"fox news primetime" hosted this week by lawrence jones start right now. hey, lawrence. >> lawrence: bret, that's three extra seconds for me. >> bret: that's right. there you go. >> lawrence: good evening and welcome to "fox news primetime." ♪ ♪ >> lawrence: thank you so much for joining me and i'm lawrence jones. what a difference a year makes. tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of the death of george floyd. american companies did their best to prove how committed they were to diversity and social justice. companies promising money left and right after floyd's death. $50 billion in fact was pledged to advancing racial equity in this country. that's billion with a b. some of it was supposed to be donated to civil rights

organizations. invested in communities of color, or put to a reimagining hiring practices at major corporations. and now a year later, how much do you think was actually spent? take a minute and guess? 80%? about 50? 25? what about if i told you that only half of 1%, $250 million was actually spent by these companies in support of black lives. i bet you will think their holier than thou pledges of. black communities and organizations were never going to get the support they were promised. but you would be exactly right. the one group that manage did get a whole boat load of cash was black lives matter. they pulled in more than $90 million last year. but only managed to spend a quarter of it on charitable causes. they have been so shady with the money begged the group to stop

profiting off her son's death that probably explains why, according to the "new york times," look at this, public support of black lives matter has cratered since june 20th. what a difference a year makes. joining me now to discuss is founder of black guns matter. maj, you always tell it like it is. so why is the support dropping? >> the support is dropping because the people are following the money. a bunch of the money, darren seales told us before he was murdered black lives matter incorporated is a sham organization designed specifically to fleece the black community, has nothing to do with improving the conditions of black america and ops. period. >> lawrence: maj, the organization, and people on the street calls for justice. you have the organization all

the dough making all these promises because they were pressured toe do so. when it came down to the nitty gritty, the community didn't see a lot of that the question is will there be bicycles for corporations or will there be pressure to pay up because i want to see the dough. >> yeah. i don't want the boycott. the black community wants the money. you said that mope was supposed to be for our community. you said it you plastered the black lives matter -- let me go back a second. yes, we know that black lives matter as a reality. obviously. right? and some people in america want to pretend like that wasn't the case. i want to make that clear distinction between the people doing legitimate community work and the inc. that funneled. this was a money laundering scheme. if i as black guns matter we raised and gave away over the last four years we do work in firearms safety and suicide prevention and conflict resolution in black communities for the last four years.

we have raised $410,000 give or take and i have been very transparent with the money. can you imagine if i'm at conservative tables, can you imagine had you they would have crucified me if i only spent a quarter of that $400,000, a quarter, 25% of it on the stated purpose? no, it was a money laundering scheme and a whole bunch of that money, don't want to get anybody in trouble but, yes, i do. a whole bunch of that money was funneled to the democratic party and joe biden and his team's whole scenario. that's where the money is at. follow the paper. that's why the plummet has happened amongst the black community. you see it. >> lawrence: you got that aspect. then you have the other aspect of them saying, look, we are going to hire more black folks in those communities. we're going to put more jobs, businesses there, do the work, you know, not just crops. we are going to put big business in these communities and we are going to make sure that we are going to hire black people. that didn't happen either. >> this from the same group of

people that paid to destroy the businesses in them same communities. my community. they busted a gang of people that wasn't from there incorporated. not the people that lived there we have seen scores of people over the last year stopping people from doing things in communities saying hey, you don't live here, we are here about a peaceful assembly. we are here about a peaceful protest. people getting bussed in with a lot of money that came from somewhere that destroyed those businesses in the first place. this is a let me create the problem. let me present a solution so you don't run to me as your savior, black lives matter incorporated. not the people not the rank and file people doing the work. black lives matter incorporated is a money laundering scheme and they better get that brand right. >> lawrence: here's the rub. the community knows this. the community has been going after black lives matter for a while. we are -- we are not supporting

the organization. we want equal justice under the law. the community knows. this they have been pushing back against that name after name. breonna taylor and that mere rice's family. they have been very vocal about this. the question is who is giving the money to these groups? are they white liberal? black america is already having the conversation. so who is trying to feel good? >> the honorable shall al-shabaab malcolm x said the white liberal is the most dangerous thing to the black american ever. white liberals are behind and funding this antifamily, antinuclear family unit, anti-strong father in the household movement that has been morphed into something that has been very detrimental for our community. if you want to tell me that, you know, hey, we're going to be helping you but we have to control all of the money, we have to funnel it through act blue. i question you, the money will

make a man change gods. if we keep follow that money we will see all of the white liberals and a sprinkling of some of the black folks that bought million dollars homes off some of that bread we are going to see that that ain't for the hood no more. if you want to support something support black guns matter. we actually do what we say we are going to do with the up andu do, too. i'm so glad that you joined the program today. hopefully you will come back again. thanks, brother. >> absolutely. see you soon. >> lawrence: also here tonight tennessee congressional candidate quincy mcknight, you have a beautiful story. i want to get your reaction to maj's interview and what's happening on the ground with black america. i want the audience to hear your story because i think it's a powerful one. first, your reaction to the companies not paying up as they say they were.

