important to bring them on tonight to see what he thinks of his former publications specifically targeting these 5 individuals. there are a lot of deficiencies and misreporting in this piece but there is something more worrisome here and that is why they chose to publish this. is this an attempt to chill independent reporting? >> it is two things. first of all when i was at the intercept, i follow both of their reporting because there's very little of it as they said about antifa and black lives matter of the writing and damage they do because big media outlets are petrified to report of it because they will be accused by their own journalists of being racists or fascists or sympathizers to white nationalism, the intercept steps in for two reasons. number one antifa regularly attacks journalists, physically assault them. they formed the press freedom

group with several people and tracked it, antifa constantly attacks violently journalists who cover their riots. this is an attempt to put jorge and julio in particular to incite and encourage antifa to attack them so they can no longer do their job safely. the other aspect of it is digital outlets, millennial digital liberal outlets like the intercept, so many of them think that if you are a conservative you are not really a journalist, that your part of the crypto fascist movement, you are the enemy and so they don't regard julio and jorge is journalists even though they are doing better journalism than the intercept, they see them as the enemy which is why they did this article dragging their faces into the light in order to endanger them. >> robert mackey from the intercept gave up the game.
