for money. what's your take on that? >> ill tell you what politician and teachers need to stand up to their own union it is very clear, i mean we keep talking about first 100 days, two weeks the fall the schools should be open right now. that's what the science says. so any politician, any union that says -- but, but, but this -- it is not in line with what should be going on. i don't see any pushback from the democrat when is it comes to the teachers union as you correctly displayed tammy that give democrats way too much money. there's a financial incentive to go along with what they say, you know, there's always been this talk about the nra and how much power they have. there's nowhere near the amount of power that the teachers unions have. they can silence people within an instant and we're seeing right now so many of these unions have said for years that they do what is in the best interest of the kids. how can you say that when you

see the disparity, in learning compared to the rest of the world when you see the mental health issues that the kids are facing. when you see that these kids are traveling over 50 miles to get scholarships at charter schools because this was their last shot. and the bsh been inflicted on these kids because you know they report them when parents or, you know, foster care are abusing these kids in the school sos none of that is happening right now. don't give me bs that you care about kids when we needed you the most where were you? you were at home. >> they argue griff, that they are essential workers that teachers, and yet when you look at grocery store workers from the beginning was pandemic facing hundreds of strairntion strangers a day gobbing workers in pharmacy and market, transportation workers let alone

i have a teacher friend in california who teaches like 7th or eight grade they said, you know, watching kids in zoom every day looking at their faces being self-conscience of what they're seeing every day is like staring in a mirror for six or seven hours day on top that, you've now got minority leader mitch mcconnell standing up with 39 other gop members saying for goodness sakes don't go teaching taking a federal grant to teach this 1619 project who is fundamental belief is surge that preserving slavery was really the reason for founding this great nation. it is unbelievable and you hope there are at least some level headed adults in the room that are gloing to say wait a minute, let's take a breath here. we've got the administration we want in place, but let's attack a look at what we're doing and prepare for what we're going to have to deal with for years to come. >> i think nicole we have a few seconds here but this is remarkable that they're keeping kids out and then we think about

you brace yourself california is releasing 76,000 inmates and in a push by the golden state to reduce the size of its state prison population. of those more than 63,000 were convicted of violent crimes in a whopping 20,000 inmates who are serving life sentences. the california office of administrative dana saying in his statement, quote, the goal is to increase incentive for incarcerated population to practice good behavior and follow the rules while serving their time and participate if in the if rehabilitative and educational program which will lead to say for prisons well since last march, california department of corrections has graduated early release to about 11,000 inmates in an effort to prevent spread of the coronavirus throughout this state prisons. dr. sapphire let me start with you this was done swiftly in secret -- in the it name of public safety because of the coronavirus is

positive incentives for good behavior that might decrease violence against our prison guards. but if you start making these penalties too lenient and easy for people to get out of jail you may see more committing crime because they're not afraid of the penalties anymore. >> kimmy california had a one time recently the highest population prison population in any state of the country, obviously, rehabilitative programs tried to cut down on that but here's the real fact. recidivism rate in california is still about the same a little over 50%. and so you're seeing republicans in the recall effort jumping on this saying this is absurd makes no sense, it puts californians in great danger. what do you say? >> well it's clearly the liberal agenda we've seen it in various cities including in los angeles, with the no bail framework. there's this refusal to punish and imprison bad guys and to prosecute them in los angeles alone you're looking at a 200%
