attorney general office is now reportedly xangsding its investigation of sexual harassment allegations. we have live team coverage on these stories alex hogan in new york on governor cuomo latest controversy but first christina coleman in santa monica california with an update on that massive chinese rocket hurdling down to earth. christina. reporter: hi griff, well that rocket is likely to hit down somewhere on earth in the water because this earth is mostly water about 70% of it. now the latest forecast indicate that this crash landing going to happen some time early tomorrow morning. around midnight in the south pacific. but again as very difficult to pin point an exact time and location -- >> when you're traveling as fast as this rocket body is traveling, if you're off project wring it is going reenter off by ten minutes which it is really easy to have off by ten minutes then you're off by, you know,

3,000 miles. reporter: this giant rocket blasted off on april 29th from south china, and it is huge compared to others it is 100 feet long 16 feet wide weighs 22 tons normally in space launches, rocket bodies deattach fall on planned path into ocean but this long march 5b rocket somehow ended up in orbit around earth and no one knows exactly where huge chunks of it will end up. it is orbit covers a large portion of the planet from canada to new zealand so this is a threat that could end up hitting an inhibited area this chinese rocket is one of more than 10 that china plans to sending into space and it is ambition to create its own space station. chinese authorities say most of this out of control rocket will likely burn up in outer space. but there's mounting concern over the outcome of this situation. here's u.s. defense secretary lloyd austin. >> speaks to the fact that --

city, of course, with more. alex. reporter: hi molly. new departures from cuomo's administration among them, the communications director who announced that he will resign and will be replaced by a former aid to the governor. now another departure a vaccine czar who stepped down end of last month larry schwartz named in a report by "the wall street journal" back in march public officials asked to resign and journal reporting that state attorney general's office is expanding the sexual harassment investigation now include these planes. critics to the governor are already reacting. >> you do things for people that may not like you that may not support you but that's your job as public official. >> there's no execution in terms of sexual harassment in kind of culture that he's promulgated but scandal and the governor should step down.

>> harry schwartz claims zero line drawn to governor and information or access to vaccines. it is just one of several investigations involving governor andrew cuomo another look into whether the administration undercounted nursing home deaths, engovernor defended actions earlier in the week deny any wrong doing saying he will not resign now cuomo has not touched on any of the new information today. but he did release some information if the state of the pandemic here saying that if about 60% from nearly i should say 60% of all new york adults at least received one dose of the vaccine. molly. molly: all right. alex hogan staying on top of this one out of new york. thank you. griff. griff: lawmakers are now sounding the alarm after a cyberattack forces the temporary shutdown of a major fuel pipeline that runs from texas all the way to new york.

lucas tomlinson is in washington with this story. lucas. reporter: the cyberattack shutdown wasn't of the largest pipelines in the united states missouri lawmaker on homeland security committee indicated it came from overseas. the fbi is investigating. >> going to find a whole republican and democrats alike outraged at the audacity of a foreign actor trying to disrupt our economy. >> colonial pipe ship gas fuel over 5,000 miles from texas to new york. responsible for roughly half of the fuel on east coast. in a statement the company said, we proactively took certain systems offline to contain the threat which is temporarily halted all pipeline operations in effected some of our i.t. systems upon learning of the issue of leading third party cybersecurity firm was engaged and they have already launched an investigation. there are reports this was a

ransomware attack using encrypted files on guys to shut it down. malicious earkts demand a payment to turn it back on and two months after solar wind attack and microsoft hack blamed on china senator ben sasse sits on committee releasings a follow statement this is a play we run again and not adequately prepared if congress is serious about an infrastructure package front and center should be hardening of the krill cat sectors rornt masquerading this infrastructure and marsha blackburn late blame on two of the top veardz cares. >> russia and functioning in that gray zone. reporter: analysts say this halt in operations is not expected to have a significant impact on fuel markets unless the pipeline remains shut down for several more days. in washington, lucas tomlinson. fox news. griff: derrick goldstein of the cybersecurity and infrastructure security just told us, quote, we are engaged with the company and

are enter agency partners regarding the situation. this underscores the threat that ransomware poses to organizations regardless of size or sector we encourage every organization to take action to strengthen their cybersecurity posture to reduce their exposure to these types of threats. molly. molly: president biden talking up the economic recovery despite this april jobs report that fell way below expectations. the u.s. only added 266,000 jobs last month and the unemployment rate unexpectedly rose slightly to 6.1%. all of this as the biden administration continues to promote the president's $4 trillion spending plan. mark meredith is unpacking all of this for us at the white house. mark, to you. reporter: good afternoon, the white house is not panicking over this latest jobs report instead it is using to double down only the calls for congress to spend trillions of dollars to make sure that the country is

get out of the pandemic quickly. as you mentioned, the unemployment report shows right now that it is ticked up just slightly to 6.1% one bright spot in leisure and hospitality employers added 331,000 jobs that's really jobs and restaurants and bars, treasury secretary janet yellen says while hiring was slow in some of these sectors, it really is not all through the globe. >> indeed we've made remarkable progress. afterall, one year ago we learned we've lost over 20 million jobs in one single month. i believe we will reach full employment next year. reporter: it's an ambitious goal but republicans and some business owners say that biggest issue they have right now is finding work percent right now the federal government don't forget pays unemployment enhance benefits on top of state benefits of $300 a week. that is right now scheduled to last until early september. but some people argue those incentives are keeping people progoing back to work.

