the highest it has been since 1992. that's for the month of april. pete: that's right. if you are introducing a brand new budget and you are really proud of that budget, the time to do it is the friday before memorial day holding it until 1:30 in the afternoon when joe biden is already out of town. because the price tag is staggering as will said. $6 trillion is the white house's wish list. here's a small portion of what is in it and we will get into other details as well. 76 billion in nondefense spending. it's a 16% increase. 861 million to central american countries, 75 billion for defense, which is very minor increase. 36 billion in climate investments, 2.1 billion for gun violence. had 110 million for transportation equity. carley: all these new terms. pete: it's true it would put the u.s. budget deficit meaning the

amount we spend more than what we take in at $1.8 trillion that was the size of our entire budget in 2,000. that is just the deficit biggest federal package since world war ii and we will have to borrow 50 cents for every dollar we spend. carley: pete, hitting the nail on the head. the question is how toupee for this? the answer is you don't. you cannot squeeze $6 trillion out of the top 1% and corporations. the deficit is going to be $1.8 trillion in this next fiscal year if this passes which it is not going to pass in this capacity. goes down to 1.3. that means that we are going to spend $1.3 trillion more than we take in and president trump was criticized for spending too much but his last budget proposal was, what, $4.8 trillion. so $1.2 trillion less. grover norquist who is -- he doesn't like high taxes, to say the least. pete: fair.

carley: he is not too pleased about this biden budget plan. take a listen to what he though say on fox news at night, watch. >> except we heard it during obama. he said i'm going to raise taxes and spend all this money and we will have strong growth. of all the recoveries after world war ii obama's was the weakest because he did exactly what biden is doing. although biden is doing it worse. obama said i'm never going to go back as something as crazy as 28% capital gains tax biden is going to 4 o0. intind going to jimmy carter territory twice china. we would you do guess in the united states when biden have twice the capital gains and higher. it's chasing jobs away from america. pete: that's right. you can say if you are for the worker but you are taxing every american more and corporations especially jobs and investment will go elsewhere. that that was the whole premise of what america first was. invest in life here which makes

it better for everybody. you mentioned inflation what a huge aspect. highest inflation level right now since 1992. the core price index rose by% that doesn't even include food and fuel because those are so volatile and we have seen try buying meat today or fuel today. it's all more expensive which is a hidden tax on everybody. will: yeah, talking about a trillion dollars budget things you focus on how we pay for it. it's not just through taxes inflation. the effect economy, what it does for job creation. also, where is the moping. >> we showed you a list there of a couple of items this $6 trillion would be spent on. that is a list of priorities when it comes it the biden administration, we should talk about that more throughout the morning. what exactly are they going to spend all of this money on. meanwhile, i think the two biggest questions right now, when it comes to the coronavirus and the vaccine. for most people out there are my children going to have to be vaccinated to participate in normal society? and am i going to have to be vaccinated to return to work? the answer, at least according to the eeoc is, yes.

that companies can require their employees to be vaccinated to come back to work. here is eeoc guidelines. the federal eeo laws do not prevent the employer from all employees physically entering the workplace to being be vaccinated from covid-19. keep in mind because some individuals may face greater barrier from receiving the vaccine than others, some employees may be likely be negatively impacted by a vaccine requirement. if your company says you must be vaccinated to come into the building you must be vaccinated. carley: that's unbelievable. eoc is the call employment opportunity. the companies can force you to inject something into your body. there are like you just read there are some carveouts. if you have a religious reason for not getting the vaccine or a medical reason for not getting the vaccine, can you make that

case and i'm sure your employer will take that into consideration. but if you just have vaccine hesitancy, if you are concerned about getting the vaccine for any reason, that's not a good enough case and employers can say you have to get it. pete: it's interesting to see, the eoc says antibody tests you can't require employees. carley: that's where they draw the line? pete: that's a revelation of medical information but whether or not you received an emergency use vaccine is as well in i don't see, will, how this doesn't move toward vaccine passports and i don't want it to and it shouldn't but ultimately how does the company or how do private companies -- especially ones that you don't work after the but you might frequent, how do they validate that? right now we are on a good faith system. rightfully so. i'm not making the case for vaccine passports. you see stuff like this and that kind of pressure starts to slide down hill and if washington and it won't because the biden administration doesn't stand in the way that kind of stuff could

