12:00 am
>> is green television news cre shotwell shooting a crime story. they were shoved, punched durin the incident by two men reportedly charged with crimina mischief and battery. police at your dvr site so you never miss an episode. we will always be independent and let not your heart be troubled laura come out what snippy remark do we get tonight? hit me on something. >>laura: i always think where there's laura: i always say where there is trouble and there's an altercation you need to go down there and straighten people out. we need to send you down there. we don't need more police, we need more hannity. >> you're welcome to your opinion, i'm going to step back and step away, please don't put
12:01 am
me in a position where i have to hurt you. i don't want to do it. laura: you said that to me and i backed up. >> i wouldn't turn your back but i back up. walk backwards. laura: we are walking forward. good to see you. i'm laura ingraham and this is the ingraham angle from washington, tonight the ingraham angle features a tale of two cities, our nation's capital in all its beauty versus a city in south florida plus could virginia's gubernatorial races this november prove to be a bellwether for republican resurgence nationwide. glenn youngkin is here, biden's shiny object is the focus of tonight's angle. i have always been fascinated by the possibility of what time travel would be like.
12:02 am
what would it be like to cross dimensions? >> are you telling me you build a time machine out of the delorean? >> the way i see it if you're going to build a time machine into a car why not do it with some style? >> precisely and now it is the official. it doesn't just happen in the movies or as biden calls them the talkies, his administration screwed up all the priorities and americans now in at least a dozen states on the eastern seaboard are feeling the pinch of gasoline, living like the wonder years of the mid-to-late 70s. >> all of us must learn to waste less energy. simply by keeping our thermostats for instance at 65 degrees in the daytime and 55 degrees at night we can save half the current shortage of
12:03 am
natural gas. of women to live through toby and remember the importance of helping our neighbors and we can find ways to adjust. laura: fast-forward to today and using the same problem. the colonial pipeline is back online but it will take several days for supplies to return to normal and even then biden's response to all of this has made us more vulnerable to future cyberattacks. >> were you briefed on whether the company paid the ransom? >> no comment on that, thank you. laura: no comment on that is what about the ransom? if they paid the ransom and we are more susceptible to future hacks, whatever, does it really matter? the energy secretary, if you drove up to the you wouldn't be racing around gas stations trying to fill up, paraphrasing.
12:04 am
the fact is it is painfully obvious that democrats and their media flunkies are totally disinterested in solving the problem facing middle america because if you drive less because gas is too high they hate the big suvs anyway and if you have fewer kids because the cost of living is so high, good. they hate big families. if the cost of guns is prohibitive and there's a shortage of ammo, good. they want to get the second amendment and if you are worried about more crime and less police, too bad. it is all the cops fault anyway, they are racist. it is not that the liberals don't have their priorities, they do and one of them, one of their tactics is to distract you with irrelevant side shows.
12:05 am
>> to be a leader in the republican party right now do you have to buy the lie? >> it is important for those of us who refused to do that to be willing to stand up. >> the republican rationalizations for demonizing her dissent are long path of paving to extremist for short-term political gain. >> this is a sad and dark moment. >> joan a standing up to the heretics. shannon: rather than governing as responsible adults, what biden promised us, the calm and responsible leadership, his party hope to skate over those problems by traveling back to january 6th. >> some republicans tried to rewrite the history of january 6th. >> is traumatic to watch the video. >> our republican friends are looking the other way, they want to sweep this under the rug. >> they know they were extremist groups that were part of that mob. >> this is the vision they want you to keep front and center.
