left and the right making issue when it's solvable you can do three things closing certain loopholes, one you will get the asylum threshold make it more difficult to claim asylum at the southern border because what's happening cartels or telling people what to say so they get entry into the united states and why the vast majority of cases are rejected when it comes to the court because are not showing up or they don't have a credible case. to you fix a settlement because one of the problems you can only keep family groups for 20 days which is not enough time to get to being in front of a judge and seeing the judge you have to fix that as well. three you have to fix a loophole in a 2008 trafficking law which treat central american unaccompanied minors different than individuals coming from mexico if somebody is a unaccompanied minor coming from mexico as long as another trafficking victim we can send them back, we cannot do that with central americans.

three things, problem solve, congress can get it done. a quick follow-up, if it was your call to make or if you were advising over president trump would you tell them to go or not go. lisa: president trump? gillian: yes he should go or not go to the southern border. lisa: i like a little chaos and i think joe biden is a failure so for personal reasons i would find entertaining to get retribution for all about his immigration policies. gillian: what do you think. sean: i think president trump should go to the border to great contrast that brought us closer to securing the border in the chaos that joe biden has brought us on the southern border and jen psaki played that donald trump sent migrant children on a treacherous journey with cartels and drug lords, that is not true we would find them back home to their parents where they belong

and they would say we sent them back with cartels, that is absolutely wrong it cost $700 a day to house each one of the migrants you can get a ticket to central america for less than $700 and that's only one day, i think it's important to highlight what's happening at the border and there's no one better to do at the donald trump so i say go down mr. president talk about the differences between you and joe biden and what's happening on the border. lisa: my follow-up question to that, what good does that do americans and what good does that do to the foreign migrants who are showing up, how does president trump's presence help the overall situation. >> approves attention to the issue when you have a lot of the press coverage in america that is not truly telling the story on the southern border and donald trump going down and getting press and everyone covering what he's doing on the border highlights the chaos in crisis on the border in which you have the american public turn on the policies of the border in fear of what president trump was doing i think you get

democrats to actually act, i was in the congress into get legislation done you actually need democrats to participate donald trump was using the current law to work to secure the border democrats don't want to secure the border they want to open and expand their voter base, this is an about migrant children this is an about compassion this is bringing in more voters to vote for democrats as opposed to winning over american citizens to vote for democrat policy. gillian: go ahead lisa. lisa: my point is it could be done i worked in capitol hill and i see your point, the point is there are three things that are pretty easily fixed that they're not doing and when i said i like chaos i like political chaos not the chaos of the southern border what's happening through many of the children and the individuals who are making these dangerous journeys, it is wrong. gillian: it occurred to me while listening to sean were in a

authoritarian at the left as well as the media continue to fear monger and use new variants to deprive americans over civil liberties and freedoms of they have done over the entire time we were ready seen that lock stones do not work look at florida, lockdowns do not work but we continue to have citizens in places like new york city and california in an lockdown mode in business is only open at certain capacities, that is wrong, my concern again we will have a fear mongering in early on in the pandemic will make up better data i understood the 15 days below the spread when you had studies out of new york and studies out of sanford and miami-dade county telling us the infectivity rate was much higher than we right infidelity rate much lower used to hide governors and mayors not to do policy based on new information, based on new data and now we know that lockdowns do not work and you still have people changing policies beware of

it makes a lot of sense and if you don't have the rules in place what you see a lot of americans don't trust the electoral system and will bring this all together with we believe in our election, we believe there is a winner and a loser and the losers have to say we lost, you want all buy into your victory because if you don't trust the system and if you don't have guardrails in place to protect election then you don't have buy-in, that's a problem. lisa: on the flipside you have h.r.1 being presented by the media as a cure-all election problem a huge voting right expansion and mention the fact it's a complete upheaval of our entire election process and would be based entirely on partisan lines, do we need to start looking at some of our newsrooms and make sure there is more ideological diversity in some of our newsrooms.