>> thank you for having me, lawrence. >> lawrence: you bet. what's your reaction towards the companies that aren't paying up? >> it's very clear. as a business owner in tennessee, as a minority business owner, it is very apparent that black lives matter, they know exactly what they were doing. they set out to do from the very beginning. people were just asleep. they didn't realize what they were doing. and as my colleagues and around the country that i talk with different business owners, black and white, they are very frustrated right now with blm because i know some business owners that did contribute to their fundings. and now they are feeling like literally fools out here donating to a cause that wasn't even nowhere near true to its name. i mean. >> lawrence: they should feel like it because the proper research wasn't done. the community has been begging

for them to focus on them. and they decided to focus on these big corporations. now, sir, you were adopted. and you have a beautiful story. can you tell our audience that story? >> sure. real briefly because i know we are on the air. i had a brief conversation later in life with my mother but one day was my mother -- my birth mom was actually coming out of a dry cleaners one day and she actually was crying and having a -- of a morning, walked past a black elderly gentleman and he asked if he could pray for her is and she was like yes. so he prayed for her. they went on their way. she was crying and went back in her car. she was telling me the story. she was crying because she was on her way to the abortion clinic getting ready to abort me. i never knew this auto my whole life i recently found out this stuff. >> lawrence: why did you become

a conservative, sir? >> pretty much the values i was taught with, my adoptive family which wonderful christian family. they raised me the right way. taught me some wonderful values, it was the god-felt way that i wanted to be led on. and i am a conservative because i believe in the constitution of the united states but, also i want to make sure that america is continued to move forward regardless of where we are at right now. there are too many weak leaders right now that don't have spines that are not standing up for the right thing and the rightful place for america. right now in neighborhoods -- our neighborhoods are suffering. the black neighborhoods are suffering. mass incarceration is up at a very high level in the black community. nobody seems to want to address it so, that's one of the reasons why i am a conservative because we want to make sure. >> lawrence: i'm limited in time, convincey. i want to ask you a few questions before the audience can support of you where do you stand on the issues? >> where do you stand when it comes to more taxes? >> more taxes? oh, man, what the biden

administration is trying to put out tax the rich. i don't agree with it i pay taxes, i employ people. so i know what it's like to feel like americans single moms and dads sitting home living paycheck to paycheck right now. i'm not trying to push more taxes on people. >> lawrence: what about the spinning? both political parties have been spending out of control. where do you stand on that? >> well, the spends has definitely got to get under control. right now we are at, what, $2 trillion a year ago we were way less than that so the facts are the facts, folks. i want people to understand read the black and white. read the fine print of what's happening right now in america in our own backyard. in our businesses. because this existing administration is not for the

>> lawrence: welcome back. the government wants to ramp up spying on everyday americans. guess what they are using as an excuse. that there is domestic extremism. the biden administration pointing to january 6th as the reason for the increased surveillance. what about antifa? joining me now is fox news contributor miranda devine. miranda, this looks shady to me. so what in the law are they using to take away our civil liberty? >> well, they are using this fake narrative that the president, joe biden, actually brought into being on the day of his inauguration when he gave that speech talking about this great threat that was prowling the land of white supremacists and domestic terrorists he then sicked his new attorney general on this same boogie man.

its intent is to demonize republicans. it's to put them in a situation where they are always on the defensive. and part of that has been we have seen even with our military going through trying to root out extremists, stand down soldiers, find anybody who might be a closet trump supporter and stamp them out. now enlisting the help of the social media companies to spy on americans where the constitution won't allow them to invade americans' privacy, they are allowing social media can do what they like. so, it's really a very frightening situation and i'm not really sure why no one is complaining more about it. we have seen left wing extremism has caused at least at much, i would argue far more trouble and discord and damage and destruction in the country.

