todd: overnight heavy rain and lightning, flash flood watches, severe weather outbreaks with several tornadoes across the lone star state. jillian: parts of louisiana seeing catastrophic flooding, 56,000 people without power in louisiana and texas. janice dean joins us with the latest forecast. it has been busy. >> janice: several days of heavy rainfall across the gulf coast including our friends in texas and louisiana. it doesn't take a hurricane or tropical system to bring incredible amounts of rain in a short time.

lake charles over 6 inches of rainfall in a couple hours so this is going to be an ongoing situation throughout the day today and the next couple days. you can see where we had hail and wind reports over texas and heavy rainfall is going to lead to flash flooding throughout the day today, you can see on the border of texas and louisiana where we had the heaviest rainfall and flash flood warnings from victoria, texas towards tyler, texas and houston in line for several inches of rain over the next couple days. there is the forecast radar, this area of low pressure lingering on the gulf coast. we've seen this situation before and flooding is going to be a huge concern through friday and saturday around the houston area which is not great news. we will keep you up to date but people need to be on alert for

the jury was selected, 8 women and 7 men they were told there would be graphic images shown of stab wounds of molly tibbetts, they want to be prepared for that. christian rivera is an illegal immigrant in the us and mexico, stamp tibbetts to death and dumped her body in a cornfield. tibbetts went missing after she went for a ride and didn't show up in her hometown of brooklyn, iowa. they have 18 witnesses who could testify at the trial could go for two weeks. they say it will not take that long. the trial date has been changed due to covid but also supposed to be in brooklyn, iowa, 100 miles away from here where she was killed but because of the pretrial and how much attention it gained, they moved it to hear and the opening statements started 8:30, bringing you update to everything.

goodness. so this movement to attempt to retire his jersey league wide admiration. ambassador of the national football league. so my hope is they say like a person is never dead until their name is spoken for the last time. so if his goal is reached. have his number 40 hanging in every stadium league wide. whether it's next year, 10 years, 20 years down the line somebody walks in a stadium they will see that jersey hanging and his story will have to be told. jillian: give me chills. todd: what do you make of the support so far? >> i mean, it's been great. it's been a lot. people have reacted a lot more positively than i thought. i mean, of course, fox news has wrote up the article which has made it go semiviral on the internet. as of this morning right about 8,000 signatures two days ago 1500. seven days in since the petition has launched. 8,000. looking at about a thousand

signatures day. so, you know, a positive reaction so far. jillian: i know that you have not yet heard from the nfl of course i know you would like. to say so, if you do, please make sure you keep us updated. in the mean time i want to hearr story and how you were so inspired by pat tillman and his service. >> myself and many others were inspired by his story and selflessness and dedication to country. i mean, he was one of the deciding factors when i left fox in 2018 and decided to enlist as well. my father, john mikey wilson was a new york city firefighter. and my uncle, lieutenant jerrod roddie mcgiven who passed away earlier this year due to the 9/11 cancer. kind of service to city and service to country is something pat inspires and kind of a moral i lean on as well, too. todd: in the 30 seconds we have remaining, how far would this go in restoring the nfl in the