12:06 am
they want you to fear mister furball and face paint more than the fact that your dollars worth less and less for the coming weeks and months. liberals and leadership, they may not be fretting about an increasingly volatile middle east but they are actively monitoring what matters. >> an infraction between marjorie taylor green to learn about what was done to the relationship here. >> a matter for the ethics committee. this is the niece the dignity of the person serving in the congress of the united states. it is a pause for trauma and fear among members especially on the heels of an insurrection. laura: i love the hand gesture. what they really fear is that her house of cards is about to
12:07 am
come tumbling down. everything that is happening with the economy they are worried all right. they want you to just wish all your money was away so when the troubling new data on inflation came out the washington post quickly sprang into action with this charge inflation even tamer after removing the effect of volatile gasoline and food prices, don't worry about that. it's only food and fuel, you don't spend money on that and jen psaki followed up with this. >> we've seen over the last couple days to your point some reaction to the cpi numbers that came out just yesterday. our view on that as it reflects the reality of an economy that is rapidly turning back on because of a successful economic strategy. >> a successful economic strategy. right now americans at all income levels have less money in their pockets and less freedom to move about and travel because this is the democrats plan all
12:08 am
along, the pipeline hack, their policies to clamp down on drilling and cancel the keystone pipeline, if you have to suffer because of those policies so be it. >> we are investing not only to reduce automobile usage but also investing in pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure if you want to reduce, really want to get the climate change -- >> dc's already a tangle of bike infrastructure by the way. they made traffic worse by cutting off access to black lives better plaza as well. we will get to it in a moment that they got what they wanted in dc. they got less traffic, along with less prosperity, less business activity, fewer
12:09 am
tourists, no one going back to their offices, it is great and liberal law the land. they have their priorities but they are sure not your priorities. but to be fair their priorities do include an infrastructure plan and it does involve building, all right but building a country that you don't recognize and you don't want to live in and that is the angle. joining me as byron donald and house minority whip steve scalise. this shiny object game of democrats focusing on january 6th, on aoc, marjorie taylor green, people can't find gasoline in major american cities and suburbs across the eastern seaboard. how is this making any sense?
12:10 am
>> what you are seeing is a group of people over their heads. all around the world it is on fire, israel under attack, lines at the gas pump, it is like the 70s, jimmy carter wouldn't want to be compared to this administration. inflation through the roof, lumber prices 400% up, many schools closed, kids can't get an education and president biden siding with teachers unions instead of children in america, millions who may never recover from what he is doing to them on every front, we are seeing a crisis at the border and this president is like he shows up for 2 hours, can't answer any questions and goes away and they hope they can throw shiny objects to distract the american people but people getting fed up are seeing this, very concerned about the socialist move by pelosi and biden. >> pelosi did make a pitch for this so-called infrastructure bill of biden's. watch. >> the country needs a strong
12:11 am
infrastructure package. it is an issue of clean-air, quality-of-life, for people to have more mass transit. >> he has the gall to say she wants people, quote, out of their cars as so many americans are suffering because of the gas shortage and plans for future gas shortages. >> she was busy getting her hair done when salons were in the state of california but americans want a couple things, they want to get back to work, they want their schools reopen, the economy restored. they don't want this green policy agenda, don't want these liberal crazy policies which opened up our southern border and created gas lines like the leader talked about.
12:12 am
let's be clear, their policies are disaster and they have to own it, that's why they want to distract us with a list of the doesn't matter to the american people. >> president biden wants the best of both worlds. he wants to take credit for operation warp speed and for the economy that was recovering under the last quarter when trump urged everybody to reopen, he wants to take credit for that but doesn't want to take any responsibility for what is happening so with -- in full spin mode today. watch. >> gone from stagnation to an economy that is growing faster than it has in nearly 40 years. we've gone from an anemic job creation to a record for job creation. all of this is the product of prompt action to rollout the vaccine and boost our economy. laura: we are on the verge of an inflationary spiral if they keep using stimulus when no stimulus is needed clearly. >> we are seeing a deficit of
12:13 am
reality in the biden administration. if you look on the vaccine front where president biden took the office, 3 vaccines, two approved, what about to be approved allowing 200 vaccinations in the arms of americans, president biden is talking about giving away not just the vaccine but the entire technology, the m rna technology for free to talk about the intellectual property, president biden will give it to china. he inherited the hottest economy we have ever seen, talking about raising taxes with middle-class jobs and today over 8 million job openings and president biden is paying people, borrowing from our kids to pay people not to work. that's why you have to wait in line to get a refrigerator to a new car. ashley: cnn tweeted something earlier today, speaker pelosi told him no, she isn't changing the rule requiring masks on the house floor.
