12:01 am
plus, a former blm chapter had says he knows the ugly truth about the group. tonight, he takes us inside the movement. but first, the man who cried covid, that is the focus of tonight's angle. last week, we told you this wuhan lab leak was a huge issue that could bring down the entire d.c. establishment. the public health officials, academia, big tech, the media, and of course the politicians that sought to exploit a virus to drive trump out of office. well, now we know why the press started changing her story over the last two weeks. emails to and from anthony fauci released through her request to show us how cozy his relationship was with china at the very moment he should have been transparent with americans about the risky research that he knew was going on in the wuhan lab. now, from these emails we see that dr. fauci's deception and
12:02 am
purposeful obfuscation was even worse than we previously thought. his nearly four to $25,000 salary is paid for by the american taxpayers. his agency is funded by the american taxpayers. but he acted as though he was accountable to no one. well, that changes tonight. much of what fauci said about the virus, the drugs that could treated, and the measures just slow the spread was untrue. he knew it was untrue. we are going to go through the emails and new insights point by point, first on the masks. this was fauci's big reversal on masks last year. >> the thinking is really now influenced by information that is coming then that people who are without symptoms at all can transmit the virus. but importantly, they can do symptoms can transmit the virus that they can do it, may not need to be a classical mask that
12:03 am
could be some sort of spatial covering. >> newly released email shows fauci always new cloth masks did not work. on february 50,020 wrote this email to sylvia burwell, president of american university at former hhs secretary, masks are really for infected people to prevent them from spreading infection to people who are not infected rather than protecting uninfected people from acquiring infection. the typical mask you find in the drugstore is not effective in keeping out virus. i do not recommend that you wear a mask particularly since you are going to a very robust -- low risk location. that is nothing we didn't tell you last year. we are trying to figure out why the messaging from medical
12:04 am
professionals changed. the science didn't really change on the effectiveness of those homemade cloth masks. >> at the moment there is no hard evidence to back this up. >> there is no evidence that shows masks are going to be effective except perhaps in 95 masks. laura: the ingraham angle was color responsible for suggesting what studies on the cdc's own website about the influenza virus already said. second, fauci's emails on china and the lab leak theory or goldmine. we know there are scientists close to fauci's office who thought china's malfeasance was a real possibility. check out the january of 2020 email chain between fauci and christian anderson regarding covid origins. fauci writes this just came out. you may not have seen it. to which anderson responds the unusual features of the virus
12:05 am
make up a small part of the genome, less than 0.one%. one has to look closely at all the sequences to see that some of the features potentially look engineering. we find the genome inconsistent with expectations from evolutionary theory. then there was a secret call with anderson, fauci and top virologists. fast forward from that call for march 6, 2020, anderson tells fauci the paper he wrote now debunking the lab leak theory is about to get published. anderson thanked fauci and francis collins and one other person for their advice and leadership as we have been working through the size 2 origin paper. mysteriously anderson's article debunking the lab leak. inside my other colleagues was a 180 degrees turn from what he told
12:06 am
fauci in january. then fauci rushes out to the press to call the matter basically settled citing that article without revealing that he himself influenced it. >> there was a study recently that we can make available to you where a group of highly qualified evolutionary virologists looked at the sequences there, the sequences in bats as they evolve and the mutation that it took to get to that is totally consistent with a jump of species from animal to human. laura: that was a lie, the former new york times written nicholas wade recently exposed that faulty analysis. this was another case of poor science. the virus manipulated weather was a seamless with a serial passage there is no way of
12:07 am
knowing this is the case, doctor anderson and his colleagues were assuring their readers of something they could not know. of course the ingraham angle and a few others were constantly pushing the origin issue long ago. here is my february of 2020 exchange with fauci on the issue of china's transparency or lack thereof. we are sitting around saying could have been caused by a rabid bat and don't know because there was an level 4 lab in the vicinity, i am surprised you would say that given what we know about china's pattern of lying about critical issues. >> the chinese scientist we have dealt with, i have dealt with myself for years if not decades, many of them have trained here in the united states, i have faith that they are not distorting things. laura: you are satisfied with all the transparency coming out
12:08 am
