laboratory. republicans are demanding transparency and that china finally be held accountable. >> the evidence strongly suggests that this virus escaped from one of the two institutes of virology in wuhan china. >> what matters most to me is that the american people get answers with chinese government responsible for unleashing the worst pandemic in a century on the world. through a combination of its negligence in these labs and its deceitfulness in covering it all up. >> this is the third pandemic to come out of china, the third one. have they paid a price for anything? no, not really. so i want to give president biden tools to push back against china. the question is, will he do it and is he capable of doing it? >> harris: pete, i want to get your reaction to lawmakers on what they are saying and then i will hit you again because we have a piece of new information but first of all your thoughts on all of that.
9:03 am
>> pete: joe biden and the administration, welcome to the party, welcome to common sense. welcome to what so many people so much center including president donald trump that it is the most likely scenario which is usually correct which is there is a virology institute right there yet they are pinning it on the wet market, they are totally -- silencing scientists, and they utilize w.h.o. to spread their own propaganda and then they get their own social media sites on board. shame on facebook and shame on twitter, they are absolutely publishers when they decide that the -- it came from a lab or could have, it's completely silenced for over a year and now they get to make an about-face. we .59 people have died because of either a mistake or intentional emanation from that lab, most likely, we better have more than words. it's not going to be the biden
9:04 am
administration that holds them accountable, but it will have to be future legislation or future presidents that finally stand up to the communist chinese who acted more than recklessly and irresponsibly. they acted irresponsibly and it way that was aggressive and allowing the virus to spread across the globe. in its too far delayed. i go further, they are censorship artists. we have just heard from the president of the united states, he was asked in on his way to cleveland. so he's talking to reporters, a couple of them. will you release the report in 90 days on this because they will do a 90 day review on this investigation in the wuhan lab. he just said what will they be doing it with because china

isn't going to play ball. is what the president said it, he said yeah, unless there's something i'm aware of. yeah, unless there's something i'm aware of. what do you think that could mean? >> i have trouble understanding the president a lot of time when he speaks. so it sounds like he is seeing some of the same evidence that president trump referenced that strongly points to what is, as pete said, common sense. where it came from this lab, we know that workers at this lab were sick. if it does defy basic common sense to not at least look at that theory, so he's probably seen the same evidence that president trump referred to way back in the spring. we will see but what a muddled message coming out of the white house. we had jen psaki telling us for days, we just need the w.h.o. investigation, we don't need the u.s. investigation. yesterday she was totally and completely contradicted by joe biden who announced his 90 day investigation after he had
9:06 am
shut down a state department investigation in january. this is total mixed messaging at all about politics. by feeling the political pressure and now you have congress who has passed the bill, we will see if it passes the house, saying you must release the origin. >> harris: unless there's something i'm unaware of, and what you are saying is, what would that even possibly be because you believe biden has already seen it. having been inside a white house, you know a lot about what presidents would see and what they wouldn't. >> yes, that's right, they wouldn't. that's the same intelligence that president trump had, which when asked, why would you shut down in investigation one mike pompeo released to you the three findings that were suggestive of the laboratory as origin. >> our own peter doocy who goes to the white house press briefing as often as he can, because you know they are
9:07 am
rotating people through covid restrictions, he was really pressing the house deputy press secretary yesterday on whether biden would punish china if covid originated in that wuhan lab. let's watch. >> what do presidents seek to punish china? >> we are not going to go there just yet. we have to go through the 90 day review. >> if another nation either wasn't responsible or knew more than they were letting on, what would the president do? >> he asked his team back in march, right, to look into this. this is not by first time we've heard him voiced his concern about the origins of covid-19. so we are taking the next step and not going to prejudge. >> harris: i want to start there with you and what your follow-up questions would be immediately and then we will get to that political side, the democrat side. >> leslie: if i were standing
9:08 am
at that podium i would put out all of the facts and i would not have good sound bites for the media perhaps because here are the facts. there have been two possibilities for the origin of the virus. at the wuhan lab or an animal host. one of the reasons that they were leaning toward animal host scientists, the past two, the grandfather and father of covid-19 were both linked to animal origins, over 80,000. and we know that not being too premature to jump to. what happened is, they stop the state department and put more into the intelligence community. in fact in march, he asked his national security advisor jake sullivan to do more and dig deeper because president biden wasn't happy with the results.
9:09 am
one of the problems that both the trump administration and biden administration haddock, china is not letting our investigators on the ground into that lab to do a proper investigation so i don't want to sound like the opposite of pollyanna here but we may never know if we don't have the chinese government cooperating and i think it's a long shot especially if they are responsible and if it did come from this lab. >> really quickly, jack keane and going after china for a possible leak and then emily i'm coming to you for reaction. >> if you say it did not come out of the wuhan lab and then provide us the avid comic evidence. the behavior here in protecting his criminal behavior and that puts his regime at risk if he becomes an international pariah. that's what he's facing and he is going to pull out all the stops to protect this old faced lie that china is telling.
9:10 am
>> emily: i would never disagree with general jack keane, that's for sure. we know that diplomatic u.s. scientists attack attacked the u.s. embassy race at their alarm about the concern about those wuhan lambs. they sent multiple tables to the u.s. state department is expressing their concerns about the safety and management there or lack thereof of these labs with the perfect storm of the type of viruses that they were handling and the extreme potential threat to public safety because of the high transmissibility between bats to humans and again under the rubric of that lab being poorly equipped, poorly managing to be handling such impressive viruses. so it remains to be seen. i would say that biden administration has two charges. the first is to acknowledge their abject failures and not acknowledging that long history of sounding the alarm. which by the way, both cables were not classified, they were merely sensitive. it was not difficult to find this trail of evidence.
9:11 am
they need to acknowledge the abject failure there and they need to acknowledge that they stop secretary pompeo's investigation and they are continuing to perpetuate to the chinese at every turn. and that they need to acknowledge that the consistent deceit and secrecy on the part of the chinese government has frankly blanketed any attempt by anyone to find meaningful answers. so to leslie's point i agree, good luck joe biden, but it's probably too little, too late. >> harris: and we still don't know what role the world health organization played. we know it was enough for president trump to say, we had enough. >> emily: we know how much he donates to the w.h.o. so they are certainly in the back pocket. >> harris: just ahead, three texas police officers were shot overnight as the justice department now says it's stepping in to help out local law enforcement to deal with the surgeon violent crime. why some cities are now doing 180 on defunding the police.