12:14 am
they are vaccinated? quick response from both of you, should masks go on the floor of the house? >> -- most americans have been vaccinated. laura: what about you? >> in the president biden take his mask off at the state of the union address and wants everybody else to keep the mask on. return to sanity. look at states like florida are doing things right, have a lower death rate from covid than states like new york who shut everything down and keeping kids locked out of school and losing a generation. laura: i don't mean to interrupt what you're missing the point. what she wants to do is shame any member of congress who made a personal decision not to get the vaccine for whatever reason, that is what that it is about, not that any of your going to get covid. it is a shaming device so she is trying to shame anyone.
12:15 am
>> he wants to control the house, keep the public out of the people's house too. the american people are done with polish it ins, they want to see the government in action and working for them which is not happened in the last 6 months. laura: thank you so much, great to see both of you. in their quest to take a for the governor ron desantis, the whistleblower named rebecca jones, remember her, she alleged the conspiracy by desantis's administration to cover up the severity of covid. none of it was true. breaking news correspondent trace gallagher is live with the story. >> rebecca jones is not a doctor or epidemiologist or health expert. she is very tech savvy and is the former manager of florida's covid 19 program that tracks cases, hospitalizations and deaths. she is also a whistleblower who
12:16 am
alleged without evidence but florida had undercounted covid 19 deaths claiming her superiors instructed her to alter raw data so florida's covid response would look better and anything that might make florida ron desantis look bad is immediately embraced by the liberal media. watch. >> this is just a very thinly veiled attempt of the governor to intimidate scientists and get back at me while trying to get to my sources which he has been firing staff left and right. >> the "national review"'s charles cook's reported jones doesn't have the power to alter raw numbers quoting were discharged true it would reflect one of the most breathtaking political scandals in all of american history but it is not true, it is nonsense from start to finish and while jones couldn't manipulate the dashboard she did crash it and locked her supervisor out which got her fired and having her
12:17 am
home rated by police. jones says this about police quoting they pointed a gun in my face, they.guns at my kids, they claimed it was about a security breach, this was desantis, he sent the gestapo that as we show you body cam video does not show police pointing guns at anyone. rebecca jones has been charged with serious computer crimes. >> that story takes my breath away. unbelievable. the commonwealth of virginia has become ground 0 for battles between race baiting educators and concerned parents. one of those parents is here next. the poisonous curriculum factoring into the governor's race next year, this year, republican gubernatorial candidate glenn young can tells us in a moment. to meet the world's needs while creating a cleaner future for all. at chevron, we're lowering the carbon emissions intensity of our operations, investing in lower-carbon technologies,

12:23 am
one some schools reopen some parents had to contend with the obscene critical race theory that is poisoning their kids curriculum and now parents are learning of a new perversion. antiracist books laden with vulgar and sexually explicit content. parents were so disgusted by this they stormed a school board meeting and read aloud the filth being pushed on their kids. >> i kept dancing lost in the music until some boy pushed behind me holding my hips, looking to megan for help she nodded it is okay, it is cool, this is what girls do at parties. i kept dancing with the boy. i couldn't see, the alcohol making my waist move faster, if this is an appropriate for me to read to you, this is an appropriate for our children. laura: the woman you just saw, a
12:24 am
loudoun county parent, this is suggested reading for ninth graders? that is what we have for everybody tonight. >> there is a list of books that are part of the diversity library the teachers can that made this mandatory reading. laura: honors class? there's nothing honorable -- one of your fellow concerned parents read a passage from the book monday is not coming, here it is. >> me and monday, we did do something, he took a deep breath, i really didn't want it to happen. it just kind of do. laura: this is for 13 and 14-year-olds. >> it is disgusting. i wouldn't even want to read
12:25 am
this book myself and they are mandatory only telling children that for them to pass this class, they need to books. laura: loudoun parent reading and except from another book called hashtag murder trending, watch. >> casper wasn't even my boyfriend, just a dude i did some hacking with once in a while, pretty basic library system, not my league at all but sometimes a girl needs a big [bleep] >> i guess one of these books is actually mandatory but it is one of the offerings and if you said this in a professional setting it would because sexual harassment. they are trying to make some social commentary or talk about
12:26 am
abuse or choices kids have to make, but why is this appropriate in a school setting and how is this going to advance their knowledge about the great works of western civilization? >> it started when they took away dr. seuss, they said that he was racist and then they allowed the school board to approve these diverse books in our schools and they started with high school and parents found out about it but the day we spoke to the school board did you know they approved this diversity library for the middle schoolers so now what are we going to expect for the even younger students? >> it is going to get worse and worse do you all think it is time to not go to meetings that run them, run for school board, take the school boards over, the
12:27 am
left is doing this, critical race. the like? >> we have different avenues. we tried to have a townhall so you can tell us exactly what is going on with our children, we tried -- the new strategy is we are recalling 6 of the school board members, we refuse to accept this kind of behavior, this past saturday we collected 1700 signatures so we are going to continue to collect signatures and recall 6 of the school board members. >> that is progress. we will stay on this. the issue of education gives the virginia gop an incredible opening and whether state gubernatorial election just months away we wanted to know how the republican nominee plans to address it. republican candidate for virginia governor, good to see you tonight. how big of an issue will this be for your campaign given how accelerated this radicalism has become in our school in northern virginia and how will you handle it for the next 6 months?