of china today about the trajectory of the disease and the origin of the disease? >> my direct interaction with chinese scientists and chinese health officials i can believe what they are telling me. laura: given what he already knew, that we now know he knew about the virus potentially being engineered in a lab fauci was at the very least totally reckless in not pressing on the origin issue. information that could have been used to develop possible therapies to curb covid 19. that is not even the worst of it. emails also show a free cup by fauci's team when they realized nih money went to dangerous research being carried out by the wuhan lab, into that a little more with rand paul in a few moments but instead of working to discover if nih's funding was actually used to enhance deadly viruses fauci focused on maintaining his close collaboration with china. when email from his chinese
12:09 am
counterpart who apologize for how he had been quoted in an interview in science magazine, then he wrote let's work together to get the virus out of the earth. fauci responsible an old friend would, thanks for the note, i understand completely, no problem, we will get through this together. if only he felt the same way about american physicians like doctor scott atlas who raise legitimate questions about the wisdom of things like damaging lockdowns. these emails should mark the end of the road for fauci. he allowed taxpayer dollars to fund the chinese lab that may have created the virus that crippled the world and killed millions and as these emails show, he and his cronies launched a desperate campaign to cover that up. that wasn't because they were worried about their own reputations. as for the media's role in the cover-up they didn't just
12:10 am
protect fauci, they deified him in their position to drive trump out of office and that continued today. >> there is no doubt that there are people out there who for one reason or other recent me for what i did in the last administration which was not anything that was anti-trump at all, just trying to get the right information. as you learn more and more you've got to continue to evolve with the data and that is what i was doing, to always tell the truth. >> is that what we are calling it? evolving? here's wallace's top follow-up. >> they look good even when their personal emails come out, few of us would.
12:11 am
laura: they trusted the ccp more than they trust the american people with the truth. we know lots of people inside our government and big tech, the media, were not motivated by the science or health but motivated about what was going to help them defeat trump. this is why conservatives don't trust the experts and the globalists that they serve him. trump didn't destroy their credibility, they did it to themselves. most of us are simply going to ignore them. they've proven to be liars. calculating enough to use public fear to drive irrational policies while at the same time rejecting beneficial therapies like hydroxy chloroquine. the angle got it right on most of the big issues. why? we developed our own independent reliable sources of information, front line doctors who actually treated hundreds of covid patients along with researchers and academics who weren't afraid of being censored. going forward we need every document about the management of
12:12 am
this pandemic, the wuhan lab, gain of function, all of it to be released without any redactions except some extraneous personal information. americans need to see the full picture of what happened and who was driving it. fauci and everyone who ate and abetted him should have been terminated long ago. of democrats really care about restoring the public's trust they would immediately call for hearings, and the questions would be something unusual for the democrats. they would be objective, serious and probing and that is the angle. joining us now is one of the few who questioned doctor fauci's expertise and motives as early as we did, kentucky senator rand paul. you are now calling for the firing of anthony fauci. what can you do in the senate to
12:13 am
get more answers than the ones we have from these emails which are still redacted? >> we fantasy change of opinion. everybody left of center was saying this was a conspiracy, no way could have happened in the wuhan lab. doctor fauci saying we should investigate. the email planes a disturbing picture of doctor fauci from the very beginning worrying that he had been funding gain of function research and he knows it to this day, we have to get democrat counterparts to use committee hearings to investigate this but so far it hasn't such a partisan support for doctor fauci but he can do no wrong, there's a lot of evidence that he has a great deal of conflict of interest and if it turns out it came from the wuhan lab which looks like it did is a great deal of culpability in that he was a big supporter of the funding but also was a big supporter to this
12:14 am
day and say we can trust the chinese on this, we can trust the chinese scientists and that is quite naïve and should preclude him from the position he is in. laura: referencing the point you just made, the emails, they show fauci was scrambling in those early days of the pandemic to find out the link between the nih funding gain of function research and covid. you tell one of his underlings responded to this email about a gain of function study co-authored by the wuhan institute of virology's that leasing the paper you sent me says the experiments were performed before the gain of function pause but have since been reviewed and approved by nih, not sure what this means, since no coronavirus workers gone through the p3 framework. explains that. why is that so significant.