we saw it all last year. antifa, blm riots, these are not trivial situations and, yet, you know, everyone condemns what happened on january 6th, the capitol riot, but it really has been exaggerated out of all proportion. you had joe biden just recently in his state of the union speech or, you know, his first speech to congress, saying that it was a worst event than anything since the civil war. it was the worst attack on our democracy. and, you know, i think that's just crazy. >> lawrence: i'm confused because, you know, i thought we were going after the people that did this already and they had facial recognition, they are prosecuting -- it seems like the fbi has the tools to take care of the people that charged the capitol that day. i don't understand why this is spreading to the rest of the country. and i would like to note that this is not the first time the federal government has spied on

people that they don't necessarily like. i mean, if black lives matter think they are exempt from that, they will be spied on. have they ever read where they went after civil right leaders dr. king, malcolm x the black panther? where does this go? >> that's exactly right they will come back and find you too. this is sci-fi. they are trying to look inside people's social media and look inside their mind to see if they might in the future commit somecide crime so they can head it off. it's really orwellian and ought not be happening. >> lawrence: i condemn what happened on january 6th but republicans have traditionally been okay with this type of stuff in the past when it came to the patriot act. and no one wants our country to experience it again but look at

the ramifications of giving up our civil liberties. we went through a shutdown where they shut down the entire country and didn't give us a real reason and we haven't came out of that. so are we going to continue to just give our civil liberties away? >> well, you are right. i think the republicans have been rather weak in pushing back and that's because very cleverly the democrat and nancy pelosi have used and weaponized that riot on january 6th which was an appalling situation. you know, bipartisan nationwide outrage about what happened and 450 people have been arrested already. a lot of them languishing in jail in solitary confinement pre-trial. so you can't say people haven't been punished. you can't say that there is not accountability and investigation. and, yet, for some reason, republicans seem to be on the back foot. they seem to be defensive because if they speak up against

these -- this overreach by the government, by the agencies, then they are just -- they seem to be cowed by the accusation that they're for what happened on january 6th. that they're insurrectionists, that they are domestic terrorists or at least that they condone domestic terrorism. >> lawrence: they are weak and they honestly don't deserve to have their positions of elected office if they cannot defend the u.s. constitution. it's terrible what they are doing to the country right now. miranda, thank you so much joining the program. >> thanks, lawrence. >> lawrence: be careful what you wish for. the left want to defund the police until something bad happens. and they actually need them. the sad reality is playing out in minneapolis where there has been a surge in violence. shortage of police officers. a college student was killed in a mass shooting hours before his graduation this weekend. and in the last few weeks, three children have been shot. this comes just months after the

minneapolis police department suffered financial cuts and nearly 200 officers left the force. now mayor jacob frey is seeking help from the state and federal agencies. now you need our help. joining me now nationally syndicated radio host is dana loesch. dana, now you want us to foot the bill when you couldn't control your city. this is on you, bro. >> yeah. no, lawrence, you are exactly right. it's so good to be with you this hour by the way. i know you are absolutely positively right. these were where activists i think more so out of anywhere in the country they were calling the loudest to defund the police. it was, you know, it was really from their cries and everything else rippled across the nation obviously. and now they are rethinking it. there were citizens that residents calling into the mayor's office saying we are really unhappy with the response times that we're getting and that was after it was somewhere around 200 officers left the

police force in minneapolis. they were in completely demoralized. this is what happens too, lawrence, when you paint all police officers with the bad actions of one bad cop. no one like dislikes a bad cop more than good cops because they are the ones that have to pay the price of the misdeeds of the one bad cop. that's kind of what we are seeing with this. you had 200 officers that left the force. they were demoralized and the morale with police departments this isn't just limited to minneapolis baltimore saw this a couple of years ago. and departments around the country new york, l.a., they are seeing people who are leaving the department faster than they can recruit to fill these new positions. so this is what you get with all of that rhetoric. this is what you get with a completely demoralized police force. and sadly, these tragedies are going to keep occurring because now criminals are emboldened. they have seen what happens. >> lawrence: you know, dana, i don't understand why this issue

has become so complicated. i just got back from detroit with the chief of police there james craig. he made it very simple. he said when he came, in he met with the public, figured out the problems, developed a relationship, when he saw back up he raided his own narcotics unit god rid of the bad apples and supported the good cops. seems like a real easy formula. he won the support of the public and the cops. and when it was time for them to riot, they said no. the people linked up with the activists in the community. now, that doesn't mean they are always going to agree. but he didn't demonize both groups. he brought them together. why can't these leaders all across the country show some backbone and just do that. >> no, i think that's a great point it would have been nice if somebody like maxine waters when she went to minneapolis instead of just going there for a photo op. and taking extra security with her if she had actually encouraged people to sit down with local leadership and hash out a plan where, you know, the citizens can work with police because police are also members

