to clean it up. it seems no unrealistic to assume it was just a transfer.
