12:02 am
record low ratings? raymond arroyo will pack it all in seen and unseen. less policing more crime is the focus of tonight's angle. i feel like it is déjà vu all over again. 50 years ago liberal big city mayors presiding once again over a major crime search and democrat leaders not only seem like they don't care, their responses to the search are making things more dangerous in america. last summer we warned you and we were adamant about this that this increasingly anti-police sentiment being allowed to build and faster was filled and fueled by lies about systemic racism fed by big city leaders who were carling rioters and looters instead of prosecuting them.
12:03 am
>> i want to ensure that we are fine. >> dozens if not hundreds of federal troops descending upon our city, not helping the situation at all. they are not wanted here. >> bringing those troops to our city and try to take off, that's not going to happen in chicago. >> donald trump and his minions are the architect of chaos in this country right now. laura: i forgot the blm taping by bill deblasio, that was classic. almost a year later with biden in the white house things are getting worse and more violent, not more peaceful as he promised. rather than recognizing this crisis that is brewing biden's parties turning on those who keep us safe, law enforcement. last week it was minneapolis, this week louisville and the biden doj is going to war with policing in the us.
12:04 am
>> justice department has opened a civil investigation to determine whether the minneapolis police department engages in a pattern of practice of unconstitutional or unlawful policing. the justice department is opening a civil investigation into the louisville jefferson county metro government and louisville metro police department. it will determine whether ellen pd engages in unconstitutional stops, searches and seizures as well as with the department unlawfully execute search warrants on private homes. >> recognize the choreography involved in this move, democrats hope it gets them one dance step closer to passing the george for justice and policing act which did pass the house it is in the senate. if that becomes law it would ban various police practices and give a left activist groups in put into writing all the new guidelines police have to abide
12:05 am
by. most devastating of all, it would eliminate police officers qualified immunity. >> we have to find a way to hold officers accountable so they will stop shooting people. they spend very little time on de-escalation but off a lot of time on of course how to protect themselves but qualified immunity is one way for officers to be cynically accountable. >> why don't we take their legislative community away from them. take their immunity in congress spouting off. this will do nothing except make our country more dangerous and policing as a profession much less desirable. already we've talked about this but it is worth every day thousands of officers leaving the force nationwide. 75% increase year-over-year in
12:06 am
new york city alone and the police exodus is not just happening in big cities either but also in the suburbs. in very wealthy fairfax county virginia they are hemorrhaging cops, the department was down 188 officers as of april 11th, dozens leaving, leaving each academy session and some new officers contemplate leaving the surface, to invest in their pensions, violence way up in fairfax county lately, more firearms seized this year than in the last decade combined. why would anyone if asked about this why would anyone sign up today for the abuse police officers go through every time they have to make a good-faith life or death decision?
12:07 am
think about it, there are bad cops out there and always will be, there are bad people in every profession but even the most conscientious, the most compassionate and most experienced officers can't guarantee they will get past the woke ever-changing training, to be a police officer on patrol today you are damned if you it do and damned if you don't. if you save a black teenager from getting stabbed and the billionaire basketball player makes you an instant target but if you let her get stabbed you are accused of letting a black girl die. the media are the ultimate co-conspirators in all of this and the continuing defamation of our police.
12:08 am
>> protesters gathering to remember 16-year-old ma'khia bryant who was shot on tuesday by police officer. >> shot fired by nicholas riordan reigniting a national debate about what constitutes reasonable force for police. >> another black man shot and killed by police at a family that wants answers. >> relive this unending nightmare of police shootings of unarmed african-americans. >> i should know the police officers many of whom signed up to make a positive difference in their communities make on average 67,$000 a year. at that pay level the risk of making a mistake might not be worth it to a lot of them. in joe biden's america the criminals who resist arrest get the benefit of the doubt but police rarely do. famous lawyers are getting rich off of this alleged misconduct, they move from tragedy to tragedy claiming abuse before full investigations are conducted hoping for the next big payout video, to know what they are trying to hide because
12:09 am
the truth cannot live forever. >> can we go one week without the police killing a black person unjustifiably? they don't shoot white men in the back but shooting a black man in the black is almost a cliché. >> how much money is that guy made in the past 5 years, when minneapolis ordered before the family $27 million did he get a cut. how much did he pocket from the $12 million settlement from louisville in the brown and taylor case? this has become its own hot franchise operation. everyone seems to want in on the action. cnn analyst sellers showed up in north carolina today to condemn the police in another case, for on the dramatic effect as if you needed and sporting an accident that maybe i missed something that i've never heard used on tv before.
12:10 am
>> i will say mister cop told me, a grown black man that he was not going to be -- so i walked out but let's not focused just on the disrespect shown to me, let's focus on the disrespect shown to the family. we in the carolina, county attorney and everybody else, let's talk. shannon: unfortunately for all of us crime is rising across america but in some cities the violence is close to outpacing what we saw during peak years in the early 1990s. where liberals ignore the ugly truth about the reasons for this the rest of us can see what is going on. the researcher from the manhattan institute notes that advanced reason, significant decline in the size of the nation's police forces could've helped assuage the violent crime
12:11 am
uptake and in part because of the anti-police and that characterize last summer's protests, the cops we have left became less proactive. it is not that complicated it shouldn't be to anyone over the age of 50. the hideous crime wave that began in 1960s also left liberal stammering for answers, new york's murder rates soared to a sustained period hitting a frightening 30.one in 1990. so the public was hungry for mayor of the giuliani who ran on a return to law and order. things began improving after 1996 but the city needlessly suffered for years and years. millions just gave up on urban america across the country and moved to the suburbs and those
12:12 am
who stayed where the superrich dorman and the very poor in government housing and the drug dealers and homeless folks and let's not forget the prostitutes. but the left did not seem to care what happened in the cities so if today's and type police your is allowed to grow what happened decades ago to our great cities in america will happen again, the cities will empty out and when enough good people get sick of seeing their country turning into a store run by criminals the response -- responsible politicians will be thrown out of office and strong crime fighters will be elected at every level of government and slowly but surely cities will again see a renaissance. democrats hating law and order and coddling criminals is not a winning platform and that is the angle. joining now is lieutenant governor mark robinson, a lot of heat in your state tonight after
12:13 am
a police involved shooting in the city. the response of activists is police in the country are systemically racist so they are hiding the whole videotape, executing a man who has his hand on the wheel and deciding to? one day when they wake up. what can you tell us tonight and do you believe any of that? >> thank you for having me, absolutely not, i do not believe all that. what i would say is slowed down, let the justice system take its course, take a look and find out what happened, what they should be focused on is the 7-year-old who was murdered in hickory in north carolina. what they should be focused on is the 7-year-old who was murdered in chicago last week. we are seeing murders take place across this nation at an
12:14 am
alarming pace and politicians at the highest level are turning an absolute blind eye. one of the most disgusting things that is happening in this nation right now is we see the poorest of the poor being murdered with impunity in neighborhoods across this nation and nobody cares because their too focused on these issues of injustice. >> how concerned are you about what i addressed in the angle tonight that we keep this up we are going to drive every good cop off the force and young recruits are going to quit mid training session. they are not going to want to go through this either, the split-second decisions they might have to make some day. >> you know what folks don't understand is this. we want to keep fatalities at
12:15 am
bay, aluminate police brutality but the way to do that is partnering with the police to remove those bad actors. we don't do it by degenerating the whole bunch of officers and policing altogether. if we continue to do this i can guarantee you we are going to reach a day we are going to sorely miss the friendly police officer, his badge, his nightstick and his gun and wish we had those days back because as we see right now crime is skyrocketing, criminals are watching policeman and know their hands are tied behind their back and because of that they are committing the agree just crimes we see against children, innocent victims on the streets every day. shannon: when can we expect the full videotape of mister brown's death to be released? >> i will be completely honest with you. i have no idea, i'm looking for
12:16 am
that tape. it is not my purview is lieutenant governor to be in position to adjudicate that matter. we have proper authority, and make sure something was done wrong, justice will be served. was we need to be focused on, what i need to be focused on is the depth of these innocent children and innocent victims across our state and around this nation. it is time we started doing something about the criminal and focusing on these few cops. >> the voter id laws have you fired up. those have also been called racist and part of systemic racism in the country. you take sharp issue with that. mister lieutenant governor. >> i take sharp issue with that, and with democrats when it comes to racism period. the state address in north carolina, governor roy cooper

