interview caitlin jenner, the honest candidacy she has going very, but that's all the time w have left for this evening. hope you set your dvr and never miss an episode. we will never be the media mob your hearts be troubled, laura ingraham takes it home tonight very. >> i'm more a ingraham and this is "the ingraham angle." we have a fun laura: i am a laura ingraham. we have a very fun show for you. the press must have watched a completely different biden address earlier in the week. you will be shocked by the reaction to it, the most extreme and the most in a in plus the return of our mystery guest series. this particular person just recently received a star on the hollywood walk of fame. the big reveal later in the hour and an update on the white

house's most dangerous resident, but first the go-getters versus the gloom game is the focus of tonight's angle. over the past 24 hours we have been overwhelmed by your response to our red state trailblazers townhall in orlando last night, we had five gop governors who joined us for a wide-ranging conversation how they have grown their economies and protected individual freedoms and beaten back the radical leftists dominating the democrat party. none of them had waited for washington's permission to open their businesses or lift their mask mandates, none are cowed by the woke mob, the gender
12:02 am
fluidity crowd. >> one thing all the ceos told me, they could not operate in california. great for their employees, great for the staff, great for their vision of what they want to achieve in their business. >> encourage people to step up and do the right thing and fight back. >> i am going to sign a bill that holds big tech accountable to send to you or platform you. and sensor political candidate speech. >> the democrats very dark vision of america. >> tonight i come to talk about the worst pandemic in a century, the worst economic crisis since the great depression, the worst attack on our democracy since the civil war.
12:03 am
waiting for a box of food to be put in their trunk. more than 400,000 schools and childcare centers have prices levied. laura: it is shocking more people didn't tune in for such an inspiring message. >> we have to come together, root out racism in the civil justice system and to root out systemic racism that plagues american lives in other ways. >> plagues american life. the governors of florida and texas, the most diverse states beg to differ. >> a bunch of horse the newer. give me a break. this country has had more opportunity for more people than any country in the history of the world and doesn't matter where you trace your ancestry from. you use race to divide and attack each other and it is wrong. texas is the land of opportunity for absolutely everybody and we want to unite everybody. >> today's democratic party is
12:04 am
so left it has left america. it tolerates illegal immigration, cobbles criminals, boomers, riders and seek to silence any and all opposition from law-abiding citizens. look what they did to senator tim scott on twitter this week. i guess they thought they were being cute with her uncle tim hashtag but really what they did is they just revealed once again how sick, twisted and anti-american they've become. >> it seems like many people the democratic party, not just the file if it made me people in the democrat party are putting down america day in and day out, almost as if they want to act as if there is not this thing called the american dream and they are absolutely wrong. >> the truth is today's democrats despise our political system, they hate the way most americans live and revile our history and our traditions so when biden talks about creating
12:05 am
opportunity he is just talking about opportunity for big government to grow bigger by taking more of your money and more of your freedom but for the gop governors opportunity means job creation in the private sector, free from the heavy yoke and high taxes and endless redtape. >> texas ranks number one in the nation for black-owned business job creation, black owned job creation, hispanic owned business job creation, hispanic entrepreneurs. >> to become job creators and entrepreneurs kids have to be in school. they have to be learning, have to be playing sports and having a normal life. >> americans also need to be together, not shut away from one another. at least that is what the republicans fought for. >> president biden got on the air and said we want everybody to be playing sports again. i'm like we were doing that last
12:06 am
summer. we were doing that last summer. >> he is completely out of touch with what is going on in our state, does not know what is going on. >> we want you the democrats would seek to use the pandemic to keep us in a continual crisis mode. then that crisis, the pandemic, roles and the next crisis, systemic racism crisis, the climate crisis, hawaii just a clear climate emergency yesterday so the perpetually crises are used to justify the left's brazen efforts to take more of our money and more of our liberty, that is how the game always goes but the only real crisis that america suffers from today are those created by them, democrats like the border crisis or the education crisis or the crisis of rising crime.