man's work is another man's priority but it look like earmarks back in full force what do you make of this? >> yeah. you're exactly right they'll have the members who want pork spending on congressionally direct spending however defend this to the hill say this is good for the district and what have you we're all familiar with the long list of ridiculous pork projects produced by or high lyinged by places like citizens against government waste and others. there are already in this new set of spending some $6 billion in pork and many of them many of those projectses have same identifiers. yoga wellness, you know things along those lines. [laughter] griff: two million for the enhancing of a japanese garden $6 million for a oregon museum does it surprise you that both

democrats and republicans are asking for earmarks? >> yeah. this is a big change. right republicans at force worn earmarks more than a decade ago said this was a time when republicans were using size and scope of government arguments trying to be the party of limited government. and that t they're really not doing that them so it wasn't that surprising when the house voted several weeks ago to reenstate ear marx and you had people like house leader kevin mccarthy defending these earmarks saying we have to keep the biden administration from directing where this money goes to. the problem with that is at 28.2 trillion in debt, when you have the parties out competing each other to spend on silly projects, that just going climb higher. griff: that $6 billion price tag you mention our fox news.com folks really broke that story and they did it by reviewing the

community project request in the federal budget and of 326 members that they've got information from. 220 were democrats, 106 were republicans. does this become a problem for republicans or democrats in the next midterm election? >> yeah. i think it is a problem for republican it is in that they can't make the argument against earmark. right one of the most effective arguments you've seen when republicans have had big midterm years whether you're talking about 2010 or you're talking about 1994, has been big reform arguments. and in particular on spending issues. but they're not going to be in a position to make these as republicans go and make these requests again and again and again it is going to be much more difficult for them to pretend to be the limited government party when they're doing the same kind of thing. griff: you and i are old enough to remember and we're living here in this town when the famous earmark of all of them the bridge to nowhere from texas -- from alaska senator ted stevens

but now this shift to really woke earmark social justice earmarks. it seems they're more difficult to either criticize or defend. >> yeah. i think they're going to end up looking a lot like ear marx of old. these are the kind of things that members of congress like to -- the kind of spending that they like to procure so that they can take it on the campaign trail and when they're doing campaign stop and whatever town they're gaffing speech in they can say -- i'm responsible for having this hiking trail paved or as you said providing new bathrooms for an outdoor park. they like to be able to say that to a certain extent that's parts of the job of being a member of congress is -- to campaign for reelection to say this is what i did for my constituents it is very different when you've got such a high volume of projects that are very debatable at best, and many cases certainly looking at recent history totally wasteful

indefensible. >> if you can flip this in broader context in what we have and where this is headed. >> yeah. well you have -- 225,000 dollars of debt per taxpayer. in the country right now, if you look at what joe biden has proposed, for just proposed in first 100 days 2.2 trillion dollars in covid relief. you have 1.9 trillion dollars the american jobs plan, you have 1.8 trillion dollars the american families plan. 1.8 trillion dollars was the third highest of those three in the first 100 days. you have to just stop and think about 1.8 trillion dollars. now, the biden administration proposed some $600 billion plus in taxes to help offset some of that spending but not not a lotf it but a spending deluge and who will pay for it and certainly

this mother's day weekend giving up time on this saturday we really appreciate it. i have to say giving your committee assignment this seems to be in your wheel house it is in your area in your region this is something that actually affects your region. and as white house said the federal government is working actively to assess the implications of this incident. your thoughtings what are the implications here? >> well it is troublesome our nation's energy supply is a matter of national security and there's no doubt this is an example of how important it is and how we have neglected it and have not paid as much attention or careful attention to it whether we're talking about our pipelines, or our -- or the grid. >> there's not a lot of information yet as to, you know, what entity did this who and why they did it that sort of thing what is your biggest concern the worst case that are joe and how do we begin to combat this problem?