be coming. will: to your point i walked into a store sign out front if you are fully vaccinated you don't have to wear a mask indoors, great, i'm vaccinated i can go in. when i go in one of the employees said are you vaccinated i said yeah. pete: you were asked? will: no way to prove it to your point unless there is some requirement for vaccine passport which i would expect will be on its way. not without a fight though. and not without these kind of guidance from the eoc. at least being challenged constitutionally. challenge could come from a place like houston, texas, where 117 employees are going to sue a hospital there that is requiring everyone who works at the hospital to get a vaccine by june 7th or they cannot return to work. here's what some of the nurses in that hospital had to say. they said there are so many what ifs out there. june 7th is the deadline. take the vaccine or pack up your bags. we are not saying we will never

get it we want more time. woe want more research. we want to see it fda approved thoroughly before we actually put in our body. pete: i feel like missed in all of this i mentioned it is natural immunity. rand paul had a great segment on tucker last night talking about the fact it's just never considered. dr. makary says the same thing. we don't know if natural immunity is the same as vaccine immunity whether both is the gold standard. so. we don't know on a country that's premised on choice. my body, my choice. carley: oh my gosh, you took the words out of my mouth. if a democrat goes up there, no, no, no. sounds better when you say it anyway. you know this is political, right? republicans lean more towards not forcing people to get vaccinations, democrats are going to say this is great. it's going to help other people. you want to protect other people, all that all you have to say is, listen, you are the party of my body, my choice. if that applies to abortion, that should also apply to

vaccines. i think that this head to the supreme court. pete: it could. but a lot of things will happen before it gets there takes some time for that process to play out. we will keep covering this all morning. another big story we have been following. an illegal immigrant is found it's of first degree murder in the killing of mollie tibbetts. the verdict came nearly three years after mollie was found stabbed to death in her small iowa town. jackie ibañez joins us live with more as one juror speaks out jackie? >> juror says the case hit home but he feels confident with the guilty verdict. take a listen for yourself. >> especially for a lot of us, it was very emotional. you know, people that have kids. what we really had to do is put all our emotions to the side and that's not what it was about. it wasn't about our own personal beliefs and stuff like that. we had to look at the evidence and fact and stuff like that and base off of that. that's what we made our decision. >> jury deliberated over seven

hours. at the end of the day reed and the other seven jurors had no doubt in their minds when it come to convicting christian rivera of first degree. >> any doubts or anything that anybody had? we kind of talked everything out and made sure we were all on the same page. with something obviously like this or anything else, you want to have 100 percent commitment and know for sure that this was the case i feel very confident with our decision. i think the other jurors are very confident. >> an important part of the prosecution's case was this video right here that caught rivera's car near tibbetts while she was on that fateful jog in 2018. plus, blood with her d.n.a. found in the truck. rivera now faces life in prison without parole. his sentencing is scheduled for july. media outlet were quick to down play his illegal immigration status. the associated press, "new york times," cnn, and others all calling him a farm worker. will, carley, pete?

democrats in congress are going to go through. not only does it include incredible tax hike force many industries and corporations but specifically for the oil and gas industry. but it also establishes slush funds i call them. it is unelected bureaucrats are going to have control of billions of dollars to allocate to projects of their preference. and this is just going to be totally flanked with corruption. what happens if you give elected bureaucrat control $8 billion a year to quote unquote revitalize a community. what does that mean? pete: exactly $36 billion for climate. 225 billion for subsidized child care. universal pre-k. free community college. we can go down the line. you are saying a lot of it is ambiguously allocated and comes down to regulators who work with lobbyists and figure out where this money eventually goes? >> that's exactly what happens. i think that the major consequence that's going to be