12:28 am
moment in our education system in virginia. mcauliffe north from dynasty has been dismantling virginia schools and thank goodness for parents. they are the last line of defense and we don't see anyone standing up from the mccullough northrup administration trying to help them. they are the ones doing the dismantling. you can just add to this list expectations that accelerated math won't be taught anymore through eleventh grade, they are going to try to stop awarding advanced diplomas, the fourth of july and pledge of allegiance out of the list of things that bind us. this is just part of the agenda of the liberal left led by tara mcauliffe and ralph northrom and thank goodness for parents. pushing back, can't get there for 7 months.
12:29 am
>> terry mcauliffe who was governor before is not serving now but i see what you're doing, he attacked you on twitter this week, no surprise saying here is the true -- extreme republicans want nothing more than to roll back the progress we made the past 8 years. they are only interested in culture wars and division. you want to go back to the 1950s and you want the culture wars and you're not going to talk about economics or any of these issues, is that what your campaign is? >> what i find most amazing is here's terry talking about culture wars when in fact they support a school system that is teaching the most divisive curriculum of political agenda and critical race theory and all they want to do is talk about trying to pin us against a wall based on trying to do the right
12:30 am
thing for families, for our kids, they are the ones trying to fight the culture war and our kids, sadly are the ones getting hurt. >> why does this race matter? people watching all over the country, in virginia it is a democrat state and they are not going to win that but why does this matter in an off election year and remember what happened in 2009. >> this is the year for virginians to stand up and say no more. the left liberal agenda in washington, richmond for the last two years and i've seen this groundswell of support where this isn't about republicans versus democrats, this is virginians against the left liberal policies that put virginia in the ditch and virginians are suffering as a result. education is the top issue along with getting our economy open and moving and the democrats led by terry mccullough are on the wrong side of this issue once
12:31 am
again, not republicans versus democrat, this is virginians against left liberal policies. laura: the reason this matters is if you can win in the commonwealth of virginia as democrat as it has become, if you can win in the state then that is a bellwether for what happened in 2022. it will be a white out for the republicans against the democrats. it often is when the republican is able to win in an off year election. it happened in 2009 but great to see you tonight and we appreciate your being here, thanks so much. what does lockdown versus liberty look like in visuals. we took a tour of dc today, a city full of boarded-up businesses, homeless and cabins, drug abusers on the streets,
12:32 am
this is feet from the seat of power even with the offenses of the wire all around it, compare that to where fox's lisa booth is in miami, florida, the two sides of the covid coin next. >> if you can see i am standing outside the cleveland south beach. it is happening, so many people out and about, people eating, listening to music, it is likely, people walking the streets, florida is wide open for business.