gillian: probably be a good site to have on the opinion side, i also encourage newsrooms to revert to fact-based news reporting. tamia seems like that's what's really needed especially when you talk about pieces of legislation like h.r.1 or georgia voting bill these are pieces of legislation by the way that our model list and they do many things at once and you would be very hard-pressed to find one adjective like racist or a power grab that neatly encapsulates one of them even the georgia law that not all republicans are on board with every aspect of it lindsey graham told fox news chris wallace earlier this morning that he does not agree with the provision that keeps poll workers 25 feet away from people standing in line for hours not able to give them food, he says he does understand why that's necessary, some reporting about the different components and how these bills break out i think it would be very illuminating for a lot of people not just in georgia but around the country.

frivolous if the cops have to address them themselves and pay for the own attorneys there underpaid as it is they don't make enough money as it is they have to worry about that as well this is complete insanity on the city's part. tyrus: qualified immunity was brought in by the super important 1967 to protect police officers from frivolous lawsuit and somehow some way it ended up sprinkling over tour politicians i find it hilarious that bill de blasio was willing to take it away from the police officer's but he did not volunteer himself. let me ask you if you were in law enforcement would you take a job in new york? gillian: if i was in law enforcement we would all have a lot of problems because i would be the worst law enforcement officer you would ever meet, i'm not very brave physically but there is one thing here, i need

clarification into your point about all of this which is bill de blasio said earlier today that the reason he got behind this new provision was because specifically it doesn't make officers liable for the financial part of the lawsuits meaning they personally can now get sued by new yorkers who have a claim against them but if they're found guilty they don't actually have to pay out the claims that will come from the nypd, bernie is saying the office it he is saying thereafter paid out of their own pocket, that is the issue here i was looking around trying to find answers to this before the show started i was not able to see if i could get something later tonight if you know the answer to this that is the root of the discussion the officers are liable on paper but not financially, that is important.

tyrus: is not just that they have defend themselves and pay for a lawyer, they will go broke before they ever get to court is is. gillian: we bought our law enforcement officers distracted and fighting litigation when they need to fight on the street, it is a tough issue. tyrus: lisa let me ask you this, you do not -- you're not afraid to go there, how can you ask anyone to work in the city of new york, as a police officer you're literally sending them out to anytime they arrest somebody but they already have frivolous lawsuits thousands of them a year now literally open the floodgates could you in any way recommend anyone to be a police officer in new york. lisa: of course not we had hundreds injured during the george floyd bryant and what is bill de blasio and democrats choose to do the deed from the police and cut funding from the

nypd they chose to disband the police unit which was incredibly effective and this is all with the bill reform laws and made it a revolving door for criminals to get in and walk onto the street and continue to commit crime why would anyone want to be a police officer new york city but why would anyone want to live in new york city right now you have a city that is incredibly expensive to live in, the taxes are we to i and the rent is way too high and the mayor make the city less safe and i did not know the statistics but representative nicole malley talk is pretty country tweeted this out recently looking at last week they had three times the murder and twice as many rapes last week as they did last year at the same time period. why would anyone in the right mind want to live in new york city right now and certainly why would the police officer want to work there.

tyrus: sean, you been there, your politician, make sense, i'm just offended. sean: it doesn't make sense i'm a former prosecutor a lot of the cops i used to work with but if you get qualified immunity, yum! no young officers coming into the floor, here you have a new york city the police department to pay the settlement lawsuits, the problem is your already defended the police officers and more law enforcement to the city and up in court instead of putting them on the street doing their job of keeping the city safe, there's not about policy, there's a constitutional violation officers should be held accountable but beyond that let's let them do their job and not be stuck in the courtroom with frivolous lawsuits from angry defendants were arrested from bad behavior. tyrus: keeper men and women in blue safe. nurses and doctors and first responders are all essential personnel especially during the pandemic. but now san francisco is making