in our lives day-to-day people who are in this country is that first there is going to be less investment. we know investing the corporate tax, all the literature shows it's going to reduce investment in our country. then it's going to just put us in debt at a very dangerous level. a working paper just came out from harvard, princeton and the university of chicago economists very well regarded peer reviewed paper economic research that shows that the united states cannot run a permanent deficit of 2% of g.d.p. under biden's budget we would be running 16% of g.d.p. budget deficit this year more than last year. and in the foreseeable future we will never balance the budget. it's going to take to us a debt crisis. i'm very afraid of the consequences of that. pete: the story of venezuela is a dangerous one. what's the one ingredient from this that has you most worried as far as the future of the american economy compared to, say, venezuela, the road it

took? >> yeah. it is the fiscal irresponsibility of biden's on the democrats budget. they talk a lot about the nordic countries and talk about wanting to be like europe. none of the nordic countries run budget like the democrats are proposing. they run balanced budgets they pay for it by raising taxes on the population. you may be like me and disagree we should be cutting spending. if the democrats actually want to fund all their spending proposals, they need to be clear with the american people they have to pay for it and propose how. they don't want to because they know the midterm elections are close. they prefer to kick the can down the road we are going to pay the consequences for this. pete: daniel di martino, thank you for that warning. >> thanks for having me. pete: you got it you thisly surfaced radar footage grainy

ufo's for the u.k. ministry of defense nick joins you now. we saw the radar footage what is being described as ufos swarming a u.s. naval ship. what are we looking at here in this footage? >> well, the simple answer is we don't know but we sure as heck need to find out as a matter of urgency. and if this was some sort of drone operated by china or russia, and that's one of the theories, there would be an absolute outcry but because people say this is just ufos everyone is like oh well that's okay. it's not okay. and fortunately we are now going to get this investigation report from director of national intelligence to congress and hopefully we will get some answers. will: yeah, nick, i think everyone's brain when you mention the phrase ufo immediately diswrowmps extra tress industrial a foreign power with advanced technology. is it potentially a more benign answer as well? could it be radar or grainy

footage showing up birds or something close tort camera lens? is there any more benign explanation that we simply aren't giving enough attention to? >> i'm not really sure there is because although you can get radon glitches. the situation here is we have a combination. and of course these latest films are not the only ones. some of the other incidents we have testimony from the pilot. we have are infrared films radar data and satellite imagery apparently of these things, too. former director of national intelligence john ratcliffe revealed that recently. so all those things together, i think something more than just glitches. will: let me ask you this, i'm going to take a accident tall tone i won't hold personally i know others that do. here's a question i'm often asked. why don't we ever see a clear naked to the eye image?

♪ >> in addition to the geopolitical issues relative russia, one of the reasons why i think that pipeline is very dangerous is because it is carrying the dirtiest form of natural gas on earth. so i think for a variety of reasons it is a problem. pete: energy secretary jennifer granholm testifying before the house science any week where she was pressed on the dangers of the nord stream 2 pipeline after the white house waived sanctions on the russian company. carley: very interesting. our next guest was one of the lawmakers asking those tough questions. florida congressman national guard colonel and former green beret michael waltz joins us now. so, congressman, we were under the impression that president biden didn't like pipelines because his first order of business was killing the keystone xl pipeline yet he gives green light to the russia nord stream 2 pipeline and you just found out this week that his energy secretary doesn't even agree with that decision. so, what did you learn from that

exchange with her? >> yeah. that's right. so we have a situation where president biden comes in, shuts down the keystone pipeline. does he have little in return for the attack of russian-backed hackers on the colonial pipeline and then right in the wake of that, very curiously and interestingly lifts sanctions on putin's pipeline heading from russia into germany. in middle of all of that apparently his energy secretary not only had little, if anything to do with the decision, nothing to do with the decision, according to her, but disagreed with it. on, one, on ground that it creates dependency in europe on russian oil. we're paying lot of money and sending lots of soldiers to defend europe from russia. now we have dependency from an energy standpoint and very interestingly said she disagreed with the biden administration's decision because that pipeline