12:07 am
so if texas, florida and the other red states and followed new york and california's lead a year ago think about it, america's economy would be in the dumps just like europe, this is ahead by out of germany today where they are implementing once again more pandemic restrictions, meanwhile our first quarter real gdp number that just came out, 6.4% growth, that is truly astounding and biden is trying to claim credits, it is all his doing but he deserves exactly 0 credit for today's booming economy. it was all the doing of donald trump, the red state governors and the american people who rejected the doomsayers and stuck with first principles, they trusted their own constituents over the so-called experts who wanted us masked up and afraid for as long as possible. so if biden had been president a year ago, if he had been president all of america would look like michigan, failing, miserable and pessimistic.
12:08 am
let's not forget how they saw this whole thing unfolding a year ago, they were saying we might not recover from this pandemic economically for decades but what the story of the past year really reveals is that americans can't be held down or held back by washington for a very long. now democrats won the election by selling biden is a nice moderate democrat but now the visitors begin to see that got an elderly hostage to the far left. they've gone from obama's yes we can to biden's yes we are racist. this deeply cynical view means democrats can only occupy america, they can't really govern it. what a depressing world they want to foist on us but optimism beats pessimism any day of the week and by next year a lot of suburban women who voted for
12:09 am
biden will think the doom and gloom social distancing of the democrats has got really old and will be looking for brighter vision. >> all these governors are doing it right and we will have a resurgence of freedom in this country in 2022. >> we saw what a pro-american government looks like. it was all about joy, success, love of country and freedom. that is the angle. joining me now is the cofounder and publisher of the federalist and fox news contributor and massive walls, host of the matt walsh podcast. how much longer can pelosi hang on to this razor thin house majority when the red states are obviously leading us to an economic post pandemic kaboom at least in the short term before lord knows what happens under biden? >> i have to compliment you for
12:10 am
that opening, and eloquent monologue that really frames the question very clearly for us all. this is a situation that these octogenarians are white knuckling it to the end. they are trying to push through everything they can while they can in the space of impending doom they anticipate because we look at the midterm as being the kind of thing that anyone with a political brain can understand is going to lead to a lot of republican success, a lot of conservative success. because of that pelosi and schumer and biden are trying to jam through as much leftist policy as they can in a short timeframe and because of that we are seeing how crazy it is, how ridiculous it is and how
12:11 am
anti-american it is. >> let's go to what biden said about the border. he was on with craig melton, he wants to ride the wave of enthusiasm to the joint session of 200 people this week so he gives a couple interviews to push his spending plan and this is what he said about the border. >> 170,000 people, migrants apprehended at the border, a 20 year record, sounds to most folks like a crisis. >> it is way down now. we've gotten control. they didn't have the beds that were available, they didn't plan for the overflow. there is a significant change right now. >> we didn't need the beds, they have 25,000 kids in custody right now tonight. it is a crime what they are doing at the border. that was a disgusting answer. i'm being injudicious for saying that but that is galling.
12:12 am
>> it is a disgusting answer there's a lot of that we get from the biden administration. i agree with you listening to the speech a few nights ago, even i am listening to that thinking cheer up a little bit, my worry is biden gets away with lying like you just said because he has the media on his side but also that speech was the most radical speech we've heard in that setting maybe ever but the way he comes across as so -- he puts you to sleep and i think just viscerally you don't get the sense, that what he is doing is radical. you have to pay attention. it is hard to pay attention, that's one of my concerns that he loves everyone to sleep and that is how they rammed through the agenda. >> when i was with these governors last night, they had
12:13 am
kim reynolds from iowa, one of the first to push schools to open, she took on the teachers union, the superintendent in des moines, these are liberal radical -- he took them all on. and then you have abbott, gangbusters in texas with the open border, desantis, kate reeves in mississippi, very positive and rickets in nebraska. these in nebraska these are strong optimistic forward-looking leaders and washington does not understand the way the real world works and they always tune out to the extent they can. >> this is something you have been on for your entire career, something that is very true about america. we have a situation in america where the people who govern best govern closest to the people and washington is at a total distance from the people, not just the elected politicians but
12:14 am
people like anthony fauci, people who are completely unrelated to the reality of what is going on, you talked about it in the open regarding joe biden, the idea that people aren't getting together, i have been invited to three different cinco they mayo parties. they are not waiting for permission to gather together and celebrate and have a few beers together. they act as if they are in control but the reality defies the man that is something that is good in america's that we should encourage and in the coming weeks and months we will see more of it as we see that distance increased between was we hear from government officials and what people are doing in their lives. >> biden still resisting the actual truth about masks, he is on this morning again after