and the admitted gall to talk about how systemic racism flows throughout the state and black people are afraid to walk the streets and can't walk the streets without being shot by police officers and fails to mention the success we've seen, one of the greatest successes we've seen in the state, the first black person to be elected lieutenant governor standing right behind him and did not even acknowledge it. it points -- it's not about color, not about race, not about justice. it is about attendance and it is sickening. shannon: that is shocking what you just said. took my breath away. lieutenant governor, thank you tonight for being here. unbelievable. when anti-copper drills with the country last summer the trump

white house stood by her men and women in uniform but as police once again come under attack team biden seems intent on doing everything they can to to moralize and demonize law enforcement. mark meadows, former mark meadows chief of staff. what is going on here. biden used to be mister law and order and now he is just like any garden variety woke activist on the street. >> it took joe biden 90 days, almost 3 months last summer to condemn the violence in minneapolis and wisconsin and was we are seeing is it has taken him 100 days to show his true colors, that he's against law enforcement, he's not want to stand up for the men and women in blue. he's all about merging to the left. moderate joe biden is gone, latching to the left to make sure the what happens is he puts forth an agenda that supports congresswoman tlaib, maxine waters and their radical leftist agenda.
12:19 am
shannon: she doesn't think her inciting of violence at the chauvin trial is going to matter at all if the case is appealed. >> the judge was all off-track. he knows this is not the cause of an appeal. most of the time they will appeal it anyway but to say i will cause an appeal is not fair. laura: you would have gotten a response like that? >> no rational person could get away with it and i can tell you with her comments about being more confrontational when she goes to rioters, it aligns with kamala harris who says she was encouraging them to not let up over the summer and to stay and bail out these protesters. let me tell you the left is real

focused on making sure everybody keeps their covid mask on regardless of their age or if they had a vaccine but they are taking the mask off. they are not with law enforcement and we cannot stand by, the american people need to judge for themselves but we cannot stand by and let this to continue. what we need to make sure everything any bill that comes forward the democrats don't side with trial attorneys at the expense of law enforcement. laura: i'm not sure why we should work with them at all. don't know why we are falling all our very ourselves to work with people who think we have a horrible awful racist country. >> donald trump brought in community leaders, law enforcement together last summer. was a beautiful thing. i was there in the room when he brought these folks together and said we can get police reform
12:21 am
done but what happened is the democrats started making it a lot more not only politically important to their side, they started siding with the leftist activists. i was with a law enforcement officer earlier today 29 years of experience, his dad had 31, 60 years of experience and they are going to end of retiring because of this nonsense going on in america. >> back to 1970s style of america, urban warfare. if you voted for this you are getting it, time to turn it around, thank you. as joe biden hits 100 days hemingway, victor davis hanson tell us why anti-americanism that has been animating feature of his presidency is starting to weigh on both.