moves one of the dirtiest forms of oil and gas in the world and that's really bad for biden's climate agenda. so what gives? will: what does give. why did he live these sanctions? >> we don't have one, exactly. it's just case in point again and again and again whether it's the iran deal or how he deals with hostages or how he deals with palestine and hamas much just a give away with very little in return. same thing in afghanistan. we still have an american hostage being held in afghanistan yet, he is pulling everybody out with getting nothing in return. i want to know what did biden get in return for lifting sanctions on one of putin's top priorities? pete: so the killer get a pipeline but our own companies here can't open one. i don't understand it at all. it defies explanation. >> and his energy secretary said not only did she have nothing to

do with it, she disagreed with it. carley: wow. yeah. i think he would even disagree with it considering his climate agenda and all the money he is putting into climate change for our country. last time i checked russia was part of the world. will: russia over the past four to five years it, does defy explanation. >> maybe there has been former business interest there, too. i don't know, i'm just asking questions. if you can't get a why you have got to figure out what it might be. colonel, we would be remiss if we didn't is ask you as a colonel and army green beret memorial day is coming up. who do you remember on memorial day? >> i wear one of these bracelets, pete, every day for staff sergeant matt pay petino took point. he went out on every single mission until a taliban trip wire got him. sergeant woods had pressroom missions of his own death so strong that he wrote letter to all of his family and teammates

will: comes as millions are expected to travel. carley: kurt the cyberguy joins us live from los angeles with more. good morning, kurt. kurt: carley, good morning to you pete and will. 34 million people expected to hit the road this weekend, a holiday weekend full of a lot of fun and super high gas prices. look behind me about 4.29 a gallon here in the los angeles area. the country's average not bad in terms of the price compared to this. but almost 54% higher than last year average price of 3.04 at the pump. that is a big ouch for this holiday weekend. adding to this dilemma. is the fact that labor is difficult to get people to drive the tankers to deliver to the 150,000 gas stations around the country. running into problems getting enough drivers to deliver the gas which could effect the demand for gas prices and supply issues there. is in terms of how do you bring that price down at the pump, a few apps can you download the

fox news spoke to the a juror immediately after that verdict. >> especially for a lot of us, it was very emotional. people that have kids or hispanic culture and stuff like that. what we really had to do is put all of our emotions to the side and that's not what it was about. it wasn't about our own personal beliefs and stuff like that. we had to look at the evidence, the facts and stuff like that and based off of that, that's how we made our decision. carley: former homicide detective and fox news contributor ted williams investigated mollie's case in 2018 and he joins us now. good morning to you, sir. i can't believe it's been three years since this tragedy, mollie tibbetts, beautiful girl, died in 2018. what's your reaction to this guilty verdict? >> you know, carley, i got to tell you that i was overjoyed. you know, as you said, in july of 2018, myself and nicole castillo we were thought brooklyn, iowa doing an

investigation for fox news of the killing of mollie tibbetts. this 20-year-old university of iowa student goes jogging. videotape picks up the fact that this guy, rivera, is in the area in which she is jogging. they finally get to talk to rivera, and he confesses to having contact with him. he said just during the course of the argument while he was jogging he got out of his car and he started talking to her and the next thing he says is that he blacks out and then she is found in the trunk of his car, he says, and he then takes up and dumps her body. but, at trial, he threw a monkey wrench into all of this. at trial he testified that two men, he, meaning rivera was abducted by two men. and as a result of that

abduction, he wound up being forced to kill mollie tibbetts and dump her body. and the jury didn't buy it this man was a cold blooded killer and he was found guilty beyond any reasonable doubt and i believe that he's guilty beyond any reasonable doubt, carley. carley: yeah, that's right. justice has been served. if you can get any sort of justice in a horrific case like this. you know, the fact that he is an illegal immigrant does play into the story. he shouldn't have even been in this country in the first place. what are your thoughts on that element of this? >> well, you are absolutely right. he should not have been in this country. he was sort of like a day worker, working at a farm in iowa. but, it is repugnant to me that he was in the country. but i have got to tell you, carley, one of my concerns is what is known as the meranda

