blood and wiping your bloody hands and doing it guiltless. that's a blood-curdling kind of statement even if it were said in jest but she said it with a serious tone because she really believes that annual needs to do more than saying it doesn't reflect values, they need to utterly repudiate it and need to apologize to every donor of yale and every student of el for having invited this lunatic to their school. >> harris: i kind of go into different directions with this. everything governor huckabee said and then also in the other direction is how does a school get to the point where the governor just put it, they didn't apologize. is there an underlying tone that in less racism is coming in a certain direction a malicious call this what it is, psychopathic language and racism but in less it's going towards people of color perhaps a racially diverse, does it not count?
9:04 am
>> tomi: unfortunately, that's the point we've gotten to in this country were people are so afraid to do anything, they excuse actual racism especially in academic institutions but i go back and forth on this story because there's part of me who believes in free speech, who says we need more speech especially on college campuses so young students and people can look at this and say this is disgusting speech, this woman is unwell, this is repulsive and they can decide for themselves what to think and hopefully they will all come to that conclusion but the other half of me is also really worried about the state of the country right now and what kids are learning and students are learning in school. for the able to look at speech like this from somebody who supposed to be educated and a psychiatrist, someone who is giving a talk at yale university, are they able and have they been given the tools to listen to something like that and say this is repulsive, this is disgusting, this woman is unwell? i'm worried about the state of our nation and the state of our young people and our students. are they able to listen to this
9:05 am
free speech and realize how disgusting it is what we have such a culture in this country where this is excused from a certain side has you mention that young people aren't really able to decipher? it's a toss-up on this but i also will say this was a lecture, an academic lecture. this is a speaker coming to campus. have gone to several campuses where people have told me i'm unwelcome and these were speeches i've done that i've been outside of school hours and have not been an educational experience but rather a speech after hours in an auditorium. this was a classroom education if i'm not mistaken so there's a big difference here and the liberals need to answer for their arbitrary restrictions on free speech and what exactly they want to cosign and sponsor here. >> harris: so what you're saying about free speech is exactly true and that's where we all live and more words are better, so on and so forth. the qualification comes when the psychiatrist says my words were

taken out of context and they were used to be provocative. but you meant them as governor huckabee said. does any of that other stuff matter? >> emily: that's exactly right and to your point, i'm a professional that has to upkeep with licensure in the state of washington and california and this was a required -- this class went towards credits for those medical school students to go toward a certain requirement so these were children here. these were medical professionals and the larger question which governor huckabee raised is what was the old doing in the first place inviting her? this woman said yale should not have been surprised because they knew the topic and the title and the speaker. she's absolutely right. i looked back at her social media is filled with videos that in their words include imagery of violence against any group and profanity not to mention unprofessionalism
9:07 am
and a disrespectful tone. of course, they said it's antithetical to the police and tenants of this university but it was there for them to see so what were they thinking? she has doubled down, the inability to list the title and the author, she calls it white amnesia and now said she is indeed doubling down. >> harris: when she said her words were out of context, barry white did the work of the audio was out there and you can listen to it for yourself. the bigger half of that statement was it was meant to be provocative. it is. maybe this is how she wanted to lie herself up. i don't know. before i go to you, let's go here. professor carol swain says the psychiatrist should no longer be allowed to practice. let's put that up. >> she should not be practicing medicine. what she said mattered and so there are lunatics who may be listening to her speech right now that will go out and act on her fantasy.
9:08 am
she has complained that in someone's mind. >> harris: your reaction. >> kayleigh: she's exactly right. what is this world coming to where we have lost all sense of humanity towards one another. i was in the airport and there was an unruly tenant in the store and the cashier looks at me and says i think this world is coming to an end and i can't help but agree with her when i see rhetoric like this at a top university in this country. it's incredible and she is to give a speech at a child study center of all places and yale knew the title of the lecture, they knew it was a psychopathic problem of the white mind and they allowed it to continue and make no mistake, this ideology however violence she may have been is rooted in critical race theory where you are keeping someone by virtue of the color of their skin, an oppressor or oppressed so she lectures at the child study center, this goes right into america's school, buy