12:15 am
saying masks for 100 days, we are going to wear masks for 100 days but this is what he said today. >> you and i took our mask off and look at the distance we are but if we were sitting talking to one another i would have my mask on even though we've both been vaccinated and so it is a small precaution to take it has a profound impact. it is a patriotic responsibility for god's ache. >> it is a security blanket at this point, holding that mask. >> it is. i compare it to someone walking outside with a mask, a pacifier and a teddy bear, it makes them feel better, but people are depending on the mask that outside especially if they are vaccinated they don't need at all. i worry people's brains have been warped by people like joe
12:16 am
biden who scared them have to death. >> he just looks -- >> he loves her pacifier, loves her teddy bear so i completely agree with you. >> we can accept. >> you guys have beards, that counts at this point. you don't have to have -- no masks, just beards. great to see you tonight, the red state trailblazers told how they help small businesses thrive during the pandemic but the blue states made life worse for small business owners. in california things are just dire. my next guest is you can't find people who are willing to show up at the restaurants not because they are afraid of covid. joining me as the owner of the restaurant flatfish. i heard this from other restaurateurs and it is really bad. here in minneapolis where we are
12:17 am
tonight they have been decimated. they can't get people to show up, hard to run these restaurants, the ones that are in business. what are you going to do? what is happening? >> it is everywhere, not just southern california but the entire labor market is dry across the board. they stimulated that environment earlier on but what i figured talking with applicants, people are making a significant money on unemployment so let me wait this out and i understand that to some degree. a lot of people don't know if restaurants get shut down again, oregon, washington starting to shut down again. going back and forth. laura: how do we fix it? >> we've just got to open and it is that simple and decrease the amount of unemployment benefits because there is no requirement that you look for work.
12:18 am
i've got some employees who are double dipping because they are not checking it in california they misappropriated so much money the system is broken anyway so they are just doling it out and they get it in so the whole system right now is a little bit broken especially in places like california. shannon: joe biden wants to expand unemployment benefits. it's not getting back to basics. open up the economy, people want to go out, they will go to restaurants and wants to have fun and be with each other. a lot of them feel safer now and they are safer. it is about pulling back government overreach, we don't do that people will double dip, triple did. i know friends of friends who, we've got unemployment, i am working but this is temporary. are you kidding me? >> of course. i made the fatal flaw of looking at my twitter comments and
12:19 am
realizing this has become class warfare. everyone is pointing at me saying you are exporting your workers, not paying them enough, we are offering $25 an hour for dishwashers and cooks right now and i can't get applicants. we increase that month on month week on week because the demand has gone up. i'm the bad guy, 50 to 75% above the minimum wage, where do we stop? >> were is your business today compared to pre-pandemic, what percentage of your business? >> it is all of the placement some restaurants, we open 5 days a week because we don't have enough employees, some of the businesses because we got support for speaking out is still rough but we don't have the employees, we are kind of over. shannon: thanks for selling the all of this, this cannot continue. it is an impossible business climate long-term for this country, thank you so much and we are closer to revealing tonight's mystery guest. can you guess who it is? is another clue.

12:29 am
>> pete buttigieg from south bend, indiana things we have racism on the interstate highway system? if he is the authority on racism, not the black senator from south carolina. >> senator tim scott has a very thick skin, courageous for having gone out and given that speech, it doesn't play that well. it can be a political curse, people are mocked and attacked for years to come. he gave an uplifting message that was well-received. worse than that the left couldn't keep themselves behaved, they let out what was in their heart of hearts, he's not allowed to be black because he didn't vote for joe biden. they attacked him with racist attacks like uncle tim, words that are banned from children's libraries because liberals are obsessed with uncle tom's kevin and twitter trying to promote this. it showed who they were.
12:30 am
>> the worst thing for the media is to have a minority citizen in america, black, of color, gay as a conservative. heaven for bid they voted for trump. they have to be crucified. >> joy be hai thinks she because she was in blackface she can be a leader on this issue but senator tim scott made a deeply personal point that he thinks racism from the left, he has been called uncle tom, the n-word, what does the left do, they say hold my beer, let's prove this man right by getting uncle tim trending on social media. the left purport to say they are about women or lgbt q community or the minorities until you don't subscribe to their liberal dogma then they attack you and try to beat you into submission. they are not about any of these