rights, that's the right to remain silent and not to be compelled testimony. that is up in the air there is a possibility that this case will be coming back for another trial unfortunately, he was supposed to be giving a confession prior to his miranda rights. that is certainly going to be an issue on appeal. carley: yeah, didn't the jury already know that during this trial so -- i know that his lawyers are saying that they are going to appeal this case but if the jury knew that he was allegedly not given his miranda rights, doesn't that play into the initial trial? >> it does. but i can tell you as a lawyer, that that is clearly an appellate issue. there is something called a friewft the poisonous tree dock tulane simply means any evidence that's tainted may very well be

had carried thousands of troops from the united states to france during world war i but the ship became infamous at the time because in 1918 s.s. liteson had the worst intransit casualties of the deadly wave of the spanish flu. by the time the ship arrived in france 2,000 were sick and 80 had passed away. as seen by this transport list melvin had to travel on that very ship on the way home after all of that had happened eight months prior. pete: wow, amazing. >> yeah. and i think. pete: i just watched the movie 1917 yesterday. steve. will: it's a great one. pete: world war i brings it home. >> can you probably imagine what it was like to travel on that ship coming back and after the pandemic and all of that but they were -- they came home safely but, you know, we lost over 100,000 american military

let's move onto the budget real quick because late yesterday afternoon on a friday before memorial day the biden white house released their budget proposal which is whopping $6 trillion the largest federal package since world war ii. elements of what is in it 769 billion for nondefense spending. central american countries the root cause saying love to get to you chime. in 753 billion for defense. 36 billion for climate, gun violence, transportation equity. when you look at this budget proposal, what does it tell you about joe biden's priority? >> sound like he wants to spend my kids and hopefully one day i will have grandchildren their money, too. this is enormous budget that will leave an enormous on that next generation. pieces of that you can see this, too. this is european social welfare bordering on socialism. that money that's going to go to central america. i don't know exactly what they tagged it for. we know that the crisis at the

border isn't going to be solved by tossing money at the central american countries. it simply won't work. this sounds like a smorgasbord of left wing activities that they want to underwrite with american taxpayers and make no mistake about it and in the end a middle class hardworking americans will end up being taxed to pay for this. carley: really quickly, mr. secretary. lindsey graham said that just because it's a 1.7 ingrease in defense spending, the budget as posed by president biden could make our defense department weaker. do you agree with that? do you think our defense department needs more money? >> you know, i think it needs to make sure it's using the resource it was has today. whether it need more money or not, i will leave to the folks who are professionals on the ground. make no mistake about it when you start undermining the core values of the united states military. we have seen these things where they put out advertisements, they talk more about diversity and up collusion and less about the capacity of the military to

defect so that he is not guilty by reason of insanity. so he is going to want to get him evaluated by a psychiatrist or a psychologist to see whether he is competent to stand trial and these two prior incidents where you have the 10 weeks ahead where it looks like is he facing kach's house and the other incident in february where he tried to snatch someone else's toddler. this really looks to me like premeditation like serious premeditation like a man determined to get a child that he can then attack and kill and that is really going to be a big problem for declaring him mentally incompetent because people who are mentally incompetent can't engage from all of this kind of pre-planning. will: you know france is i you mentioned in one of the incidents chased off by the grand father of a child who it appeared he was going to be abducted chased him off with a kitchen knife. at that time the neighbor chose not to press charges now seeing what brown went on to do, he