inside the state of israel. how many jew's live in the muslim states that surround it? how much plurality and how much freedom do you have? what if you're a homosexual in those countries? what if you want freedom of speech? even in the areas controlled by palestinians, christians are being pushed out and jews can't even go there so this idea comes from people who want to push a narrative because they hate israel and they have no idea what israel lives under or how there's a reason why we have such a connection to them as an ally. >> emily: well said. coming to you we have these four house democrats coming out with this letter but it also comes in the wake of those anti-semitic troops, where they tried to pass a resolution just cleanly condemning anti-semitism and they couldn't do it. they left one member of your own party to say this, why are we unable to singularly condemn anti-semitism, why can't we call

it anti-semitism at show we learned of the lessons of history? and that's a democrat that. >> leslie: whether it's anti-semitism, islamophobia, prejudice, dissemination, hatred or completely wrong, but i want to be very clear. i know harris' husband is jewish but i think i'm the only one of jewish descent. i think i offer a bit of a different person. i have a christian parent, i jewish parent and i'm married to a muslim. i lived in israel in 1996 and i saw with my own eyes, and i was brought up, israel good, jew's good and arabs bad. that's among every religion and ethnicity and cultural background. it's oppression, not apartheid and that's the difference.

there's a reason you are hearing members of the squad using apartheid and using members of that phrase, it's more than a 200 page document that came out from human rights watch, a report that came out, and that has been defined fairly clearly. are there inhumane abuses against the palestinian people? i don't think the world democrats as well, the majority of us would agree with that. they have used children as human shields in the past and when we see this photo as a parent it makes me shudder. not just of the weapon but the child and the one holding it. >> harris: i was going to stay silent but you called my name. and yes, my husband is of the jewish faith. we see what's happening to the palestinian people.

please don't model it, don't ever model it. this has nothing to do with whether or not our hearts could hold love with people that are suffering and holding a pressing but let's be clear about who is oppressing them the most. when you line up military targets, among civilian people like hamas the terrorists do and you fire from those positions and then those people are fired on his responsibility of that? that's a terrorist move. because they have seen the warfare out there and what it really looks like. we have a beautiful and racially mixed family as do i and it doesn't give any of us a right to be in that situation. we are spidering the terrorists. and lebanon and hamas, and not

lebanon but has the law, and that pulls on heartstrings because we all feel for the people were suffering. >> that's right and those are facts. i've been to the region as well, tell me more about what you've seen. >> pete: hamas has a choice in the gaza strip and elsewhere. you can either build schools and hospitals and create opportunities or you can build tunnels and rockets and work with iran. they've made their choice. how can we ask a state in the union who perpetuates the idea that that other state must be wiped off the map and then fit back and say, well, they are actually the oppressors. israel is not perfect but my goodness, are they a shining

example of pluralism. jew's, and muslims can worship in the holy areas. you could go to many of those places, certainly worshiping jew's or christians cannot. they are starting to allow dangerous on the far left, and that creates a question among the israeli government and people wonder whether america will have their back. >> kayleigh: it's changing when you have members like rashida tlaib talking about the date of israel's creation which was a moment when palestinians were pushed out and dispossessed. she sang the exact same thing who says she wants wipe israel
