hello, everyone, kristin anderson and welcome to the big saturday show. here's what's on tap tonight. >> tim tebow is coming back to the nfl but the deal is white privilege. >> the community are members of congress the chicago mayor, days after she refused to give interviews to white reporters. >> the new york times, on my

they need the help and i am committed to get that done so i don't, and i think my party still supports israel. >> democrats like congresswoman don't appear to support israel after the recent violence. listen. >> we condemn hamas' firing of rockets but you have to look at what prompted even that behavior. i think there was continuing annexation israel has been undertaking, for years, actually. this has been a pattern of action from israel that has taken away the idea of a two state solution. we have to put more responsibility on israel maintaining peace.
2:03 pm
>> even though there's cease-fire between israel and hamas, there is a rise of anti-semitic attacks in the u.s. earlier on fox and friends, israel's ambassador to the u.s. called on all american leaders to condemn it. >> it's not israel's problems or the jewish problem, the worldwide phenomena, it's an american phenomena. it's a form of racism, they expect everyone to condemn it and demand the administration to take all necessary steps to make the perpetrators for what they are doing now for the american society. >> a few seconds ago you heard president biden say the democratic party supports israel still while the progressive wing of the democratic party does not support israel and that is growing. they don't want to just adjust relationship with israel, they want to blow up the relationship altogether. >> they actually do.
2:04 pm
unfortunately congresswoman is lying when she says this is motivated by israel's activity. in reality, the motivation is entirely through what iran wants to achieve in the middle east. they see the advantage for the first time in four years to return things to where they were in 2015 when they got the jc poa, they had money flowing in from all around the world, they had feeling they had the wind on their back and elsewhere. over the last four years, president trump's administration put the book on their neck, they clamped down on them in different ways, israel was allowed to attack. iran was at a disadvantage. now the administration, without a particular relationship with israel, they want to take advantage which is why you see this happening, nothing to do with anything israel has done recently, it's all what iran

wants to achieve which is why we should be so angry and skeptical about anyone who's criticizing israel's activity the last couple weeks. >> you talk about criticizing the activity, that's a fair assessment then says, we listen to these lawmakers and feel you are being lectured by people who are not doing their homework. i want this played from 2018, this is alexandria ocasio-cortez talking about the issue. >> i also think what people are starting to see, at least in the occupation of palestine, and increasing crisis of the humanitarian condition and that to me is where i tend to come from on this. you used the term occupation of palestine, what you mean? >> oh, i think i meant is the settlement increasing in these areas. >> you think you can expound on that? >> i am not the expert on this
2:06 pm
issue. >> not be expert, that's the whole thing. they out a rational, reasonable response and i'm listening but you know, there you go. >> i think this is a problem on the democratic side because there's not a clear answer for what democrats policy or position on the middle eastern israel is. republicans tend to be unified saying we stand with israel, israel's right to exist and defend itself against attacks but for democrats there's a lot of division and more democrats, who do you sympathize with who's responsible in this conflict? a lot of them say equally both but more israel than hamas on the democratic side. i think that's part of why you see some democrats struggling with on the one hand, how do you take a position as you should to say we need to push back against
2:07 pm
anti-semitism, this is wrong here while acknowledging a large part of your base doesn't want to allow israeli flags out of pride rally. there are problems with the progressive left not embracing israel's right to exist that makes it challenging for democrats on this. >> talking about the left, education, racial, new york being under fire, i want to put this headline up. new york under fire for staff to support palestinians and it goes on to say you can take action today by protesting attending a vigil, making public commitment, signing a petition or calling your government officials to place sanctions on israel. the time is now. impacted by state and violence and crimes against the humanity of the most vulnerable in our world and we saw critical race theory, without that was the only thing parents were worried about. >> these are the same people gas

you look at this and think, can you imagine the opposite scenario? it would be wall-to-wall coverage on every media outlet in the country and get this has gotten a small amount of coverage in the mainstream media. your thoughts? >> for the past five years, the corporate propaganda address tried to send a message to america that anti-semitism was entirely a preacher of the right, somewhat by the most pro-israel administration we've had in washington for decades. this was always fiction but also took people's eye off the ball when it came to anticipating or recognizing the rise in anti-semitism on the left, not just by people on the ground but by people who now hold the heights of power in congress and elsewhere, a terrible thing. it needs to be rejected, stamp out and called out for what it

interesting to me, former congresswoman chelsea be blatant about what this represented calling for the mayor resignation in a tweet that said mayor anti- racism is important. other leaders of our country of all races to join me in calling on her resignation, our leaders must condemn all racism acquitting and like white. it seems it's just a dodge and another example of how so many progressives when they run into political problems, things that are destroying their ability to lead or hampering them, they turned to identity politics to distract from what is really going on in their communities or under their leadership to say no, you're still on my side regardless of these bad things happening in your community, what did you think? >> i think the national journalist put it best when they put out a lengthy statement

saying we believe there needs to be more diversity in the media but this is not the way to go about it. we cannot support any policies systematically including certain journalists from being able to ask questions of elected leaders so if you have an attempt to try to do something in the name of social justice and equality, doing something with the black journalist says you missed the mark, maybe consider for a moment you missed the mark. in chicago they continue a very long history of progressive's money big cities in the u.s. and not running them well and yet it continues in these big cities they're still not really enough money to him to actually elect someone who can bring about change. so many of these cities run by big unions with tons of influence, it's hard to bring about change but it's worse when you have leaders who are ineffective in pushing your back against special interests and

when so much else is going on. look at the numbers, rachel used numbers of 2021 so far, look at the numbers of deaths in 2020, 875 people shot and killed, mostly shot and killed in chicago and 78% of the victims were black and we say this all the time, there were no protests or black lives matter's rallies for anyone of these deaths and many of them were children. the idea that the mayor of d.c. last week said i think she was making good.but she wasn't because she's not just excluding and ignoring white reporters in chicago, she is denigrating them and said i don't have time, what they are reporting on his racist and i don't have time to correct them. it's too heavy a burden to bear on top of all the other massive challenges our city faces in this moment, you have to take on

ben shapiro said it's easy for me as a journalist stating facts and not opinions, ben shapiro said equality in the understanding means simple and easy to implement, protection of rights of all individuals along with invasion of none of those rights, equity means something different, equity in the common political parliament means each group should receive the same outcome as every other group but it's the article itself that has problems. look at this whole thing rained from a leftist perspective. the top line says the racial divisiveness that president donald j trump stoped over the last four years in the white house, there are examples, there's no evidence, it's just supposed to be believed and later in the article he says a dairy farmer is racist because organized counter black lives matter's demonstrations. zero context, why was this guy