wants to go back and press. tell our viewers, how does that work? is a victim in charge of whether or not an accused gets charges pressed? >> no. absolutely not. we saw this many years ago in domestic violence cases where women would refuse to cooperate and prosecute the cases against their domestic partners and all the states in this country changed their laws so that it no longer required victim permission. it is not the victim versus the defendant. it is the state of georgia or the state of california versus the defendant. it is the public who is prosecuting that offender it just go really illustrate a strong point and that is that we have got to take crimes against children seriously. i don't really blame this other man for not wanting to press charges. i blame the prosecutor. the prosecutor should have seen that someone trying to snatch trying to snatch a toddler. the public and other children need to be protected from him. i don't know when in this

israel waged against hamas there is a wave of anti-semitic attacks. have you seen on the left from democrats not enough denunciation of the anti-semitism that's come out in this country. well, to their credit, rutgers university put out a statement denouncing anti-semitism to the student body. this is a portion of -- so far we are on track. we are saddened by and greatly concerned about the sharp rise in hostile sentiment and anti-semitic violence in the united states. recent incidents of hate directed towards jewish members of our community again remind us of what history has to teach us. tragically in the last century alone acts of prejudice and hatred left unaddressed as served as a foundation for many atrocities against targeted groups around the world. will: on the right track. thursday that is. thursday we went off track because that's when rutgers apologized for the statement that pete just read. on thursday rutgers was forced to say the following. while the intent of our message was to affirm that rutgers new

other fallen veterans on this memorial day. >> yeah, thank you for having me. you know, i remember with chris we would go to a cemetery on memorial day even if it was one where we were out of state or out of the city where we knew people who were buried there we would go and pay our respects to people who served and died and then we would sit over grave sites of our friends who died, too. say a pray for their families hug each other and then we gold out and celebrate the freedoms that they died for. i know chris felt strongly that it's not just a super happy day all day you have to take that minute to remember but after that he would want that -- they would want that we would go out and celebrate. and enjoy our freedom. pete: at a a do you think americans are sufficiently remembering today and sufficiently guarding those freedoms that your husband gave his life for just as one who lives that sacrifice?

>> you know, i think that there are a large number of people who are doing that i'm a big believer in freedom of religion not freedom from it. and i think the more people try to constrict our rights, the more there is a surge in people who are buying the bible and finding god. one nation under god. my business partner and i have collections where we have a whole jewelry line that is centered on freedom of religion and wearing it and accessing it. so i feel like, yes, there is a segment of the population who really is focused on using those freedoms. will: that's such a great description of how you and chris spent your memorial day earning your celebration in essence. earning that beer in the backyard, earning that good time. you know, chris' situation was unique. so many people knew his story. so many people knew about chris and as such we have seen images of his memorial service at at&t stadium with the cowboys play. thousands and thousands of people along the highway as well.

remembering chris. tell us what that felt like because for many other military families who have lost someone else, they don't get quite that same level of remembrance and so today is that day for them as well. >> yeah. and i appreciate you bringing that up because i felt this way, chris felt this way at the time. i still feel this way. "american sniper" was never just our story. it was everyone's story whether they served 20, 30, 0 years ago american warrior the dynamic of the family is the same. i think large reason why there was such an outpouring in his death. like you said, the highways and freeway was were lined with people paying their respects. i know it was for chris and his humble nature and i also believe that it was for all people who served. he was this representative of your everyday guy who showed up and gave it his all for the rest of us i think that's part of the reason why there was such an

outpouring and i hope that other people who have lost a loved one in the fight see that and know that that was for them, too. carley: absolutely. what a beautiful message there at a a how do you feel about the direction this country is going right now? we are so divided and a lot of it is happening in schools where kids are being taught that the country is systemically racist and our founding fathers were racist and figures that shouldn't be celebrated? >> you know, i am a big believer that education really happens at home. and school is supposed to teach the academics but school isn't supposed to teach -- the teachers are not responsible for teaching our kids our morality, our ethics, whether or not we are racist. our belief in god. that has to be at home. we cannot farm that out. so every time i hear people really concerned about what schools are doing i try to encourtroom them are you pouring into the children yourself. are you doing it for your open children, your nieces, your nephews, your children's friends? it's up to us not the schools to