12:15 am
>> is what makes it worse, two weeks ago in committee hearings said they did not find any gain of function research. i quoted that specific papers so the very paper he puts in the email and says my goodness, we need to read this paper because it looks like we are funding gain of function research which is where we choose up these viruses, taken from animals and infect them into humans, he's admitting that his underling, he's worried about this in february of last year but only 2 weeks ago he tells me wasn't gain of function research but in this email in the subject line he says gain of function research. he was admitting it to his private underlings 7, eight, nine months ago. >> could there be, culpability here, given the repeated failures of doctor fauci who is basically in charge of much of our messaging on this and advice on this could there be criminal culpability here? fraud or ongoing collaboration
12:16 am
with the chinese when he was making excuses for them? >> at the very least there is culpability. the research done by the bad scientists in wuhan she gives them credit, she lists the exact nih grant with a 10 disclaimer or id number listing the money and thinking the nih for the money. it is clearly gain of function, several scientists are in this field, cellular biologists who all say taking a sars virus and adding an s protein to make infect human cells is the definition of gain of function, very dangerous, shouldn't be doing it here or there but doctor fauci has denied it to this day, the private emails show he is acknowledging it was gain of function, nobody was questioning, the scientific community needs to look at this because he hides behind this they'll of a lab coat that nobody can question him. i believe and by looking at the
12:17 am
evidence that it was gain of function research, to this day he is still saying he would do it again. >> one of those emails obtained was from peter.shock of the health alliance, he was pushing this and doing this research, funded by nih, he wrote to fauci on april 18th, 2020, just wanted to say a personal thank you for publicly standing up and stating the scientific evidence supports a natural origin for covid 19. not a lab release -- unbelievable. >> is the thing. peter is not a disinterested party. he's not just looking for the truth, he was the funder of the research in wuhan so he has self-interest in not revealing this because it turns out the virus comes from the lab, this is a big deal so any investigation going forward
12:18 am
can't include -- they were the ones who funded the lab. they have a conflict of interest coming to the truth. >> one more question, about the timing of the lift of the moratorium on this type of research. in january of 2017 bni 80 released this statement saying we've gone through the reviews and have all these recommendations as to why this type of research should be permitted. it was 11 days before donald trump is inaugurated, 4 or 5 page memorandum. don't you find the time to be interesting.
12:19 am
>> absolutely. the nih realized gain of function was dangerous, had it for 3 years and right before donald trump becomes president they allow it again, start grant exemptions all approved by doctor fauci, the committee is secret, they won't let you know everybody on the committee but you know doctor fauci knows who is on the committee and reviews this stuff but they also allow some of the research in wuhan not to go before the committee and when they were asked why was this not reviewed by this committee on safety they said it wasn't gain of function research so they basically defined it out of the purview of the committee that was supposed to be assessing safety and preventing dangerous experiments from going on so there is something rotten in denmark and someone needs to get to the bottom of this but can't include tony fauci investigating himself it has to be an independent bipartisan commission. laura: do you have faith a bipartisan commission given the lies that have been put out there, 500,000 dead and people just looking the other way?
12:20 am
>> we can't even get a hearing but realize what they were studying in that lab they have admitted to was 15 times more deadly than the virus we are dealing with, covid 19 has a one% mortality, that's a lot of people but sars from 2004 has a 15% mortality and they were taking sars and using it up and making it more infectious to human airway cells. that is a scary thing to do particularly from the chinese communists who are not the most trustworthy of partners. >> at least partly funded by the us taxpayers. that is a scandal. thank you for joining us tonight. he found that the black lives matter chapter in st. paul but now says within a year he learned and's true motive. restaurant turner is here to tell his story, you're not going to want to miss it.