we are unprepared and might increase in the future that's the great etion fear and that's why i believe that you'll see the better development really trying to work hard and help this company forget out what did happen. we're going to have a lot of questions that we want answered and how do we prevent this from happening in the future? now when we look at our energy policy here in the united states, one thing that i think we need to make sure we understand or clear on is that under biden administration right now, we we've had under presidet trump we had less dependency on foreign oil and gas. and so we want to make sure that we don't increase that dependency on foreign oil and gas and increase under biden administration that's one of the greatest concerns right now not only since biden was sworn in have gas price gone up but what will it do and hit the pocketbooks of millions of americans along the east coast as well? >> you know, is enough being done to protect key infrastructure you know should symptoms that control pipelines

other major industry energy components across the country, should they even be hooked up to the internet should this be a vulnerability that we are exposed to? or is there some other way to manage this and this world that's really very interconnected? >> well there's no doubt and it doesn't matter what the industry is and the internet is here to stay. technology is continuing to develop and it is also why you see in private industry the need massive need for those who are skilled workers and cybersecurity and this is going to increase and be very important and something to focus on across the nation. molly: shifting gears also something that clearly affects your region your area, there's a rather startling jobs report that just came out really a massive gap in what was expected in what has been shown in the fast april jobs numbers just

266,000 jobs created. it added when the expectation was that it could be close to a million here we are in an era people are beginning to get the vaccine businesses are going reopen. the expectation it was that we were going see people get thing back to work. and a lot of businesses are now reporting that they're having trouble finding employees. that are ready to come back, and to some extent they blame these extended unemployment benefits the additional money coming in from the federal government, surplus funds, your thoughtings on these latest job numbers and also the theory that some of these businesses and employers have brought forward to say that this amount of money is hurting them and not helping them get back to business. >> it is, it was disturbing and it is significantly lower than economists expectations and those numbers were released yesterday. and guess what, it turns out when you pay millions of americans to stay home, they actually do. and this is an opportunity for

nancy pelosi and others in her corner to push a socialist agenda. they want the american worker, american people to be dependent on the federal government that's a terrible idea. and we're going see democrats from what i can tell on news reports double down on this and need nor stimulus and more checks and more federal unemployment to solve the problem. but when you talk to people, when you talk to real business owners particularly small business owners they're going to tell you exact opposite exactly what you said molly they're desperate to find employees all of the employers they're having trouble because these folks doangts want to come back to work. molly: very quickly, the governor montana announce this week state would withdraw from receiving some of that federal program money and south carolina following suit with plans to stop some of its federally funded unemployment benefits by the end of next month. do you support that move do you think that's the right way to go? >> absolutely support the move. based on my conversations with business owners and my district

and across the state of south carolina. and i applaud both governors for taking a leads on that. there are other states who i believe should follow. south carolina's unemployment rate has been hovering over 4% for many, many months now. and the reason that we've not ben able to lower it because federal government is incentivizing workers to stay home rather than go back to work. so this is a great first step to helping our economy push it forward to get through and get over the covid-19 pandemic. >> all right congresswoman nancy mace thank you so much for joining us for covering so much ground. we appreciate it. >> thank you. molly: rick to you. griff: officials in jerusalem bracing for more unrest after more than 200 palestinian hurt in a night of violence with israeli police trey is live in jerusalem with more right now. trey, what's happening there? reporter: good afternoon right

sprays the protesters you can see it right now. there it goes. and so off in the distance -- some of the protesters have started a fire in the middle of the road. all of this to give you a little bit of background about why these palestinians are here today they're upset ab series of events that have taken place in the region over the past several weeks during's the holy month of ramadan come with me here what happened earlier -- in ramadan last month was security forces blocked off the gate here at the damascus gate didn't allow people to sit part of a ramadan celebration. and then ultimately that led to rocket fire from gaza strip now a neighborhood near jerusalem where a palestinian family among many other families is going to be forcefully evicted from their

inside gaza is that there's ultimately going to be something that requires the response and that's a major concern for the israeli police and the israeli military as well. i do want to give you some new information here that we found out tonight israeli chief of staff has ordered the military to be prepared for an escalation in gaza. in the past we seen operations in gaza and we've seen days of fighting. i can give you an example of the back in november of 2019, israelis decided to use a targeted assassination to take out a tough islam pick jihad rocket commander after that happens, there were days and days of rongts being fired into israel. like off to the side here. police are going to try to clear gate and likely make some arrests. i'm going to show you take a second to -- these are israeli police.

we're standing and i want to show you video we shot from right here just a few hours ago. this was pretty remarkable this was a group of 26 venezuelan who decided to cross rio when the waters were a bit more shallow. they decided to risk it. they all walked across and they presented themselves and 26 they did have a couple of young children with them able to talk to one of the guys he said he was heading towards new york, new jersey area and he has family and he wanted to escape the local government in venezuela and local sheriff says here what happens is a lot of people end up crossing rio and you know sometimes they're from other countries they'll get picked up but human smugglers and taken further fin langsd and i want to show you this video out of san antonio if we can pull that up. this was recent in the city of san antonio, police pulled over a semitruck after they got some tips that there were people being held in the back of that truck. so police get there, and dozens of migrants ended up being in back of that semitruck department of homeland security gets on scene. they end up taking 41 in custody
