i'm laura ingraham. after a 2-month hiatus from the white house covid advisor scott atlas is back and he will respond to all the backtracking and sidestepping over the past few weeks. but first the coming climate lockdown is the focus of tonight's angle. for many years now democrats have realized that the only way to turn their radical plans into a realities to take more power and money from the american people and give it to washington. they want control over almost every aspect of your life. >> we can't drive our suvs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times. laura: he said that in 2008 and
12:02 am
all these years later we see obama's as carrying on. >> in the same way we tax cigarettes we have to tax carbon. we have to take combustion engine vehicles off the road as rapidly as we can. laura: you support changing dietary guidelines. >> i would. laura: the left believes that america isn't an exceptional -- it is systemically racist and that means we shouldn't be any better off than the rest of the world so they sign opening when the global economy due to covid created last year because of the lockdowns, closures and reduced demand carbon emissions fell by 2.6 billion metric tons which was a 7% drop from the year prior. climate change activists who ignored or dismissed the human suffering caused by these brazilian rules were positively giddy.
12:03 am
>> it is an opportunity. we can see a ray of hope in the form of the vaccine but there is no vaccine for the planet. nature needs a bailout. >> don't want to go back to the status quo that you had before simply because it was the status quo that got us here. >> capitalism as we know it is dead. this obsession we have had with maximizing profits for shareholders has led to incredible inequality is a planetary emergency. laura: kids were harmed from the cancellation of in person learning and athletics was not relevant given the left's larger long-term goal of reducing america's carbon footprint. they saw covid as an opportunity to advance the interests of the global climate bureaucracy. the pet media marvel about the environmental benefits of lockdowns ignoring human suffering. >> if there's a silver limes

this crisis it is visible above china. >> all this action has proven to be quite good for mother earth. >> the solution brought by lockdowns may have been shining an impact. wild animals are roaming city streets. laura: the longer you were behind closed doors not going to church, traveling to see family of the happier those people were. having a free country means individuals are making their own risk assessments according to their own risk profile. they that. they much prefer to order you around or if that is not possible to frighten you into abandoning your own common sense. so covid fear mongering suburban women double masks on running

12:06 am
warp speed yet now we see the usual suspects lining up to exploit another type of crisis, talking about climate change. the end goal is the same. they want more of your money and freedom. and if they have to take extreme measures to accomplish this they will unless we are ready for them so if we apply lessons learned in our battle against the covid lockdowns i am confident we can stop them, we can win this. if you think forces propping biden are not thinking of declaring a climate emergency of some form during his first term you have been paying close attention. a report released yesterday by the international energy agency gave us a sneak preview of what might be coming in the lockdowns gave him the perfect roadmap for how to exert control over the population. don't take my word for it, they admit this was the coven crisis demonstrated people can make behavioral changes at significant speed if they understand the changes to be justified. now, will we be ordered to stay
12:07 am
home because of the climate? perhaps not. the left is rarely that straightforward but even without government stay-at-home orders there are a lot of ways for the left to lock you don't like gasoline shortages, skyrocketing fuel prices, phaseout of gas powered cars to name a few. the ie a a's bucket list climate controls includes carbon taxes, fuel taxes, limiting your travel, reducing speed limits, phasing out gas powered cars and many more agenda items, doesn't that sound grand. san francisco among other cities is seriously considering implementing congestion pricing with fees as high as $14 for every car entering the city. in new york and dc are already squeezing cars out by expanding

bikes and pedestrian lanes. hawaii have already declared a climate emergency is only pressuring biden to declare one on a national scale. aoc and bernie sanders introduced legislation back in february to do just that but we cannot let the politicians and bureaucrats abuse their authority again. no more never-ending state of emergency, no more executive orders to show businesses, if governors or mayors want more authority than they should act for the voters to approve that, pass the law the old-fashioned way through the state legislature. pennsylvania voters offer a blueprint for stopping future abuses of emergency orders by governors who enjoyed exerting their unchecked authority to shutter schools and businesses.

champion so fauci and powers are getting close to the recommendations my next guest doctor scott atlas was suggesting and vilified for a year ago. good to see you. welcome back. it has been a while. your thoughts about the fauci 2 step he has been doing, let's start with the mask guidance. >> thanks. the main thing we can see from the mask saga is the damage that was done to the american psyche. even if you disregard all the desolation and mask mandate recommendations or mask wearing recommendations, even if you disregard all the evidence which many people like to disregard all the evidence you can see when the cdc says you don't need a mask people are very worried,
12:15 am
going against their own guideline which was always what the cdc said, there's a tremendously damaged fearful public, nowhere more fearful than where i live which is in california where when the cdc says as we've known for years that cases are not commonly spread outdoors, when doctor fauci said three weeks ago we've known this the whole time that cases do not transmit outside yet we have people clamoring for tasks and we see people telling children to wear masks outside at summer camp. the damage is the inconsistency and therefore tremendous need for psychiatric help for some people. laura: doctor fauci wants people to know they can't take their masks off. >> removal of the mask mandate
12:16 am
for everyone, it is an assurance to those who are vaccinated that they can feel safe be they outdoors or indoors, it is does not expressly say unvaccinated people should abandon their masks. laura: utah just passed a law that you cannot mandate the kids wear masks to school but we have new jersey and maryland, virginia, kids wearing masks in schools and other states as well. >> i could say it this way. if you want to look at the data, and unvaccinated child is safe for vaccinated 85-year-old. there is a denial of the science. it is not about the science. it is about denying the science and the data and the science has
12:17 am
said for over a year that young children have an extremely low risk of anything serious, particularly nearly 0 risk of death. there is a distortion here, parents need to think things through, talk with the doctor and make intelligent decisions because the experts are really saying almost nonsense at this point. laura: even your doctor is confused by the cdc's guidance. whether it was you or any of these other, doctor smith, all these doctors we have had on for the past 14 or 15 months were so far ahead of all the so-called experts on every issue from masks to social distancing to the lockdowns, the schools, even the variants what is going on
12:18 am
here? why are these experts so wrong so consistently? >> they are consistently inconsistent. people have asked and it is a good question to do you rely on? the experts have been proven to be non-experts and pseudo-scientists really and one way that americans can do things besides the obvious which is educate yourself as much as possible is to look at people who have been consistent. when you people go from one extreme to the other and all over the map on these things they are exposed as being non-objective, non-science-based. it is a lie to keep saying
12:19 am
things have changed dramatically in the data. that is not true. these things have been known for a year, for a solid year. what has changed, and this is a great thing, people who are vulnerable have been vaccinated and we see 85% of americans over 65 have had one dose and we assumed -- that is great. consistency and judgment. laura: here is the problem. now we have the push for 5-year-olds to 11-year-olds, the next tranche of people who can get vaccinated in the next 2 weeks or so. parents are going to face a tough decision in some cases in the fall, some schools will require the children be vaccinated for covid. your thoughts very briefly on that. should parents have a child as young as 5 vaccinated against the disease that they for the most part have no symptoms or don't suffer from? >> high risk children exist and probably should be vaccinated.
12:20 am
regular kid that is healthy has nearly 0 risk of death and extremely low risk of serious illness. you have to wonder about a doctor who would recommend the vaccine for that. i really wonder about a parent who would really do that. i'm sorry to say fear is one thing and fear is very powerful but at some point you have to get over the fear and think things through. i would say insult your doctor, teach yourself and make your own decision. laura: thanks for coming back. speaking of covid theater, congressman mark brian mass refuse to wear a mask on the house for yesterday was be rated for standing with the science. he's here to tell us what happened and what is next.