12:37 am
>> homeless in canada to become commonplace in the nations capital. tents are packed into a patch of grass less than when you go, myself are struggling local businesses, doesn't seem to bother lawmakers who walked past 10 cities every day as they head to work across the street. laura: like many democrat-controlled areas of the country washington dc is a city in squalor. before the pandemic it was bustling with business interests, now it is a shell of
12:38 am
its former self. you have to see the decline to believe it so we dispatched one of our producers to document the dk. >> reporter: this used to be a hub for dc nightlife, the most popular bars and restaurants in the district. after more than a year of strict covid protocols, the one side prince neighborhood is a dead zone. passing restrictions for all bars and nightclubs in june and the looks of these boarded-up buildings, the damage is already done. >> you don't understand what we suffered through in these situations, running a business is a difficult thing. making the rent and everything else. >> reporter: anthony harris is the owner and iconic bar blocks from capitol hill. he's been in the business for 53 years. >> very difficult for us with the price of doing business the
12:39 am
overhead has gotten higher, inflation sitting on food prices, it is difficult for us. 25% seating. in this business 25% doesn't cut it. local governments will increase the percentages to fullbore eventually the 21st of this month. >> he was that it happen sooner? >> we are hanging on by friends. at this point in my life i don't want to invest a lot more money, how my going to live the rest of my life? >> reporter: this is the hardest year we've ever had here, it is hard to keep the motivation to stay open. >> reporter: two doors down a dc staple, manager casey says it is tough to stay afloat. >> the biggest struggle is staffing, we've got interviews, people come in, 50% show up who are interested in the job. a lot of those people who used to work in a restaurant industry are pursuing different careers. >> what is also hurting businesses in washington dc is
12:40 am
lack of tourism. it went down significantly during covid with some experts estimate it will take years to recover. >> the restrictions the word here before, you fuel almost like you are doing something wrong if you're coming up here like everything is closed, the museums, people come to the museums and there are no museums, a lot less people, less restaurants open, it feels more shutdown. before i left san francisco we went out to wheat inside restaurant so lots of people are vaccinated back home. i'm sure they are here too but it feels more shutdown indoors. >> is a different than you anticipated? >> for sure. i've been here. >> what you recommend friends and family members visit dc right now? >> know. i would tell them to wait. >> let's compare that bleak picture to what life was like in free american cities. we go live to south beach in miami, florida where lisa booth is standing by.
12:41 am
it is absolutely a lively night out there tonight, tell us what you found, what you are experiencing? >> i'm so lucky to live here, the complete opposite of what we just heard, bars, restaurants, nightclubs all open for business. don't know if you can hear the music is blaring next to me, people walking up and down, talking to folks who came from across the country many from cities and states that are more locked down and they came for that little taste of freedom they are not getting back home. watch this. >> a more free environment. >> feels like 100% right now. feel so good to be out. no masks at all. everywhere feels safe and it feels good to be back to normal. that is how it should be.
12:42 am
it is really amazing how the world shutdown just like that. >> everything would go to -- >> a whole year already. we've been doing this for so long i feel like how is it not done yet? >> it feels good. glad everything is getting back to open and people and have fun again. >> are you glad you are visiting here versus a place like dc or back in new york? >> part of the reason we came here is everything is open. >> you feel free in florida right now? >> absolute we. >> are you glad you are in florida? >> yes. so much more free out here. >> as you heard so many people from california, new york and chicago talking about how things are not the same, life is not been the same. it is wide open, free, so many people living their life.
12:43 am
>> you forget when you live in a place like dc like i live you forget what the rest of the country is like. you can forget freedom if you don't fight to reclaim it you get used to -- 72% of the country says they are still going to socially distance even when they get the vaccine at least for 6 months according to the recent poll. i read that is almost fell over. >> reporter: you can get on a plane but take off your mask when eating or drinking. a lot of these rules and regulations don't make sense. people are ready to live their lives again. it felt so different, so dreary, people seems depressed. here they are happy and living life, enjoying life because life is meant to be lived. >> thanks for that hard assignment with all the fun people. laura: thanks so much.
12:44 am
the mask issue the cdc's big announcement today was heralded by biden is a big win, what scientists -- wasn't clear months ago and for many of us a year ago why doesn't go far enough? doctor j will answer those questions. our retirement plan with voya, keeps us moving forward. hey, kevin! hey, guys! they have customized solutions to help our family's special needs... hey, graduation selfie! well done! and voya stays by our side, keeping us on track for retirement... ...giving us confidence in our future... ...and in kevin's. you ready for your first day on the job? i was born ready. go get 'em, kev. well planned. well invested. well protected. voya. be confident to and through retirement.