of the community. they are citizens, too, that elected to take a job that was determined by all of the residents in that area and keep the community safe. and it would be great if everyone it kind of remember that, also. somebody like waters, instead of going up there to get a photo op. could have maybe led an initiative to sit down and talk with people. people don't want to be at odds with the police. the police surely do not want to be at odds with the citizenry that they take an oath to protect and put their lives on the line to protect and serve every single day. that would be great to see this. i honestly wish that some of these activists. you and maj i love seeing you both talk about this issue. you were spot on. a lot of this in st. louis where people actually protested cut the check brought in and kind of hijacked all the protests from everybody. there were community members there that were already trying to do this with police. they were already trying to meet with police in ferguson and elsewhere and have that kind of relationship. and, of course, they got overshadowed by all of these national folks and people

elsewhere, carpet bagging and coming on in and taking everything over and high being gentlemanning the media attention and momentum. we really need those earnest citizens to keep pushing forward and know that their community is going to reap that reward. lawrence laurence i just hope it's worth it for some of these people. the division that they are causing. people getting shot up in new york city. people getting shotup in baltimore. all across the country people are getting shot up and these are unsolved crimes. and the police are not showing up. they are saying, look, i'm hands off now, right? you have needles in parks. this is not the direction that we should be going. we want to have conversation but if it means lawlessness, i mean, it's just absurd. and it's not the country that i want my children to grow up. in i know you don't want your boys growing up like this. final word? >> amen to that. i agree with you. even when you have video footage you have the one officer stopping one young woman from stabbing another young woman even when it happens right in front of your eyes.

people pretend that officer wasn't doing textbook good policing and using good -- using really good judgment and discernment training in his response. so, i do think that there is obviously a tendency for people to keyboard judge what do. until they have been in that position, i think they need to be careful and work and give the benefit of the doubt not to say that there is bad cops. i have had my exchanges. i know there are bad cops out there. i know that for a fact. there are a lot of good cops out there. i like those good cops because they vastly outnumber the bad ones. we know that. >> lawrence: especially since new york won't let me have a gun. that's all i have got. >> unbelievable. you could lead training in some of that come on. >> lawrence: this is what i'm going to come back texas. thank you. >> we miss you here. >> lawrence: miss you guys, too. come up, the biden administration under investigation for potential conflict of interest after awarding a massive $87 million

>> lawrence: joe biden is lying again he says the border is closed but his administration's actions imply otherwise. the administration paying $87 million to give to illegal migrants free hotel rooms after their caught crossing the border. joining me now with reaction america first legal founder and former white house senior adviser stephen miller. so, stephen, why are they being put in the hotels to begin with? >> this is very important point. they are not being put in the hotels as a staging ground for removal which is how hotels were used in the past albeit sparingly. the hotels are being used as reception and welcome centers. the contract you are referring to which is now under investigation because the

individuals involved in setting it up were also tied to the transition. $350 per illegal migrant per day. they may as well give this contract to the four seasons and save the taxpayers money. how many people right now that served this country honorably in uniform are having trouble. people that served in vietnam, people that served in the gulf war, that have having trouble paying their housing bills while you have illegal immigrants getting $350 per day in free housing services before being flown to their destination or by bus brought to the destination of choice inside america? >> lawrence: yeah, so you said this is just a welcome center. so they are just giving them breakfast and processing them like what is actually going -- why do they need a room. >> that's a great question. because you might ask why if they are going to do that why not just release them right out at the border. part of them is purely for appearance sake.

dhs assumes reporters for most outlets aren't going to follow up to the next stage of the process. if you don't release them right here at the border there is not going to be cameras or visuals bring them just a little bit further into the interior out of public view. that's a big factor here. the second reason is it's because the local communities will be up in arms if everyone gets released there so they try to distribute them all around the country, again, that's a p.r. thing. that's just to help with optics. the third reason why is because it does take a little bit of time to line up funding sometimes through ngos, nongovernmental organizations to get these illegal migrants on to buses or planes to the next stage of travel. so, for all those reasons, none of which are virtuous is pushed off into hotels. >> lawrence: interesting. the second day point because this is important. the person getting the contract worked on the transition. we weren't promised normalcy. we were promised to return to business as usual. oh, that's right. business as usual is the people

that are well-connected to the politicians get the contract. >> yeah, i mean, this is just outrageous. honestly, having worked on a presidential transition. having worked obviously at the highest levels of the white house, this would never happen when donald trump was president. never ever ever ever would this have happened. in fact, president trump would have made sure if we were doing a contract it would be the person with the best experience, with the most efficiency and the best savings for the taxpayer. this group doesn't even have any experience working with ice. as best we can tell they have no clue what they are doing. this looks absolutely on its face it looks corrupt. and i will say one more thing, which is that this is about whether or not this country has a border. paying for expensive hotel based welcome centers for illegal immigrants is categorically insane. there is no other word for it. it is actually insane. no country that wishes to survive would ever voluntarily adopt a policy.
