jillian: the colorado man accused of killing his wife makes his first court appearance, reportedly became emotional, the judge denied him bail but granted contact with his daughters win behind bars. when he was arrested nearly one year after his wife disappeared. police do not believe she is alive. her body is not been found. he is charged with murder in her disappearance. todd: a situation in minnesota, video showing 5 hostages being freed from the wells fargo in st. cloud. they cheered when the suspect was finally arrested after 8 hours of negotiations. >> walking out. todd: police say raymond held up the bank because he was mad about the transaction, he had an extensive criminal history it was even due in court over a violent offense the same day as that attempted robbery.

article. my feelings were a little bit hurt. and of course the article was peppered with economic and platitudes, this is the world in which i live. i talked to hundreds of workers, current and ex-workers, restaurant owners, management, you name it. we know what is happening. there is no single factor per se. it is a confluence of factors leading to the labor force situation. unemployment insurance is a common denominator. i got to say number one a lot of restaurant workers are weary about the future. look in the past things were open and closed and now here we are going into a time we potentially reached a certain level of herd immunity with the vaccines but still hearing maybe you will be able to have a cheeseburger by the fourth of july. a lot of restaurant workers say i'm not going to back my job if we are going to be shut down again, look at oregon and washington shutdown again last week. they say i will wait this out

and see if the government screws it up. a lot of people couldn't get unemployment benefits during the shutdown in california and are afraid of losing them again. jillian: the article you were not contacted for, this quote reads the owner of the flatfish restaurant franchise took to twitter last week to declare there are no employees available in california. the top reason the article states they are making enough on unemployment and would rather not work according to you. the article goes on to say the chief economist at the afl-cio labor federation said it is, quote, self-evident that millions of people are trying to find work, just because an employer hasn't found them yet at the wages the employer is willing to pay doesn't mean the workers aren't out there. i will tell you i myself have interviewed restaurant owners even the last few weeks little in the last few months to have said the same thing you are saying, but i cannot find people to work for me. i'm willing to pay people $15 an

hour, in your case $21 an hour, but you are not the only one i am hearing this from. >> i do think there's a certain level of wage inflation that might kick in because supply and demand are playing around with each other and we went 16 to 20 in our 4 step benefits and bonuses and we bunted up 20 to 25. we are not getting that many more applicants. i am now because i have become the lightning rod on this but what other restaurant owners are telling me is that. there are people saying childcare is an issue, schools are closed. that is a big problem because people have to stay home and take care of their kids. if they pay for childcare or a babysitter there are a lot of factors leading to this but all of them involve the government. todd: many on the left say we would be rising if your unemployment claim was correct. what is your response to that?

at's communications director by accident. todd: i feel like we talk to you by saying they walk their mistake back twice a week. >> reporter: twitter accidentally suspended the account belonging to communications director for republican congresswoman elyse stephan it, for sharing trump related content. the communications director told fox news she recently shared links to donald trump's new communication platform and the account was locked out and she was given no explanation as to why, she slammed then move as unconstitutional overreach but is what a spokesperson told me the account was suspended, quote, in error saying it had been reversed and the account was reinstated after the social media giant has been taking enforcement action on accounts that exist to repost content from trump's new platform. that platform launched this week just before facebook decided to