12:49 am
19 biden and the pools in the media want you to think it is somehow a huge victory of the cdc is saying if you are vaccinated you can drop your mask but here is my question. has the science changed in the last month? of course it hasn't. a couple days ago fauci was spewing his usual nonsense. >> people have gotten used to the fact that wearing masks if you look at the data diminishes respiratory diseases. we've had practically nonexistent loose season this year merely because people were doing the kinds of public health things directed predominantly against covid 19. laura: here's what the cdc's own
12:50 am
research says, cdc is not aware of any randomized controlled trial that shows the masks or double masks or cloth face coverings are effective against covid 19. that was in response to a foia request of the cdc. joining me now, stanford university professor of medicine, this mask thing has been a charade from almost day one. fauci was right the first time he said make people feel a little better around the edges but that wasn't going to be a key tool in ending the pandemic. what about the new announcement today? >> reporter: it is a good first step but i don't know why it has taken this long. they should have told people they didn't need masks to begin with.
12:51 am
as a result, created vaccine hesitancy, signals through their behavior and words that the vaccines don't work. i hope states and businesses take it to heart and get rid of that, very little good to slow the spread of the disease. laura: kids under the age of 10 never had to wear masks, sweden never mandated masks, texas dropped their mask mandate and didn't see an increase in cases, south dakota never had a mask mandate. the mask mandate showed no difference in the transmission but fauci still thinks the kids should not really be able to enjoy life and ask. >> what is your message to parents who are thinking i am vaccinated, my kids are not but the odds the virus are very low, would you tell them know, kids still need to wear a mask? >> the children when they are
12:52 am
out playing with their friends particularly in an indoor situation. laura: is there any real scientific proof that supports fauci's recommendation that kids should still be in masks? >> know there is not. kids spread the disease very inefficiently, thank god for that. we don't understand -- lots of scientific evidence to back that up and you have to balance potential benefits of which they are very low that harms kids. that harm their emotional and social development. it does not make sense to mask children. and they take their masks off as a result. the problem is in public health messaging when you go outside what science is saying you are confusing orders people stop
12:53 am
trusting public health. laura: when people say the cdc says it is not exactly considered the housekeeping seal of approval anymore. there is a medical analyst at cnn who thinks that vaccinated people not wearing masks is somehow extremist. >> i was shocked by this announcement. it went from one extreme to another and the major step that is missing is how do we know people are telling the truth? who is checking to see if others are also vaccinated? what does that mean? if i bring my son who is not fully vaccinated to the grocery store potentially exposing people who are not vaccinated who could be a danger to him? laura: she wants vaccine monitoring, check credentials before you can move in this country.
12:54 am
>> bad public health, children are incredibly low risk for bad outcomes, more children died of the flu last year than died of covid. i don't understand the thinking. if you are an adult, haven't had covid before, get vaccinated and you don't have to worry about people around you getting vaccinated or not. if your child is not at high risk don't spread fear to your children where it doesn't belong. laura: great to see you, thank you. mayor pete gets taken to school, how cute, the last bite next. to meet the world's needs while creating a cleaner future for all. at chevron, we're lowering the carbon emissions intensity of our operations, investing in lower-carbon technologies, and exploring renewable fuels of the future. we work hard to care for the homes we love. but it's only human... to protect the one we share.
12:59 am
1:00 am
know you need those robes to drive to free collagen free job care organized around -- >> to make that jump, everything under the sun is infrastructure we should spend $100 trillion and give everything, every one -- the bill is paid for by >> what a lightweight, gutfeld takes off from here. >> reporter: friday may 14th, oh 7 season for hackers? and report the colonial pipeline paid a $5 million ransom to get his system back online, that could send the wrong signal to our enemies. >> the end inside, the cdc says fully vaccinated americans can ditch the masks but not all blue states are on board yet. >> you say free prize when you get vaccinated.
